First time my fiancé and I came to this new location for Valentine's Day weekend. The food met my expectation and our server Alexander had been attentive since we were seated. Food is QUALITY! We ordered their special V-day wagyu dumplings which came with dumpling sauce(vinegar/soy sauce) and I cannot have anything without chili oil. We ordered an additional food off their menu, egg drop soup as our appetizer, steamed pork & crab meat juicy dumplings and shrimp & scallion noodles, were all VERY tasty, especially the garlic in the noodles. Lastly, we ordered tiramisu heart cake and it was excellent! We would like to thank Alex for our wonderful experience!
This is a great dining experience if you like szechuan dishes. They are spicy. Practically every dish from appetizers to main dishes was delectable. Our server from Bangkok was funny, engaging, and attentive. I recommend this place. It's not cheap, though. But you'll love it. ❤️
I cannot stop thinking about the dim sum at Dragon House, especially their truffle dumplings. Literally unforgettable! 🥟✨ The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. The food came out fresh, flavorful, and so beautifully made. Every single dish we tried was delicious, but those dumplings… I’m still dreaming about them! The atmosphere was perfect too. modern, warm, and such a good vibe for dinner. The service was great, and everything felt really smooth and enjoyable. I’m already planning my next trip back and bringing everyone I know. If you love dumplings or just want a great dining experience, you have to try this place!
Few restaurants leave a permanent impression for excellent quality and service on the first visit. The Dragon House is one of those establishments. After our first visit, we couldn't believe this was the norm, so we decided to wait until the second visit to post a review. Unlike most "American" Chinese restaurants, The Dragon House sets the bar for Chinese cuisine. The service staff is friendly and cordial. They time the dishes, giving time to finish appetizers and then entrees. The atmosphere is comfortable and well-designed without being ostentatious. As for the food, it sits at the pinnacle of Chinese food in the area. The LoMein noodles are perfectly cooked with a nice glaze of sauce. The Calamari is a blend of spices that layers flavor on top of flavor. I highly recommend the lunch menus, which is what I order most of the time. The portions are more than filling. You might want to share if you're a light eater. The Kung Pao chicken is perfect. The General Tso's chicken is the best I have ever eaten. Only one dish, could use some adjustment. The Spicy Braised Beef soup could do with less noodles and more broth. The Dragon House costs more than "regular" Chinese restaurants, but it's worth it now and then. We look forward to every visit to try something new.
We came in for dinner on a Saturday evening and the food was outstanding. We started with the chicken egg rolls which were a bit chewy and underwhelming and they were out of the cucumber salad...BUT the dumplings were perfectly steamed and full of flavor a definite highlight. The fried rice, noodles, and orange chicken were all fresh, well-seasoned, and served hot. Portions were generous and everything was beautifully presented. We sat at the bar, and while the service wasn’t bad, it wasn’t particularly attentive either. Nothing that ruined the experience, but it did feel a bit more “hands-off” than expected. Overall, the food more than made up for it, and we’d happily come back again for another meal.
OMG for me the best DFW Chinese restaurant ever!!! Anna Z she was so amazing on the service food on time. She even show us the dough for the hand made noodles we loved!!! Amazing flavors good cocktails, perfect! just perfect tasty food! We usually drive 45 min to come here on the Toll but it really worth it!
The food was absolutely phenomenal!! Each and every dish that my family and I had ordered was delicious! Highly recommend the honey walnut shrimp and any of the dim sums!! We’ve been trying different things almost every time we’ve returned! Service was impeccable! They were very attentive even when it was super busy! Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just want a delicious meal, I highly recommend coming here!
Very nice place! Good food and service. We had the opportunity to try the new Ube crepe, which was delicious, courtesy of the chef. My husband and I ordered noodles, I got the spicy one and it was good. It wasn’t too spicy and I could enjoy all of it. The meat was cut into pieces, not layered as it’s common in other places, but still soft and juicy. I’ll definitely come back! The waitress was very nice and helped us choose the desert. The matcha tiramisu was really good but you should about if you don’t enjoy the bitterness.
We went here for my birthday and it was an absolute treat. Amanda N. was a fantastic waitress and was very attentive and informative. She took great care of us and made sure we had what we needed at regular intervals. The food was amazing, especially for the price. We had the Peking Duck, dumplings, shrimp fried rice with extra egg on top, and Mongolian Beef and all were wonderful. Compliments to the chefs and cooks in the back. The drinks were great as well. The ambiance was low-key and you can see into the kitchen and what they are cooking if you want. We had a great experience. Thanks Amanda N.!
Hands down the best Dumplings I have had since moving to Dallas! Everyone else has been so disappointing but this place is amazing! We got the giant soup dumpling and it was very tasty with lots of soup! I would say the only issue we had was the pork & crab meat dumplings the bottom was too soft and kept breaking. No matter how we picked it up the bottom would just disintegrate and all the soup would spill out. I don’t know if it was just cooked too long or the bottom was too thin but hopefully that was a one off experience. Also we did wanted to try the handmade mochi, but unfortunately they didn’t have anymore and sold out which was weird because we got there at 3:30pm on a Thursday. We also got the hand pulled noodle! The texture and cook on those were perfection. The waitress was very attentive and professional. Loved it here!
They have opened this location not too long ago. We have been to the Southlake location, and customers here in highland village have had a lot of great positive comments as we sat down. Today is the first time trying this location. We are pleasantly surprised. We loved the food, the staff and management was very engaging and attentive. Great service. The food was really good. I felt like I could be a good snob, being from NYC and trying out a lot of good quality food, travel to Asia for work trips, sample street foods and all. They polished up this location and the food was really good. Our waiter was Rose, she went over the popular items with us, and the manager Mr John was very cool. 😁👍 I recommend this place. It's good for kids and adults of all ages. Authentic food here in Texas.
Updated Review: Called the manager Scott based on their response below, placed another order with request for less oil on Wednesday. This time the food was really on point and everyone loved it. Scott went above and beyond to follow up on the experience post the order. He did provide a 50% concession on the new order as a good will gesture during pickup. Fridays and Saturdays maybe very busy nights where quality of food might not be at par. Original review: Ordered food from here as they are on resy. The first time ordered in September for a birthday everyone liked the food. Was not mind blowing but everyone liked it. Thought of ordering food for our anniversary thinking of some good food and very disappointed with the quality of food. Really let down. Each dish lacked flavor, the peanut sauce handpulled noodle felt like they added peanut butter in the noodle. The chicken dishes tasted like the boiled chicken was added to batch precooked sauce. From what I read, looks like this restaurant used to be really popular pre-covid. Gave this restaurant a second shot thinking it would be better but was a let down. Wondering why I spent $70 on 3 dishes that tasted so bad. Definite let down for an Asian restaurant, lots of opportunity to improve as the ambience and location are a big plus. Really hope they can get it together and best wishes. Honestly, Panda express would've been better for the flavor profile and cost.
Food is legit. Dim sum is absolutely the best in the area. Those lanterns hanging from the ceiling create serious atmosphere - they nailed the design. Service is flawless, which explains the 5-star rating there. Here's the reality check: it's Chinese food. Delicious, authentic Chinese food loaded with enough sodium to turn you into a walking salt lick. That cucumber salad? Probably has more sodium than the Dead Sea. The dim sum is phenomenal - perfectly steamed, beautifully presented, flavors on point. This is what good Chinese cooking looks like when done right. But let's keep it real about what you're signing up for: you'll leave satisfied and probably retaining enough water to float a small boat. That's not their fault - that's authentic Chinese cuisine.
Appetizers were great, main courses otherwise good but Spicy Chicken was unnecessarily oily and not very spicy (with couple of bone or other hard residues included in the price). The place itself is nicely decorated but the experience naturally depends on which table you're located. I personally did not enjoy the view of the roasted ducks hanging behind the glass but this is personal preference. Service was otherwise nice but I cannot appreciate when they force feed you the check before all people in the table haven't even finished the main course. After that was sorted out, Dubai chocolate seemed to please my Ladies. Overall, could go again to try something different but not my new favorite joint yet.
We ordered the Flying Dragon in the Sky, which includes Szechuan dan dan noodles, ginger scallion lobster, and a whole Peking duck. Unfortunately, I do not recommend ordering this set. The ginger scallion lobster was the worst lobster I’ve had-hard as a rock, overcooked, and completely lacking flavor. On the positive side, the Peking duck was good and well prepared, and the dan dan noodles were flavorful and velvety. If you plan to dine here, I’d suggest skipping the lobster and sticking with the duck and noodles.
I was deeply disappointed with the quality of the food I received, which arrived cold. The delivery person did not even bring it to my doorstep. Despite the snow on my driveway, which prevented me from walking down to retrieve it from DoorDash, I was unable to do so. I had to ask my wife, who is 63 years old, to go down the street and get it for me. The main dish, spicy chicken, was reheated. Egg role I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food that was delivered. In fact, my wife gave it to the dog. The service was so poor that I had to resort to that. You must improve your service. Southlake’s quality is significantly better, and I was very excited when I learned that there would be a restaurant here in Highland Village. I am in above knee ampere and why the delivery driver could not walk into my door the reason why I couldnot walk down myself and get it it's because of my disability. I am 100%. Disable. I spend approximately me $60 for lunch and that was for one person
