Portie Roti is a lovely gem here in downtown Portland! I came here during lunch time and I immediately sat down to a beautiful and relaxing vibe. I had the curry peas in coconut sauce and a sweet potato tacari with roti. The plate was full of colors and came with a fresh green leaf salad. The peas in coconut sauce was grated fresh and I love the amount of spice used in the dishes, everything was fresh and Ital. The sweet potato tacari was banging!!! I am a huge fan of curries and Portie Roti nailed it! If you’re looking for a chillaxin vibe with food full of love, this is the place, I will definitely be a regular guest here. Blessings
Absolutely phenomenal. Portie Roti is hands-down one of the most memorable meals I’ve had in Jamaica. The curry goat was outstanding—deeply spiced, perfectly tender, and layered in a way that honestly rivals the best South Indian or Goan curries. Rich without being heavy, soulful without being overwhelming. Just exceptional. The garlic shrimp was equally incredible—bold, fragrant, and cooked to perfection. Every bite was packed with flavor, with that balance of spice and aroma that shows real confidence in the kitchen. On top of the food, the service was warm, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming, making the whole experience feel special rather than transactional. If you’re anywhere near Portland or Port Antonio, this place is unmissable. A true standout—food made with care, skill, and heart. Loved it.
Porti Roti is a lovely spot for delicious, comforting roti. The flavors are rich, the roti is perfectly made, and every bite feels warm and satisfying. A great place to enjoy a tasty meal you’ll want to come back for. 😊
When traveling around Jamaica, especially in Portland, meals can sometimes start to feel repetitive. Portie Roti is a refreshing change! Every dish we tried was fantastic, and there wasn’t a single item we didn’t enjoy. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Portland who wants something a little different.
A laid back vibe. Great staff especially owner Chef Donovan. Tasty fresh curry chicken and roti. Cold beer. Reasonable prices. When in Port Antonio. A must visit.
Went to Portie Roti for a simple lunch and somehow ended up having the best afternoon. The chef Devon served us goat curry and listen, if he’s Indian, then I’m a retired Bollywood actress, because absolutely nothing about him gave “curry expert”… except the curry, which was AMAZING!!! He was renovating, so goat curry was literally the entire menu. But honestly? It was so good I would’ve eaten it off a flip-flop. His good friend & DJ Ronald MacDonald (yes, the Jamaican edition) soothed us with some old remix classics. We sat outside with our beers, and suddenly we’re in a 3-hour free-for-all conversation that bounced between business, religion, music, politics, hurricanes, travel... ya know, everything that is typically off limits! Zero filters. Infinite laughs. Devon even buys us a round of beers because apparently we were entertaining enough to deserve it. Both he and Ronald told us how much they enjoyed our visit and honestly, we felt the same. By the end of it I was ready to sign adoption papers. If you want amazing food, icy cold beers, laughter, existential debates, good music and accidental life coaching, go to Portie Roti. Highly recommend. Would get abducted into this three-hour madness again without hesitation. See you in February! Make sure Ronald MacDonald is there to scratch the vinyl.
The absolute best curry goat I have ever had in my life! Definitely will be back several times. Please visit you will not be disappointed.
The best chicken curry I've ever had. Large portion and quick delivery. Highly recommended!
10/10. Got the curry goat with roti and some red stripes delivered all the way to Hope Bay. Fall off the bone meat, curry sauce was some of the best I’ve had in portland, and delivered pretty fast. Can’t ask for more besides seconds😂🤘🏻 Try this place if you haven’t. 12/10. Had to come back here and update the review. Got a spicy coconut shrimp with fried plantain both ripe and green. Owner went out and reupped the plantain and shrimp just for the dish! Unreal energy and the food represents exactly that.
The best curry chicken I’ve ever had. This place is adorable. Very kind owners and operators. Plenty of parking. Incredible unique flavors. They even deliver.
Excellent curry goat and shrimp curry. Best meal here!
Hidden gem a bit outside the center of Port Antonio. Definitely worth it. The curry goat is very tastfull and fresh. Devon is a very kind owner and gived you a lot of information if wanted. We liked him so much that we accompagnied him to a bingo night. Big up Devon and the Portie Roti restaurant. When back in Port Antonio, first thing on my list.
Tried the shrimp fried rice & chicken Alfredo. Both were DELICIOUS 😋! Delivery was reasonably priced, timely delivery, and straight to our front door. So happy we had great food choices nearby while staying on our vaca. Would definitely try/use again.
It was the best food I ate on Jamaica. Indian kitchen in its own Jamaican way. Chris & Joyce are just the cutest couple welcoming you to their wonderful restaurant. Food was amazing 5/5 Vegetarian options too 5/5
Let me just say this... I don't know if it's because the meal I ordered was different than the usual everyday rice.. but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The curry chicken was the right amount of spicy.. the pressed plantains weren't cold or tough. The roti was well done. And to top it off my coconut water was still cold...my coworkers swarmed my desk the minute I opened my box. thank you for the great customer service and prompt delivery to... my overall experience was a 10.. I hope it remains that way going forward. I'm excited to make another purchase.
Went there after my guest house suggested it , and well… Just by the amazing smell you know you going to eat good !!! Food was delicious, good portion and really nice cook ! I definitely recommend 100%

Absolutely the best restaurant I’ve eaten at in Jamaica! The prices are very affordable, the mix of flavors is just incredible, and the whole team is so warm and welcoming. I 100% recommend it — a true gem!

We went there today for lunch to get the curry goat and it was everythingggg. Started off the experience with two red stripes and some good conversation. Got the curry goat with roti, veg, and coconut-sweet potato chickpeas. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 everything was delicious, flavors were heavenly and on point. The owner is an amazing person with a great heart. Very knowledgeable about Portland and its history, and top notch customer service from him. Highly recommend this place, wonderful experience.
I went for dinner with a friend last night and it was amazing! The owner was renovating the place but he welcomed us anyway - they were so kind to cook for us even if it wasn’t open that day, they prepared us the tables in the garden and lighted some candles. The food was amazing, a mix of Jamaican and Indian flavours. 100% recommended!
We intended to take the curry goat and roti to go but ended up sitting there and waxing off both our plates. Hope to see the place grow service was very nice. My juice was icy and cold perfectly refreshing.
We visited Thomson's in Portie Roti today. Not only did we enjoy a delicious meal, we also had some very good and interesting conversations with Thomson! We will visit him again. On Fridays, starting at 7:00 p.m., there is also live music...

The food was so amazing! Some of the best chickpea curry I have ever had! The live music was really peaceful and the chef was very kind. Definitely recommend coming to try some delicious Indian Jamaican fusion!
My wife and I went to Portland for her birthday and we searched for almost 1 hr on a Sunday trying to find a good food spot in Port Antonio. No one was open, we saw the description of the food that was served and saw open on google so we called and immediately Devon said we should come by. We left where we were and drove there and initially we were hesitant but we got reassurance. While waiting as Devon and his associate completed the meals to order, we got to chatting and he shared his experience of ownership and operation which encouraged me to believe in his work. When we got the food, the serving size was great and the presentation was very good. I must say Devon definitely put some dedication and effort into this curried goat and curried chicken because my wife danced up a storm while eating. So, we went back 2 more times for, her birthday meal (a lovely sea food meal) and a going home meal. All the 3 meals were excellent and the customer service was alway top tier. Thanks Portie Roti for making my wife’s birthday a success, food is her favorite pass time 😄 so it really won her over. We’ll definitely be coming back.
