We love those place, good food, fun dinner, kids are in love with the process of cooking in their own pot. Not many places have this variety of vegetables, meat and seafood!! Also the owner is super friendly and very professional. We keep coming here, and it's worth every time.
My visit to Shabu Town was an absolute delight from start to finish. The restaurant offers an impressive selection of fresh ingredients, high quality meats, and flavorful broths that make the hot pot experience truly enjoyable. Each bite was rich, balanced, and full of freshness a clear reflection of their attention to quality and detail. The staff were exceptionally attentive and welcoming, ensuring that our table was well taken care of throughout the meal. They took the time to explain the menu and made great recommendations, which added to the overall experience. The atmosphere was clean, modern, and comfortable. Cooking the ingredients right at the table added an interactive and fun element that made the meal even more memorable. Overall, Shabu Town delivers a perfect combination of excellent food, great service, and inviting ambiance. It’s a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious and engaging dining experience. I’m already looking forward to my next.
I like to eat Shabu with my friends and family especially during cooler weather days and I used to always have to goto ones in China town because there was not one in Katy where I live by and one day I heard there was new opening in Katy called Shabu Town so I immediately checked it and been going there for a long time now. I also recommend this place to all my friends and colleagues as well. They all love it because the food, quality meats, nice and clean and very spacious inside as well. They also have KBbq in separate section where you can do both Shabu and bbq grill. Recently they also added chef’s special seafood boil with his own recipe which’s super delicious. Go check it out and you will be hooked and become a regular customer just like me and everyone else! The best Shabu in Katy Texas!
my family and i go here all the time for hot pot! it is an all you can eat and totally worth the price! all the ingredients and meat are fresh. additionally, the side dishes, sauces, and ice cream are also complimentary, which really makes the price worth it. we also tried the kbbq here and it was just as good as the hot pot! if i could rate the service ten stars, i would because it was phenomenal. the workers go out of their way to make sure customers are comfortable and even give recommendations for easy decision making. they are also very friendly and welcoming! love this place!
The food was so good! The service was even better! For the price of the meal you get really good quality meat, sides, and add-ins. All the workers were super sweet and attentive. Even if this is your first time having hot pot or Korean bbq the workers make sure everything is to your liking and makes sure your experience is the best it could be. I would 100% come back with friends and family.
Incredibly tasty Shabu experience! The broths were flavorful, the meat was high-quality and melted in my mouth, and the dipping sauces were perfect. Everything was so fresh and the interactive cooking made the meal really fun. Will definitely be back for more! The staff is friendly and service was great. Highly recommend!!!!
Had an amazing dinner here last night! If you're looking for a place with really tasty food, this is it. The concept of cooking your own thin slices of meat and veggies in a simmering pot of broth is as fun as it is delicious. The broths themselves are deeply flavorful, and the quality of the ingredients really shines through. Everything was fresh and high-quality. By the end, you have this amazing soup that's been building flavor all night. It was seriously so tasty and satisfying. Great spot for a group or a unique date night. Highly recommend!
A lot of options and their house sauces are good!!! The place is new and super clean. Servers are very attentive and the meat came out very quick. The broth is pretty light but you can add ingredients and spice to your taste. We had the original, sukiyaki, Thai and Mala broth. Plenty of spaces and plenty of parking.
Thursday night was a nice calm night to come to this place. The service was very nice and attentive. The grilling side was more crowded than the hot pot side, but the hot pot side is much larger. They have a large room for parties in the back that could probably hold about 30+ people.
When we entered the the restaurant, it was very clean. We were see it by the hostess who was very very nice. Our first impression was that there was so much variety and that the place was very clean. There's a wide variety of vegetables and seafood. And if you want meet they will bring it out as you need it. That's all-you-can-eat at one price. I highly recommend. It was very delicious. You can customize your own sauce and broth if you want. And everyone gets their own hot pot which is very unique. Most other hot pot places I've been to have one huge pot in the middle of the table. It is family-friendly and very inviting. Me and my friends had a wonderful time. Lunch is about $22 a person and dinner is about $32 a person. But it is all you can eat. And it's worth it.
Shabu Town has delicious soups. This was my first experience at a place like this. The ingredients are very fresh. They have a huge selection of ingredients to add to the soup. Considering what is included in the price, it is very reasonable to eat here. The service was very friendly and helpful. I most definitely will be back.
This place is a hidden gem. We love the variety of the seafood. Shrimps were super fresh. If you are not afraid of taking off the shrimp heads by yourself, then this place fits you well. They have different kinds of slice meat. Some people love the lean ones, meanwhile some people love the juicy ones. They have all the selection for the different meat lovers. They also have a variety of vegetables and mushrooms. They have more different types of vegetables than other hot pot places I have ever been in Houston. Recommend for the people who love meats and who love to eat healthy.
I found this spot about 3 years ago and have frequented it many times over the years. Just getting around to leaving a review. I will say this is one of my personal favorite AYCE hot pots in town. I feel that food is up to the person eating it and the flavor is what matters, so for me this place is very easy to adapt to your taste. The soups base does feel generic but that's the beauty of it because you can customize your sauce add it to hot pot and change it how you like it, saltier, spicier, sweeter, etc. The food options are vast and easy to find on their buffet bars. The meats are easy to order and the waiters check on you often to ask if you want more meat or drink. 4/5 on the food choices. Service has always been great every time I have come here to eat. The waitstaff clears empty plates once they see you have several on your table and always ask if you want more meat when they pick up your empty plates. One of my ways I judge waiters is how often I have an empty water glass, and this place never lets me get to empty. They offer more broth at no extra cost when you are low. 4/5 service. Atmosphere is from an older building you can tell they've been through a lot. I believe they opened up during the pandemic or even before. But the eating area remains clean, bathrooms clean, tables always clean, buffet area clean even when people spill on the edges. Best part is I can still have a conversation with friends and not feel like I'm yelling across a table. 4/5 atmosphere.
This is the second time I’ve been here. The first time experience during lunch was meh just OK but this time for dinner exceeded our expectations. Yes it cost more but I loved the selections. It had these huge oysters and huge scallops that made it totally worth and the meat cuts were amazing. Everything was so fresh. Great selections for dinner. I’ve been on a cabbage addiction lately, wrapping everything. I’d blanch the cabbage and wrapped my meat with my special sauce and I ate it that way. lol you can eat so much more that way! So good! Lesson to the wise for an Ayce Shabu. Don’t eat the noodles until the end :) so we’re getting really good at this all you can eat Shabu business. It is so good. We had so much fun and we ate so much. The wait staff was so kind and so nice. The only reason I didn’t give an extra star is that we came on a Sunday night and they aren’t even closing, but they stopped refilling things an hour before. They stopped refilling the garlic. There was no more spoons out for the ice cream. There’s no more crawfish or Cajun boil out and they stopped coming to refill your soup or check up on you after a while. Other than that the food was delicious so that’s why I’m hesitant to give it five stars. The place is huge. The music is loud with a lot of K-pop. It’s on the hotter side AC lacking a little bit for hot pot, but everything was so tasty especially done my way with the cabbage. lots of variety and a lot of fun. Worthwhile place to go.
The service was terrible not once did they ask if we needed anything i had to get up an find someone to get a refill on drinks and silverware also no one came to change the parchment paper on the grill like they are supposed to. An the one thing tha bothered me the most is I order chicken and never got it but then they had the audacity to try and charge me a 33$ tip. For what for citing us in a corner of the restaurant and forgetting about us . While you clearly attended to other Asian customers. Then at the end when I left an 18$ tip which I should had left $0. From the way they treated me. The lady stop me at the door demanding a tip because they dint bother to clean the table and look for it on the table. When the guy came over and said he found it and it was only $18 she got up set and said next time it would be 18% or i should just not go to her restaurants if I couldn't afford to pay 18% .that right there really pist me off so I let her know I could pay but why pay for so horrible service and let them know about how no one came over until it was time for the bill. She said oh an try walking away. This place is garbage never would I go there again should had known better when it was the only place empty on valentines day. I see why
I’m blown away at the number of good reviews. Maybe these people have not been to other similar Shabu restaurants. Huge place. Needs a lot of work probably not correctable. Zero ventilation. I smelled so bad had to change plans and go home after. You will smell like you were in a forest fire. The meat is good but slide super thin. Way too thin. The sauces need a lot of work. Really bad. I gave up and used no sauce. Limited fruit. No deserts other than generic ice cream not great. It needs a good side bar. Too many vegetables and not enough sides. The kimchi was awful that’s a big problem. Sour. Not fresh. Not spiced well. Sorry. Price isn’t bad lunch looks priced very well. I’d rather pay more and have better quality. Huge place. Not many customers. Smells bad. Beats good sides not so good. Individuals pots which is a plus and minus. They charge to change the pots they do get kind of gross at the end. I can’t return too many better places
Worse hot pot I have ever eaten. We ordered the miso soup and it tasted like water. We had to put a lot of sauce for the soup to have some kind of flavor. Very little variety of side dishes to add to the soup. The meat is sliced very very thin like paper. I would not recommend this place at all!
The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and excellent service. Upon arrival, we were seated and chose our meal type—meat, soup, etc.—before heading to the buffet-style stations stocked with seafood, sauces, and vegetables. Once we returned to our table, the meat was already set out, ready for us to begin our hot pot experience. However, about an hour into the meal, a roach emerged from the wooden base of the table. I instantly felt nauseous, and my girlfriend called the waitress over. She was very apologetic, but unfortunately, the restaurant did not offer any discount for this unpleasant incident. Although the food was good, we will not be returning.
