Opinions de Sushi Ichii Katy
For the price, the buffet was very impressive. The menu looks small but has plenty of options. We tend to stick with wholesome options and lots of vegetables so was pleasantly surprised by the suitable choices. This is our 2nd visit. We found out about the buffet our 1st visit. Today, we tried the coconut shrimp, shumai, edamame, and agadashi tofu. Very good. We also tried a variety of sushi rolls and nigiri. Very good, too. We were impressed by the vegetable and cowboy rolls. The cowboy roll is originally spicy. We were able to order a second roll non-spicy for the kid. The kid also had the teriyaki chicken and tofu. She gave both of them thumbs up. We will return again. We love the laid back style of the place, kinda peaceful. It looks well-maintained and clean, even in the restroom. The waitstaff were always around, so we never had to hunt anybody down. Our server, Jeff, was friendly and attentive. October 5, 2025. Another impressive meal. We wanted to order a la carte but ended up going with AYCE. Our waitress was super sweet and helpful. We really enjoy the friendly feel of this restaurant, a local vibe, like they really appreciate their customers. Today, we tried a few different items. The Rainbow Naruto stood out to me because it tasted refreshing. It didn’t come with rice but was hearty and satisfying. My daughter was so excited about her salmon sushi (nigiri) highlighted by the sunsetting stream thru the window. Their raw fish always tastes fresh and cut the right thickness so is a good bite.
This is my favorite place in Katy. The servers are great, the food is always consistent, it’s just simply a fantastic place. Prices have gone up slightly over time, but this is not an inhibitor for how much food you’re able to get for the cost. The owner is always there with a friendly greeting. I’ll always be a patron of this place as long as I live in the area.
I went here for lunch on a whim and it was the perfect place. The chef here is amazing. The summer roll is filling, crispy and with the right amount of spice that balances the roll. Beautiful plating as well. The Salmon Hibachi is a wonderful medley of flavors. Best Miso soup ever. And yes, people can mess it up. Not here. Yummy. When I am on the borderline of hangry descent, I really cannot have anything that I do not like. I walked in in that hangry daze and anything off would have just been horrific. It was wonderful! I am very happy I stopped in. I left relaxed, clear headed and with a new go-to place for sushi. The space feels expansive, warm and welcoming inside. I would definitely recommend for any occasion. The parking in the area is always tight, but this is worth it. It would be great for small or mid-sized large parties as well. The wait staff is responsive and quick. I wholeheartedly recommend!
I literally could not get enough! The food is very very great and delicious. Sashimi was crisp and vest tasty. All of the rolls were nice and well put together. We usually go to sushi 9 for all you can eat because we love them but this place is a step up for sure! Taste, quality and price. Plus they are really nice here and have a robot that delivers food! LOL. Seriously they do have a robot. But go check them on for sushi night sometime. You'll be pleasantly surprised and will be back!! One month later still nothing but amazing things to say about this place!!
This place is amazing!!! The parking lot is very large, and very crowded because there's a lot of restaurants in this plaza but it wasn't difficult to find a spot. The staff is very kind and we were sat right away. We did the lunch all you can eat which included different rolls, appetizers, rice/noodle and dessert. In total we ordered about 10 rolls, some appetizers and dessert and paid less than $20 per person! The sushi was amazing as well. Everything came out quickly, the rolls were fresh and beautifully presented. Our waitress recommended rolls to us we wouldn't have tried otherwise and we loved every single one. Edit 12/30/23 Wanted to come and add/edit my review. We've come back several times and the service has remained wonderful. The sushi is always excellent, fish is good quality and servers attentive. The menu is amazing with a wide selection for both lunch and dinner. We've also had their steak hibachi and it was great. No fatty pieces, good quality meat with excellent flavor.
This is the best sushi buffet I ever been to! Love this place, I love the food, it’s so tasty and flavorful! The service staff here is very welcoming, always make sure we are good on the table, and the atmosphere here is awesome, modern design with with fish light in the air, and parking is huge so I never worry about it. Highly highly recommended check out here if you like Japanese sushi restaurant in Houston Katy area!
Was debating on what to get for lunch and I have not been alone to get sushi in a long time, so I decided to have the all you can eat lunch. Wow, the staff was great, the tea wonderful and the sushi was fresh and tasty purchase the rainbow roll, eel and avocado roll, Tiger roll, soup, green tea, and crab puffs. The staff is totally wonderful.
It is best of the best in town. Very fresh with extremely high quality. Very friendly staff and the chef is absolutely the best. Everything is great and I cannot point any issue with this place, excellent food and professional service. Well done e and keep it up.
I had an incredible dining experience at the all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant! The food was not only delicious but served promptly, which was a pleasant surprise. The variety of sushi options was outstanding, and the flavors were exquisite. The only minor setback was that the steak, although flavorful, was a bit tough. Despite that, I'll definitely be returning for more of their fantastic all you can eat sushi offerings! 👍🏼
I actually went here several times as it is quite close to where I work. An important thing to note is there is parking available in the back. If you go on the weekends, it will be hard to find front parking as it is taken mostly by the poker club next door. The all you can eat price for dinner is 30.95. The menu is essentially Sushi Masa's menu with a few deviations. Seafood soup is different, using soy sauce as the base with the cooked seafood offering additional flavour. Their rice was good with well defined grains. It could use a bit more seasoning though. The staff should take more care in making the rolls. Some of them were a bit lopsided. The hibachi was excellent, with ample portions, and cooked nicely with plenty of moisture present. Fish katsu is tilapia, not a fan of that. Fried rice and the noodles had plenty of meat but did not have much wok hei in them. Good to try once, but not again. Krab sticks are threadfin, again echoing a compromise made by Sushi Masa to use in their seafood soup. Quality of the fish is excellent, I just wish they would not make it so chunky. Compared to the Sushi 9 on Mason road, this is the better choice. Service is better for one, and I think the food is always slightly better. A solid choice if you can afford it and if you are nearby.

I love this place.... this will be on of our go to places when we crave sushi. Everything is fresh and made to order... so many choices.... I was overwhelmed in a good way. If you are in the katy area...please go check them out... im really picky but I enjoyed everything I had to offer.
One the best places I've gone to for sushi. Their all you can eat menu was out of this world with their choices of soups, salads, fried rice, sushi varieties' desserts and many other options to choose from. You won't be disappointed. And since they make them fresh as you order it makes for an unforgettable experience that everyone should try. Thanks to the great staff and sushi chefs for a 5 star experience!

The service was Amazing!!!! Emily was on top of everything…made amazing recommendations. Hell she read my mind lol, offered a To go sauce before I asked…bless her 🙏.

Pretty damn good honestly. This is literally the best Sushi spot I have been to. My girlfriend and I are regulars and Maggie (our regular waiter) is hella cool. Make sure you tip her and the rest of the staff a whole bunch of money!!!

Lovely sushi buffet place. The tempura dishes were nice & crunchy
This is my go to AYCE sushi here in Houston/Katy. The food is always fresh and even when there are a lot of people the plates still come out fast enough. Just take a few minutes and talk to your friends while waiting in between the orders. Food - I generally get mostly their sashimi and it's always fresh. Plus this is one of the few restaurants that I go to where they have Sapporo Black to serve (if you don't know about this beer you should definitely give it a try, best stout in my opinion). All of the hot plates and soups will come out very quickly just be a little patient with the sushi rolls, sashimi, or hand rolls, they make it fresh right there so when it's very busy just talk to your friends. 5/5 food. Service - Always friendly and always helpful. They will even notice when your plates are getting low and ask if you want more food. My water glass is always full there and I never have to ask for it to be refilled because it's empty. 5/5 Atmosphere - I've been going here for a couple of years now and every time the place is clean, bathrooms clean, floors clean, tables clean, even the bar is clean. You can't ask for a cleaner restaurant. Even when busy you can still have a good conversation with friends because it's not too loud. 5/5
Just finished the all you can eat lunch and every single thing we ordered was amazing! Peppered Tuna, seaweed salad, snow crab salad, cowboy roll, black dragon roll, salmon skin hand roll, and OMG the mango tuna roll was sooooo delicious! I highly recommend Sushi Ichii, and me the hubby will definitely be back 😋
I had a great experience at this sushi buffet! The food was fresh, delicious, and there was a wide variety to choose from. But what really stood out was the excellent service from our server, Jeff. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure we always had what we needed without ever feeling rushed. Jeff checked in on us often, kept our drinks full, and had a very positive attitude that made the whole dining experience even better. Definitely recommend this place, and if you’re lucky enough to have Jeff as your server, you’ll be in great hands!
My co-workers and I tried this place for the first time today since they had all you can eat sushi. I’m not a sushi person so I had hibachi chicken and vegetables and it was pretty good. The table had a large variety of rolls and they all enjoyed them. Consensus was that at an affordable price it was definitely worth the money. I’m sure we’d come back again.
Was having a treat yourself day and decided to try this place out on a Sunday. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. Was a tad bit too dark for my liking but not a deal breaker. Very calm and relaxing. For the weekend all you eat $23.99 deal, I ordered a miso soup, cucumber salad, crunch roll, summer roll, lion king roll and a sunshine roll. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I struggled to finish the last two rolls. Ended up leaving 3 pieces on my plate. The miso was flavorful but I wish it was hotter in temperature. Cucumber salad was fresh but I didn’t care for the imitation crab in it. Crunch roll is a classic and didn’t disappoint. Summer roll was my favorite, with the sweet potato, jalapeño, avocado and eel sauce. Lion king wasn’t for me, I think it being completely fried was too much. Sunshine roll was ok, nothing outstanding about it. I prefer a spicier flavor. All in all it was a great experience and I’d highly recommend trying this spot out.
Nice place to get fresh sushi. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We arrived just at 5 pm, so the place was pretty empty. Tables and booths were clean. Did not use the restroom, so I can not comment on that. We ordered a sushi boat for 2, spicy edamme, two custom rolls, and miso soup. This was all for the 4 of us. It was the perfect amount. Rolls were made with not so much rice as other sushi restaurants we have been to. Because of that, we were able to taste all the yummy fish and other fillings in the roll. This restaurant is overall a good place to go and have some fresh sushi.
Nut allergy warning: They have a peanut avocado roll, so suggest informing your server to make rolls separately. We arrived at 11:50 AM on a Saturday morning and it was relatively empty. Got much fuller toward 1 PM. Service was quite fast and remained pretty fast throughout our 2-3 orders. We got our first food within 10 minutes of ordering and I don't think it ever took more than 15 minutes between ordering a roll and receiving it. For 3 people, we ordered a total: 3 Miso Soup 2 Seaweed Salad 2 Edamame 1 Jalapeno Bomb 2 Coconut Shrimp 2 Pepper Tuna 3 piece White Tuna Sushi 3 piece Red Snapper Sushi 3 piece Salmon Sushi 7 Teriyaki Red Snapper 1 Rainbow Roll 1 Tuna Special Roll 1 Eel Avocado Roll 2 Eggplant Tempura 3 Tuna Tataki 1 Alaska Roll 1 Cow Boy Roll 1 Luna Tuna Roll Various ice creams Overall, we enjoyed that the rolls weren't too heavy on the rice, but the lunch menu didn't have many special roll options that weren't spicy or fried or with jalapeno. There are no sashimi options on the lunch menu and the nigiri are very rice heavy. So although the lunch option is cheaper, I would say it's not worth the loss of these options. A couple other misses: -The cold water tasted a bit off. I eventually just ordered a hot green tea and other people in my party got hot water. -The restrooms were missing paper towels and when we let them know, it wasn't fixed.
I dined with few friends for the weekend buffet. This restaurant just opened 5 months ago. Gave the place a try, overall a solid 4/5. Saturday is slow and it’s not crowded. You will be service on time. I tried Mango Tuna Roll and Shaggy Dog Roll. Buffet cost: $23.99 weekend & $18.99 weekdays

To be honest, this place still feels far from the kind of Japanese food I'm familiar with. The sushi rice was loose and lacked that slightly sticky, well-seasoned texture it should have. The fish was of just passable quality—nothing that impressed me. I read reviews before coming in, and some people even said this was the best sushi place they’ve ever been to. Honestly, it’s nowhere near that level. One thing I find strange about many Japanese restaurants in the U.S., including this one, is their heavy use of imitation crab sticks in so many rolls. The prices aren't cheap, yet they clearly cut corners. In Thailand, good sushi places rarely rely on imitation crab, especially not in this quantity or at this price point. I’ve had much better sashimi and sushi elsewhere—even budget sushi in Thailand that costs under $1 per piece is far better than what I had here. And if you’ve ever been to Japan, this would probably make a real Japanese chef cry. Overall, I found the sushi and fish dishes underwhelming. The better items on the menu were actually the takoyaki and fried options like tempura—they looked and tasted better than the raw offerings. I understand that taste is subjective, but to me, this just isn’t the kind of Japanese food that feels authentic. The service was decent, though.

Food was good, don't get me wrong, and the staff are attentive. But they really have that "all you can eat sushi" trick down. All rolls are served in pretty much full size, so you can eat around 80 pieces of sushi and only eat 8 rolls. And yes, 8 rolls is a lot, but other spots around offer smaller portions to sample what you like. Here, you can't do that. You will get full before you've gotten to try even a quarter of the menu. Almost all of the sushi starts to taste exactly the same, same combos and mixes, and our table and the table next to us experience either accidental mix ups or possibly untold "substitutions," not receiving items on the sushi rolls or not receiving one until later, when it was inconvenient. Any of the sushi topped with sauces are super lightly dressed, and anything "tempura" is a scam here (specifically on the sushi), the breading is often hard (so either overcooked or old) and super thick, meaning you get basically zero of the meat you wanted tempura'ed and all of the stale bread in the middle. A lot of it had super soft seaweed too, making for some unpleasant bites. I do not recommend the nigiri options. Overall really not worth it besides location convenience. Sweet tea, spicy edamame, and crab salad were a 10/10, so was their avocado salad, hibachi, and shumai.

I've been to this restaurant many times in the past because it's close to my house, and I've never been charged a ridiculous amount like this time. The last time we went, we were charged $24 for my 8-year-old, $9 for my 5-year-old, $6 for my 3-year-old, and $32 per adult. Other all-you-can-eat sushi places don't charge for my 5-year-old and 3-year-old; anyway, $9 and $6 is a fair price, but $24 for an 8-year-old? First of all, the food quality and options on the menu are nothing impressive or high-end to charge an 8-year-old that amount. If you charge an 11 or 13-year-old that price, it's acceptable. At the age of 8, she still only eats calamari or shrimp tempura. I don't mind paying, but at that price, I'd rather pay to eat at a Brazilian steakhouse or somewhere else. Their shrimp tempura and calamari aren't even good compared to other sushi places. The prices weren't fully disclosed on the menu, nor did the server inform us; it's a very dishonest business. I would never come back.
I tried to have a fun night out with my friends and we all decided to eat here because we have experience with the place. Upon entering one of the waitresses target my friend with an attitude for no reason at all. We tried to shrug it off but that behavior continued all night. We then saw a ROACH crawling on the floor, which put a bad taste in our mouth. Closing the night we paid our bill with a $5 tip(even though they didn’t deserve anything after that treatment). After exiting the premises and almost reaching our car the same waitress ran to us yelling for our attention. After she reached us she wanted us to leave a bigger tip, after the night we had she’s lucky we tipped anything. I don’t recommend going to this place if you want peace of mind with cleanliness or good service.
