Absolutely delicious. Great service. Super friendly staff.
Black Bean Deli is definitely one of my favorite lunch places in all of Orlando - this place hits the spot every time and the food is ALWAYS really good. If you’re ever craving Cuban food, this should be the first place you considering visiting! It’s got a great atmosphere, good service, and there is both indoor and outdoor seating. Do keep in mind this place gets pretty busy, and parking might be a little tough, so you might want to avoid coming at a peak hour! Everything from their coffee to their homemade Cuban baked goods to their actual menu items is so, so good. I absolutely love their cold brew (I get it every time), quesitos are amazing, tres leches is to die for, and guava/cheese pastelito is super good as well! Some top entree choices are the Cuban sandwich (of course), pan con lechon, Cuban frita burger, pan con bistec, and Havana pork. I LOVE their plantains and their black beans - you’ll get to try that with any entree though, so that’s another added benefit! Moral of the story: you really can’t go wrong here! Plus, for $9 you can get a really good Cuban sandwich with black beans and rice, and I think that’s a great deal for lunch. This is a wonderful Orlando restaurant and I can’t wait to come back again very soon!
The service was great as was the food. The double Cubano was delish. Their handheld items to the left of the counter are delicious. I had the picadillo empanada with plenty of filling and flavor! My husband tried the guava and cheese pastry. He said the flavor was balanced . The guava was not overpowering the cheese and the pastry was flaky, buttery and soft. Highly recommend. We'll definitely return for lunch before heading home.
Finally visited this place after passing by many times and hearing great things about it. Ordered the salad plate with tuna and it was outstanding. Fresh ingredients and excellent quality. Had the cheese pastry and a tres leches and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious they were. Definitely will be coming back to try more of their options.
We had a glorious meal here. We stopped in town to visit the botanical garden and this place popped up for lunch. Worth a trip!!
Awesome spot I really didn't know there was a Cuba spot downtown until then, food was actually great service was good great refreshing water on the side I had a Cuban sandwich platter under 10buck food Overflowing and the service was superb will recommend to anyone that's looking for a Cuban spot in Orlando
Been coming to this spot for years. The food never disappoints. I always get a cafesito and my wife a latte, and we always are pleased with the taste and service. There potato ball and the pastelillos of ropa vieja are also hands down a must everytime I go. Check this place out if your in Orlando. Trust me, you wouldn’t be disappointed. Just Go..
I work until 9am so this is a perfect spot to stop on the way home! Quick and delicious! And I'm from Tampa so I'm picky about my Cuban food!
Best cortadito I’ve had in both Orlando and Tampa area (they don’t have a location in TPA Bay, but I’m always hunting for a good coffee there as well to no avail). Their croqueta sandwich is delicious, they fry the croquetas at the moment which makes it even better. Tried their picadillo empanadas, also delicious.
Very good Cuban food and coffee. The portions are good size with rice, beans salad and small up charge for yuca. The salad adds a fresh to touch. The Papas Rellenas are very filling and taste excellent. This place gets very full during the week at lunch so be prepared to wait in a long line and hustle to get a table. Flan is also great.
Every bite is delicious but I usually get the Cuban Sandwich. The whole menu is so good but whatever you order don't forget to GET A SIDE OF THE YUCA FRIES! They come out piping hot, crunchy, and fresh!!!
I’ve been coming to Black Bean Deli since it was in its old location back in 2013. To me it is a staple must eat spot in Orlando. The pricing is great for the portions you get, plus the food is really good. You can’t go wrong with any of their platters. Their chicken is moist and really delicious!
Great food and great coffee. Being from the North, I'm not very familiar with Cuban food. Every other time that I've had it, I've enjoyed the unique flavors and combinations; but never was wowed by it. This place has changed my perceptions and does what a trip to Napa can do to your appreciation of wine. I'll be back soon.
Hands down the best black beans I have ever eaten at any restaurant or cooked homemade by all my adoptive Abuela's! The vegetarian plate is actually vegan and there are tons of choices: three different beans, all great but the black beans are indeed the best as well as sweeter or less sweat plantains. The salad and dressing is fantastic as well and the to get vegan yellow rice... LOVE! Now the best of the best is the vegan EMPANADAS. Absolutely pure pockets of perfection. Be aware though, they are so good many vegans think it's real meat!
Oh man thank you Google! I was looking for a place to get some Empanadas are last nught in Orlando and when I saw all the reviews and that it was still open at 9:30pm I thought why not. I had the chicken and my mom the beef and damn they were delicious! So sad I can't have them again. The staff were also all so sweet and didn't mind us coming in right before closing.
The customer service was great and the food was delicious. I would definitely visit again. I would recommend for visitors to lean more to ordering an item from the plate section. You will get more variety for your money. I had the Pan Con Bistec sandwich and my spouse had the spanish baked chicken breast plate. The sandwiches are a nice size but they do not come with sides. Also, the croquettes were delicious. The only reason why I give this location 4.5 stars is because of the parking. The parking was a little frustrating to figure out and find but it was WORTH it.
The best Media Noche sandwich in town - the bread is just right .. friendly staff & the outdoor setting is a great place to enjoy their authentic tasting CA’FE!!! Yummy yumm yumm!!!!
I drove an hour for this and im so happy the service was just as good as the food which is amazing :) everyone was super friendly and i felt like a scammer since it was so cheap and i got ALOT of food. This box of bread and butter was $5!!!! I give proper where it’s due 🍀 10/10 everything
Stopped here for an early dinner, and everything I ordered was absolutely delicious. I had a cuban sandwich, chicken empanada, and a cafe con leche. Not horribly priced for great quality food, would highly recommend it if in the area!
I’ve eaten here so many times on this trip to Orlando .. it is incredible!! Also huge shout out to Ally she is amazing, and has exceptional service — give her a raise because she is awesome!!! She recommended so many different menu items every time I went and thank goodness I took her recommendations because I LOVE the food!!! Amazing!!!!
Arrived from my NY flight and found this gem and i loved It! Omggggg my media noche sandwhich was unbelievable! The tres leche was bomb, and so was the lechon sandwhich sooooo juicy. Omg and it was soooo cheap too. Customer service 10/10 amazing!
Love, love, love! I'm all about this place. From food, vibe, cleanliness, decor, service, even its odd gas station corner location! Very reminiscent of a cafe/bistro/restaurant you would find in New York. The food was authentic especially the Cuban beans. It's rare you find a Cuban restaurant that perfects that authentic Cuban beans seasoning and flavor. Same with the coffee, pastries, and Cuban sandwich of course! This place was all around great! if you're in the area please do stop by. It's well worth it if you're on your way to downtown Orlando.
This place is like Starbucks meets Cuban meets hipster. Pretty neat little place. Food is excellent. I tried empanadas multiple times in Orlando at different locations, and this was the first one I actually really liked. Cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned. The coffee was amazing and the customer service was even better. The best part of it all was the music. Great staff good food. They even had lots of non dairy options.
Delicious, authentic Cuban food in a quaint, retro building makes it a Colonialtown classic. Enjoy their savory namesake beans paired with tasty sandwiches, fresh salads and more, washed down with a cold beer or a cafe con leche (and don’t miss the housemade flan.) Take out or dine in, including outdoor seating.
✅ Environment & Atmosphere: An interesting triangular-shaped parking lot. Overall a chill laid-back vibe. ✅ Customer Service: You’re immediately greeted with a smile. The cashier/server was welcoming and joyful. ✅ Quality of Food: The breakfast avocado and toast were a healthy option. I’m not a coffee drinker, but I had coffee today. The beef empanada was amazing; I had to take one to go. ✅ Recommendation: Must try.
Cuban done as "order at front" laid back fast food chain. Very good! I got the Spanish Chicken plate. Wife got a Chopped Chicken Bowl and a guava Pastellito. We both got iced café con leche (which was bigger than I expected); good espresso. Definitely hit the Cuban craving! I hope one of these opens near Lake Nona or Sunbridge.
Wow. Just wow. I was unsure about getting food from a new place for a quick bite to go but the reviews really helped me choose Black Bean Deli. The flavors are out of this world and i know good authentic Latin American food when I try it. Next time I order I'll have to stop by and dine in. I don't even like tomatoes and their salad (which is full of tomatoes) is great and light and I really enjoyed it. The cuban bowl is fantastic. The plantains are cooked perfectly. The onions have crunch and the flavor is amazing. Bravo 👏 👏 👏
Ordered takeout from here, and the food was delicious! I tried the Havana pork while my wife had the vegetarian bowl, both with yuca fries. Would heartily recommend!!
A rare example of a local restaurant that has only gotten better through the years. Good quality, service, and atmosphere! Cuban approved. The croquettas are the best in town taste and price wise. Everything tastes fresh and the service is always friendly. Plenty of inside and outside seating. Great for a solo breakfast or group lunch. No complaints! Thank you black bean! Happy you are around.
So much good food. For several years, I've been eating here, getting food to go, picking up a quick snack while passing by, and getting desserts as gifts. BBD's quality is very good — I remember that they even had a message on their website about maintaining quality when they had to adjust prices at one point. Everything is made fresh and very well on location. This location on E Colonial especially is very consistent with seasoning and the cook of the food.
This spot is amazing! I got the croqueta sandwich and café con leche, while my boyfriend tried the media mañana sandwich. Both sandwiches were so good, as well as the coffee. The staff is incredibly kind and the environment is well-maintained. We will definitely be back next time we’re in town :)
Black Bean Deli is always a great stop to start the day — the food, the atmosphere, and especially the coffee are amazing! A special shoutout to Manny, who’s always in great spirits and truly goes above and beyond. His attention to detail, friendly attitude, and excellent customer service make every visit a pleasure. You can tell he really cares about the customers and the experience. Thanks, Manny, for making mornings brighter and keeping the coffee perfect every time! I know it’s made with love!!☕👏
I was driving around this morning trying to find a decent cup of coffee when I saw all I needed to see "A Cuban Cafe". I enjoy trying to incorporate some of this generations slang when appropriate so I chuckled as I thought, "Say less!" and screeched into the parking lot. Nicole and Ricky were amazing and we settled on Rum Cake and a custom 4 shot of Bustello, sugar and cream concoction to get the party started right. If you have ever seen the movie "Ratatouille" you will understand how with the first bite of the Rum Cake I was transported back to my childhood and the feeling I would get when Mom would make a Rum Cake. That being said, break free from Chain restaurants, eat and drink independent and local. Roberto out✌️
stopped by today for lunch! I ordered the media noche sandwich, and my boyfriend got the roast pork bowl, both were so good 🙂↕️💓 flan was yummy, and the guava pastelito is so far the best I’ve found in orlando since moving here from miami. theres been some very questionable guava pastelito tastings up until today lol the cashier was super sweet and let me know they were on happy hour!! so we ordered the tostones which were the best part of the meal!! so crunchy and salty, sauce was perfect. they even passed out little cafecitos during our meal which was so sweet & reminded me of home :’) 10/10!! would eat again 🙂↕️💓
The food was absolutely delicious, the presentation was off the hook. The register lady, she was so kind and explained to me how the plates come and what to add as aditon like the YUCCA. The black beans tasted amazingly, the plantains were super perfectly sweet, the white rice even has good flavor. I personally would be back to this small mom and pop shop to eat other items on the menu. I would definitely try the (questito) warm or cold. I like it cold, for some off reason. Either way they are a must if you are getting some sweets after a delicious dinner.
Black Bean Deli is a great local spot that serves great Cuban cuisine for an affordable price. Their sandwiches are amazing, and the yuca fries are a must-have. They’re crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and come with a nice sauce to accent its flavor. Highly recommend to anyone in the area if you’re looking for a quick bite & nice atmosphere
By far one of my favorite places in Orlando, you can never go wrong here. This place serves up delicious Cuban food. I come here all the time and tend to get the daily specials and if your on the run you can always get a tasty empanada to go. 2023- Tried one of new Cuban Bowls and as usual, was completely satisfied with the deliciousness of the entire bowl. 2023-10 tasted the pork special and it was flawlessly delicious.
Great spot! Would recommend to people of all ages! Especially for those who dig Cuban fare.
Awesome food! Love the ropa vieja empanadas!! Super yummie !! I love the lunch specials! Very reasonable prices!

Love this place when I'm in Orlando. They have the best cafe con leches and had this new empanada that was like a Cuban sandwich. It's. A must try!

Welcomed upon entering. Two clean bathrooms. Seasoning in all the food was good. The chicken was especially delicious

I’m obsessed with their coffee here. A little over price for cafe con leche, but I understand they’re going with American prices. To be honest I pay it because it’s the only places that makes bustelo coffee perfectly. I get cafe con leche with oat milk and two raw sugars. Thank me later. Today we tried their ropa vieja which was their special dish of the day and my mom had their traditional Cuban sandwich. I’ve had their chicken dish several times and it’s consistently GOOD! they’re dishes come with rice and beans and you have the choice of white or yellow rice. It also comes with sweet plantains and a side salad. It’s a very fulfilling dish. I always have some leftover for later. It was my first time trying their ropa vieja and they nailed it. It was delicious and full of flavor. I love coming here and will continue to come and refer my friends, family and clients.
The Yuca fries were incredible. They were nice and chunky, extremely airy, and had a beautiful crisp to the outside while still maintaining a fluffy inside. The sauce was also the perfect addition to my new substitute of potato fries. The chicken noodle soup was tasty and a squeeze of fresh lime juice provided just the right amount of tang to the savory cup. I didn't order much since it was a quick stop, so I'll have to stop by to try more options. The service was very fast and friendly.
Stopped in for a late lunch due to a rather inconsistent schedule this week. Had never been here but once I was done at the customer’s site this was very close with good ratings. The friendly young man that took my order recommended the Picadillo and it was pretty good. Black beans and white rice with it were standard, a lot of juice in the cup of beans, like they served them with a ladle instead of a slotted. spoon.
People kept telling me about this place and they weren’t wrong. The Cuban sandwich was amazing, it had a good balance of flavor. But the highlight of my visit were the empanadas. I was actually amazed how good they were. They had plenty of options, the price was right and they were sized good. The Cuban bread slices were also good, a little bit on the small side, but they were packed with flavor. The plantain was just ok, I’ve definitely had better, but it’s not bad. Parking is a little tight. There’s a little bit of wait, but I believe it’s worth it.
Great little spot to get some lunch. It's a rather small cafe style restaurant so seating fills up quickly. There is outdoor seating for those that want to brave the summer heat or the current winter blast. Favorite items are picadillo, Havana pork and the pan con bistec. The coffee is delicious and the staff is friendly. I can't give it five stars for several reasons...the parking here is quite poor, service times can get backed up and there is no ropa vieja available except for Tuesday's. Odd for a Cuban place not to offer such a staple everyday. I still recommend a visit!
Black Bean Deli is a cute little Cuban American restaurant with a nice patio. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the people. The food was good... but not impressive. We expected the it to be a little more authentic. Everything we ordered could have been easily made at home. We got the chicken plate and Cuban sandwich plate. Would recommend if you want to grab a quick nice bite, but not for anything more.
Went here for lunch with a friend. He ordered a beef bowl and he liked it a lot. It came out quickly and looked delicious. I ordered the coffee con leche and the Cuban sandwich. The coffee was very good and I would order that again. The Cuban on the other hand was lacking. There was not too much flavor and it mostly felt like a ham sandwich, with two tiny pieces of pork. If you come here definitely order a bowl and coffee.
I would go here well before I set foot in a Chipotle. They have similar food (not all items), but I think the quality and portions are better and healthier at Black Bean Deli. The pulled pork was good but the chicken breast I felt was a little on the dry side, but my sister liked the chicken. Parking is limited and small. Bathroom is just ok, but doesn't give me the clean bathroom vibe.

great coffee and food, but the service though… yikes. baristas hanging out and giving free drinks to their friends while giving the wrong orders to customers.
The staff were really nice. But the food was some mid. It honestly wasnt that great I dont know what these high reviews were talking about. I'm not Cuban but I'm pretty sure cuban sandwiches come with mustard. I could be wrong but the food wasnt that great. I think the food was priced fairly for what you get.
Tried them out because I was curious about the Cuban sandwich. It was ok not the authentic Cuban because it's not made with real pork but it was fresh. Flavor was good.
Decided to try something different from my regular rice, black beans, and meat, so I went for the frita burger. I have to say that I was disappointed. Too salty and in my opinion not worth the $9.75.…

Food is good.but some times they take to long to order just a coffee
From the first moment I arrived I had a problem with the parking. Be aware at that. But the real problem is inside: first and foremost food is okay but there are a lot of things that will ruin the experience and will show you're being stolen: 1. The price is just insane for a disguised cantine. 2 The place is called Black Bean Deli but in the plates black bean was placed carefuly, just a little bit. It happend for both the plates we ordered so it was not a mistake. That shows a lot of hypocrisy to be called Black Bean and to forget to properly put the black bean and instead to give rice. 3. You eat from plastic dishes with some miserable plastic forks and knifes which have nothing to do with the food itself. I have no idea why they do it because on the long run plastic is much more expensive then good simple dishes that need washing. Probably they are to lazy to do the dishes. Personaly I think this kind of waiste on plastic should be taxed seriously by authorities. 4. The place is a mix between a restaurant and a fast food and, even though the food is okay, the price is twice more expensive or even more then a regular cuban bodega with homecooked food. That is just not acceptable. 5. They sell only beers from cans, which is completely weird. 6. You actualy pay for enjoying "hipsterish" atmosphere of some lazy dudes. In the words of Mr. Jose Martì: "yo soy un hombre sincero" and my conclusion is that this place does not deserve the price they ask, it's just regular food and you'll pay 2 to 2,5 times more only for the "hipsterish" atmosphere. Huge rip-off. P.S.: they replied all experience it's the fault of my high expectation. I can say that when you ask for 50-60-70$ for a lunch it's inhuman to give plastic plates and forks and so on.. they are just from a different reality: the one where only they win. Terrible!
The fried yucca was good but the Cuban sandwich was rather disappointing. Barely any meat on there. A paper thin slice of pork. Like give me a break. You call that a Cuban?
I called in an order for two Cubans with black beans and rice. Instead, my order was wrong—I received soup instead of the black beans and rice. To make matters worse, the lids on the soup containers weren’t secured, and by the time I got back to the office, the soup had spilled all over the bag. The sandwiches box was soaked, the bag fell apart, and the entire $27 lunch was ruined. When I called back, the girl who took my order was not helpful. She told me I could come back and exchange the soup for black beans and rice—but what about the ruined sandwiches? That’s unacceptable. This was my first visit and it will also be my last. Poor service, careless preparation, and no accountability for mistakes.
There’s a great debate out there about whether or not a Cuban sandwich should be served with Mayo or mustard. However, Black Bean has decided the answer, in their case, is NEITHER! There were no condiments on their Cuban, which I’ve never experienced. I had to dress it myself and also add salt (it desperately needed salt). And, the black beans were the same. Salt needed (how’s that even possible?!?). If you’ve had out-of-the-can Goya black beans - those are better and more flavorful. Unbelievable. The yellow rice and plantains were unremarkable again. #neveragain. Sad. Leftovers were tossed in the trash.
Ordered cubans for dinner for my family. Worst cuban I ever had. the meat quality was sliced lunch meat. Zero love. Missing mustard, one slice of cheese and hardly pressed. This place used to be the standard in Orlando and it appears they have lowered there standards to a point of no return. Very disappointed.
I went in on a Thursday at about two in the afternoon. The restaurant wasn’t too busy. My order was the lunch special, a Cuban sandwich with beans and rice and a side of plantains. When the order came out, it didn’t look quite right. It looked as if it had barely been pressed, it looked more like a sub roll with some cold cuts. When I bit into it, it had the same texture of a hoagie and was just barely warm inside. As no one ever checked with me to see if everything was OK, I ate the first half but was just not satisfied so I pointed this out to the counter server and asked him if they could repress the other half. He told me they could give me another sandwich but just couldn’t repress the other half. Although I couldn’t eat a whole other sandwich, I took him up on the offer. I waited a few minutes and a young lady, tattooed with face piercings, came out and tossed the tray onto the counter, and it slid over to me. She had nothing to say. As she turned and walked away, I said, “thank you” as she continued to walk away without turning around, she gave me a cursory you’re welcome. I have eaten at the black bean deli many times. The food is always very good. However, this time it wasn’t prepared properly. They are serving Cuban sandwiches. They are supposed to be properly pressed. Whoever prepared this in the back was just going through the motions. Whoever served it did not care that it was not prepared properly. Whoever was running quality control was a complete failure. My main issue is with the tattooed/facial pierced GenZ young lady that brought the sandwich out. She really is a better candidate for working in the housekeeping industry or at The DMV or perhaps Social Security. She has no idea what customer service is all about and does a disservice to the black bean deli. Her whole demeanor left such a bad taste in my mouth. It will be a while before I return. The Lions share of the employees there are GenZ. She was so bad. She makes her associates look like they are 5 star servers. See attached photo of the properly pressed Cuban on the left, against what was originally served to me. This is akin to serving melted ice cream at an ice cream shop. To their credit, they fixed the problem, but that server should be fired.
