Have you ever gone to a restaurant and simply just wanted to try out every item on the menu? That was our experience at this restaurant. The ingredients described for each dish looked incredibly interesting and the taste exceeded expectations. The service was warm and hospitable from the hostess who greeted us and escorted us to our table, to Marla who was our server and gave great suggestions and another server who checked in with us to ask about the new deserts on the menu. I want to come back and try more entrees!!

Jewel in a rather ordinary shopping mall, with nice outdoor patio area, and very popular including with families, though the service could easily keep up. Despite popular appeal, the food and drinks are exceptionally creative, with even the calamari elevated with very light batter, sishito peppers, salad and sauces. Cocktails creative too, though pricy. And, along with the food, very seasonally appropriate. Only complaint is the pricing of the wine, no red under $15.

Get the Mermaid cocktail! Adorbs and refreshing! We came in a little late on a Monday night and was served by Amanda. The service, food, and atmosphere were perfect for a date night. I'm looking forward to going back!

This is def NOT routine. Delicious devilled eggs - check,. Totally unexpected grilled cheese and Essentially tomatoes soup - also delicious... Premium pricing to match the menu - check. Don't got here to feed the fam on less than a hundee. They clearly take pride in their food and their pricing reflects it. Don't get me wrong, I am all about paying for good food, just a heads up this is a triple digit meal for three adults and 2 kids (without alcohol).

Great food, and very friendly service! All dishes had plenty of flavor. Service was quick and attentive and they found us a nice table outside when we popped in without a reservation at 6:30pm on a Thursday night, starving. Restaurant was busy but they didn’t give us any eye rolls. Instead they immediately helped us by turning on heaters outside, provided blankets and were overall very accommodating. Excellent food quality. Food was fresh, and arrived hot and presented nicely. We will be back!

We were a large group and every entrée we ordered was very tasty, but especially the Deviled Eggs and Bacon Wrapped Dates.*scrumptious* I ordered the Scarlet Brunch Burger and it was one of the tastiest burgers I’ve had! The ingredients in it were very fresh as well. My husband ordered the Colorado lamb burger and it was excellent! Everything was more than satisfactory! We were served wonderfully by every staff member. Highly recommend this cute place :)

My husband brought me here for dinner. We came on a Monday evening with reservations for 5:30pm, to my surprise the restaurant was almost full already. We met the owner Matt, who was very friendly and asked us if the table by the bar would be OK. It was perfect, we could look through a glass window and see the entire kitchen. Matt came over and explained the menu and told us about a very old Family recipe ( Liquid Gold), my husband had that, I got the shrimp. Matt and my husband hit it off right away. Matt introduced us to his lovely wife, who was the head chief. The food was outstanding, I tried a bit of the Liquid Gold and was impressed, it had just the right amount of spice but not too hot. Very good. My shrimp dish was also excellent. Matt’s wife is an fantastic chief. What a great husband and wife team they make. Matt recommended the Oreo cheesecake and brought one for my husband and I to share. The restaurant is cozy with a great atmosphere, the dinner was excellent. All in all it was a wonderful evening. I thanked my husband for taking me out for a really lovely dinner.

Today was the first day for Sunday Brunch. They have a fantistic menu. They have sweet and savory for breakfast. Along with their famous burger. The champagne mimosa it's great, they have several flavors. I tried the Cherry today it was really good. Live music and great food. I love this place. Matt and Paige are the owners and great people. Come here for Sunday Brunch, you won't be disappointed. I took my son there for dinner. The owner Matt took our reservation, it was a busy Sunday night, rainy so no one was at Sitting outside. Matt got us a great table even though they had a big birthday party going on. The food was excellent, service also was fantastic. Our waitress stayed attentive and came back to our table to check on us all the time. I can't say enough about how impressed I was with the entire experience. A wonderful menu and a truly great restaurant. I like desserts, and they had a great cream brulee. I'm going to make a point to go back there again very soon. Matt made us feel like we were close friends. I really love this place.

Fairly new place, but it already feels like a local favorite. Weekends are very crowded and reservation is definitely recommended. Interior decor is nice but the outdoor area is larger and more energetic with live music. You can tell that they are short staffed as they are always running around, but they still manage to deliver very friendly and professional service. Had Bronzino tonight and it was perfectly cooked. Cripsy skin and yet not overdone and the seasoning was understated to compliment the Bronzino's mild flavor. What was exceptional was the side vegetables. Cooked to absolute perfection to bring out the flavors but still maintaining the fresh crunchiness of the zucchini and the carrot. It was served on a bed of butternut squash (?) puree that was just heavenly. I'm a big meat lover but I think I almost enjoyed the vegetables more.

The food is always prepared to perfection. I have never received a meal or dish that wasn't piping hot. An excellent restaurant, with great service, and Rapid service. No waiting around for 30 or 40 minutes to get your food.

We were given a gift card for Scarlet and were not disappointed. I ordered the lobster roll and loved every bite and my husband had the bison burger and said it was definitely in the top 5 burgers of his life. The service was attentive and respectful. Yes, it is a bit expensive but it was worth it. We will definitely be back.

We were looking for a new place for dinner and found Scarlet Kitchen. Reading the reviews, we were going in with possibly a little lower expectations on service; however, we experienced wonderful and attentive service. The entire experience was great, and we will be going back. We had wonderful cocktails, tasty food, and very good service from all the staff. Give them a try, they are a hidden gem.

10/1/2023 Had reservations for dinner at 5:30 pm at Scarlet Kitchen & Lounge. We checked in to the hostess, who must have forgotten. we checked in as Yelp contacted me about a no-show. This was corrected. We saw Madison and Lorilie, who were amazing at our previous visit. Lorilie is amazing at checking on guests and providing answers to questions, etc. Ava was our server this evening and took our drink and appetizer orders. We started with clam chowder and tomato bisque soups...so good, especially on a cooler day. My wife was craving their halibut, but they ran out, so she ordered the grilled fish tacos, which she enjoyed. I had my go-to Filet Mignon and eggplant parmesean, which was outstanding. It was nice to see the restaurant busy and the crowd happy and conversing. We had a nice experience and will call next time to check on the fresh catch prior to arrival. Ambiance is positive and uplifting, and the staff is quite attentive and professional. Recommended Previous visit Tonight, we found a truly hidden gem right next door in Ladera Ranch. We made reservations for 6 pm and were greeted by the lovely and professional hostess. My wife chose to sit outside in their very nice patio. Once seated, we were greeted by Madison, aka "Madie," and she was beyond fantastic. Madison was a professional, kind, and amazing listener with stellar customer service skills. My wife and I both had a bowl of their tomatoe soup, which was so good and tasty. We also ordered drinks as they have a full bar, and the drinks are made to perfection. Lorilie also stopped by to see how we were doing and asked if we needed any refills or anything else. Lorilie was so kind and very professional. The establishment is very clean and well managed and the staff are quite efficient and pleasant. For our entrees, Madison stopped by and took our order, and my wife ordered the Halibut entree . The presentation, taste, and overall experience left her very happy and smiling. I had asked for a custom dish as I was craving the filet mignon and also the eggplant, so I ordered the filet mignon without potatoes or veggies and a serving of eggplant with marinara. All I can say is WOW. The filet was tender and cooked just as I had requested, medium rare, and so tasty. Great presentation as well on this dish, and the eggplant was cooked quite similar to the way I make it. The meal was fantastic. Overall, the wonderful restaurant, Scarlet Kitchen & Lounge, is a new favorite and our compliments to the chefs, staff, and management! Highly recommended!

Once we were able to place our order the food came out relatively quick and was very delicious. The helpers were quick to refill water and clear dishes, but the downside was most of the servers seem to be more into talking with each other than taking our orders or following up.

Fiancé and I were house hunting in the near area and wanted to grab some lunch nearby. This was the nearest plaza and we wanted to see what else was around that In-N-Out. We chose Scarlet since it had a nice lunch menu. Stunning interior and massive outdoor patio. Most of the patrons were sitting outside to dine al fresco, but we chose to sit inside since it felt more intimate/calm to us with fewer people inside. Plus the view of that bar wasn't bad to look at either haha. Their lunch menu boasted a big variety of options - sandwiches, burgers, seafood, salad and other small bites. I wanted something light, so I decided to go with the Butter Lettuce ($15.00) and add a protein, pan seared salmon (+$15.00). The butter lettuce was beautifully presented with avocado, watermelon radish, toasted pistachios, basil and a maple mustard vinaigrette. When served, they offer fresh cracked black pepper, which I loved. I did wish the lettuce was cut to bite size instead of giant lettuce cups to make it easier to eat without a fork & knife, but it wasn't too much work. The pan seared salmon was cooked to perfection with a golden crust, so no complaints. Fiancé ordered the fish & chips. Any time this is on the menu, it's a must get. Beer battered wild cod served with tartar sauce, scarlet sauce and seasoned hand cut fries. Overall, a solid meal and we left very satisfied. I'll definitely be back whether we find a home here or not. I am very curious about their liquid gold (pork & lamb ragout with pappardelle), so I can't wait to return.

Cold on patio even with heaters & blankets (full inside) , had patio heaters on empty tables - roll those on over to occupied tables...set my dinner down and provided no napkin or cutlery. Walked inside to hostess & asked for a napkin, was given small stack of paper bathroom looking napkins. A cloth napkin like everyone else would have been fine. Food was mediocre, not like I remember in the past. Tomato soup was bland, carrot tacos were meh... Haven't been in awhile, will not return. It's a bit out of the way for mediocre food & service. I like to support small/local but this place is not for me.

We took the food to go, for the second time. So no input on atmosphere or service. Monte Cristo basically tasted like French toast. Liquid gold was the big disappointment. Ragout is meat w/veggies. Really no meat and the tomatoes were very acidic. We also got pork tenderloin and soup. I must be the outsider, because most reviews like this restaurant, we wouldn't make it a destination.

I have eaten here many times and have had some great food. But, the last 2 times have been disappointing. My diet soda once again has been flat and watered down. The waitress immediately replaced it but, not any better. The pasta dish I had was so spicey I couldn’t finish it. Last time I had the burger I had to send the fries back since they were cold. I will go back and try again to hopefully have a great meal. The staff are always outstanding!

I convinced a couple that had been here before to give it another chance. We had a table of six yesterday and the food came out very sporadic. Every five minutes we’d get a plate. I can tell the waitresses are trying but they lack training and fall short of what a nice restaurant needs. Part of the dining experience is the service. I think they need a seasoned waiter that can take the lead and show them what they need to do. When the food came out it was decent. But we were all disappointed with how the experience was that the food didn’t taste that great anymore for us. They get the review from service being poor, food coming out at weird times and extremely slow. We will not be coming back unfortunately.

Scallops were the special for the evening and the dish was a pricy 58 dollars. The scallops were small and filled with gritty sand and rubbery. Very very disappointed.

M
Michael Kelleher

Nice atmosphere but the food was disappointing. The Lamb was clearly not good, so my wife sent it back for salmon. The fish was over-cooked and seasoning was nothing special. The biggest issue is we were initially charged for both disappointing meals. The server was great and the restaurant fixed it when we asked but they never had a manager or chef stop by for feedback. Disappointing! We were really looking forward to a nice meal but it certainly didn’t happen. Really too bad.

C

Got the “liquid gold” ragout as a takeout order for dinner. You would think the pasta was made of literal gold given that they are charging $35 for a basic pasta dish. Since the online menu has no prices listed, I didn’t realize until it was too late. The pasta was fresh and the sauce had a nice heat to it, but there was hardly any meat in the sauce, it wasn’t a huge portion, and at the end of the day, we’re talking about pasta with a tomato based meat sauce. I just can’t take a $35 ragout pasta dish seriously. This place needs a reality check.

We went to Scarlet Kitchen to celebrate a friend's birthday during OC restaurant week. But the restaurant seems to be run by inexperienced personnel. First, they didn't have the Restaurant Week menu ready on first day of restaurant week. Second, we ordered a few Jameson shots to celebrate my friend and during the second round they told us they ran out of Jameson. Even though there is supermarket right across the Plaza. Instead they gave us "something comparable" which turned out to be Makers Mark. I wouldn't say Whiskey and Bourbon are comparable. Third, due to all the confusion they decided to comp us a dessert. Then they realized it was my friends birthday where a dessert is often comped anyway. So they ended comping us two desserts between 6 adults and 5 kids, and they didn't even think about bringing out the dessert menu in case we wanted to order extra desserts. Fourth, the wait staff didn't seem to know much about the dishes and was pretty awkward at serving wine. Food was okay but pretty pricey for what it was. Ended up being a weird experience, and the only reason for not giving one star is that the food was okay. Doesn't seem worth coming back.

Our poor waitress clearly had more tables than she could handle despite working hard. Kale salad looked good but was tasteless. Club sandwich was also tasteless and they forgot to include the bacon. My wife seemed to like her burger. A very underwhelming experience overall.

B
Brittany V

Seated late, but had a very sweet and very kind waitress…tried to order filet mignon with a different side (as do not eat Brussels sprouts) was told by waitress that the chef/owner said she would NOT serve me the corn purée regardless of offering to pay extra for the side separately. The chef said outwright that we could not have the side no matter what. So in order to have the side my partner ordered the meal that came with the specific side and in total it was all disappointing. Both orders were mediocre, the chicken over cooked/dry, the steak ordered medium was bright red/bloody, and the corn purée was a mess. Most of all the chef/owner didn’t care about the happiness of her clientele. It was thumbs down, and unfortunately not a local favorite 👎 $200 dollars later, won’t be wasting our date night or our money again!

We’ve been here a couple times, but we had a bad experience last night. We had to send back the food, they need way more staff. We were there a total of three hours and had one drink and a meal and had to send the food back once. The service and food was poor because they were not well staffed. Full restaurant full patio, one server, one manager, one bartender, One bus boy, and one delivering meals. The explanation was that they were usually not that busy on Wednesdays. took us 20 minutes to get the check after asking for it twice then another 15 minutes to get it back. It was a frustrating waiting game.

My husband booked us a table on a Thursday night (5:30 reservation) as a surprise birthday dinner. It wasn’t that busy when we got there so we got seated right away. Our drink orders were taken shortly after and then our food order was taken a few minutes after that. My daughter ordered the filet mignon without sauce and asked for plain fries on the side. The server was keying the order into the device but oddly it took a really long time just to put that order in. It felt like it took a minute just to put my daughter’s order in. *shrug* My husband ordered the steak frites with plain fries as well. They got his order wrong when it came out. He decided not to say anything about it. I ordered the halibut which was delicious but it was slightly too “peanuty” for me. I also got the clam chowder which was alright. It came out the same time as my main which I thought was a bit weird but whatever. The server (who also happened to be the bartender that night it seemed) checked in on us maybe a couple times. We sat with our finished plates for several minutes until we decided to just leave and asked for the check…3 times to 3 different people. We didn’t bother asking to see the dessert menu because the service was so slow and inattentive. We finally paid and I think the hostess was apologetic and offered a reconciliation but we declined because we weren’t planning on coming back. We’re out of the restaurant at this point and then noticed that they were bringing out a complimentary birthday dessert with a candle. Hahaha! A little late there. The entire experience lasted about 2 hours. Despite all that, the servers and hostess were friendly though.

Prices don’t meet the quality here. Look somewhere else! The food was subpar and our filet was undercooked when we asked for medium rare. I did not send back the food. When you spend $60 on a steak you should not have to send back the food. (We saved it for our Golden Retriever, and she spit it out). The drinks were not the best. The atmosphere is mediocre. I can tell they are trying their best, but for the price they are asking the food needs to be perfect. Look somewhere else for the price.

Made a reservation for 7pm for two people. We arrived and were told it was at least a 20 minute wait before we could sit down? What’s the point of having reservations if you don’t even attempt to honor them. No one was even apologetic about not being able to seat us. Won’t be back and do not recommend.

Super dissapointing. Came after seeing the great pictures and menu online. We had lobster tacos and unfortunately it was such a dry bite of cabbage! The taco had 2 very small pieces of lobster, then overloaded with cabbage and a slice of avocado. No lemon or dressing nor seasoning. 2 bites of the 5 was minor lobster with cabbage, the rest just taco and dry bitter cabbage. For dessert we had 'souffle' which prior I learned was their lava cake. But no moist inside or lava.. just a little cake with icecream. For the modern higher end kitchen they market to be, it unfortunately was a very flat and boring dinner. Maybe a hit or miss at this place. Too bad.

Don't trust their menus if you need to be gluten free. My son, his daughter, and myself have celiac. We were pleased to see french fries as gluten free on the menu, nonetheless, we asked to make sure. They're not, they're cooked in a common fryer. It's unconscionable to have that and a number of other things listed as gluten free when in fact they're not.

Wow! So awful! I normally don't write reviews and especially like to write negative things about businesses. Things happen and I try to be understanding. Though, in this case I simply can't believe how poorly things went with dinner. It could have been a scene from a movie. My husband and I sat down for dinner. I ordered the lamb and he ordered the Scarlett burger. Our order arrived in a timely manner and we were off to a good start. Then cut scene... The toppings my husband ordered on the burger were missing. No problem. He let the waitress know and unfortunately my lamb was so salty that I couldn't even eat it. I like salty food so that's saying something. No problem again. I just ordered the burger lettuce wrapped since that would be quicker and then my husband and I could eat together. About 10-15 minutes goes by and my husband is starring at a cold burger and I can't flag anyone down. In the meanwhile it seemed that there was a manager and she came over and asked some new questions about if I wanted fries or the potatoes. The fries were unbelievably salty and she warned me they are prepped like that so I may want to try the potato. Which was nice but why over salt everything? My burger arrived but not lettuce wrapped. So she grumbled that the waitress didn't say that, and took it back. Then my husband's toppings arrived but his burger was so cold they had to take back the burger again. My food finally arrived while they were dealing with his meal. It was OK. And my husband's food finally arrived. it took so long that we barely ate together. His burger wasn't great but he was so hungry that he just picked at it. The seeming manager sat at the table across from us doing paperwork, hardly anyone there, didn't pay attention to the fact that we couldn't get the waitress to come back. Then, after all was said and done and many apologies later once the bill arrived, they didn't even think to say would you like a desert on us, a discount, a credit, anything at all. Everyone knows how expensive it is to go out and when you do, your hoping for a special meal and relaxing time. It was out date night and such a poor turn of events. The entire dinner was awful, and the service was atrocious. We are pretty easy going and friendly, and I can't imagine if that was a super picky or easily aggravated person. The entire staff would have had an ear full. It was an expensive dinner for what we got and if it was slammed I could maybe understand. But the place was pretty empty. They made sure we had water in between the food coming and going so that part was nice.

Had a very disappointing dinner at Scarlet Kitchen tonight. I admire this place as I'm sure they make money hand over fist--they're in a strip mall next to a Jersey Mike's, but they charge Newport Beach prices and their army of staff flips tables rapidly. But the food just isn't worth it, even when there aren't service issues. I'm vegan and my wife is vegetarian, so we have to research restaurants before we go. Scarlet has a great sounding mushroom risotto on their website, but when we tried to order it tonight, we were told they haven't had it in forever (since last fall, apparently.) The waitress had zero interest in helping my wife find an alternative, so she ended up ordering a side order of risotto and a side order of brussels sprouts. I got the only dish I can eat, the carrot tacos. We were only served the brussels sprouts and tacos, and the food runner didn't say anything about the missing risotto until I asked her. I was told it was coming, with no ETA. When our waitress came over she said the same thing--I asked, coming soon? Eventually? No response. When the risotto finally came out, it was so incredibly undercooked that the rice was crunchy. I asked for a manager for the first time in my life, and was told they'd comp the risotto, but she didn't make an offer to bring out a new one. When I asked, she seemed surprised that I wanted "more" risotto. That's not the word I would use--we were never served any edible risotto in the first place, and returned the original risotto with only half a spoonful eaten. She insinuated that we were trying to scam them out of free risotto when all I asked for was what we originally ordered. She asked what would make me happy, so I told her to refire the entire meal so my wife and I could eat our food together. To their credit, they did better the second time, with all three dishes coming out at the same time and cooked properly. The risotto was nothing special, the brussels sprouts appeared to be cooked in a deep fryer (bland, uniform in texture and color, and oily), and the carrot tacos were poorly conceived. They were described as "a play on pulled pork" but the carrots themselves were just shredded and crunchy (definitely not slow-cooked like the menu says), which is not a texture I'd typically associate with pulled pork. I asked for corn tortillas, but I'm pretty sure these were flour. The jalapeno was raw, which is an odd choice for such a tame dish--why not pickle it to take some of the heat down and play off the slaw? The tacos were also overstuffed for a single tortilla, and impossible to eat without the filling bursting through the bottom. As a vegan it's nice to have an option on the menu that isn't just another veggie burger, but this dish needs some work if a normal person is ever going to enjoy it. When we got the bill, the risotto was comped but they charged us twice for the brussels sprouts and the tacos. You'd think that someone would have double checked the bill when our table had obviously had problems and been promised a comp, but no. Their credit card machine also calculates tip based on the post-tax amount, which is a total scam and a pet peeve. When competition finally arrives to Rancho Mission Viejo, it will kill this place. Two stars because my wife loved the butter lettuce salad she had as a starter.

Ok, so 4 of us went for dinner. I had the lobster tacos. I love tacos and eat them regularly. I was shocked - there were 3 'street taco' size tacos - the 3 inch ones for $28, nothing else. Let's talk about how they were put together. On the tiny taco itself was a little (and I mean a little) sauce. So, when one thinks of lobster tacos (I've had many times), one tends to think to juicy white lobster meat. Not mine - the only lobster I had was the red part that I throw away when making them at home! Not one chunk of white lobster meat. Then the whole thing was covered with a ton of dry coleslaw. Two of us had the shrimp and risotto for $32 each and both felt it was bland and quite annoying to have to pick through the risotto and try to bite off the tails. Why not have servers ask if you want tails on.... Yes, we had some overpriced cocktails, but that clearly was not a $440 dinner... We dine out often and usually, the server will come to your side, pick up your plate and quietly remove it. Not our server - she preferred to reach over us, clank plate on top of the plate - please train your staff; we couldn't even continue a conversation. It wasn't as if they were out of tables and wanted us gone, there were several tables sitting empty by us outside. Not a good experience...

The food is poor. The lobster and fish tacos had no flavor. I got a nice glass of wine and the pour was 3 ounces. I should have sent it back but do not like being difficult. After spending $350 and dinning for 70-80 minutes, the manager asked us if we could leave so they could seat another group. We were all shocked and have decided to never go back.

The food was delicious! The waitress was kind & timely. Nice ambience. When the bill came, it was reasonable. But when I received my statement at home a few days later, it showed: Amount: $92.13 Tip: $112.00 Total: $204.13 What?! That’s absurd!!!! I tip 20%. I spoke to the manager & she said there was nothing she could do, & that it’s normal for people to tip that much. I won’t be back.

If you want to over spend for food with no taste this is the place for you and you like getting hair in your appetizer enjoy! Plus they don't even comp you for this grossly mistake.... No thanks there's a way better places to eat here in South County than this little wannabe eatery! I noticed people that love this place are not native to California that should tell you the type of food and service you will be getting.

Certainly one of the worst dinner experiences I have ever had at a restaurant! I brought my fiancé and our families to this restaurant to celebrate our rehearsal dinner and were immediately met with a confused and disorganized service. 4 of us didn’t get deviled eggs for 30-40 minutes as appetizers, my burger was delivered easily 20 minutes after everyone else received their food and then I was never brought my second beer. My fiancé had Lobster shells in her lobster tacos which she spent $28 dollars on. The chef came out and explained that eating the shells were normal and people should pick it out of their food? Making it seem like we were wrong for addressing it. The heater went out twice and their lethargic staff took forever to simply turn it back on, I had to walk to my car to get 4 girls sweatshirts and blankets. After receiving my bill, I decided not to tip. Why would someone tip for horrible service. Well, Hillary R. Our waiter decided to yell across the table and embarrass me for not tipping her, explaining that the service and food were the chefs fault. She was the server who was getting everything wrong. After we got up to leave, the lady started yelling and harassing others from our group. Especially when she scream to never come back... very sad service. Awful management. Will never comeback. Absolutely ruined our experience and made all of us extremely uncomfortable. Also, they kept touch are shoulders and getting in our faces... even when we would back up, they kept getting closer. Not sensitive to COVID-19 what so ever. I would give this place 0 stars on the service. Though burger was pretty awesome though, can’t lie. Serviced sucked!

In town from the east coast I was invited to this restaurant for a special occasion. My hosts had requested outdoor seating a week prior, reconfirmed 1 day prior. When we arrived on time they did not honor the reservation as they had accepted two 8 tops outside instead. The manager was very arrogant and clearly did not care if we stayed or left. My hosts are well connected in the local community and are certainly not returning. Neither are any of their friends. My recommendation to out-of-towners: Avoid!

The worst service ever! I order the the lobster tacos and noticed that their was shells in my taco. I immediately notified the waitress about the issue and offered to remove the tacos from my bill. Later the “owner” Hilary R. Cake back with an order of Kankakee tacos that I didn’t order. She kept making excuses saying “ it happens all the time” never in my life have I ever met an owner so unprofessional. She not only made excuses about the poorly service she offers in that restaurant but she told me that it was an inconvenience that I had made a reservation for 15 people. I was very shocked to hear this from an “owner” when I’m bringing business to her. When I asked to have the bill split she could again made comments that it was an inconvenience to do so. When we finally were able to lay the waitress asked why we weren’t tipping ?!!! Never in my life have I ever been asked to tip for an awful service! Every order was late and they weren’t prepared at all. Hilary R. Continues to Harassed my family by open clapping and saying that we didn’t tip her. So embarrassing for a restaurant owner to be little herself in this way. I frankly don’t think she’s the owner maybe her father owns the restaurant. She wasn’t professional and was very rude. I how’s rly think she’s going through some personal issues. How can we ever recommend this place again or tip someone when we were giving horrible customer service. I don’t recommend this place at all. The staff is rude and the food isn’t good either. To the real owner of this place... replace Hilary she’s gonna loose your business

I got the Lobster Grilled Cheese and I’ll just say this, the lobster tasted like it’s been sitting in a bag in the refrigerator for 2 weeks and it tasted way too rubbery. We also go the steak frites and it was medium well and well done after we ordered it medium rare. The burrata crostinis were amazing though.

Came here on a gift card from a client. Sat on the patio which was a nice atmosphere minus the bugs. We each ordered a drink which came out promptly. When it comes to the service though it was very slow. Only two waitresses working, no food runners. We each ordered burgers. I got the brunch burger medium rare (it really came out medium) it was very tasty. My friend got the bison burger ordered medium and it came out still mooing, literally raw…. The waitress took it back and we waited about 10 min for a replacement, she watched us cut into it, RAW again… Another 10 minutes and the third burger comes out, it was still not medium but an acceptable medium rare. Overall not a good look on this restaurant due to the kitchens lack of competence, safe to say we will not be returning. Nothing was taken off of the check as a good faith gesture, not even the $12 bottle of aqua pana and I wasn’t going to ask.
