We went to the movies at Cinemark and while in town we thought to try out this restaurant. After we entered, we were greeted almost immediately and shown to a table. The waitress, as she was seating us, asked for our drink order. She brought out the drink and asked about appetizers. She recommended the Gator bites, which I hadn't ever eaten, so we ordered it. They weren't bad. They remind me of eating little fat chunks of fried pork from a chicharon, which I do not like. The two other people with me loved them. I ordered fried pork, mashed potatoes, and grilled vegetable melody; my nephew ordered a fried pork chop, broccoli, and broccoli rice casserole; his uncle ordered fried catfish, fries and fried okra (the tarter sauce is too sweet). I had not had fried pork chops, as I usually eat mine grilled, and I think i will stick with grilled. I am not sure if frying it caused it to be tough or if it was over fried. Other than that one issue, everything else was on point. I definitely will be back to try the chicken fried chicken.

Great service from our server. She was friendly and attentive. Our drinks were filled in a timely manner. Our steaks were cooked to order just as we asked. The play area was well maintained for the toddlers. Our server was very patient with the two rambunctious toddler grandbabies. The banana pudding was very tasty. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

I came back here with my BFF because we were in the mood for beef liver and alligator bites! Yum, yum!!! But you have to ask if they still have the beef liver, it is so good! This time we added Boudin balls to the mix. As sides we picked fried okra and mixed vegetables. And they do bring you mini biscuits, mini cornbread bites, and rolls with butter! Savannah, our server, was on top of it! This is definitely my go to place for alligator bites and beef liver! Oh, we were seated in the bar area, which was at this time just right for us!

One of my favorite places where you can enjoy the taste of the southern food and enjoy the live music. First visit was work lunch in 2016 and since then I started visiting this place. Many improvements been done but never changed the flavors of the tasty food! Live music, Bar, playground for your kids, big parking lot and you can enjoy the beautiful design. Highly recommended!

Food is good, the blackened seasoning is on point. Definitely not over priced, menu is good. The atmosphere is definitely southern vibes. Went on a Sunday night and no wait so that was was nice.

Getting seated with a family of 10 was not a problem with no wait. The food was great and served very quickly. Really enjoyed the way the place was decorated.

Good food stop for late lunch. This is a unique place and you will love it if you are and outdoors person or hunter. Its apparent that they like to show off trophy kills. They also do have game items on the menu. That being said it does provide for southern food. The grilled shrimp salad is good although we did not understand the lack of tomatoes. We got them as a separate charge. I ordered the chicken fried steak and I would rate it good but understand that the meat does shrink out. It does come with a half piece of toast but that day it was more like a crouton. Could have been a off day for the toast. I did like the option for peppered gravy vs brown. I chose peppered. Service was good overall. While we got there early, they do have an outside area with music on Fridays and a kids area. Menu had some options. While we normally get dessert, we passed on it this time but will take an opportunity in the future. On a scale of 1-5. I'd give them a 4.5. While I rated the atmosphere lower it was mainly for the feeling of sitting in the dark.

Wife and I attended a birthday dinner for a friend of mine and there were many people in our party. I ordered the large catfish and Shrimp dinner with grilled broccoli and a side of onion rings. The food was great and catfish tasted like farm raised no muddy river taste at all! The Onion rings were very large and delicious as was the broccoli! My only complaint was that there should have been one waiter (there were 3or 4) focused on tea and drinks. I ran out of tea and had to get up and go get some. There was no ketchup on the tables and had to go get some as well due to the waiters busy taking orders and delivering food. This is a great place to eat and have eaten here many times over the years. The food and service is good - try it for yourself and you be the judge don’t let all the negative comments judge for you.8/23/25

Came here randomly and it was very nice. They have a section for kids outside that honestly if I was kid I'd go insane there. The service was nice but the food we tried maybe was a little extreme for first timers but it wasn't bad. Would go again to try their other food selections We ordered a buffalo burger with a jalapeno bun (that I regret because it's not great/ it's very sweet and kind of throws off the burger ngl) my personal opinion ofc thankfully you get options so...., we also got some alligator bites that were so good I'd definitely recommend! And a Ribeye we order it with fat but it didn't have much and the meat wasn't as tender as expected.

The atmosphere is laid back. I went there on Sunday Apr21 to check out their live music scene. They had The Texas Heat band playing. They were pretty good. I only tried their Alligator Tail bites, and they were very good and well seasoned. The Corona's were cold and the salt and lime added a great taste. They went down pretty easy. Overall I had a great time.

The experience was over all okay this me fruit time here and it was kool place. I got the Exotic Plate which is gator,elk and quail bacon wrapped jalapeño popper things. Eh really care for the quail it didn’t have a flavor ; I tasted the jalapeño more than anything. Next time I’m going to see if I can just get like an elk steak and the fried gator was really good. First I want to say service was awesome! Everyone was kind and friendly! Food was lacking flavor. No seasoning at all. Was all bland. We got fried fish, chicken fried steak and grilled chicken. None had any flavor.

I was driving by this restaurant and the outside caught my attention. Pure Texas. Looked very promising, cool, and when I think about it now, very touristy. It worked, I turned around and decided to give it a try. I should have realized that the parking lot being empty during what is normally lunch time for most restaurants, (1pm), on a Saturday afternoon would indicate that looks can be deceiving. The owners have put a lot of money into this place. They have cattle statues outside to greet you, a large porch, a live music patio and even a playground for kids. Really pleasing to the eyes. The inside is full of Texas murals on the walls and cool taxidermy. Texas Western style. But the food was nothing like I expected. I was very disappointed. They give you a basket of mini cornbread muffins and butter which looked really yummy and southern for sure, but tasteless. Not even a tinge of sweet. Most folks in Texas ( not all but most) prefer sweet cornbread. These reminded me of dried up sawdust with egg batter. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. The corn was pretty bleh, the mashed potatoes were mid at best. The chicken fried steak was good compared to everything else. This had some flavor in the meat AND in the breading. So it wasn't a complete bust. I don't even like country music, but this place has a vibe and the music they were playing in the background killed the vibe altogether. Oldies classic rock like the Beatles don't fit this atmosphere they at all. Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Vince Gill or some 90's country playing in the background would make sense when there isn't a live band playing. The music they had was adding to the disappointment considering I thought this place would be 🔥. Lastly, they really need to replace some of the cushions in their booths. Busted up, flattened cushions need to go. My waitress was great and attentive. This place could be amazing if they worked on their recipes and added some real southern flavor, fixed the background music and repalced the crappy cushions 😁

Just cube steak with lots of gristle. Very disappointing. Baked potatoe was good. Ice tea was great. I would have given higher rating but it was all about the chicken fried steak.

If you like bland food this is the place to go. Whole meal was so bland not even salt and pepper. The “molten lava cake” on the menu was a bland cold piece of regular chocolate cake lol. Will not be back.

Let me start out walking into this beautiful place it was beautiful loved the decor and picture props we sat outside and had a wonderful time the kids loved playing on the playground!! Most of the food was delicious the Gator bites was the best gator my family and I had ever had!! The only problem we had was the steaks they were salty and wasn’t cooked like we requested the waiter was amazing great service

Major letdown Ive had this place saved for a while and we ordered off Uber Eats, food looks better than what it is. Everything we ordered was extremely bland.. not even salt/pepper. My boyfriend said the food was very mid before I even said anything. I had high hopes for the “lava cake” to be good at least but it isn’t your usual lava cake with fudge in the center it was just a cold bland dry piece of regular chocolate cake with chocolate icing :,) I saw other reviews about the food being bland and I should have listened.

If you are looking for a restaurant with a hometown/country style atmosphere Southern Komfort has it. If you are looking for mediocre to tasteless food Southern Komfort has it. I was all excited to get a chicken fried steak and at initial presentation looked amazing, then the disappointment was great when I dug in. The meat patty was super small, very tough and had absolutely no flavor. How can you mess up a perfectly good meal? Easy.. using cheap meat and no spices. Shame!
