🍞 Google Review: 85°C Bakery Cafe – Flushing, NY ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 85°C Bakery Cafe in Flushing is a total standout—easily a stronger, fresher, and more exciting spot compared to Faydah and Paris Baguette. The location is cute, clean, and super inviting, with that warm bakery aroma that makes you instantly happy to be there. The selection is incredible. Everything looks fresh, everything smells fresh, and everything tastes like it came straight out of the oven. From breads to pastries to cakes, this place delivers quality and consistency. Parking is definitely a challenge in this area, but you can always head to the municipal lot nearby if street parking becomes a battle. If you’re looking to try a new bakery spot in Flushing, this is a must‑visit. Fresh, delicious, and worth the trip every time. --- 🍰 Boomsauce Scale (Bakery Edition) - 🗑️ B – Basura Stale pastries, sad vibes, nothing worth the calories. - 😐 BS – Basic Sauce Decent selection, average freshness, nothing memorable. - 👍 BS+ – Better Sauce Good pastries, clean shop, solid experience. - 🔥 BS++ – Best Sauce Fresh bakes, great variety, cute location, and consistent quality. - 🌟 BS+++ – Boomsauce Elite Fresh-out-the-oven magic, adorable atmosphere, and a selection that makes you want to buy everything. Boomsauce Score: 🌟 BS+++ – Boomsauce Elite 85°C Flushing is the bakery glow‑up the neighborhood needed. Fresh, fun, and absolutely worth the carbs.
This is my go to spot for Thai tea and my sweet fix. Food is delicious and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is cozy, there isn't any where to sit inside but there usually is sitting in the atrium. Definitely recommend checking this bakery out.
85°C Bakery in Flushing is the bakery for freshly baked goods and creative seasonal offerings. Celebrate this Fourth of July with their Red Velvet and Strawberry Cream cakes designed specially for this holiday. It’s not just are visually stunning but tastefully balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. The Red Velvet is rich and velvety with a smooth cream cheese frosting, while the Strawberry Cream is light, fruity, and refreshingly indulgent. The bread and pastries here is a standout. Whether it’s a savory bun or a sweet pastry, the texture is consistently soft yet bouncy, with that perfect chewy bite that makes each item feel freshly baked and satisfying. Drinks are crafted with care and precision. Prices are more than reasonable with abundant choices. From thoughtful designs to dependable quality, 85°C Bakery makes celebrating any occasion just a little sweeter.
This Taiwanese bakery was a favorite growing up on the west coast and I love how there's one in Flushing. Located in Tangram mall, it's the perfect spot to grab a quick bite (or a snack for later!). You can enjoy your breads and pastries at upstairs at their tables, in the mall food court, or in the comfort of your own home. They have a good selection of sweet and savory pastries here, at an affordable price. I love their egg tarts and their pork sung bun, but all of them are good! A great, reliable bakery with always fresh, fluffy pastries. (Oh! And their drinks are also always the perfect pair with their breads!)
Delicious treats, good amount of seating space upstairs. Located in the mall so its very convenient. Great service and reasonable prices.
They have much more selection now than in their first couple of weeks of opening. I was actually pretty surprised considering it was a Saturday at 2pm when I went. FYI there are 2 drink kiosks on either entrance. I was so blown away by the Hokkaido cream bun!! I love the sea salt drink series. Matcha sea salt was good and it has an adjustable sweetness level. So happy that there’s finally an 85 in nyc
Second day of their soft launch. Place was packed. Everything was very reasonably priced. Like many asian baked goods, things were on the very sweet side, but that may just be me cause I prefer savory. Still, everything we got was very good. The standouts for me were the jalapeño cream cheese bread, ravioli bun, chocolate mousse, and egg tarts. They did not skimp on the fillings for anything as many places do. I liked the egg tarts as much as those from the egg tart lady (I miss her!), though these had a crispier shell and almost liquidity center—so light and creamy. The bottled Thai ice tea was surprisingly good—creamy and flavorful, though not as strong on that smoky flavor I like and a little too sweet. The staff were friendly and nice, and seemed happy to be working there. Update: So I’ve been back dozens of times. The jalapeno cream cheese bread is still the best. The tuna sandwich is yummy. The berry tarts, choco bun, and crispy chocolate bun are also worth getting. A lot of the non-savory breads/buns/etc have the same sweetness profile and kinda end up all tasting the same. The cookies are disappointing, especially the chocolate chip, which has oats in it and ends up tasting more like an oatmeal cookie than chocolate chip cookie—also, for freshly baked goods, the ingredients list is crazy long and complicated. The potato croquette has bacon bits in it, which they don’t mention in the description. If you have food restrictions, definitely check out the full ingredients list for each item on their website—they can be really surprising. The salted coffee is delicious. Depending on time of day the place can be really packed and availability of goods varies.
It's a shame they're only in Flushing 🥺 Finding this gem in Flushing and knowing that there are no other locations saddens me a bit. Still, every time I go to Flushing I'll stop by for my Baked Goods ♥️ The prices are affordable and the breads and pastries are really delicious. The attention is very friendly, polite and kindness 🥰 I recommend you ask for your receipt and download the :) app You get reward points for your purchases 💖

85°C is a famous bakery with roots in America from the west coast that has begun its eastward expansion, with this location being recently opened within the Tangram mall. The store opens quite early, but they have many breads and pastries in stock and constantly have them refilled. They have many unique and staple breads, such as ham and cheese sandwiches, egg tarts, roll cakes, salt buns, bacon and cheese, croissants, and more. The croissants were good, had a nice peanut garnish that went well with the chocolate. The matcha roll cake was alright, had red beans inside the dough which went well with the cake, but overall didn't have much of a taste beyond the cream. The rest of the bread was pretty standard, but of good quality.
First time trying in the States. Tried the 85 degree coffee and enjoyed it. Good balance of coffee flavor, sugar, and dairy. The dining room is currently shut down because A/C is broken. Kind of a strange setup for ordering but very good variety of baked items.
I recently visited 85°C Bakery Cafe in Flushing, and it was a delightful experience! The Red Bean Bread was soft and comforting, while the Ham and Cheese Bread offered a perfect savory balance. The Pesto Chicken Sandwich was fresh and flavorful, making it an ideal light lunch. I also enjoyed the cheesy bites and tarts—each bite was pure bliss. To wash it all down, I tried their Cold Peach Green Tea, which was refreshingly smooth without being overly sweet. What truly impressed me was the reasonable pricing, providing excellent value for the quality of food offered. It's a fantastic spot for anyone looking for delicious baked goods without breaking the bank. A must-visit for any bakery enthusiast!
They have a good amount of variety of bread to choose from. So far I tried two of them and the texture of the bread is good and not too overly sweet. I would probably switch my bakery to them from now on. However, I would give them some time with the beverages. It’s was only average. Their price is very very reasonable.
I finally found time to come here because for the first 6 months since opening, this place has been PACKED. I came early at 10am and there was no line to order drinks. There were a lot of assorted pastries but the pastries that I liked unfortunately had nuts in them, and I am allergic to nuts :/ So there wasn’t much else that looked appetizing to eat at 10am that also wasn’t super sugary for the morning. So I got a mocha latte, and it was delicious! Not too sweet, and I’m happy it came with whipped cream. For less than $5 it’s a steal. But for pastries I’d recommend just supporting your local bakeries.

Decent bakery inside Tangram. Line could get quite long and sometimes move slow.
The bakery is located on the 1st floor of the Tangram Mall, 39th ave side. Very convenient by 7 train, parking at the mall for a fee. Learned about the opening so remembered to pass by when I was there. I don't mind the smaller bun sizes and a large variety too; and prices are low considering it is located in a mall.

Prices are so affordable. Grabbed a hokkaido bun and a choco bun. Loved the choco bun and haven't had the hokkaido bun yet but I already know it's going to be great. I'm a big chocolate lover and the choco bun was perfect soft, sweet, and chocolatey. I would definitely order this again! Next time I want to try the chocolate cookie bread, matcha choco bun, ube bread, marble taro, and some of the savory ones!
Stopped by 85C Bakery at Tangram Mall on a Saturday during lunch. The drink I ordered was really good, and the service was fast and friendly, which I appreciated during the busy lunch rush. One downside was that the 2nd floor seating area was closed, so if you’re planning to sit down and relax with your order, you might want to check ahead or arrive when it’s less crowded. Overall, a solid spot for a quick drink. Would definitely come back, though I hope the upstairs seating opens up for future visits!
I enjoy coming to 85°C in Flushing for a cup of coffee—the drinks are consistently good, and it's a convenient spot to relax. However, the staff training could really use improvement. The baristas often look visibly unhappy while preparing drinks, which makes the experience feel less welcoming. Also, when I place orders online, the in-store team often seems unaware of them, and they have to go to the front to remind them or hand over the order slip myself. I hope the management can work on smoother coordination and more friendly service—it would make a big difference
This is a Taiwanese bakery called 85°C Bakery Café, located inside the Tangram Mall in Flushing🍞☕️They serve coffee along with a variety of desserts, including their popular pineapple cakes. There’s also a dine-in area where you can sit down and enjoy your treats.
Pastries are exactly what you’d expect from a mainstream Chinese bakery—small, a bit oily, lightly sweet, and easy to eat, but honestly kind of boring. The selection is large, the shop is clean and busy, and the vibe is nice, but nothing really jumped out or got me excited. I picked two items that looked promising; they turned out just okay. If you’re already in the mall, it’s a convenient spot for a quick snack, but not really a destination.

Got a salted black coffee with cream foam on top. Coffee was alright, nothing special. Tasted watered down, honestly. The real problem was the service though - it was not good. The girl working the register was kinda passive aggressive for no reason... I asked her a few simple questions about the menu/drinks, and she spoke very quietly and mumbled the answers - I could barely understand her. She became clearly annoyed at me. Stuff like this just makes you not want to come back to a spot. If you despise answering questions about the drinks the place you work at is selling and you get annoyed far too easily, why work as a coffee shop cashier and a customer service employee? You just ruin the customer's mood when you act this way. Save your money and go to a different coffee shop/bakery - there are dozens of great ones in Flushing.

85C, you guys are starting off the New Years poorly... We wanted to try some toast but there was none left on the counter. As we were about to give up, we saw there was a cart full of them (20+) near the cash register/by the kitchen so we flagged down an employee to ask if they can restock it. She replied that 'if there was none at the counter, it means they don't have anymore left". We pointed towards the cart in plain sight in which she then replied "those are not for today..." Seriously? Did she just implied that their products are pre-made and are not baked fresh daily? Why else would you have baked all these goods but they are not for sale today? Also, we ordered a few slices of cake and no utensils were provided... It is such a shame because your bread is pretty good. We were a long time customer but things might change if you are just selling overnight breads. I hope this was just a miscommunication by your staff. If so, you should better train your staffs to improve customer service and prevent these types of scenarios.
First time at this bakery and wanted to support a Taiwanese business. On the evening of Thursday, 08/21/25 at around 6:45PM, I purchased 2 buns: a Mango Custard Bun and a Pork Sung Bun (dried pork flakes with mayo; it was the last one). On the next morning, I tried the Pork Sung Bun and it was just terrible. Not only it was dry, hard, and "old" like it's been sitting there for days. The mayo was going bad (sour). I immediately called the bakery with the intention of providing a constructive feedback. Susan from the bakery answered my call and took the feedback with my info telling me that she'll share the feedback with the store manager and would issue a store credit. I was glad to hear because that's proper customer service and symbolizes that they stand by quality. I wasn't looking for a refund or credit. Then Susan called me back telling me that the Store Manager, Leo wants me to bring back the eaten bun!!! Like, ewwww! I had told her during the first call that I won't be able to make it to the Tangram Mall until a few days later and by her telling me that the manager wants to inspect the bun even days later makes NO SENSE! The bun is already hard, dry, and going bad. So, I should somehow keep this spoiling bun and bring it back so I can get a measly $2 something store credit?!! You all can keep my money because I am not interested in ever going back to your bakery. I'll just share the photos here so you can inspect it!!
