If I could give this place 100 stars I would. WOW! I’ve been traveling the world, like all over the world, like Asia, Latin America, and Europe, and I can honestly say this food is at the top of my list! THE VERY TOP. I have ALOT of allergies so I just gave them the list and they took care of me — adjusting everything and tweaking recipes just for me :) The food is INCREDIBLE but WAIT there’s more. The service is THE BEST I’ve ever had. My waitress, Marilynn was the sweetest lady ever. The GM, the chef, Sous chef all came by to show love and ask me how I was enjoying my dinner. The atmosphere is 10/10!!! Newly renovated, super schick and beautiful decor. The performers were top notch and such a vibe! A man and lady were singing and playing piano and the saxophone and bringing all the jams. I cannot believe how much I enjoyed this place! Cannot wait to return!!! Highly recommend EVERYTHING.

Had a wonderful dinner here. The atmosphere outside was ideal. Our waitress was amazing (Marilynn) and she could not have been any sweeter. The cocktails were on point... Basil Me Down. Incredible martini! For food, we enjoyed the beet salad (fresh), the short ribs (so tender), the scallops (perfectly seared) and the lobster mac n cheese. Our dessert was an anniversary surprise. Very tart yet light. We will certainly return next year during our annual desert vacation.

Morgans in the Desert restaurant at La Quinta Resort is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion in Palm Springs. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch, and we were seated promptly since we had a reservation. I couldn't resist ordering the braised short ribs, which were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. My friends were equally impressed with their steak, sea bass, and pork chops. We also shared some sides & appetizers. The staff went above and beyond to make our birthday celebration memorable, even bringing out two desserts for the birthday person to share with the table. The ambiance was simply stunning - we chose to sit outdoors and enjoyed the warm desert breeze and the beautiful palm trees, which made for a picturesque backdrop. I highly recommend Morgans in the Desert for anyone looking for an great dining experience in Palm Springs.

Excellent. Service was amazing, food was delicious and thoughtful, and the ambiance was perfect. Definitely worth it. *Edit* We visited again and they continue to impress. Seared seabass with glazed lentils was delicious, and chef has continued to refine the braised short ribs. The new take on the Coachella Citrus is just as vibrant as the original I had before with far more subtlety. The ambiance and grounds are immaculate as always. Kudos to you La Quinta, you guys never disappoint.

Morgans is located at the La Quinta Resort and Spa.. when checking in front desk agent made a reservation for us! We arrived at 7:00, seated immediately in a booth. Restaurant is beautiful and menu has many seafood options… our Server(Adam?) was professional and attentive.. Wine list is outstanding! They have indoor and outdoor seating… Our dishes we ordered were all super tasty! Definitely recommend the Chilean Sea-bass it was outstanding! TYSM Morgans! We will be back!

Marilyn was our server and she was top notch. The misters made for a delightful outdoor dining experience even June. We started with the lemon drop and a Boulevardier, and their warm bread. Marilyn recommended the gazpacho with berries which was refreshing. Just make sure you like cucumber. After that we shared the mushroom bucatini which was absolute rich deliciousness. My partner had the filet with the added blue cheese crust and broccolini. Marily decanted our wine and it perfectly complimented our meal. The chocolate birthday cake is decadent but only available if you have a birthday-don’t we all have a birthday? Well, we did this night.

LQ Resort is probably one of the best properties in the desert and Morgan’s embodies the desert from a bygone era. Inside, the decor is so rustic and classic. The food, although pricey is great. I came here a couple years back and they were a little heavy on the salt but that has since been fixed. I’ve been here a couple of times in the past year and both times were excellent. The presentation is top notch and the food was cooked to perfection. It’s a perfect place for a celebration.

Amazing food! Everything we had was outstanding! Every dish looked like a work of art. We received fantastic service from Magdalena. Impressive wine list. Gorgeous setting for outdoor dining. Plenty of fire tables and outdoor heaters for cooler nights.

Established in 1926 this restaurant is located at the La Quinta Resort and Spa. All dishes for party of five were excellent. Top notch service. Great ambiance. There is a bar and lounge with live entertainment. Special mention for side dishes ginger corn, and creamed spinach. Main courses lamb, steak and short ribs were excellent.

First exsperience with this establishment and I highly enjoyed my exsperience. The staff was quick to sit us and we were assisted pretty fast as well, the waiter was more than happy to go over some of the detials on the menu as well as give personal suggestions as to what catered towards what we liked. I ended up with the filet mignon with a side of the macaroni and the fries with parmigiano. The steak was absolutely perfect, I'm a very picky person when it comes to a filet and having gotten steaks from $30 to well over $100 this was my favorite being about 2 inches thick it was cooked evenly and couldnt have been a better Medium Rare. The macaroni was good, I myself am not a fan of the bread crumbs and would not get it with the crumbs again but the mac itself was really good without being to thick. The fries were good, there was allot of seasoning but it wasnt over powering which was nice. Although I dont believe the sides to be worth their price the rest absolutly was Breakfast was the chocolate Bomba which was absolutely fantastic, it was a smooth melt in your mouth chocolate heaven, in the least haha I highly suggest to anyone in the area giving this place a try as its exspensive but well worth it in my opinion. Thank you,

From the introductory dirty martini with blue-cheese-stuffed olives to the tawny port with dessert, this place was on point at all points. Highly recommend!

Awesome restaurant and experience. Food was delicious and the service was great. Loved the octopus app and all the entrees I tried were great. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There is also a cool bar area that had a piano player that we enjoyed after the meal. Great night! Definitely recommend

I love this place!! Amazing food, and some of their cocktails are really nice. Their service is also top notch.

Driving up to the restaurant was lit up and very festive as it is December. There is a valet for parking your vehicle. The food was excellent for dinner. The starter special with a scallop with pumpkin and butter squash was amazing. The meat was cooked perfectly and would reccomend the fillet as the wagyu steak was a little gamey. The best side was the corn, but if the special lobster mac and cheese had a thicker rule and cheese sauce it would have been out of this world. Great place for a steak.

Just had the pleasure of dining here with my wife on vacation. We had Marilyn as our server and she was amazing. 10/10 service, 10/10 food, 10/10 atmosphere. The Filet mignon was the best that I’ve had in my life. We felt very welcomed and appreciated as a customer and will be returning. Thanks again Marilyn!

Food was decadent and plentiful. Drinks were inventive and strong. Our server was on top of her game. My water glass was never empty! The ambiance was breath taking and they let us hang out at the resort after our dinner.

I found this wonderful restaurant while searching for nearby steakhouses. I didn't realize at first that it is inside the La Quinta Resort & Club. It was easy enough to find as it is towards the back of the main large driveway. There was valet parking available, but we were lucky enough to find a spot. We checked in at the front booth and were seated quickly. This was on Valentines weekend and the place was very busy. There is a large outdoor seating area with heat lamps and partial coverings. Looked like pets were allowed out there. We were seating inside at a 2 top in the bar area. There was a large seating area on the other side that I did not go to see. The bartenders were excellent and were masterful at creating our drinks. A fine selection of spirits and a pretty big wine list as well. Our waiter was skilled and knew the menu well. He was attentive without being overbearing. Great service all around. Our steaks came out a perfect medium rare. For our side dishes we ordered green beans almondine and creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was a tad thin but had incredible flavor. Green beans were perfect. The location was around a half hour away from where we were staying and another half hour from where we needed to go. No complaints. This place is worth the drive.

We dined at Morgan’s for the first time recently and our expectations were absolutely exceeded. This was in large part due to our fabulous waiter, Abdiel who was professional, fun and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back and hope to see Abdiel again.

I unfortunately did not get a chance to eat here on this visit, but I love going into the bar area and sitting there having a wonderful drink while listening to the piano player. What a great atmosphere, what a gorgeous property this is!

Morgan’s is our go-to date night spot whenever we’re in Palm Desert — and for good reason. From the moment you arrive, everything from the setting to the service exudes understated luxury and charm. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the food is consistently exceptional, and the live music adds the perfect touch to an already unforgettable evening. What truly sets Morgan’s apart, though, is the team. From the manager to the bartender to the wait staff, every member of the crew operates with a rare level of professionalism and care. It’s a standard of excellence that’s hard to come by these days — and they’ve mastered it. We’ll continue coming back again and again. Morgan’s never disappoints

Morgan’s in the Desert restaurant review 4/8, 9 & 10,2025: They have a new Executive Chef. We booked dinner reservations at Morgan’s restaurant at La Quinta Resort for three evenings in a row for April 8,9 & 10 in 2025. We had a large family gathering of 9 at the table each evening. I called Executive Chef Andrew Cooper to see if he could provide a custom birthday cake for two of the evenings. Executive Chef Andrew was not simply accommodating, he made additional recommendations to make our birthday evenings even more special. Chef Andrew personally came to our table several times to let us know what additional services his staff could offer us. He introduced us to our servers each evening, suggested dishes that he would make for us that were not on the menu & was incredibly gracious about accommodating dietary requests. I wish I could remember all of the staff names, but I want to give kudos to Chef Rene & our female server the last evening – she was every inch a polished, gracious professional. We all felt like we were the most honored guests each of the three nights we dined in their beautiful outdoor courtyard. He invited us to a private kitchen tour & introduced us to key staff. On the birthday of our 9-year-old granddaughter, he personally took our 3 little granddaughters into the kitchen to teach them to prepare pizza for our complementary appetizer. They loved the experience & were so proud that they all sat politely at our dinner table to relish the pleasure of the adults enjoying their pizzas. The first evening Chef Andrew insisted that we accept an appetizer of some exceptional sauteed mushrooms (I think they were Maitake – new to all of us). We enjoyed them so much that we ordered them the next evening. I could go on & on about their cuisine & service. What a treat to enjoy three al fresco dining experiences in a row that pleased a table of folks who have eaten at restaurants in Paris, Italy, New York, San Francisco & LA (not to mention their 3 little granddaughters).

Wow. Unexpectedly surprised by the quality of the food and service at Morgan’s at the La Quinta Resort. We have lived in La Quinta for 9 years and have never eaten at any of the restaurants at the resort. We went there for the Sunset Menu with friends and everyone was so impressed with the presentation and delicious food that we enjoyed. The service was great and being able to sit outside was a bonus. Highly recommended.

Morgan's is a must every single time I visit La Quinta in Palm Springs. This July was my 5th year there around the same time. The food is amazing, presentation and flavor are to die for. The servers are always ready and anticipating your needs. Chef Cooper congratulations! See you all next year.

★★★★★ My wife and I dined at Morgan’s in the Desert last Sunday, and it was an unforgettable five-star experience! The front-of-house staff greeted us with warmth and provided impeccable service throughout the evening, ensuring every detail was perfect. The back-of-house team, led by Chef Rene, delivered cuisine that was nothing short of extraordinary. Every dish showcased vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients, prepared with remarkable skill. My 8oz USDA Prime Filet Mignon with roasted Brussels sprouts was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and expertly seasoned. My wife’s Sautéed Garlic & Capers Baja Shrimp with Whipped Potatoes was equally outstanding, with succulent shrimp paired beautifully with creamy, gluten-free potatoes. The Lotus Biscoff Cheesecake and Black Forest Tiramisu desserts were flawlessly executed, capping the meal perfectly. Meeting Chef Rene was the highlight, as his passion for Morgan’s rich history and his inspiring journey to becoming Chef de Cuisine brought the evening to life. His dedication to mentoring his team was evident in the back-of-house staff’s exceptional work, which shone through in every bite. The personal connection we made with him was truly special, and we’re thrilled to return . Morgan’s in the Desert is a gem, blending phenomenal food, outstanding front- and back-of-house teamwork, and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommend!

My fiancé and I ended up dining at Morgan's for dinner 2 of the 4 nights we stayed at the resort. The food was fantastic! I'm not vegan but ordered the risotto both nights and I'm still thinking about it a month later! 10/10 recommend. My fiancé ordered the ribeye with bernaise both nights and he was impressed as well. We ordered the grilled shrimp as a starter which was fantastic - I wouldn't order it as an entree though due to size. It's definitely more appropriate as a starter or supplement to your entree. It's the upscale restaurant at the resort, but out of all of the dining venues we thought it offered the best value.

the Absolute BEST FOOD, PEOPLE & SERVICE, Sal is a gentleman of a waiter, RENE puts a lot of heart and hard work into his craft as a chef, and he has an amazing assistant, RIGO. they actually gave me a tour of the kitchen when my Meal was done and their kitchen was beyond clean and it actually looked like a nice work environment

I ordered the scallop pasta here about a month ago, and I still can’t stop thinking about it. It was the best pasta I have ever had in my life, and I will be coming back for it. The venue is also beautiful, staff were attentive, and the hotel as you walk in and out, is gorgeous.

We had a great time at Morgan’s! The atmosphere was welcoming, and we never felt rushed—neither when ordering nor while enjoying our meal. Our experience was made even better by Javier, our waiter, who helped us select a great wine and offered thoughtful food recommendations! The food may take a little while, so I recommend some patience—but it’s absolutely worth the wait. Overall, a great experience!

Our first visit to Morgan’s in the Desert didn't go as planned. Despite having reservations, we were seated outside in the heat and had to wait over 40 minutes for an indoor table. The watermelon salad took over an hour to arrive and was simply chopped watermelon with some salad sprinkled on top. Our fries sat under the heater for too long and were hard, while the seafood linguine had dried out under a lamp and contained only two shrimp and tiny scallops the size of peas. We waited over 1 hour for our food. However, Brian from Morgan’s made a huge difference. He invited us back for a second chance and ensured we had a much better experience. This time, we got good seating, and Brian treated us to the summer menu fixe, which included a delicious mozzarella and tomato salad, basil pasta, and a peach crumble ice cream dessert. The service was excellent thanks to Brian. I will definitely return because of him. Thank you, Brian, for offering us an amazing second experience!

Great food... great service.. I have had better pork chops... but the rest of the food was amazing... the carrot puree was an amazing starter. Our server was amazing.

Second time coming here from out of state. Overall, had an enjoyable experience. The root garden beet salad left a little to be desired. The sea bass and short ribs were quite good. The Lotus cheese cake was large enough to share and a nice end to the meal. Enjoyed the live piano music and singing. Good for date night or special occasions.

Food was amazing & so was the atmosphere. Prices for some of the items seemed a bit much but for the flavor was worth it. My waitress was not really around as much. Took a while to put in my order & took a really long time to take my payment.

Morgan’s has unfortunately taken a turn. I used to love having dinner here when we stay at the resort, but our dinner tonight was really disappointing. The menu looked very scaled back and the waitress confirmed it changed a couple weeks ago. It’s a shame. Carpaccio was mediocre. Salad was basic. Filets were nothing special. $18 for a side of basic mushrooms is insane. We likely won’t return.

T
Todd Quintero

Unfortunately I expected more from a high end restaurant inside of LA Quinta property. The ambience is spectacular and the waiter was not as accommodating as he should have been. I requested asparagus with my Chilean sea bass and was told they didn't have any,, then I asked for broccolini and was told again they didn't have any; I had to settle for some spinach in some sauce that I didn't like at all. The Chilean sea bas was blend and I didn't eat my food. For such high end pricing I expected flavorful and delicious food, not mediocre. Never will go there again.

M
Mubarik Ahmad

Service and atmosphere is good. Food is mid at best, like low mid. It seemed like food was prepared with low quality ingredients. Flavour was seriously lacking.

If you don’t have the capacity to h host a wedding and still provide timely service at the restaurant, then don’t have the restaurant open. Our waiter tried his best but the food took forever . For the prices charged this simply should not happen . The food was mediocre at best. I had to send back my risotto as it was a big bowl of salt. My husband’s salmon was over cooked. I would not return. Restaurants like this don’t care because they will always have customers from the hotel and weddings etc. they will all make money.

I wish this was a better review....we came to the resort for my birthday....we made a reservation at the nice steakhouse hoping for a romantic evening... we ordered the seafood linguine and a steak. My wife ordered a drink (lemon drop) that she loved and our order was taken. The linguine came out dry as a bone and the scallops were cold...it had obviously been under the lamp too long. My steak was cooked perfectly (which is what saved the food score). When we told the waiter , he asked if we wanted it warmed up....not what I wanted to hear from a $48 dinner. It was butter noodles and 4 tiny scallops and 2 shrimp. We are not picky people by any means which is why it pains me to write this...at the end we did have it taken off the bill ,but only after having to ask, it was not offered. As far as service...my wife loved her drink and was never offered another...disliked her meal and was not really offered another .. but other than that it was a nice time.

S
Steven Campbell

Easily the worst meal we have had in a long time. Pork Chop came from a salt mine and was tough as old shoe leather and sea bass was absolutely fishy. Bread was good, as was the wine. Setting spectacular, servers nice. Without these positives, I would give it 1 star. Will not repeat....there are lots of other wonderful options in the area.

Terrible experience at Morgan’s. After we were seated, the waiter never came by. After 25 minutes, we finally asked if we can have some water (mind you, it was over 100 degrees and we were seated outside). Another 20 minutes later, our waiter was still MIA so my husband finally asked the front desk if they can grab our waiter so we can put in our order as we have already been seated for 45 minutes and haven’t seen our waiter. He finally came by and took our order. The food came out shortly (and it was good) but we had no utensils so we had to ask for that which took a few more minutes. The waiter never came by again. So, after were done with the main course, we waited another 15-20 minutes and finally my husband went to the front desk again to ask for the check. We skipped dessert because the waiter never came by after our main course was over. The whole experience was ruined by the terrible service.

My experience with this establishment was very disappointing. I chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday, specifically noting the occasion in my reservation. Upon arrival, the hostess asked if there was something we were celebrating. We informed her we were celebrating a birthday, however, that was the last time it was mentioned. Neither the waiter nor the management acknowledged the birthday. There was no complimentary “happy birthday” treat that even the smallest of restaurants will offer their guests. Not a single small gesture, nothing. The service from our waiter was some of the worst I’ve experienced in fine dining. He was completely inattentive; I actually had to prompt him to tell us the specials of the day. When I asked if the kitchen could add lobster to the macaroni & cheese, I was met with a flat "nope" maybe the kitchen and chef were overwhelmed with the almost empty restaurant. Meanwhile, I watched the staff go above and beyond for the table next to us, which made it clear that they prioritize certain guests over others. Ironically, the busboy was more attentive than our server. He was always available for refills and other small requests. Overall, this is a beautiful restaurant with a warm environment, however the service was severely lacking. If you want a high-end experience where you actually feel welcomed, go to Mastro’s, LGs or Ruth’s Chris for a good steak . They actually understand hospitality.
