What a fantastic evening at First Flight. We sat outside with the pyramid glass heaters on to take the chill out of the air. We enjoyed some great appetizers, and entrees. The yellow snapper (whole) was light with a crispy outside, paired with fresh sautéed veggies and Spanish rice. The brisket Mac and cheese was flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The fish and chips was also light and crispy. Don’t miss out on the key lime pie with chocolate graham cracker crust to finish out the meal. Overall, we appreciated the attention to detail with the meal preparation, service and ambiance. We will definitely return!

What a great place here. The staff was outstanding! Angel Mitzi and Damien to name a few, were top notch. I was on vacation and came here everyday. Food and drinks were great. The atmosphere was perfect. Everyone seemed happy. No doubt I'm coming here again.

Recommended by a friend and First Flight did not disappoint. The fish tacos were fantastic and stuffed with fish. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Don't skip the potatoes. They're worth every calorie. We took forever to decide on which of the First Flight beers to try. Can't remember what we decided on, but it was cold and delicious. We appreciated the bartenders patience and help. First Flight is in a historic building where Pan Am airlines started. Take a minute to read the history on the menu and walk around the building.

We had such an amazing night here celebrating my mom’s 70th birthday. The food and drinks were great, but the service was honestly above and beyond. The staff helped pull off an epic surprise of my moms friends surprising her AND when my phone died as I tried to video the moment, a member of the staff pulled out her phone and took the most amazing video, texting it to us immediately after. Cannot say enough good things about this place and the whole environment! Would 100% absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Key West!

Came in during happy hour and sat at the "Crash Bar" (the outdoor bar with the airplane wing surface). Ordered the Maverick IPA and the Beef Brisket Mac & Cheese. Great food, drinks, and atmosphere.

Nice laid back spot with great vibes for some drinks. The outdoor patio is really nice with greenery and decor. We came during happy hour and enjoyed our simple drinks, fries, and pretzel bites. Wouldn’t recommend the brisket Mac and cheese which wasn’t flavorful. It has typical bar food and drinks, nothing crazy here but a nice simple spot for a good time.

The warm brownie dessert was amazing as well as the French fries. Highly recommend trying out. Make sure to get a reservation because it does get crowded.

This bar restaurant offers live music and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend trying their house Captain Maverick IPA; it’s truly delicious 👍

We really enjoyed our recent dinner at First Flight while on vacation. We started with their DI PARMA flatbread which was phenomenal. I chose their fish tacos for main dish. They were a little spicy but tasted great. My husband had their swordfish & was very happy with his choice. The atmosphere is so enjoyable & they have a beautiful outdoor seating area. Service was a little slow off the start, but I didn't have to cook or wash dishes! There was a wedding taking place upstairs which was neat to watch. Definitely recommend a visit.

The restaurant has a unique historical atmosphere and a pleasant setting, which makes the visit memorable. The food was tasty and well-presented, and the service was attentive and friendly. However, the prices are on the higher side, so it may not be the best option if you are looking for a casual or budget-friendly dining experience. Overall, it is a nice place to visit for the atmosphere and quality, but be prepared for higher costs.

Key West history. Great food just a hair off Duval near Hair of the Dog! The atmosphere is what you expect of KW. Eat inside or in their garden. Relax, have a cocktail and enjoy the local vibe. You’re Welcome!

Stopped in for a light lunch in this delightful, shaded outdoor courtyard. We shared a few appetizers which were all excellent. The outdoor seating was very shady and comfortable. The service was excellent, attentive but not rushed. Highly recommend.

We visited First Flight on Christmas Eve and had a great experience! It’s a really casual, comfortable space inside with fantastic staff. Carolyn was our waitress but EVERYONE who works in the dining room is extremely friendly and attentive to every table. The food was fantastic … we started off with the Deviled Eggs (comes with deep fried jalapeños) and some excellent Clams in an amazing beer broth. Definitely grab the clams! For dinner we had the swordfish which was very good BUT the whole fried Red Snapper was OFF THE CHARTS! The best flavor ever, and unbelievably moist! Highly recommend First Flight — and we’ll be back!

Just stopped in for a couple of cocktails. Didn't have time to try the food, but the menu looked pretty standard for Key West. Service and mojitos were great.

Great food! Loved the presentation of the corn appetizer! Beer was pretty good. Seating area outside was really nice, but could have used some additional fans. Would eat there again!

Loved the outdoor seating, Sitting under banyon trees. We opted for appetizers for a light lunch. Smoked fish dip was so good, and was the tuna poke. Great service, not rushed

Came here on a family trip and celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. Relaxing but lively brick open courtyard, refreshing drinks and beers, great service, food and vibes. Highly recommend!

Stopped in with a group of 9 right at opening, not very busy at all during the week. Food was awesome, we went light just to have some snacks before bar hopping the rest of the day. Sitting out under the Banyan trees was beautiful and not too hot even at 11:30 in June. Food took a while to come out but was worth the wait.

What a cool place! My wife and I stopped for dinner on a Tuesday night. Not too crowded. Service: staff were awesome. Very friendly and attentive Location: great spot in old Town, and convenient to get to. The building itself is pretty cool, especially knowing it was once one of the headquarters for Panam. Which definitely inspired great decor there. Plenty of great outdoor seating too; the outdoor area is very well setup Food: delicious! Started with the Tuna poke, which was very good. I had the island chicken pasta as my entree. The chicken was cooked well and sauce was delicious. My wife had the fish tacos, which were also very tasty. Historic building. Good service. Good food. Definitely worth a stop!

I would say to the tourists like me seek this place out. Even from the cruise ship it's a short walk. Ok happy hour price are some of the best. Key lime creme ale is amazing. Their Mac and cheese is something you can make a meal out of. If just visiting for happy hour this is a great choice as is the pretzel bites. I would ask why isn't brisket a dinner option? Why not have more grilled fish from the waters around key west. This is a hidden gem because you need Google gps to guide you because we walked passed this place twice in our day and never noticed. We will be back in the future

J

Great vibes and super easy going. We sat in the courtyard on a beautiful day and enjoyed several of their locally crafted beers. The Bavarian pretzel was fresh and warm and the breaded jerk wings were delicious. We will definitely come back the next time we are visiting Key West.

If you’re looking at this review don’t hesitate to go to this great restaurant! Everything was great! Bathrooms were clean and atmosphere was perfect!

First Flight is awesome! When this bar transitioned from Kelly’s years ago, we paused coming because they just needed time to get it right. Well, go back now, run back. They have it down! The bar staff is amazing and they make this place fun. Their drinks are really great. We went back 4 times last month for happy hour, dinner, trivia, and good times! Their restaurant is great too but we prefer the bar. Key lime margaritas and martinis up are so yummy! They make an awesome espresso martini too. Sometimes we just enjoy a beer. They have some really creative flavors. Food selection is great. Happy hour menu is good. Dinner choices are good. You can’t go wrong here as there’s something for everyone, even picky eaters. The deviled eggs are a favorite of ours. We get them every time. The big pretzel is one of the best I’ve ever had. Beef short ribs mac and cheese and seafood pastas were both so good. Key lime pie dessert was unique with a chocolate crust and was so delicious! Kudos to First Flight (formerly Kelly’s). You got it right! We love you again!!

A quintessential Key West go-to. We’re frequenters on the Island and this is a place we stop nearly every time. Located a few blocks off Duval, it’s worth the walk. There’s semi-indoor seating for when the heat is too much, and a beautiful courtyard under the trees when it’s cooler. The service is always great and the food delicious. They have some of the best Mahi tacos with a tropical mango salsa flair. Of course you’ve got to try a flight of beer. Highly recommend.

C

Right across from Harry Truman's White House, I had the best mahi taco ever made here. Beans and rice came with it and could eat those with every meal. Wow!!

Terrific food, fantastic cocktails (seriously - the bartenders are top notch) and awesome beer! We were in Key West twice last week on vacation, and we stopped by each time. The location is perfect - close to all the action but off the "main road", the atmosphere is awesome (huge outdoor space) and the staff is amazing. The only minor drawback - the key lime pie dessert doesn't really compete with some of the local shops. I appreciate the attempt to stand out (oreo crust and a firmer pie) but the pie was a bit too firm and there just wasn't any lime flavor in it. Everything out though - absolutely amazing.

Our waitress was wonderful. You can get a flight of beer here, which I recommend to try their home brews. We got all apps and they were all perfect for our “girl dinner”

Arrived 20 minutes before the scheduled dinner opening at 4pm and was allowed to be seated early which was convenient. We were able to get the large pretzel ($12) from the lunch menu. Tried a Pusser’s Pain Killer and Strawberry Limeade, ($12 each) both were very good. For dinner we had the Grouper ($39) and Brewery Burger ($20.) Each dish was delicious. The grouper was a bit expensive for what you get in my opinion. The fries that came with the burger were not the best. There’s outdoor seating. Overall not a bad place to have dinner, I’d suggest going with Happy Hour items. On another visit, I tried the Caribbean Chicken Alfredo and it was very well made.

The food is great and atmosphere is awesome. The lobster tail was perfect, the tuna was great, the pork was very tender and the grouper was unbelievable. We will definitely come back here. Also they Brew their own beer. How great is that. Food and beer!!

The best dinner I’ve ever had! The chef prepared our fresh grouper and snapper we caught on a charter and it was delicious, everything on the table was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. The chef completely catered to all of us.

I would recommend stopping by and enjoying this place if u are in Key West. Nice location, laid back, great service, and great food and brews. Walk in and be seated, with multiple seating arrangements to choose from. We started with the pretzel bites which were great, and then had the fish tacos and the scallops. Both were excellent, reasonably priced, and very high on presentation and taste. For brews, we had the Nuts and Bolts, along with the Endless Summer, both being fantastic. Stop by, sit back, relax, enjoy the atmosphere, great food and a beverage, and you won't be disappointed.

Great food, and the best beer on the island. Try the corn ribs appetizer - delicious! They’ll can beer to go, but we found it was flat by the second day, so just take what you’ll want for that day.

First Flight Island Restaurant & Brewery was one of the highlights of my Key West trip! The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, with a perfect island vibe. The food was fresh and flavorful, the drinks were amazing, and the service was friendly and attentive. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, enjoy great food, and soak in the Key West charm. Definitely a must-visit! 🍹🌴✨

D
Donna McCoy

We really enjoyed our time at First Flight, from the atmosphere to the food! But we especially enjoyed the service. Lorena was wonderful—attentive, personable and a joy to interact with. The conch fritters were good, as were the steak tacos, tropical salad, and swordfish. A varied menu with reasonable prices.

E
Eddie Bolton

The perfect place to escape the business of Duval for a delicious drink and a tasty appetizer. The Deviled eggs were exceptional and the wings were delicious. The fun and friendly staff were quick to help and made top notch cocktails. The environment feels like an oasis and if you didn’t know any better, you’d never know you were only blocks away from the craziness of Duval.

My wife and I hosted our wedding reception here at First Flight and I could not have asked for a better experience. The planning process was extremely smooth and the staff at First Flight was accommodating throughout the entire process. The catering menu and prices were available online and the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Everyone complimented the food with most guests saying it was the best wedding food that they have ever had. The event/catering packages offered for food and drinks made everything on the day of the event so easy. The team at First Flight was so nice and I can recommend this location enough. If/when we visit Key West again, we will definitely visit First Flight!

Great history and atmosphere here. Cool story, great happy hour and some tasty microbrews. Maverick is my choice for the beer people. Happy hour is 4 to I don’t know after that. Service courteous and friendly. Back deck has amazing banyans and some old hardwoods. Chill live music too.

Came here on Christmas Day and enjoyed everything. Server was great and took care of us well. Food was good but limited menu. Cocktails and IPA’s were very well done by the bar. Only downside was the food took almost an hour to come out but other than that it was a great experience and we will be back to visit.

T
Tammy Jerig

The patio is a lovely garden with orchids and trees. The food is tasty. We recommend the dish tacos. If you are looking for a great key lime pie, this is not your place. While beautifully served and smooth and creamy, you can barely taste any lime.

C
CMB Caspanello

This restaurant is a large, beautiful space, with indoor and outdoor seating. Cool, comfortable environment on the inside even though it's still somewhat open. The food was decent, and the drinks were good, but beer wasn't as cold as it should be. Salads were crispy and meat cooked well. Tacos were good with flavorful tortilla. They brew their own beers and have a quaint gift shop on site.

J
James Riegel

Definitely recommend this place, atmosphere was outstanding. Food seemed a little overpriced. Beer was great.

M
Melissa Kincaid

Was recommended by a relative. Glad we went. We sat outside which is set up very nicely! There are planes constantly going by overhead however. Had a flight of their IPA's. Had a Chicken Cesear Salad and the deviled eggs w/beer battered Jalapeno's. All were great and service was good. Definitely give them a try

T
Tea Mak

The ambiance and open air space was next level and the bar was great. Loved the history and merch, too. The food and service were OK. I’d go back but will probably just stay at the bar.

M

So as a craft beer guy, I think personally, Untappd doesn't do this place justice. Their Captain IPA can easily hold up with the big guys. Their Red is very solid too. The food is awesome, as is the staff. I highly recommend you check this place out in KW. You will not be disappointed.

K
Katie Pugh

Recommended to us by a local, really nice garden area to eat at. Burger was great! Salad and corn ribs also very delicious. Unfortunately the Steak taco and fries were really bad. Would still go back and stick to the burger though. Environment and service both very lovely.

K
Kate Betancourt

Cute spot. We sat inside as the weather was on the cool side. Waitress was friendly and efficient, even as things got busy. Food was average, though the soup of the day (potato leek) was excellent! Husband had Carribean Alfredo which I thought was bland but he enjoyed it. I had a wedge salad with blackened chicken (which was dry and a pretty meager portion). Typical Key West vibe with live music. It was fine, but with all the competition in Key West, it wouldn’t be in my top 5.

G
Ginny Rafidi

We were a big party of 10 people on New Year's Day and asked to be seated inside(I called ahead) (it was chilly). They told me over the phone, sure no problem. When we showed up for our reservation, they seated us outside and didn't seem to know anything about our request to be seated inside. They did move over a portable heater close to our table, so that helped. Hit and miss on the food. It took forever. Then the lobster bisque was lukewarm. They took it right back and heated it up. The skirt steak was extremely salty(could have been the sauce). The pretzel was awesome. The shrimp flatbread was good. The biggest disappointment was the key lime pie. It tasted like vanilla cheesecake, no key lime flavor at all. We told them and they took it off the bill(very nice of them). Lastly were the condition of the restrooms - disgusting is all I can say. First the men actually complained about the awful restroom. Then the ladies said the ladies room was just as bad. Really gross and just kind of set a bad experience for the restaurant overall. This restaurant is not inexpensive and should have paid more attention to the cleanliness of the restrooms.

C

The location and history of this place is what you go here for. It's cool to see what they have done with the first Pan America ticket place by turning it into a restaurant. The atmosphere is in the back yard of a house it seems like and there are even chickens running around like you would expect in Cuba. It's honestly really cool. Also, I have to say, the staff here was polite, courteous, and welcoming. I have nothing bad to really say about this. Here is the part where it falls short. I should have taken pictures, but I ordered the $38 swordfish which presentation wise looked great. However, it did not taste great at all. It was bland and seemed as if it might have been frozen previously. It had a certain refrigerator or freezer taste in once section and was cooked warm enough. However, the water content in it may be because it was thawed and then cooked. Even if this is not the case, the fish was very bland, with little to no flavor, and had to be over salted. It comes with Avocado Jasmine rice which was actually way tastier than the fish. If it were possible to just have that, it would have been a better meal. My girlfriend bought the brisket macaroni and cheese and the color of it looked like it wasn't going to be good. Sadly, it wasn't great, but it was better than my swordfish. If eating here, I wouldn't suggest going for pricey stuff and stick to the more simple stuff such as fries, burgers, and other not complicated entrees. Lastly, the gift shop is pretty cool. they have a lot of cool things in there that are really awesome looking. Do not come here expecting top quality food. Come for the ambience and pleasantness.

My reason for the low rating was because of the server. If I knew I was going to be treated like the way we were, I would've never stepped foot in here. We decided to try First Flight as we were making our way back to our cruise ship. We were thinking this would be an awesome place to relax, cool down with some cold drinks and fill up on some delicious food. We waited a few seconds at the hostess station due to no one being there. A woman then comes out of the bar asking if we had reservations. We said no and we asked if we should make one. She did tell us a reservation was not needed. The place wasn't busy so I was surprised we needed a reservation. She then sat us and provided us menus. Our server comes over within a few seconds after being seated asking if we wanted some drinks from the bar. We told him not at the moment because we hadn't had a chance to view the menu. He became irritated by this. We opted for a couple of pretzels for the table. He was filing our glasses with iced water and making a mess on the floor and table by over filing the glasses. Maybe the ice and water on the floor is for the chickens. He then comes back to check on us to get our food order and we wanted a few beers. He seemed irritated that we now wanted drinks from the bar. He took our food/drink order. A few moments later our apps came out with our beers. The food came out shortly after that. We were a party of seven so we shared a couple of pretzels. Some of us ordered some jerk chicken sandwiches, the tuna steak, and the brewery burger. The side pasta salads that came with the sandwiches can be a meal on its own. The serving was huge. I had no complaints from my kids about their food. The food and pretzels were delicious. The pretzels were some of the best I have ever had. The cheese sauce that comes with the pretzel was on another level! I'm not sure if our server was having a bad day but he seemed bothered as if we were an inconvenience to him. We even asked about the chickens that were roaming in the restaurant and that set him off. I could tell by the look in his eyes that he was done with us.
