This place is always clean staff is always cleaning and at your service. The food is authentic and always fresh. I love coming here with my family.
Really great food .. outstanding fruit drinks
Great green enchiladas. Family taco meal is delicious and feeds the full family. 4 to 6 people easy.
Another Great Dinner, provided by Great People. Excellent Mexican food and ample choices. Serving sizes are above normal.
The food, the service is great
Bomb Mexican food, real food not like filibertos, everything is made fresh food, waters, juices, dessert. Family owned and oriented, great service.
I think this restaurant is really good. I love the fresas con creama because it was one of my favorite childerhood desserts.
Always a good experience and great place to bring ppl out to eat
Traditional Mexico City food, one of the best I’m glad they brought Jessy back, good move management!
One of the best places on the East side of the valley ( Mesa ) Highly recommended
Very great food. I say you get more food than what you pay for, loved it!
Extremely authentic with excellent options and portions and stellar food. Definitely worth a visit
I’ve been enjoying this restaurant for more than 15 years. The quality of food and service has always been top tier. Just had their Barbacoa with consomé and in my opinión, is one of the best Mexican meals you can have anywhere. Highly recommend this fine restaurant.
The food is absolutely amazing every time I come here. They are all super nice and there is not one bad item on the menu. Everything is good. Also the limonada is perfect and refreshing. I think my favorite thing is the enchiladas, this is my new favorite restaurant.
I love the food at La Merced. The place is always clean and the service always prompt. The complimentary chips and salsa are delicious and the aguas frescas are to die for. I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for real Mexican food--it's the best Mexican food I've had since I lived in Mexico City.
At the moment me and my family and friends entered we were greeted, we were a large group but they quickly mopped and organized the tables so we all could all fit. Our waiter was very patient when she took our order and very courteous.
Had the steak tacos, delicious. Plenty of like, cucumber, and radish. Sauce was spicy and had good flavor. Water is actually pretty decent tasting from fountain for those after gym sessions. Will be back.
After wanting to go so many times I finally told my husband today was the day. We go there the restaurant seemed small. We were able to sit wherever we liked, which we actually liked to sit where we wanted. We had a great dinner I ordered a torta which is enough for 2 people. We had some aguas frescas. We had the pineapple, mango and strawberry. Overall it was delicious.
The service was perfect the food was delicious they only thing was missing plates to be more enjoy my meal I ordered barbacoa with no plates to eat it's just they give it to you with no place 1 plate so you have to eat it like a tacos ...other than that excellent I really recommended to go in there..
Love their food and service. However due to covid and the restaurant being really small, they shouldn't allow people to wait for a table inside a restaurant next to the the people whose already eating. This was upsetting cause I had 5 people waiting for a table right next to me. 2 ft away and it was super uncomfortable.
I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend. I went with my husband and really enjoyed their melon agua fresca and the al pastor quesadilla. The homemade corn tortilla really made the quesadilla outstanding! I look forward to trying more items on their menu.
First time eating at La Merced! Food was amazing! The restaurant was clean. The 2 girls who helped us were friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be back again.
This place is a small but has some really good food. I went there with my friend and she was like I have to try it since she goes there when she can and we went there for lunch!! It was good and spicy too the green enchiladas.
I love the way when I call to place an order, answer in Spanish. It makes me feel like I'm in Mexico identically. This way I get a free little vacation with my dinner. Excellent food very friendly staff, I highly recommend La Merced
Best place to go and enjoy authentic Mexican food. Go atmosphere , service is great !
Hands down the best Mexican food in the whole valley. Always clean always fresh. An the seasoning is authentic and delicious. I love taking my family there!💕💯
Our long time favorite for Mexican food Mexico City style. Everything you eat here is delicious and plentiful. Our favorites are Barbacoa, Enchiladas Verdes, Alambre, Tacos al Pastor, Mole, Chamorro, Huarache....
Absolutely love this place. Food is always good and the salsas are the best I’ve tried around here.
I absolutely LOVE the chicken enchiladas with green sauce. It is too die for! And they have the best horchatas here!! Service is always great even though they sometimes don't speak a whole lot of English. Luckily I can speak some Spanish. Or my husband translates for me!
I randomly stopped in here for lunch and just asked for a burrito-to-go. It was a good price and it was really large, so for those reasons alone I was glad I bought food here. However, the reason I am writing a review is because I eat Mexican food all the time, but I don't know if I've ever had a burrito that tasted this good... I literally ate the last bite and said out loud "Oh my god, that was beautiful", it tasted that delicious.
We were in the area and looked for a Mexican restaurant near where we were staying. We lucked into this one based mostly on proximity, and I’m glad we did. The food was great, and the chips and salsa were the best I’ve ever had at any restaurant. I was really glad that they let us buy a jar of their salsa to take home. I’d recommend you do the same if you are fortunate enough to visit here.
Love this place! If they live closer to me I would be pulling up every week 🤣🤣🤏🏼
I really remember. Here's the truth, this incident. I never told anyone this before. I left going to this restaurant because let me tell you right now. This instinct, if you have no idea what they could do about it, let's just see that you're just trying to get an order for Thanksgiving. They'll do that for you. All you have to do is to go inside. The restaurant is to get an order of thanksgiving. And they'll hand you everything of thanksgiving
By far the best authentic Mexican food ive had in AZ, highly recommend the al pastor
The biggest torta I have ever seen! I loved the Mexico City theme as well.I will be back to try other items from the menu.
If you've ever been to Mexico city, this place will take you back. The food is 100% mexico city. Best tacos, enchiladas and tortas. Also all the fruit juices are awesome. My personal favorites are the green enchiladas (warning, they are too hot for most) plus the tacos al pastor. Remember Mexico city food is very spicy, but delicious!
Tacos were good but suadero was different than the ones I tried before at other places
I had 2 street tacos and some beans very good 👍👍👍
One of the few authentic Mexican restaurants in Mesa that offers truly delicious chicken molé poblano and molé cheese enchiladas!
The food it's delicious gorditas and huarache The waitress Jesse its very good
To be honest .. THEY have the BEST😭😭 Pastor and Horchata i have ever had in the Mesa Phoenix area! Its a little pricey but the people and atmosphere is well worth your penny!!!!
Excellent food. Depending on time of day can be extremely busy but worth the wait.
Tasty and authentic Mexican food. Best carne al pastor that you will find in the Phoenix area!
Decent food, the waitress was nice and did a good job. I ordered a smoothie and when i got it it was huge! Same for the food portions. Price is good.
The food is good., the service is often slow., I mean waiting over 30 minutes for 10 tacos, and before covid19 it was slow too. I been there a few times, and i don't think im coming back.
Food is great but the service can definitely improve on checking on the customers more instead of playing on their phones.
The asada tacos and salsa was great! But the beans taste canned and the rice was gross!
Tortas and aguas frescas are great!! It’s just a loooong wait and feels a bit overpriced.
The place is clean, price is reasonable, I give a 7-8 out of 10 to the food. Cold chips, you can tell were from the day before or?… the tortilla in my enchiladas suizas was not cooked all the way. But flavor was ok. Enchiladas suizas fir lunch with agua de jamaica $20 Sep 2023
My favorite items to buy are the smoothies and desserts. As far as the meat it wasn't hot when we received them so I'm assuming they are already prepped and placed in a container and for me I'd rather have hot, steamy taco meat on my plate. It was alright in general and we spent $43 for three tacos, a gordita, side of beans, a smoothie and strawberries and cream.
The food is great but service is almost non existent I wish they train their servers to be more attentive to their customers.
Picked up an order of Carlo de poyo. The people are nice. The establishment is clean, but their soup had no taste to It no amount of slat and lemon could help... it would have made my Grandma. Turn in her grave if she ever tasted this
It used to be affordable prices now they aren’t just prepare at least 75$ For 3 people
I use to love this place but today was a bad experience. I call to make an order to go and they said it will be ready in 15min. Well I wait for almost 30min so don't know what's the reason to order by phone if they are going to start your order when you get there...
service was good, nice people. but the food wasn’t the best. disappointed. don’t recommend coming here. the food was dry. hospital food is better than this restaurant. they gave us expired vegetables. they were dry and black. or it could be a hit or miss
Over all, the tacos have great flavor. I am usually a regular there. However this most recent time will be my last time. The tacos were unbelievably small, I am not exaggerating when I say I could have ate them with one bite. And they were $2.30 a piece. It's very disappointing because their food is normally great but it is a RIP OFF.
I read reviews so decided to get green enchiladas and beans and rice. I paid almost $30 and it really wasn't worth the price! I've had better for much less. Lacked flavor and the cheese wasn't melted. I actually had to sit and wait 30 minutes after placing my to go order
Charged me 2 dollars just to add cheese to each taco ended up getting charged 8 dollars for just cheese never coming back how doesn’t cheese come with the order and they should tell u if it’s charged with the order if it’s that much
Food was nasty and pricey. Not going back.
Terrible food! I ordered a carne asada burrito - it was 98% beans, 1% nasty meat, and 1% guacamole. This place is very disappointing.
Horrible owner. Food is not great. Avoid eating and giving your money to this guys restaurant. Would not recommend at all.
Terrible service. Waited 20 minutes just for drinks.. The owner also kicked out my service dog even though he had his service vest on. Very disappointed and unprofessional.
Paid for rice got chips instead and no didn't get any salsa
I purchased a $15 gift voucher off restaurants.com for this place. The voucher had no expiration date but when I attempted to use it the manager/owner claimed "he lost too much money off of those vouchers" and not only refused to accept it, but refused to apply any discount to my meal at all. When I tried to explain to him that it's not really fair that I was being double charged having bought the voucher in the first place and being charged full price for the meal he said "well that's not my problem, call the company you bought the voucher from." I attempted to call restaurants.com but their customer service department was closed. When I told him I couldn't get a hold of anyone from restaurants.com he once again told me "that's not my problem.". For some reason he thought I wasn't going to pay and called the cops to the restaurant. Ironically, they showed up as he was processing my card. I can't remember the last time I've dealt with customer service that bad. It's unfortunate because the food was good and I would have happily been a return customer. Now, I will never go there again and will encourage anyone else NOT to eat there.
I ordered costillas en salsa roja, they were completely disgusting. Food tasted like if it was days old. Made me really sick. Will never be coming back to this place and will be letting others know as well. Almost $15 paid for some reheated old food. Not worth my time and money wasted
I was semi-enjoying my bowl of menudo here until I got half way down and found 3 tiny black hairs. So unfortunate. This was just the topper on an already mediocre experience. We ordered chicken enchiladas and ended up with cheese enchiladas, asked for corn tortillas with our menudo, received bread. At the beginning of the order, we asked for two menudos, only ended up with one and had to order the second one half way through our meal after we realized that they didn’t write the second one down at the beginning. Won’t be returning.
Dude wanted to argue with me because he misunderstood my order like it was my fault. Not too mention that he took 5 minutes taking my order to still get it wrong. Lady at the counter was nice tho.
Very sad! We were actually denied service because we had our dog with us, (inside her bag) we were not even given a chance to explain it was a service dog which is against the law to refuse in any establisent. Maybe having tables outside ( you got plenty of room) will be convenient for any other patron in our situation as for us we will never be back
Today my family of 7 waited outside the restaurant for the waitress to set our table. A man had unloaded tables and chairs and set them outside while we waited. When the waitress came outside we asked if we could seat outside instead. We both looked at the gentleman as he wiped the tables , and I politely asked "Can we seat outside?" Without making eye contact with either one of us he replied "I don't work under pressure". I was taken back as our family looked at each other in disbelief, not understanding where his rudeness came from. I responded "we are consumers, clients of this establishment, why do you speak to clients that way?" He mumbled that he didn't care and of course we decided to take our business somewhere else. He seemed stressed and irritated with his job and didn't demonstrate any concern for anyone witnessing his rude behavior.
I've ate here a lot of times before the owner even knows me even though I've spent hundreds of dollars there cuz the food is super expensive I went and purchased tacos two milkshakes and a and a plate the milkshakes were milkshakes I ordered chocolate milkshake and then I went back because it tasted like milk only the man gave me an attitude even though I buy there all the time my food was almost $70 the girl didn't give me my change back I left the change with her as a tip even though I picked up my food on top of it they still wanted to charge me extra for to put chocolate in my chocolate milk which didn't have chocolate in the first place this is the last time I ever go to that restaurant again also ordered pastor it tasted terrible and the red rice didn't even taste like Mexican rice it tasted Americanized I'll rather make my own Mexican food at home thank you
This place is a bunch of crooks. I went here after the gym and my airpods fell out of my pocket while eating here. I tried to call them to verify if they had them and they just spoke spanish and hung up the call. The Amigo burrito also food poisoned my friend who was with me(I only ate half of mine because the carne asada was mid). Avoid this place they suck
Barbacoa just to be made fresh and juicy now it’s dry and cold, tortillas as well they were cold We asked for more onions and cilantro and they told us that we have to pay for it otherwise the cook will get mad of the waitress. Very disappointed
Sat down and no one waited on me after 5 minutes. They watched me come in. There were 3 tables with people and all the rest of the seating was empty. Drink and other menus had no English. I'll attempt it again, but not soon, and then do another comment. 1 star is not appropriate. Guess I wont be coming back as this place made the dirty dinner list. I see people have been poisoned as well.
Bad customer service! Never going back here again. Never phone an order and expect good reactions..had a rude interaction after I simply asked for extra sauce also this place is over priced. Over the phone they were kind but once I payed and had to wait for my food they were sooo rude when I was just trying to confirm I got everything I ordered..and got my food rudely handed to me and manger got snappy with me. I understand it can get busy but don’t be rude to your customers! I would never go back nor recommend. Also this place is overpriced for the quality
We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone after the two HORRIBLE experiences that we have received from the Owner directly. He has made my Husband feel so unwelcome after his 3 years of getting the same order from here every time (al pastor tacos), that he only had me go in personally because he seemed to be more friendly towards women than men. The second situation I called in the order, the owner himself took the call and informed me it would take the typical 10-15 minutes. I got there at exactly 15 minutes and they informed me it wasn't ready quite yet, and I went ahead and paid. They were clearly very busy so I was waiting patiently when an hour had passed by. I got up to see how much longer and they apologized that it hadn't been started but it would only take about five minutes. They offered a soda and free chips which was nice, but soon after they had asked me if I had paid already by the same girl that rung me up. I said yes, she went and told the owner that I did, and she came right back asking to see my receipt since they didn't believe me. It is appalling. We have collectively been coming here for 6 years now, when I called the place to tell them about the poor service the owner wouldn't even accept that he has treated us poorly and wanted to put blame on a worker who was out. This is not how you run a business as it starts at the top, and if the owner is willing to treat his loyal customers like this it is not a establishment that you want to be eating at!
Honestly the food is great and you pay for what you get... but that’s it... the service here is horrible we came in today for dinner after craving green enchiladas all day... we ordered our food and everything was good.. but we had to ask for drinks to get refilled ourselves... there was absolutely no1 in other than a Togo and one other couple that got there as we finished... during Covid you’d think their servers would pay more attention to their customers since well NO1 is there. We finally got up and decided to pay and ask for boxes as she had never came back to check if the food was good and if we needed anything after she dropped off the food... this place has a yet to not amaze me. It’s sucks that management can’t be around as much. Such a good place just failing. 🤦♂️
I came here to eat dinner. First the waitress was mopping and did not take my order until she finished. Then she took my order and the food took 30 minutes to arrive, even though I was the only person there. The food arrived and the meet was greasy and the corn of the tortilla tasted old. The whole experience was not great and when I informed the waitress about this she talked to the owner who did not come out and address the situation. Do not come to this place.
This place committed a federal crime. by kicking out a service dog. and a veteran for just trying to buy one of their sandwiches. That's illegal on the federal level and they have been reported.
We came because of a recommendation from a friend but honestly the huaraches are not made fresh, tortilla was hard on edges and thin, asada tasted old looked like it was sitting on the steam table for long time my friend ordered the chicharrón prensado huarache and it was too salty tortilla was hard on edges too. Two huaraches and 3 glass bottled cokes bill almost reached $50 Not worth it!
No recommended. I ordered a quesadilla, they were confused and gave me another dish. My husband ordered another dish but the food was salty and not good. The prices are not fair because the food is flavorless. I'm Mexican and I know how to cook these dishes but really this is not authentic Mexican food. The customer service uffff even worst, just bad faces nothing friendly. Not recommended. It was my first and last visit.
I was there before. Some time ago and food used to be good. I don't know what changes they made but, this time food tasted like from day before and the torta was tasteless and poor. Service was ok.
I went here for the first time on 06/27/21. I thought the food was so so. I ended up with food poisoning and so did my friend, his mom, and their roommate. We all ate here and had stomach issues. I got the carne asada burrito and they got tortas. I wasn’t wild about the churros. I definitely will not come here again. I’m still recovering from the food poisoning and so are my friends.
