A double invite brought me to Pizzeria Virtù for an unforgettable media night experience, where the art of true Napoletana pizza takes center stage. Chef Gio has crafted a menu that’s both simple and elevated- every bite rooted in tradition, bursting with fresh ingredients, and echoing the flavors of Italy right here in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. It’s giving: wood-fired perfection, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and flavors your taste buds won’t soon forget. 🤌🏽
A real treat, hidden in plain sight. Dinner was cozy and excellent, the pasta dishes were divine and packed a nice twist of heat with the Calabrian chilis. I tried the olive oil pasta with those Calabrian chilis and the sausage based meatballs. Additionally, the pizza is excellent for those who like extra thin but still have a good crust for a handle. The pork chop? That took me by surprise. Hammered flat and panko breaded… also highly suggested. And, if possible, save room for desert. Classic cannoli, tiramisu, and olive oil cake are just a few of the options. All gone before pictures could be taken. Interior was cozy without being too tight, outdoor patios looked dreamy with the oil lantern light. Parking is interesting, some could say daunting, but please don’t let that stop you. 🍕🍝🕯️
We were impressed with both food and service. The vibe is low key casual and our server was very friendly. She was happy to recommend dishes and curate the dinner for us overall. Everything was flavorful and delicious. Especially liked the Milano pizza, mulberry street rigatoni, Montata whipped cheese, and Campania pizza. So basically almost everything we ordered …. Will be back!
Excellent dining experience. Carrie our waitress was knowledgeable and informed. Awesome atmosphere. The food was Fantastic.
Pizzeria Virtù is a cozy little spot in Scottsdale that delivers big on flavor and atmosphere. The restaurant has a warm, homey feel that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. The menu is simple but thoughtful, with a focus on quality over quantity. The wood-fired pizzas are the star—crispy, light crusts with just the right amount of char, topped with fresh, flavorful ingredients. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a neighborhood favorite, perfect for a casual night out or a relaxed dinner with friends.
A charming little pizza spot off the east side of Main Street in old town. The menu is small and to the point, both pizzas and pastas dishes were amazing and full of flavor.
Beautiful place which I truly recommend to visit! Tried 3 appetizers and pizzas (all of them were 10/10)! This restaurant in my top 5 in Phoenix! Service also amazing! If you want to eat true Italian food in America - visit this place ❤️
Amazing food! Very nice and efficient staff! Had a very nice lunch here!
This is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is absolutely delicious. The calabrese pizza, ragú, and mulberry street pasta are my favorites. Please please please offer delivery ◡̈
The best pizza and tiramisu in town… We love the atmosphere; the service was little bit slow but its all right. We also ordered olives and bread as a starter and love it!!
We love this place. The deserts are always amazing. The pizza crust is excellent. We did find tonight the balsamic was a little heavy but we will return! The appetizers alone are worth coming. The service is nearly perfect!
Every time I've dined at Pizzeria Virtu the food has been fresh, flavorful and filling! Between the adorable aesthetics, the fluffy yet crispy bread, and mouthwatering cocktails this restaurant is impressive. We've had the pleasure of getting to know Joey, who has always treated our team with the upmost respect and kindness. The spaccanapoli has become a personal obsession of mine, although the pizza is also addiction worthy! Pretty positive I could eat my weight in bread here and I cannot wait to try their desserts, if I can ever save room. Thank you for being the best Italian spot in AZ Pizzeria Virtu!
Great Food! Subtle flavors that are mesmerizing, as the waitress said, "seems easy enough to do at home but it's hard to recreate". Tried this place for the first time on a whim (close to closing time) and it was a fantastic choice, definitely became my favorite restaurant and I loved it even more with the tasting of each dish. The entire staff was so lovely and very helpful and patient 3vwn though they were already cleaning up the restaurant, definitely made us feel very welcome to enjoy our food.
everything on the menu is exceptional. definitely the best pizza, pasta, and meatballs in old town. service is exceptional.
We came here because it was within walking distance of Hotel Ho. The PESCA salad was delicious with the candied walnuts, cheese and grapes. I could've just eaten the BURRATA as my meal- the sweet and salty just worked. The pizzas were excellent. We would NOT order the OLIVE OIL CAKE again. The apricots and the whipped cream were good but the cake itself lacked flavor.
This place makes a great Neapolitan pizza and also had a fantastic spaghetti dish. The dining room is lively (or even loud if full), but there is plenty of outdoor space. They cut their own prosciutto and service was good after a long wait when we were first seated. If you don't feel like waiting in a long line a Bianco, this is a great option in Old Town Scottsdale.
It was a breezy, cool evening but we chose to sit outside mostly because of the high noise level inside. The patio is quite attractive, but has no heaters (which would really have been appreciated). It does have misters for those hot days. The wine list has several excellent Italian selections, and the pizza we thoroughly enjoyed was truly excellent. And our server was quite attentive and thoughtfully brought us a couple of glasses of Prosecco because of a small delay in pouring our selected wine but to a shortage of clean wine glasses. After dinner we walked around to the front to sit beside the wood-burning fireplace to warm up. That’s where we would have loved to have another drink, but absolutely no one came out to serve us despite several of the staff clearly seeing us there. The only negative for an otherwise great dining experience. Update: went back for lunch the next day. Loved everything about the experience.
Best pizza in Scottsdale, perfect for family night, date night or night out with friends with it’s cool and casual vibe! Will be back very sooon!
Sat outside under the lights as night came on sharing the pasta ragu, pizza, and more! The food was delicious. The servers were knowledgeable and friendly. And the atmosphere was cozy. I would absolutely go back.
For the past 2 weeks I’ve been trying to put into words how incredible my two experiences at Pizzeria Virtù have been. Let me first off start by saying the food is absolutely spectacular. True Neapolitan pizza is extremely rare to find in the US as it requires a certificate from a master from Naples. A lot of places advertise that they are and are met with cease and desist letters as it’s that strict to get a license to cook this type of pizza. Pizzeria Virtù exceeds any Neapolitan pizza I’ve had anywhere in the United States. Their Compania is my favorite cause it’s a simple classic. The Crudo is also spectacular! I absolutely do not like mushrooms but let me tell you the Funghi may be one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. There are about 5 more pizzas on the menu that I need to try. There is also an appetizer that you will need to go back and get every time you go... The Burrata. Sourdough bread drizzled with olive oil, fresh made Burrata that melts in your mouth drizzled in honey and nuts, and thinly sliced prosciutto that literally melts in your mouth like butter. This appetizer is the first thought I have every morning and the last thought before I go to bed each night. Not only will the food knock your socks off the service will as well. We were lucky enough to have Marshall both nights we went and let me tell you the guy is a mensch. He is the best server I’ve ever had. He remembered us and our orders and even our conversations. He has an excellent understanding of the menu and it’s wine and alcohol pairings and his suggestions are paramount. With so many good options to choose from it was nice to just go with his recommendations cause he won’t steer you to anywhere but pure bliss. 10/10 couldn’t be happier with Pizzeria Virtù and with Marshall’s service. I can’t wait til I go back!
This was a last-minute decision tonight with a friend of mine who was craving pizza and pasta. Not wanting to miss a carb beat, we chose Pizzeria Virtú as it has both on the menu and from past experience will do well and we were only 3 minutes away. Since we wanted to try variety of dishes, we decided to share each plate. We started with the polpette, as an appetizer and then a serving of spaghetti, aglio, olio, e peperoncino and the Reggio pizza with no tomato sauce, but definitely spicy. Of course this was topped off with the olive oil cake Sadly I only took a couple of photos but rest assured the food is delicious. All of this was accompanied by Stefano Farina Barbera d’Asti wine. A perfect pairing in my opinion. Not too bold or overbearing, dry, medium tannins, great accompaniment to the spices in the foods. Alway recommend Pizzeria Virtú. Can’t go wrong.
Amazing experience from the moment we arrived. Great ambiance, very intimate atmosphere and the star of the show is the pizza and service. Garrett was one of the best servers I have ever had, made the experience even better. The Milano pizza was incredible, 10/10. Also my fiancé absolutely loved her drink (Bolle Di Mora). We can’t wait to come back!!
Pizzería Virtu is the truth!! Real authentic Italian food in Scottsdale. The meatballs are probably the best I’ve ever had. The penne arrabbiata was insane! Margherita pizza was delicious. The hospitality was great, Marissa made you feel right at home!!!
Had a great dinner out on the patio. Loved that the pizza wasn’t a completely soggy mess as some Neapolitan pizzas can be. Highly recommend the meatballs!
We ate at Pizzeria Virtu on an overnight stay in Scottsdale. The two pizzas we tried were fantastic. Highly recommend the spicy Reggio. Wine selection was good. Insalata was a very nice, classic salad.
Our first dining experience in Scottsdale, the sandwich , sangrias and waitress were amazing. In fact, the sandwich was so good, we had a bite before I took the picture! Sooo good!
This place seems like a big reason why the pizza scene in the Phoenix area is so highly regarded. Great spot with warm and prompt service by the team. Look forward to coming back soon…
Been to this place twice! And both times it was amazing! The staff was friendly and helpful! Very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to pair the meals together for an explosion experience in your mouth. Both times we went to this place they had different menus ,but both times the food was incredible! This might be my favorite pizza place in the valley! We had a nice Italian white wine (Gavi) and we paired it with an amazing burrata that came with peaches , arugula and nuts doused in some honey! Incredible! The pizza we got was diamanté and it was incredible , me and my love enjoyed the whole night and experience! So good! We even took the bottle home as a momento! Love love love and would highly recommend it! We dressed casual and although we felt underdressed ! They treated us like family! Clean restaurant! The owner makes the food himself and makes it with love as you can taste the love he puts in it! And the wait staff is happy and friendly! As you can see they enjoy their job! We never had to wait for our glasses to filled and can I just say this place is a 10 star out of 5 star place! I’m done, dropping the mic, enough said! I can be here for days
Just an absolutely incredible meal. The wait staff was knowledgeable and guided us through this burst of flavors.
Loved the atmosphere! Second time I’ve gone to Pizzeria Virtu. They have a great wine selection and the food is amazing. I had the Aglio Olio E Petersoncino; the dish was so light and fresh with great subtle flavors of spice. I’ll definitely be back for this again!
Courtney made this a memorable pizza dining experience! Her service was impeccable plus their Affumicata pie was so good we ordered a second one later on :)
Absolutely amazing pizza and atmosphere! My husband and I had such a great experience here - everyone was so friendly, the service was quick, and the pizza tasted just like the kind we recently had in Italy. 5/5 stars!
Swing in for lunch Saturday and was impressed with the food and the friendly, knowledgeable, and professional staff. Atmosphere was excellent, love the repurposed house turned modern, yet approachable dining area sprinkled with small surprises like a twig of rosemary in the folded linens and farm style mini bouquets at each table. The burrata was out of this world (highly recommend). We also tried both the Salsiccia and Napoli pizzas and were not disappointed. To top it off, both the “heart of rye” and “amaro viale” craft cocktails were delightful. If you’re in the area, don’t miss Pizzeria Virtu!
Pizzeria Virtù in Scottsdale is an absolute gem. The Napoletan pizza is next level—crispy, chewy, flavorful, and easily some of the best I’ve ever had. We started with the burrata appetizer, and wow… it’s to die for. Creamy, fresh, and perfectly paired with vino rosso figs & prosciutto di parm. We sat on the patio, which was so cute, cozy and charming, perfect for a relaxed lunch. The service was superb, friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We dined at lunch, but I’m already planning to come back for dinner—their pork chop is calling my name. If you’re a pizza lover, this place is a must.
I cannot adequately express how much I enjoyed this place. First and foremost, the staff was fantastic. Great wine selection and the bartender helped pick the perfect selection. The food was just delicious! I had a margherita pizza. Flavor was magnificent, crust was sublime and I ended up demolishing the whole thing. Will be visiting again and highly recommend.
Pizzeria Virtù delivered a truly memorable dining experience from start to finish. The fire-oven–cooked pizza was outstanding, with a beautifully crisp yet tender crust that showcased the quality of both the ingredients and the technique. The Milano pizza was a standout—stracchino cheese, pancetta affumicata, caramelized onions, and chestnut honey came together in a flawless balance of savory and sweet, each bite more satisfying than the last. The meatballs were equally impressive and made the perfect complement to an already exceptional early dinner. The experience was elevated even further by Caleb at the bar, whose knowledge, friendliness, and attentive service added a personal and polished touch. The atmosphere struck a rare balance: cozy and sophisticated, yet genuinely warm and welcoming, with inviting indoor and outdoor seating options. Pizzeria Virtù is a place you’ll want to return to—not just for the food, but for the experience as a whole.
I come here once a week and have done for at least 6 months. Its fantastic every time. The Burrata to start and the pasta and pizza, any of them, is really really good. Atmosphere is chill, music is good, service attentive. Highly recommend the combo of burrata, mulberry street pasta and calabrese pizza. On the weekend make sure to have a reservation but usually quieter during the week to get a table anytime.
If I had anything negative to say... I would say it's a bit loud inside. Not sure why everything seems to echo. However, the food is absolutely delicious and reasonably price. And the service was top-notch. Definitely a place to bring a date.
We celebrated our 10yr anniversary here. We were greeted with a nice thoughtful card and a round of bubbly. We enjoyed burrata as our starter, lick the plate good! We enjoyed the Milano pizza and another pizza we can’t remember the name of. Both were exceptional. The service was excellent. We absolutely recommend this place
The spaghetti with red sauce is not just a spaghetti with red sauce. It’s a whole different level me and my son are from LA and now we’re depressed leaving Arizona because of this Pizza spaghetti place we will miss this place. We just took a screenshot of this place so when we come back in the future and we know where to go we have a soccer game tomorrow before we leave to LA and we will make sure to stop by here again. You guys gotta try this amazing bomb.com pizza and spaghetti the end.
Amazing food. We had the basics: insalata, margarita pizza and spaghetti. Fantastic tomato sauce! Can’t wait to go back.
Words can’t explain how amazing this place is! Visited to celebrate my 25th birthday last week and we told our server that we’d be back for my mother’s birthday. They gave me a personalized card and a birthday freebie (highly recommend the tiramisu)! ❤️ and as someone who has visited Italy, this is the only restaurant I have found that is truly authentic. Please ignore any bad reviews, they were most definitely the problem not the restaurant 😂
The cocktails were wonderful, perfectly balanced. Food was delicious. We sat at the bar and Caleb was incredibly attentive.
We loved their bruschetta — absolutely the best we’ve had! The pizza was solid, though we personally preferred the seasoning and crispness at Nook Kitchen in Arcadia a bit more — chalk it up to personal preference! Our server, Courtney, was wonderful. She was so sweet and even surprised us with a complimentary dessert for my girlfriend’s birthday — such a thoughtful touch! My girlfriend really enjoyed the tiramisu, though I wasn’t a big fan of the gritty texture. Again, just comes down to taste. The only downside was the seating situation. We asked to switch to a different outdoor table, but were told it was reserved — which surprised us since we thought reservations were only for indoor vs. outdoor general seating, not specific tables. We didn’t make a fuss, but we stayed for about 1.5 hours and the table remained empty the whole time, along with plenty of other open outdoor tables. It just felt a bit odd and unnecessary. Overall, still a great experience with delicious food and excellent service — especially thanks to Courtney!
The service was excellent and the ambiance nice. We ate outside as it was too noisy to have a proper conversation in our party of 5 indoors. The pizzas looked lovely but they were not delicious. I ordered one of the 2 house specialities and I found it bland when compared to its ambitious ingredient list. The salads were good but not amazing. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience due to the great servers but the food itself was not particularly memorable…
Overall good. Pizza was good. Appetizer, Burrata, was okay-good. They have indoor and outdoor seating, very limited wine list but still enough to order the basics. Service was good but wouldn't expect a sommelier. A bit over priced for what it is, but it is good. Ideal place for an couple that's looking to try a new, quaint pizza place. At one point the music got very loud but otherwise the ambiance is nice. There is a front patio with a fire place that looked cozy for drinks after or before dinner. Parking is on street or right by the building. Probably wouldn't go again but glad I went at least once.
Great time at Virtu. Wife had the margarita pie. I had the calabria. We ordered the meatballs to add to the pies. Pretty good pies. Great meatballs. We've been looking for a decent pizza in Scottsdale. No easy feat. Glad we finally did Pizzeria Virtu. Sorry it took so long. Very nice dining room. Easy parking. Nicole deftly handled all the tables.
I’ve been coming to this place regularly for pizza, and I used to really enjoy it. Unfortunately, my experience today was very disappointing. It seems the menu has changed, and many of the delicious options are no longer available. The pizza I usually order couldn’t be made, so I had to choose something else. I ordered the Diamante pizza, and honestly, it was very unpleasant. While the crust is still amazing - probably the best in Scottsdale - the toppings were extremely underwhelming. Nowhere on the menu was it mentioned that the pizza includes ground meat, which I would have never expected on an Italian-style pizza. The quality of the meat also wasn’t great, and the combination of ingredients just didn’t work. On top of that, the girl taking my order wasn’t particularly polite or welcoming, which made the experience even more frustrating. I’ve always appreciated how attentive and friendly the staff used to be, so this felt like a big change. I truly hope you consider revisiting your new menu. The dough is exceptional, but the toppings need serious improvement. What you currently offer doesn’t reflect the spirit of Italian pizza, and as someone who used to really enjoy coming here, I’m genuinely disappointed.
Beyond horrible experience. We were looking forward to dining here but the manager was so far beyond being incredibly rude. There’s no way to explain our experience. It was honestly surreal. You could not pay any of us to go back ever.
Staff failed to accommodate a group after giving away a table that we had specifically reserved beforehand. She would not accommodate or seat our group after giving away the reserved table and said they would not serve us in a rude and dismissive manner before turning us away for their mistake. This was all despite half the patio being open along with 80% of the inside. Extremely disappointed in my experience with the staff handling a reservation mishap. Why try to belittle and argue infront of 90yr old grandparents when you are the ones that messed up? This was my first time dealing with anything like this and it was a very odd experience to say the least.
