The food was unbelievable. I've eaten in some nice restaurants at home, and this would stand up against any of them. The cocktails were especially delicious - the Berry sensation came with a rose in the glass, which was beautiful, and we ordered the creamy espresso for "pudding." I had the tempura shrimp, which was incredibly crispy, and my partner had the steak tartar, which came with some theatre. The main courses were really lovely too. Highly recommend.

Does this restaurant have any faults?! I don’t think it does. We came when it first opened last year when we arrived for our honeymoon. One year later we knew this had to be the spot for our first night meal - stunning food, gorgeous drinks and extremely good waiting staff. They have done this little corner of La Cala proud. Previous establishment in this building SHOULD have been this but couldn’t get it right. This owner has hit the nail on the head with the menu, decor etc. this is just what La Cala needed and we hope to come back for years to come. Figaro, you have won our hearts!

Fantastic service! We came across this little cozy restaurant during Christmas season and decided to go in to spend our 24th of December. We where immediately welcomed (without reservation) and served with a small glass of cava & delicious 2 small piece cheesy entrées. We then ordered some wine, two starters of goat cheese croute, mushroom wellington a risotto and curry for main dish. All generous porciones and delicious. I usually order dessert but we were very satisfied and unfortunately couldn't handle more food. Definitely going back.

I had made a reservation in advance, and they gave us the most beautiful table with these charming wooden chairs. The table was decorated so sweetly with birthday confetti — such a lovely touch! From the very first moment, the service was simply outstanding. Warm, attentive, genuinely kind — they made me feel so incredibly welcome and special. I can truly say it was some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. The food? Absolutely amazing. I had the fish, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and we also tried the steak — equally incredible. Every single one of us at the table was genuinely happy with their dish. Even the amuse-bouche at the beginning was fresh, creative, and delicious. We were also greeted with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, which made the evening feel even more festive. And then — just when I thought it couldn’t get better — they surprised me with a birthday dessert, complete with singing and a mini table firework. It was magical. I felt so seen and celebrated — it turned into an unforgettable evening. This place truly offers something special. Yes, it might be a little more on the higher end in terms of pricing, but the quality of the food and the exceptional service make it absolutely worth it. Excellent. Full stop. Not only did we have the best meal we’ve had in a few years, by the buzz in the restaurant you could tell everyone else felt the same. The venison was stunning. Risotto generous and full of flavour. Attentive and skilled staff. We book Figaro as soon as we book our flights to Malaga.

Wir hatten einen sehr tollen Abend im Figaro! Zu Beginn wurde ein Glas Sekt zur Begrüßung aufs Haus serviert, was wir sehr schön fanden. Es gab einen Gruß aus der Küche vom allerfeinsten! Wir hatten die Muscheln und den Spargel als Vorspeise, sehr lecker und überaus liebevoll angerichtet. Tollen Wein und die Hauptspeisen ( beide Fischgänge) waren ein Gedicht und wurden mit sehr phantasievollen und schmackhaften Beilagen serviert. Der Service war über den ganzen Abend aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Das Ambiente würde sich auch in Marbella sehen lassen können. Der Abend wird uns in guter Erinnerung bleiben. Das Lokal ist bestens geeignet für einen besonderen Anlass und wir werden sicher bald wieder dort einkehren. Wunderbar! Danke schön für Alles!❤️🍀

Excellent restaurant and delicious food. We had a good time and the place is nicely hidden from the main street in a quiet corner. I had tuna tartare, angus beef filet and crème brûlée. And can recommend all of them. One star deduction for the service, as we indicated already in our reservation that some members of our group require lactose and gluten free food, and we repeated this during ordering, but still got some dishes with wheat in them. I got the impression that our waitress did not understand what gluten free means. Tip for the restaurant, please indicate allergens on the menu, it makes life easier for both sides. One tip for the fellow diners, if you order a steak, describe how you want it cooked, as they are using a bit different scale than what I’m used to and I first got a steak that was overcooked. After clearing that with the waiter I got a new steak that was cooked to perfection.

Amazing little restaurant, extremely welcoming. Very friendly staff. We had a few cocktails to start each, all of which were amazing. The food was quite honestly fantastic, the chateaubriand was cooked to perfection, served beautifully with a selection of vegetables. The peppercorn sauce was a great accompaniment. We also had the fillet steak and (in her opinion) was the best they had ever had. Cooked medium rare to perfection. Finally, the limoncello cheesecake was smooth and rich in taste presented beautifully and accompanied by a nice cold limoncello in a large glass served over ice. All in all a great little restaurant. Booking recommended as it was full, I can honestly see why. We will be going back. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful evening.

Me and the wife had lunch here and we were blown away. We are both foodies and have been to several michelin restaurants and high end restaurants all over the world, but we didnt expect to find food of such quality in this casual and relaxed restaurant in La Cala de Mijas. Our original intention of a light lunch was quickly replaced by an enthusiastic run down the menu. The lunch menu consists of small dishes (tapas style), so you can pick 2-3 dishes to get your fill. In total, we ended up with 6 dishes between the two of us, we started with 4 but quickly decided on having 2 more despite feeling fairly full, as we got excited by the well made food and saw a few more things that we would like to try on the menu. The food is very tasty, well presented and the pricing is not bad considering the quality. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the way they dress is a small hint of their ambitions with this restaurant. Our biggest letdown was the Creme Brulée, it was good, but compared to all the other dishes and desserts we tried it was a bit bland. It was more pudding than creme, although its presentation was very good. I will still give the whole experience a 10/10 in total, as every dish impressed us and left us wanting more. We will definately be back at some point to try their afternoon (dinner) menu!

Good food but a bit overpriced to my taste especially when compared to other restaurants in the area. Service was great and waiters attentive.

Pros: Very good tapas. Good service (perhaps over attentive). Cons: Far too expensive. Overcharged for everything. For example, cocktails were €18 each. They served (without us asking for it) one small slice of focaccia bread for each person yet charged £2 for each slice. Cheeky. Very little ambience as many potential customers are deterred. These prices are not justified by either location or establishment.

Lugar elegante pero no demasiado amplio. Del carpaccio esperaba algo más; del risotto esperaba algo más pero de cantidad ya que para 21 euros que costaba me parecía una cantidad realmente escasa, aunque el sabor era bueno; y del chuleton argentino igual, esperaba más y algo más de sabor. Cabe destacar que no todo deja que desear, ya que al llegar te dan una copa de prosecco y un aperitivo (muy rico por cierto). El personal es muy amable y atento. Cobran 2.50€ por cubierto. Lugar elegante pero no demasiado amplio. Del carpaccio esperaba algo más; del risotto esperaba algo más pero de cantidad ya que para 21 euros que costaba me parecía una cantidad realmente escasa, aunque el sabor era bueno; y del chuleton argentino igual, esperaba más y algo más de sabor. Cabe destacar que no todo deja que desear, ya que al llegar te dan una copa de prosecco y un aperitivo (muy rico por cierto). El personal es muy amable y atento. Cobran 2.50€ por cubierto. Impossible to justify the prices First thing you get when you sit down is a glass of prosecco and I little appetiser, which is a nice detail but is not free. This is included in the price you are paying for “service” which is not a common practice in Spain and that you will be charged even if you do not want the drink. Not a negative comment in this aspect from my side as it’s only 3€, but I did want to clarify this. Moving forward, we immediately received the menu, as the service, I have to say, is very good and the waiters are very polite. After seeing the prices we decided to order no starters and only main course (thank god, I don’t even want to imagine what bill we would have payed). My dish was the priciest one: black Angus fillet. I ordered it rare and it came medium but I still thought I wouldn’t make a fuss as if it was good meat, it would be nice either way. The meat had no taste whatsoever. I was so disappointed that even the rest of diners at my table (who were also disappointed with their meals) noticed it. For 42€ the dish (for some foreign readers this mightn’t seem expensive, but in Spain for that price a dish, you expect a top notch meat) not only was a expecting a bigger piece, but also I was imagining a nice meat with some dry aging. Honestly, the meat was so tasteless that I could’ve gone to any supermarket, bought a small piece of beef for 5€ and cooked it myself and probably would’ve been tastier. After this, of course we were all still starving so we decided to order desert to calm our appetite. The cheapest desert was 14€ (in Spain an average price for desert at a nice restaurante is 6/7€… so imagine our faces when you see double that). Amazed by the price we still decide to go ahead as we were, as already mentioned before, literally still starving. We order chocolate fondant (average, not worth more than 6€ max), creme brulee (I didn’t taste it so cannot give my opinion) and cheesecake with Bailey sauce (this one was the best of all and the only dish that managed to surprise me. I’d say it’s worth around 8/9€. Still no way to justify 14,50€ for a small cheesecake). So my summary and conclusion is Figaro to be a mediocre kitchen with elevated prices aimed for the foreign holidaymaker that will pay any price to dine at a “exclusive” restaurant. Even if this means paying double the real value of the food. Final price: 75€ pp In my home city (Jaén) for this price you can have a degustation menu at one of the Michelin star restaurants (yes, you’ve read well foreigner). I attach a picture with evidence to this review. And in Malaga for an extra 10€ there are several Michelin star options too. And after a Michelin star degustation menu you feel satiated (around 10 dishes) not like after fígaro’s main dish + desert rip-off.

Se lo pregunté pero me respondió que tres era lo ideal… para quién? Gasté €42 en tres tapas y un agua.

El entorno es bonito pero nada del otro mundo, la comida no está mal, pero el precio no vale la pena en absoluto. Es excesivamente caro. Por ese precio, es mejor comer en un restaurante con un chef reconocido o con un ambiente festivo según mi opinión.

We went there for Valentine’s Day. The portions were very small, and the prices were high for the quality. The service wasn’t bad, but the wine was served too warm, and the cava was flat.

Si eres español el trato no es el mismo, no lo recomiendo a personas de la tierra ya que os ignorarán.
