15 minute wait for Sunday brunch around 11AM for a party of 5. One of the easiest places to get a table with delicious food. Parking is also extremely easy with street parking and a few spots behind the restaurant as well. Every dish we ordered was delicious and perfect for brunch food. Prices are extremely reasonable for the tasty food and portions. Location also extremely close to the beach if you want to grab some food after hitting the water.
Breakfast/Brunch I really enjoyed this. When my buddy sent me the menu, I thought it would be a little fu-fooey. However, it was delicious and there was enough formica to fit into what I believe breakfast should be, and still half the menu was elevated to match a brunch palate. The coffee shop part was excellent. I’m assuming they have cocktails although I didn’t see anyone drinking. I think they loved the guys on their Harley Davidson’s so I will definitely be back 😂😂 Vibe - ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ Food & Drink - ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ Value - ☘️☘️☘️☘️ Service - ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ Overall - ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️
I grew up in La Jolla, so I have been coming to this street for decades to dine and can honestly say Shorehouse Kitchen is one of my favorites, in terms of breakfast. We stopped in this morning for brunch and had a wonderful meal. We were a party of four and arrived around 9:30 and did not have to wait at all for a table. Inside is quite large they have outdoor and indoor seating available and many different table size options. Our server was polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. Parking this area is pretty easy, we were able to find a free street spot very close to the front door. I started off my breakfast with a Salted Caramel Latte and honestly loved it. Salted caramel is one of my favorite flavors so I was expecting to like it and was happy to see it was as good as I hoped. With that theme going I decided to get the Salted Caramel Waffle and also really liked it. It was a thin waffle, not one of the fluffy Belgian types, but more so the type at a Waffle House. My waiter advised me that it wasn’t very much in terms of size so I ordered a side of scrambled eggs and cheese and thought it was a nice addition and felt it was a good size for one person. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and I plan to be back again in the near future.
I had an excellent breakfast and great service at the Shorehouse Kitchen! The omelette was cooked perfectly. The toast was fresh and delicious and loved the option of sliced tomatoes on the side. They made a lavender latte that was amazing. Super friendly and outdoor seating with palm trees. Will return!
While Le jolle is not necessarily the place to go for food, this is the exception. We ended up getting a bloody marry and veggie benidict and both were great. In fact the bloody marry inspired us to start making them at home so we got the stuff for it right after. The benidict had a nice mix that even included a pistatio spread which worked well. The hash was probably the best hash I have had. A perfect ballance of crispy edges and tender insides. It all might be a bit pricy for breakfast but worth it. The atmosphere was nice but nothing crazy either. There was a decent amount of natural lighting and seating next to it which was nice. One of the small touches that I liked was the addition of a dog menu that they post on their front stand. The staff was friendly and had plenty of good recommendations. We lucked out on parking but It seems like normally pretty rough to find a spot. Overall a great place to grab breakfast.
We visited this place because our local friends had recommended it. With its impressive Yelp and Google reviews, and a long line when we arrived, we made the right decision to come here. The service was exceptional, and the food was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed their famous Tahitian French toast, which was incredibly tasty that even our picky eater, who doesn’t usually like French toast, couldn’t resist asking for more. The salmon benedicts were also quite good, and the grilled cheese was a classic choice that couldn’t be wrong. However, I had high hopes for their Kyoto coffee, which supposedly features homemade macadamia nut milk. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. I couldn’t even finish a single sip because it was so watery and tasteless. Now, let’s talk about the parking situation. This neighborhood has no public parking, so you’re either fighting to find a spot or arriving super early. We arrived around 10 am on a Saturday and had to park about a mile away. It wasn’t a terrible distance, but it wasn’t ideal, especially when you’re hangry.
Great spot for breakfast - friendly servers, beautiful ambiance and good food! I enjoyed their 'fresh squeezed orange juice' and 'roasted veggies and pistachio benedict'. Since there was no wait for indoor seating, we opted for it. Parking was a big hassle as it was a Saturday morning, but I found a spot after making a couple of rounds around the block just as someone had left.
I got the chilaquiles which were flavourful and delicious. My fiance got the Pistachio Veggie Benedict which she said was a little bland and she thought the hash browns were a little over cooked. We both got lattes which we enjoyed thoroughly. I think I liked my food more than she did but overall enjoyed our experience!
Great place for Saturday breakfast with my husband and dog. We arrived close to 9 and were seated right away on the front patio. They had the heaters out so it was nice. My husband and I ordered the 2 eggs, toast, plus side plate. The crispy hash browns were really good with the perfect amount of crunch. Raspberry jam on sourdough was yummy. The cornmeal pancakes with blueberry and lemon were delicious! It was very moist and flavorful. A lot better than we expected. The best part of our meal was being able to order something for my sweet dog Izzy. She devoured the bacon and enjoyed the reverse osmosis water. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend!
We went for brunch on a rainy day and decided to sit outside because there were heaters. We were so comfortable for a while, but when the rain got too much, they offered to move us inside. The food and drinks were great, and we were very impressed by their creative menu - lots of unique items! Service was good and prices were high but reasonable for what we received. Would definitely return!
This place surprised me and is now my favorite breakfast spot in the San Diego/la Jolla area. We came here hungry and their portion sizes were perfect. I went with their breakfast chicken sandwich was the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Perfect bun, perfectly cooked chicken and bacon, great sauce, fresh greens, and a delicious fried egg. The side of hash browns were also the best I had as they were crispy through and through. I ate ever bite on this plate. Next I ate their French toast and it was so good. After the saltiness from the sandwich, the sweat and savory French toast was the perfect combo to top the meal. This place was so good, I ate here two days in a row while on vacation. I highly recommend and I will definitely be back here
The wait was not horrible for a Sunday morning. There are shops nearby you can wander in for the duration of wait. They will send you a text when your table is ready. My family enjoyed the outdoor seating and the staff was wonderful! The food was great, but when you have staff who are remarkable, you have a winning experience. I would caution the patio out back, there are birds and they love to sit on the wires and the roof, I was scared I was going to get bird droppings on me and my food! All together a great place near the beach and shopping!
Always good food and service. Anytime we have visitors or want a great meal this is our obvious favorite place

Well prepared breakfast in ample quantities. Delicious asparagus mushroom omelet, waffle, granola and yogurt. Nice staff, Moderate prices.
Food was good and the atmosphere was beautiful but the wait was 15 minutes to order and then 30 minutes for food to arrive! Otherwise, the pancakes were fluffy, light, and sweet. I loved the crispiness of the hash browns.
Really good food, nice beach casual breakfast spot vibe and dogs galore (which I adore). Service was painfully slow and same requests to bring a drink had to be made three times over the course of 20 minutes. This was my first time here. I would return and give it another chance that maybe I would get a better server.
Visited July 8, 2025 - BREAKFAST My husband remembered this place from a visit years ago. He started it was a bit dated from when he originally visited. It happens. At least it was still open! He was pretty excited to bring us here! The initial sitting, which was indoors was a bit disappointing as we waited at least waited 5-10 min until someone came to greet us and take our drink order. However, upon observation I noticed one of our waitress was training another. But non of them clarified this. Anyway, after the initial negative, the rest of our breakfast service went smoothly. We had a basic breakfast: coffee, oj (fresh squeezed) pancakes, French toast, omelet with toast were all delicious and satisfying. Don’t miss eating here. You have the option of indoor or outdoor seating. The wait staff is friendly. Just make sure to get here early bc it seems to be a popular place!
The hostess was not very nice, but the rest of the staff was amazing! Found this spot after a great hike! Food a bit pricey, but that's everywhere now. It's very tasty food, worth it. We sat outside, in the sidewalk table area, it was fine. Would go again if in the area. We got there early and missed the crowd. It was very busy as we left. Parking is in the residential area, just a heads up.
Restaurant Review: Maple Fried Chicken Sandwich & Fries During my visit, I ordered the Maple Fried Chicken Sandwich accompanied by a side of fries. While the meal was enjoyable, it lacked a standout element that would make it truly memorable. Food – 7/10 Maple Fried Chicken Sandwich – 6/10 The sandwich was well-prepared, featuring fresh cheese with a satisfying pull and a well-cooked egg that added a rich texture. However, I made the mistake of pressing down on it too quickly, preventing me from fully savoring its flavors. The bacon, while present, lacked seasoning and was barely noticeable within the sandwich. The highlight was the chicken itself, which had a pleasant maple syrup glaze that complemented its crispiness. Despite these positives, the sandwich didn’t have a “wow” factor—everything was good, but nothing was exceptional. Fries – 4/10 The fries, though served in a generous portion, were relatively small. They had a nice crispiness and were mildly seasoned, but their texture caused them to dissolve too quickly, making it difficult to fully appreciate their flavor. Service – 12/10 The service was truly outstanding. We were seated almost immediately due to the efficiency of the staff, who quickly cleaned and prepared tables despite the restaurant being packed. The waitstaff were exceptionally attentive, engaging in friendly conversation and maintaining a great sense of humor. Their attentiveness and energy greatly enhanced the dining experience. Overall Impression While the food was solid but unremarkable, the outstanding service made the visit worthwhile. If the flavors were as impressive as the hospitality, this meal could have been exceptional. Side note I saw a really cool car and took a picture and edited it to look cool 😎
I went here during Sunday brunch. Knowing La Jolla, I thought the prices would be expensive, but they were still decent and reasonable. The food was very filling and tasty. The service was great; we had Chad as our server, and he was amazing. The ambiance was good and quite close to the beach. However, parking was very challenging and took me forever to find a spot. I was able to get one in a residential area. There is $30 parking nearby, but I wouldn’t pay that much just to park, so I pushed myself to find street parking, which was an 8-minute walk to the restaurant. Other than that, it was a good experience. Maybe next time I’ll try their other branch in Carlsbad.

First impression was that this was going to be an overpriced trap, due to it's location and the millennial NEED to brunch on weekends, even when the wait time is over 40 minutes. But you know what?…

Poached eggs not hot, eggs for husband and potatoes same thing. Too expensive for cold food especially eggs. Did we send it back, no not worth waiting but will not go again.
