It's been awhile since we visited this Restaurant. But I really want to praise our waitress Melanie that worked the night of 4/7/19, she was "ON POINT" on everything! Always made sure our glasses were full and that we didn't need anything. That right there makes people want to keep coming back. Great atmosphere! Great family dining! Ready to go back! Thanks for my "Hometown" Restaurant!

This place has some great Tex-Mex. They do tend to be busy in the evenings because they have a wide variety to choose from. Their chips and salsa are so good you don't want to stop eating them but will make you full before your order comes. They have a good selection of beer, wine, margaritas, and quick service. I highly recommend giving them a try if you haven't been.

My sister and I come for lunch last week. I had the stuffed avocado with chicken and she had chicken with sauce on top. Was delicious. Waitresses name was Sarah and she gave excellent service and was very careful to make sure everything was clean in area and germ free. Will be returning again.

Great food, fast service, and plenty of heat in the salsa, Daniella, our server was great and spent nice time talking with us. We plan on retiring soon and we discovered she is from El Salvador. She is very friendly. True the host at front does not smile for some reason, but if you watch and listen to her, she is very on point in doing her job.

My pastor brought me here for the 1st time. I have always wondered about it, as it it right next to my preferred walmart, there in Kaufman. Thank you, Pastor Brent. for putting me on to a great authentic Mexican restaurant. I can honestly say there is only one Mexican restaurant in all of North Texas that I prefer over La Pradera, and I am not even sure that they are still around.

Food was very good and service was fast. Chips could have been better. Ours were all broken up for some reason. Salsa is very tasty and not too hot.

Food was great! Light crispy chips, perfect heat to the salsa. Tamales are tender, taco meat was seasoned correctly with the perfect tender consistency of a true Mexican taco (in other words it didn't taste like boring ground meat, it's different and sooo much better). Service was meh, inattentive server (we'll blame that on Covid where there's a shortage of good staff members these days)

Street tacos are divine. Make sure you get beef and barbacoa tacos with charro beans. Salsa is actually kind of spicy, so watch it! My mouth was feeling the burn throughout the whole meal. Perfection. Staff was very polite and accommodating. A place for everyone to try!

This was an amazing stop while on my way to Athens. Great access off the hwy and easy access back to my trip. I tried fajitas & shrimp Both was good and filling for the ride on top my next destination.

We had them cater for us at a business luncheon. It was a time sensitive lunch for about 12 people. They exceeded all of our expectations. Food was ready and boxed up for me to take as soon as I got there. No waiting. The order was correct....No mistakes...The food was amazing and the portions were huge!!! We will definitely recommend them to cater any event and will use them again in the future.

Great little mexican eatery! great staff very attentive. Drinks are very tasty! Their house margaritas are delicious! My first visit, but vmy father-in-law has had everything on the menu and stated there wasn't anything he wouldn't order again. Definitely worth trying out!

Got a beef fajita quesadilla with beans and rice, and some shrimp fajitas with corn tortillas. Food was great, ready nice and quick. Yum!

It was actually really nice to actually get real barbacoa street tacos from an actual nice restaurant. My wife had an enchilada plate and she said it was very good. The portions served with the plates were of a nice size. The salsa was good and the queso with beef in it was very very good. Restrooms were clean and the restaurant is conveniently located. All in all definitely going to eat there again and would highly recommend it.

They always greet you with a smile 😃, and make sure that your order is correct, they make sure fresh food is always on your plate, very happy atmosphere, and the salsa and chips is unlimited, and the drinks 🍸 are absolutely amazing, out of all the restaurants in Kaufman this is the best, and the kids love the kids menu, the kids love their tacos and chicken stripes with French fries, so the grandkids gives this place two thumbs up, and it's hard to please kids these days. Well this used to be my favorite place tul now, they got kids running the restaurant, and I couldn't even cut into my food, the waitress was really nice but the head honcho girl with the big fake eye lashes snatched my plate up, with my silverware and said is there anything else I can get you. That was so rude of her, and when they brought my replacement plate had to eat with my chips because of no silverware, and it really looked liked someone spit under my food, because I sent my original plate back, who can eat rubber, so I didn't eat it but still paid for it and left, last time I ever order from them.... horrible, just horrible experience, 😢 very sad, a good place went bad 👎. Nope no more for me or my family, we used to spend 200 a month there,,,I will never spend another dime there.

As always great service. The waiter was amazing, attentive, personable, and especially informative. The food is always so so good there. We left with full tummies and full doggy bags.

My husband and I are in love with the Taco salad at La Pradera in Kaufman, Texas it is so delicious.

The food was attractive and tasty. Service was super, and our meals were nice and hot when served to the table. We really enjoyed our meal and the restaurant.

Tried this place couple of years ago and wasn’t impressed. BUT, it must have changed owners or cooks. Had stuffed avocado with charro beans and grilled veggies. Amazing, have to give the cook a high five. Thank you to the bartender who suggested this awesome meal.

I've eaten here a bunch of times and finally remembered to review it. They are always good and the service is friendly and attentive. They have the usual mix of good Tex Mex. The pic I included isn't on the menu but was exactly what I was in the mood for. Spinach enchilada, tamale, and veggies. The veggies aren't on the menu and I nearly drove to Gun Barrel City to a restaurant I knew had veggies, but decided to go here instead and ask if they had them. I was glad they did! Very tasty dinner. I'll be back!

BLUF (bottom line up front): excellent food work good portion sizes. On the road with a co-worker, we needed lunch and ended up here. We were promptly seated, then chips and a mildly spicy salsa were delivered to the table. (The spice is good! Who wants to do chips in a plain tomato sauce?) We ordered, and after an appropriate amount of time for the food to have been made fresh, it also was delivered to the table. My co-worker and I both commented to each other about how much meat they put into the enchiladas that were on our plates! They also didn't skimp on the tube and beans. And everything tasted fantastic! Over all, it was very tasty, completely filling, and in my opinion, worth every penny they charge for it!

Paul, our waiter was amazing!!!! Our drinks were never empty, our food came fast, the chips were hot. I had a basic bean burrito meal. It was basic. (In picture, there is one burrito missing) My fiance got the catfish dinner. Best. Catfish. I hate seafood but I ended up stealing his plate. At the end of our meal, Paul happily got us to go boxes, a chip bag, more salsa to bring home and a container for my queso, and even bagged it for us. We had a wonderful experience! Less than 25$ for us both to eat too. 10/10 Will go again.

My wife and I went here for lunch and they were busy. We didn't have to wait long to be seated . The service was pretty good. But the food was good and came out piping hot. Overall it was a good experience.

The fajitas are tasty and the service is good. My favorite is the El Jalapeño. After years of eating there we just discovered they offer a military discount. Apparently it is a non-advertised benefit. If you know what I mean. They should highlight that.

It was awesome, not only was it tasty but very affordable too. I've had the Wednesday special enchilada plate it came with 2 enchiladas your choice, beans and rice, medium queso with ground beef, very tasty I've loved it, all the tortilla chips I've wanted and endless sauce, a cup of coffee, all for 12 dlls. Went here for lunch and had their lunch special, fajita quesadillas. I was pleasantly surprised, they were very very good. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. I really appreciated the military discount. Every little bit helps. I will definitely come back here again for lunch

We met up with some family and had lunch. It was decent. My nephew ordered the catfish, and when it came out it, it looked so freaking good. I will definitely get that next time. Good Spot!

Everything was great with the exception of the chips hard as a rock next time I will ask for some new ones since they're made in house.

They were friendly, and attentive at first. Our waiter was working to big of an area and could not keep up. We were not fond of not receiving a check at the end of our meal. They hand you a handheld device with no breakdown of your charges. It just shows your total and ask you to sign. This makes things impersonal and you cannot check your charges.

The food was good. I don't have any complaints about it, it just wasn't anything that stood out. Service was excellent.

They need to seat people who are waiting on a party member they had 10 people sitting their waiting to be seated.they could be ordering drinks and be making more room for other people to sit down instead of having us stand up. But overall our food was good. Server was always coming to our to see if we were good. We will return.

We were there on Halloween, group of 8. They were able to seat us quickly. Serve us fast. 4 kids 4 adults. It was a 50/50 on food of who liked it and who didn't on flavor, size of portions etc. Ground beef was definitely not a favorite of any one. And portions seemed small on the Nachos. But will go there again and try something different, they were really nice.

The food is good and the service was ok. Main complaint is that the wife ordered the kids taco plate since she didn't feel like getting a lot of food, when the bill came we found out that 3 dollars was added because she wasn't a child. If she had known that she would have ordered something else. We also had to ask for fresh chips as the first ones brought had been under the heater so long they looked burnt.

The service was excellent; however I was disappointed in my lunch - tortilla soup. Very lackluster, hardly any avocado and the dark brown broth was not very tasty. Plus was way overly salted. Would not order tortilla soup here.

We had a wait time in the middle of the day. Server was extremely slow. I ordered full order of beef fajitas. Not very much meat. And didn’t have much flavor. My other party had chicken enchiladas. She said it was bland. I have been there other times it was good. Maybe they changed cooks or where they buy the food.

Second time at this particular location. OK food...not bad but not great. Service only so so. Chips tasted overcooked, margarita was standard house margaritas. Previous visit the queso tasted old and slightly burnt. Enough so that it overpowered my chimichanga. This restaurant is close to 4 stars if they just focused a bit more on quality control.

The staff is nice. The food is bland. Queso is like ricos out of can with rotel mixed in has a weird after taste. The sodas are off for some reason. Just all over not impressed.

Our service was very good. The food tasted like it was from a can. Not impressed and do not recommend.

Staff was friendly when we came in, and our waitress was very nice. Food was to par with every other smaller Mexican restaurant, i just got cheese enchiladas with rice and beans; their salsa was good as well. Overall average experience, neither super impressed nor disappointed👍🏻 On a completely different note, the gumball machine took my first quarter.. so I paid $.50 for a gumball instead of $.25...😅

Food was okay, salsa was pretty good, but with my food I did order a side salad instead of rice & beans and got charged for the ranch that went on it...found that to be a little messed up and our friend found a bug in her nachos and they did give her the entire meal free so that's good. Not the greatest but I have had much worse.

The service and atmosphere was better than the food.

Waitress inattentive, manager rude, requested pepper and onions on beef Quesidillas, couldn't find any on them after requested and manager said we would have to pay for. Didn't understand as it says on menu it's included. My husband had to get up and request tea.

Kaufman location. 4 stars. Love the enchiladas on Wednesday. Updated May 2021- service and food have declined tremendously. Don't get anything to go, whoever they have cooking does not care about the quality. Something is always missing, for the 2nd time I didn't get the guacamole with my order. We use to eat there once a week, now it's once a month.

Took a friend the other day and we ordered the basic beef fajita plates & something wasn’t right but I kept my mouth shut and tried to eat but my friend I noticed she only ate one or two fajita strips so I asked her if anything was wrong and she said she couldn’t eat it and I told her I was having to force mine down but didn’t want to say anything ! The waitress came and scooped up her fajitas with her hands and put them on a plate and we never saw her again, had to wait a long time to talk to the Mgr. and when we did it was obvious she wasn’t skilled at dealing with ppl, she didn’t offer a thing but would let you talk to see what she could get by with to appease you ! I told her they didn’t have any taste and I was having trouble eating mine also and really they were terrible ! I wasn’t even halfway done with mine but she wanted me to pay for my meal instead of offering us something else but gave a $10 discount on my friends meal ! WELCOME TO THE NEW WORLD PPL

It's been disappointing 4 times now. Service is mediocre. When you have a table, don't go sit where you can't see them. We had to go find someone for refills and the check. Food was eh... I remember the cancun shrimp tasting so much better. It wasn't very appealing today. The avocado wasn't ready to be served either.

Waited over 30 minutes after ordering food, still no food. Asked waitress how much longer and she never came back, had to ask another employee 10 minutes later. Literally watch 3 families get seated after us, order, eat and leave and we still had no food. When paying the bill I was asked how was everything. I was very clear service sucked, only response was "oh, sorry to hear that". Manager standing right there and physically no reaction. I do not recommend La Padera in Kaufman.

Just tried to eat here with a party of 7. They refused to seat us because everyone was not here. Also, we had to wear a mask on January 3rd 2022!!! We all are VAXED! This is not a commie state! So, they lost well over 100 bucks. If you like Freedom! Don’t eat here!

Very very poor customer service starting at the front door. Don't know about the food because I couldn't get to a table. After waiting 10 minutes in the lobby and having to stop someone to try to get seated I was told it would take even longer to be waited on at the table and to have a good day. BAD BUSINESS!!!!

Waited over an hour for my food in the drive thru. Last week the lady apologized. Got home only got half my order ( should’ve checked before I left) I tried calling no one ever answered my call. Go back tonight just for a kids burger and diner salad. 15 minutes before closing after waiting a few minutes at the window the lady said we are closed. Don’t close till 9 and still serving people in the restaurant. The manager comes to the window said “she can close whenever she wants to” serve has been getting worse every time I go. Wrong food and missing food in orders. I’m going to take my business elsewhere.

June 22 2023 I took my wife out for her birthday. Service was not so good. Server didn't listen to how we wanted our drinks or food. Then to top it off I woke up in the middle of the night with my stomach tore up. I know it was the catfish dinner I ate at La Pradera. Never again will I take my family and friends to La Pradera. Highly Disappointed in this restaurant. I have notified the City of Kaufman about me getting sick after eating the catfish dinner.

This place doesn’t even deserve one star. That’s how bad this place is. My boyfriend and I wanted to try this place since we are new to this city. From the very beginning customer service was just HORRIBLE. We were first seated and chips & salsa were served to us. More than 10 minutes pass by & our waitress has not even asked what we wanted to drink!!! Moral of the story our food sucked it was cold & raw. The prices of the food are insanely high priced. I’m not even sure the food is even worth the prices of it lol. Oh and my boyfriend & I got food poising 🙃🙃 so I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Me and my daughter decided to try this place out since it was on the way home. I could have saved my money! 1 star is actually an upgrade from this place. I order the chicken chimchanga it was nothing but cheese (it takes like cheese wiz). It was nasty. My daughter order the combo plate and the chicken was dry. She said it tasted like the dried chicken from a can. They did take some money off bill but my suggestion STAY AWAY. There has to be a better and more authentic Mexican restaurant somewhere

Would have rated higher because food was ok...taste was not bad, but not good either (though Taco Bell is actually better...lol). It was the after. Either the food was bad or they use SO much MSG. Made me sick and massive sharp stomach pains. The hostess was sweet. They forgot part of our food and the phone had non-stop busy signal. Wish we would have ordered from one of the higher rated restaurants, but this one was the only one where we could view the menu and order online. Next time we’ll grab a menu from one of the other places and just wait in the parking lot.

Witnessed an employee in the restroom taking a number 2 then gets up and walks right out the door.. walking around touching everything and when it I brought it up to the waitress all she could say was “o he only works in the front” but he was walking back to the kitchen touching stuff!! Never flushed nor washed his hands….

If you like weird tasting meat with plastic cheese, this is the place for you. I was coming back to East Texas on a trip to Dallas and decided to try this place, Man, it was awful. Worst Mexican food (if you can even call it that) I've ever had. Chips were stale, hot sauce was lousy, beef tacos were the worst and did not taste good at all. I don't know how one person can say this place is good. It's not . . . .

Staff need to be more attentive to their tables. You are being paid to work get off your phone. I had to call to ask for my check and to go box's and got up and got my own refill.

Over $55 for 2 cheese enchilada plates and an order of fajitas. Fajita meat was tough and dry. Chips taste like old grease. One cheese enchilada plate was fine but the other you could not even cut the enchiladas with out a knife. HORRIBLE!!

Came in with 5 people for lunch. They added a automatic gratuity to the bill. When I asked why they told me it was because we ordered 6 plates even though we only had 5 people. Normally a gratuity is added with larg parties of 8 or more, 5 people with 6 plates of food is not a large party and the 6th plate was not even a meal it was a side. You lost a customer I will not be coming back to your establishment.

Would not seat us until one other person got here. Took forever to get served. Sure your short employees. I don't mind that . But our food came cold and everything was hard and waitress did not care and just snickered we did not eat the cold food and got billed 68.00 . Not coming back.

The server was rude and the service was slow. People who arrived after us were done eating before we could even order even with the same server. Table side guac was not even made at the table and we’re still charged the table side price. We sat for 20 minutes before we could order. When I said something about the service and server being rude to the manager she was even rude about it. Stated they only had 2 servers. I work in this industry and I would never treat a customer this way. We ended up getting our food Togo.

I ordered beef enchilada with beans and rice. Does that look like beans and rice or like an enchilada you would eat! Literally the worst food I've ever had.

They never get your order correct when it's Togo. They get our Togo order wrong more that 50% of the time. Then they are rude on the telephone to you acting like it's your fault they can't get it right. My receipt is right but the food is different than the receipt. Also I left a review less than 2 weeks ago about this exact thing,but I guess they take down the bad reviews cause the last review they say was left was 3months ago and 5 stars. I don't know how they train their employees but it's not working. Whoever owns this place needs to deal with management, they are the problem. I'm sure if my orders are wrong this often then there a many many more wrong orders going out. Larry

My wife and I stopped at this location for lunch today. The waitress could care less about taking our order. We both ran out of salsa and beverages, the waitress walked by several times and didn’t offer to refill salsa or beverages. We had to flag down a waiter to bring us napkins. All the staff were either texting on their phones, or watching tv at the bar. My wife had to call the restaurant from our booth to get the manager to bring us the ticket. We definitely will not eat at this restaurant again, or recommend it to anyone!

This was absolutely the worst dinner I have ordered out! Burrito was tortilla and unseasoned hamburger meat with can nacho cheese on top. I would give it zero Stars if I had the option. The quesadilla chicken tasted like old chicken and was very very greasy. This place used to be so good. What happened to the standard here???

One server, Andrew, will make very lewd jokes and I personally did not enjoy eating there. The food is alright but our server did not treat us well. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

Order mine and my grandkids dinner through the drive up window. When I got our order one dish was missing. I only ordered 3 things. The waitress doing the drive though. Said oh I didn't get that. Though the grandkids in the car said you ordered it correct. So I paid for the 3rd meal. Had to wait another 15 minutes, while or the carry out was getting cold. I talked to the manager. And funny she said there was nothing she could do. Her GM had been in the day before and said for them not to do anything for the customer. And said she hadn't to the lady taking our order yet. I said they waitress could get three items correct. Two of the meals was the same. They offered to warm our meals up. Told her no. One meal that was in a aluminum container had the cold food stuck to the container. So I would not recommend this restaurant. If they get something wrong you still pay full price. When they can't do their job. I won't be back. Oh by the way not sure if it matters but I spent almost 75 dollars through drive thru and had the worse food when I got home. If it was a mistake I made i could understand. But it was there mistake and I still paid.

The service was great but the food tasted like everything came in a can and was microwaved after it had been sitting out all day. Will not be going back. This is the first time we’ve been in 5 years because the last time we were here we found a bug in our food. Figured we would give it another chance since it had been so long but this time wasn’t any better.

I do not recommend going to La Pradera in Kaufman. The food is often bad and consistently fails to meet expectations, regardless of whether you eat there or order takeout. Also, when you attempt to speak with a "manager" about problems with the food or missing parts of an order, you are been treated poorly by the staff who are unprofessional and display a lack of customer service training. This location is the prime reason there are so many Mexican restaurants in Kaufman.

He brought me worse salsa than the FIRST, really trying to look out for them but if you disregard something this small , imagine if I order fish and you gave me shrimp or cooked on same residue and I clearly told you I have shellfish allergy please get the right people in management that understand the detrimental effect of disregarding rotten or spoiled food. Ask for cheese in place of salsa and got charged extra even though they knew salsa was rotten. If Owner is reading this, please talk to your staff. Negligence on waitress and manager now. And refund me my 2.99

I had chicken fajitas and my chicken was over cooked and poorly seasoned My husband had the ultimate fajitas his meat tasted like it was a week old he had the same issue with his chicken dry and flavorless the rice was bland beans had a weird taste. If this is what this restaurant does when covid isn't at its height then they have issues. They need to go back to the way they were doing it during covid. The chips and salsa was good. But that's about it! This trip was a waste of time and $42. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!
