We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant for our anniversary yesterday. My husband and I both had the chicken wings and bruschetta to share for an appetizer. Both were delicious. For the main dish, we both had the spaghetti and parmed it! The highlight of the meal was the butter pecan cheesecake! Absolutely amazing! We had a wonderful waitress too! Jamie M provided excellent service and was very friendly and attentive. She made great recommendations for a delicious wine too!
A booming, old school, Italian restaurant at its finest. The atmosphere, the decor, and the food were OUTSTANDING. The meatball with mozzarella was absolutely phenomenal. We ordered the Ragu and risotto as well as the Bolognese. You can’t go wrong with either. We were so impressed that we are bringing our family here for our Christmas dinner. Perfect for a date night. Very cozy. A wonderful experience.
Mulberry is my favorite place to go whenever I am in the mood for authentic Italian dishes. All of the staff is so friendly, they make you feel like family. The wine selection is incredible and the desserts are to die for. If you’re looking for a magical atmosphere for the holidays, make sure you make a reservation to see the restaurant, the decorations are jaw dropping!
Excellent food, atmosphere and service. They get insanely busy at dinner time so reservations are highly recommended to guarantee your table. We got the arancini, gnocchi and Joe Shaw Rigatoni dishes- all were delicious and full of flavor. The Joe Shaw was the best pasta dish I’ve ever had!! Their cocktails are also very good. Mulberry was packed will orders and food still came out timely and with a smile. Great service and all around great place!
The restaurant is located in a residential neighborhood, but luckily there’s a parking lot right across the street. The space includes a main dining room along with a few side areas. The atmosphere is really inviting, inspired by a blend of Italian and Italian-American culture. The staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and totally professional. The restaurant also has a great bar. We tried the lasagna and the meatballs — and the meatballs are truly their signature dish. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth stopping by!
2nd time at Mulberry Italian Ristorante tonight. We are from Long Island. Our daughter goes to school here in Buffalo and we were here back in May. We knew our daughter who has celiac disease could order an amazing gluten-free meal like she did then. We started off with the enormous meatball appetizer and garlic bread with melted mozzarella.( this was not gluten free and although we felt guilty eating it in front of her, she was fine because she knew how good her dinner was going to be) Our server Jamie was beyond accommodating and so pleasant. I don't know where to begin but from beginning to end, the experience was incredible. The service, the food and the ambiance was perfect. Jamie made sure our daughter had the best meal, minus the gluten!! She ordered the chicken Violante with gluten-free pasta, gluten-free chicken cutlets & the spicy vodka sauce. The rest of us ordered The Chicken Parm Milano with spicy vodka sauce. The chicken cutlets were enormous and the servings were huge! We all took half of it home. I can't recommend this place enough. We will certainly be back!! Thank you Mulberry Italian Ristorante for making this such a great gluten-free experience for my daughter. This is a rarity & you made this Mom very happy. Huge👍👍👍 for Mulberry Italian Ristorante in Buffalo. I happened to catch an episode of Diners Drive Ins & Dives one night and knowing we were headed up to Buffalo back in May, I made a reservation. Guy ordered the meatball appetizer which was literally the size of a ⚾️ and the lasagna the size of a 🧱 so that's exactly what we ordered. Pictures don't do it justice and we took half home. They even had gluten-free pasta and meatballs for my daughter who has Celiac disease which she inhaled. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're ever up here! We are headed back up again in a few weeks and reservations have already been made!
I hadn’t been here since I was a kid with my grandparents. They haven’t missed a step. The food was phenomenal, we ate all specials, everything was cooked perfectly. The staff from host to waiter to chef all were so light and kind. I keep telling everyone to go back
The best lasagna I've ever had. Ever. E-V-E-R. By a WIDE margin. This was the 5th time for me, but the first time for my wife. We unwisely showed up without a reservation. They were booked solid, yet after hearing we'd come from out of state, they went above and beyond and found a way to seat us at an intimate table. Because they make the lasagna in the morning and keep it simmering, it arrived at our table literally 5 minutes after we sat down. This lasagna is flawless. Perfection. The Chardonnay was solid, too. Just a wonderful experience. If we could give 6 stars, we would.
My wife and I had a authentic Italian dish 😋. The lasagna which was one of the best ww ever had. Highly recommend for the food, atmosphere and the service. All were exceptional. Thank you Brenda S. for the wonderful time.
Mulberry never disappoints. Delicious, fresh Italian food. Engaging, friendly wait staff. Lively atmosphere. A must when in Buffalo!
Lovely, authentic, Italian recipes that would make anyone's Nona proud. We went to celebrate our 30th anniversary and absolutely loved it.
We were invited for a special 8 course meal at Mulberry Italian Ristorante. The chefs did a fantastic job. This was all stuff you'd never think about having here. It was delicious and the service was excellent. We love Mulberry and will definitely be back. Maybe next time for some regular food like their delicious giant meatballs.
Best way to spend out 1 year wedding anniversary. Food was outstanding and service was nothing but perfect.
Ver good service and excellent food! My wife and I were treated like we were VIPs! The only thing that was a little bit annoying was the volume of the front part of the house, very loud and hard to carry on a conversation, but other than that, wonderful experience and highly recommend it.
Here for my birthday. Recommended by golfer friends (we are from Canada) We were in the back dining room which was a more intimate environment than the front of house which is more like a bar. Amazing place even though it's off the beaten path. Absolutely fantastic food. So tasty.
A Hidden Gem in Lackawanna – Mulberry Ristorante Delivers Big on Flavor and Hospitality If you're a true foodie searching for an unforgettable dining experience in Lackawanna, look no further than Mulberry Ristorante. This bar/restaurant effortlessly combines a welcoming atmosphere with top-tier service and a deep appreciation for great food. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the cozy yet lively ambiance, accentuated by a stylish bar area, a charming still court, and nostalgic memorabilia that adds character to the space. But as any dedicated food lover knows, décor is just a backdrop—the real star here is the phenomenal food. I started with the chicken wings, and let me tell you, they were nothing short of spectacular. Perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. These weren’t just good—they set the standard for what great wings should be. The mozzarella sticks followed suit, oozing with rich, melty cheese encased in a golden, crunchy coating. Simple yet executed to perfection. Beyond the dishes I tried, Mulberry’s menu is calling me back for more. If the wings and mozz sticks are this good, I can only imagine what the rest of their offerings are like. The dedication of the staff and kitchen crew is evident in every bite, and they deserve all the praise for making this spot a must-visit. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Mulberry Ristorante is a foodie’s paradise—I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Mulberry’s reputation proceeds itself. I live an hour and a half away and I had heard multiple times how extraordinary their dining experience was. So I gathered a couple girlfriends and we planned a road trip to find out for ourselves how good it really was. Mulberry’s did not disappoint. I will say this was a plan ahead experience because it took a couple weeks to get a weekend reservation. We were very happy we spent the time to visit and enjoy. Our garlic bread appetizer was huge and delicious. I had the chicken and wild rice soup and it had so much flavor. The girls enjoyed their salads and then came the entrees. The famous lasagna was made with a delicious sauce, a ton of mozzarella and other cheeses and a ton of melt in your mouth slow cooked beef. It was a very large portion and one of the best pieces of lasagna I have ever had. The cannelloni and stuffed shells were similarly delicious. One downside was we were too full for dessert. For those worried about the price that is then the best part, three soup or salad, a shared appetizer and three entrees was $108! That was a value in my opinion for a lovely shard Italian meal with friends in an inviting spot. Thank you, Mulberry’s! (And Go Bills!)
We loved the atmosphere. All the staff were very quick and very nice. We did have to reserve. People were dressed well or dressed up. I did not see children. It's a more fine dining type of place. Small parking lot across the street. The food was fantastic. The small menu is not complicated. Homemade Italian food. Good prices. Highly recommend.
First, Rene was an outstanding server. Food was great. I had the Alfredo with chicken. My wife had the ravioli. All was good.
After moving to the Buffalo area, I’ve been on a pasta tour and this place is by far my favorite so far! The salad was fresh, meatball was perfect, bolognese was delicious and to my liking, and ended with an rich espresso. I enjoyed every part of my meal. Service was fantastic. Overall, can’t wait to come back to try more dishes.
Mullberry's is a staple and a must visit. Food is excellent and portions are huge! You have to have reservations most nights and it gets pretty loud. The back room is more quiet but also not as much of a vibe. The eggplant parm is my go-to and I highly recommend! My fiancé got the lasagna this time and said it was fantastic (also HUGE).
My first time here, and on ny birthday. Had the Chicken Parm, very impressed!! The staff is friendly. Very good place, the portions are excellent.
I had the Pasta Pinelli lunch size which is named after one of their frequent customers. It seems to be a seasonal item with white wine, broccoli, tomatoes, halibut fish, cheese, and sauce. It was incredible! Lisa was my server and she was great helping me out.
i loved this! amazing food too. there is a bar and dining area then a little back room that is a more intimate/private dining room that has about 6 four tops and one long table w prob 8 chairs or so. food was so amazing! service was pretty good, food took about 20 minutes witch isnt terrible but couldve been faster. but drink refils were super fast and i didnt even have to ask, she saw i was done and js brought me another. The meatball was fantastic as well as the sausage. i highly highly recommend ❤️
Amazing food. Great ambiance. Lively employees.
I had reservations at Mulberry’s for my birthday, but when my friends bailed, I decided to eat solo at the bar. Thankfully, the fantastic service and incredible food more than made up for it. The bartender was very pleasant and attentive. I enjoyed stuffed banana peppers with just the right kick and the eggplant panino that was perfectly crispy and satisfying. And the tiramisu for dessert was incredible! Overall, the experience was a win! TL, DR: it was super yummy and I’m going back ASAP.
Plenty of parking, comfortable seating, beautifully decorated, and friendly service. Everything was near perfect and then the food arrived. A meatball the size of a softball drenched in tomato sauce was firm without being too heavy. We also ordered the rigatoni alla vodka, Joe Shaw chicken rigatoni, and the manicotti. Strong rich flavours clung to the perfectly al dente pasta. We will definitely return for more. Reservations are definitely recommended!
My husband and I had reservations and were seated promptly at what he felt was the best table in the restaurant. I ordered the House Lambrusco and was very pleased. I had never tried a Lambrusco. It was a fruity, semi-sparking red wine that was not overly sweet. My husband had the House Montepulciano D’abruzzo which is a good choice if you prefer something like a Cab. We shared the octopus appetizer. The capers and sauce really saved the dish. (It was good but average). I had the Lobster Fra Diavolo which included generous portions of lobster and was very good but could have brought a little more spicy for my liking. My husband thought the ricotta gnocchi was “ridiculously” good. (They melted on the tongue.) I was not disappointed with the Limoncello ricotta cheesecake that tasted exactly like key lime pie. This was our first time dining at Mulberry’s. We have enjoyed takeout numerous times and our dining experience did not disappoint. Our main server Terra and all of the assistants were very pleasant and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxed and very much the family-neighborhood vibes. It is not the spot for romantic ambience.
My wife and I are regulars here despite living 2 hours away in Ontario. Always amazing, superior quality and great tasting meals! We had the giant shells stuffed with cheese and the rigatoni with pork, sausage and meatball pieces (special that didnt last long!). Our recommendations below are based on multiple visits. We look forward to our next visit. PS. Make sure you call ahead to make a reservation, otherwise you probably won't get in.
After hearing about this restaurant for years, my wife and I traveled there from Canada to celebrate her birthday. We were not disappointed! We loved the quaint atmosphere, and the many personal photos adorning the walls. We enjoyed our tasty and plentiful beet salad and stuffed banana pepper appetizers. The (very large) Lasagna entree was the star of the show, so unbelievably juicy and tender...didn't even need a knife to slice off the pieces. The Chicken Violanti was also very tasty, and our bottle of Italian red wine completed a wonderful meal. I am also so appreciative, I forgot my cc when we left, but received a phone call while still in the parking lot and was able to retrieve it before driving home. Thank you so much!!! It will definitely be a place for us to visit again, so many other enticing items on the menu that we saw being served around us!
Sitting in the bar area is kind of noisy but we didn't have reservations. Had about 30 minute wait for a table. With reservations we probably would have been seated in the quieter dining area. Loved it and will definitely put it on our go to option list.
This place is a real gem and the service is great , if you can sit at the bar which is literally the heart beat of the place. Have Lucas make you is speciality Margarita that is probably if not one the best I have had in a very long time. The food is spectacular and portions are generous. Definitely a special place with great everything.
This establishment is regarded as the premier Italian restaurant in Lackawanna. The cuisine is exceptional, and the ambiance is unparalleled. The most highly recommended dish is the meatball, notable for its size and reputation as the finest in the Western New York region. It is strongly advised to make a reservation on busy days, such as weekends and holidays.
For being in a new state and looking for a local place with great food, we were so lucky to find and be able to eat at this place! The food, was fabulous...staff was excellent and even got to meet the owner. What a great atmosphere and friendly place with fantastic food. We had the wagyu short ribs, stuffed artichokes, and the meatball with the homemade ricotta!! Absolutely perfect and will definitely be back just to visit here and eat!!
My husband and I had the absolute best time at Mulberry! Brenda was our server, and she was amazing, gave us some great recommendations and was extremely attentive. The food was some of the best food we have ever had!
We had a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious and clearly made with care and fresh ingredients. The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome without being overbearing. The atmosphere was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing meal. We’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The Christmas decorations amazing! Our waitress Allie was amazing and Happy Birthday!
Went in yesterday 2/18 me and friend sat at the bar and split two appetizers and two meals. There Lasagna is the best. Everything was amazing and huge portions. The two guys behind the bar were on point and couldn’t be better guys. I remember the one’s name was Nick and unfortunately can’t remember the second guy. Both were amazing
New to the area? Traveling? Try this place!!! It was October of 2019 when we visited. We were on a road trip from Texas and came through Buffalo for two reason. Martin House and Niagara Falls. Looking for a place to eat we came across this restaurant online. I was almost confused when the GPS weaved us through a neighborhood. Fearing it was taking us way off route we then came across the restaurant. Very non descript...very unassuming. Looks like it might had been an old grocery back in the day. We didn't have any idea what to expect. Very surprised...white table clothes, wait staff very dapper and upscale. I felt under dressed. It was mid day, so it wasn't busy. We were very pleased with the traditional Italian menu. First time I've ever had gnocchi! I was hooked! I've dreamt about this place for years. I'll defiantly make a point to eat here again if I'm ever back in the area.
Mulberry’s is a lovely, traditional Italian restaurant. It is set back in the old Bethlehem Steel neighborhood like a secret. I went for my birthday with my family and the food was fantastic. This isn’t my first time coming and it surely won’t be the last. The meatball I got was the size of a softball and the pasta was fabulous. My only complaint was our waitress was very inattentive and almost seemed too bothered to be doing her job. Everyone has a bad day though and it didn’t take away from the experience and the fabulous food.
Mulberry's is a hidden gem tucked away in a residential area in Lackawanna, NY. They are known for their top tier Italian food and on a side note their chicken wings are also amazing. The building looks small from the outside but when you enter they have the tables nicely situated top accommodate a good amount of patrons. There are many Buffalo Bills players pictures on the wall. The atmosphere is very inviting. Our server was a very nice girl that was extremely attentive to all our needs. The food came out fairly quickly for the amount of people that were there. My crew of 4 was there for a birthday celebration. We enjoyed the scallops w/ angle hair pasta, the Veal Parmesan chop, Filet w/ mashed potatoes and veggies and the Bolognese. All of the dishes were amazing except the sauce for the Bolognese wasn't great. When I go back I wouldn't order that again. Unfortunately the dessert was not very good. The lemon creme brulee was served cold, the top wasn't cooked enough and you couldn't taste any lemon. The cannolis was average. It was sort of a flop for an ending with the dinner meals being the star. I would definitely recommend going to eat here. Just don't get your hopes up for the desserts. The apps and main courses are where it's at. Tip: Try to make your reservation 30 days in advance. This places books up fast. I'd give this place a solid 4.25 out of 5. They need to work on their desserts and coffee selections and they will be a 5 out of 5 all day.
We were 3 girl friends out for dinner. Our server, though nice was not very attentive or overly accommodating. He took forever to come back after getting our drinks, and then was just blah! At the end of our meal he didn’t even ask if we wanted dessert, he just said are you all set, we had to ask about dessert. The food was OK, but all around just OK. At the start he plopped bread down on the table without a word, some was warm, some cold, some sliced thin so rather hard, some warm and soft. It was odd. We started with the stuffed peppers, they were very good. I had the baked oysters lovely style they were excellent, my wedge salad, however was very wilted, very small for a typical wedge, the dressing was very watery and the pancetta was pretty much non existent, you can see in the pic, keep in mind we did have a few bites before I took the picture. One friend ordered the beet salad which had piles of arugula but not much of the beets and other accoutrements; she also had the meatball which was very good. The third friend had the lasagna she enjoyed it and will have 2 more meals, it was huge! We had the peanut butter pie for dessert, that was good but nothing to write home about. The chocolate martinis and my old fashioned were all delicious! Will I go back? Probably, I would order differently and hope for more before saying I would skip going back again. I took a few pics but after we started…
Food is always great, love the atmosphere however; I’m unsure what you did to the meatball appetizer, but please bring back the original hand rolled one… I was here twice in the past two weeks and it’s different and definitely not hand rolled or for the better…
Mulberry Gnocchi was amazing. Stuffed mushrooms were also great. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere.
I ordered chicken ditalini soup(a cup) It was served in the same size “cup” that there dipping sauces are served in..The soup was extremely salty one taste and that was it. I also ordered fresh fried mozzarella bites. Six very small cubes… flavor was good. Waitress said they would remove the soup from the tab….. she never did . I eaten there before and it was excellent… yesterday very disappointing.
Outrageous pricing for what you get! The restaurant was festively decorated for the holidays. The service was fine. Our party of five arrived when the doors opened for lunch. Needless to say, we were the first to arrive, however, we were not the first to be served. Our waitress was friendly. I ordered Eggplant Parmigiana ($15.99), it also comes with a side of linguine. I didn't want linguine so I asked instead for their homemade pasta (for which there is an upcharge of $2.99). So for $18.99, I received one slice of eggplant and one cup of homemade pasta (gummy). For dessert, I ordered Tiramisu ($8.99) served in a shot glass (maybe a half a cup if that). Outrageous prices! I will not be returning to that restaurant.
Was thrilled to go back for the 3rd year of Christmas for the beautifully decorated room. Last year we did not get the decorated room with disappointment but understood so when we booked right at the 30 day mark, and requested the front room. On arrival, the hostess started taking us to the back room, I stopped the hostess and shared our request and was told by her that people book this 30 days in advance with that request and I said yes I was one of those. Also said I would wait, she said those tables are for larger parties (4) and I asked about a table for 2 that was almost done and was told the would be combining it to make a table of 6. That table was never combined and was used as a table for 2. The tables of 4 also had only 2 people at them. Again, it is what it is but don't try to appease me by saying something that isn't true. The save for the three stars was our waitress and the food was great. Just disappointed. If you advertise a holiday room, make sure customers get the experience they come for. Our 50 minute annual ride was met with disappointment for the second year in a row.
After much anticipation, my husband and I dined here for the first time for our anniversary. We were disappointed. With the price of the entrees our "chef" salad should have been included. Just romaine lettuce with ONE grape tomato and a few garbanzos? My lasagna was huge but lacked the depth of flavor I was craving. The bread was sliced both thin and thick and was cold. We tried the infamous meatball but thought it was rather dry. We ordered desserts to go. My slice of cheesecake was very skimpy for $10. Our waitress was nice but failed to ask if I wanted a second drink. I thought some items were overpriced. I realize our review is contrary to most but sadly we won't be returning.
My extended family say very good food but they were rushed out bc they had a baby. Baby was quiet and well behaved. No offer was made for coffee or dessert. Just dropped off the check and walked away. They noticed the same thing happened to another family near them with children. My family brought their own portable high chair bc they were aware the restaurant didn’t have them. No provisions for changing baby in the restroom. Felt so badly as I had recommended this spot for them for the holiday decorations and good food. Never imagined this type of service would’ve happened. My children are the future of these local establishments. Why would you treat a young family this way? TBH if it’s not acceptable for my children and grandchild to be there and treated with respect, it’s not ok for me to be there anymore either.
I have been here several times and never had a bad experience. But today was NOT a good experience. Our server was "Destiny". She NEVER came to check on us after our food had been delivered. She NEVER came to refill our beverages. The "World famous chicken wings" were HORRIBLE!!!! Ive had better wings at a dive bar!! Im my opinion She wasn't worth a $1.00 tip. Absolutely disgusted by the service!!!!
My wife had heard some rave reviews about Mulberry and had been wanting to try it for several weeks - so I brought her here for her birthday back on November 11, crossing the Peace Bridge from Canada to treat her on her special day. We hadn't made reservations but were still seated promptly by friendly staff. The ambience was akin to fine dining in a pub-style atmosphere - quite charming, actually. It's a cozy place. HOWEVER, my memories of this place will forever be tainted by food poisoning that I subsequently experienced - and for which I'm certain this meal was the cause (every other food item I had consumed in the previous three days was shared by my wife and son - neither of whom became sick). I had ordered a Mulberry Beef on Weck sandwich - which was piled sky high with succulent sliced beef. My mouth watered just looking at it. And it tasted great. However, a few hours later I began to feel ill. Later that night, I was vomiting and had torrential diarrhea (sorry for the gory details) - it was worse than any sickness I had experienced since suffering a case of listeria poisoning several years ago. It took me three days to recover, with my body aching head-to-toe, pounding headaches, and constant fatigue (while waking to go to the bathroom every half hour - it ran like water!). For about 24 hours I was burping the taste of the Beef on Weck sandwich - something I'll never be able to face again, I'm afraid. I did reach out to the management through their website to advise them of what had happened - in hopes that they would investigate to ensure removal of any contaminated food items (or utensils?) to avoid anyone else having to share this experience. This was done in a friendly manner with no threat of litigation. Yet, I did not even receive a simple acknowledgement from the management. That tells me all I need to know about this business. Loud and clear. This is not the type of review that I wanted to leave for this restaurant. They seem to be held in high regard and this is probably a very isolated incident. I'm really not sure. But it was my experience. And one I'll never forget, unfortunately. (My wife, who ordered a Chicken Parm dinner, enjoyed both the meal and her birthday, by the way!) :)
