I had some cravings for Vietnamese food. Drove 30min north to get food from this place due to great reviews. I ordered my typical plate: white noodles. The pork was good which I was a little surprised because most of the ones I have tried were not good. This was made like the way my mother made it. We walked to the beach behind the shop and ate outside. On the way back I decided to get another same order to go for dinner that night. I didn’t try anything else. But what I had did not disappoint.
I ❤️LOVE❤️ Vietnamese food and wow, this place is AMAZING!! The only complaint I've ever had about the Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwich is that the baguette bread was always hard to eat. This place made my dreams come true and offers the steam bun sandwich! Exact same taste, but on an easy to eat bun! Amazing food, great prices! Eat here, you won't be disappointed! :)
I have been to maybe 150 Vietnamese/Thai places and this has GOT TO BE the top 3. Everything was fresh as hell and the rice noodles we freshly cooked and not stuck in a huge ball in the bottom of the bowl like every other place. Top 3 out of 150. Price was awesome as well. F**king go here. You won't regret it because you'll return the next time you're around.
Best hole in the wall in Newport Beach, hands down. Order the 420 green rice, pork belly sliders, and pho baguette dip. You can't go wrong! The owners are a super nice family too. Go support this hidden local gem! You won't be disappointed.
Great prices and pretty darn authentic for fusion food. We ordered for 4 people but there was just 3 of us and had enough leftovers for 2 people after. And the price we paid was..... About $30-something. For enough food for 5 people! Not bad at all!
Quite a little gem of a place. We will have to go back and sample more of the menu. Discovered the place accidentally while biking and searching for Hawaiian food next door. Shared the baguette and Nam Nam chicken wings. Both were excellent. There was a listing of top 5 favorites on the chalkboard and the wings didn't make it. So I guess there are at least 4 others to try.
ordered multiple items and each of them was excellent. Definitely recommend the green rice and fresh spring rolls. The chicken slider and the pork bahnmi were excellent as well
This food is amazing. The flavors are perfectly combined. I highly recommend the pork belly sticky bun sliders and the pho sandwich dipper. If you're more of a picky eater, you can't go wrong with the rice and chicken bowl. We are going back tomorrow because I can't get enough. The restaurant is an open concept space that has been perfectly decorated. Great for families, friends, dates, you name it.
Food was delicious, staff was friendly, unique menu options, Thai tea was perfectly balanced strong and sweet. Small space, so limited seating. Really enjoyed that the shrimp were split in half for ease of eating while still having an adequate amount of shrimp in total.
Actually soooo good. One of the best meals you can find on the peninsula under $20- every single bite was delicious. Favs gotta be the spring rolls and bao bun pork belly yummmm
Great fast food Vietnamese eatery! Highly recommend the Banh Mi pork belly sandwich and fried spring rolls with lettuce wrap. I know the restaurant is famous for its beef sandwich with Pho dipping soup...definitely need to try that next time!
Soo delicious!! My friends and I loved how fresh everything was. I got the summer spring roll with pork and it was so good. My friends got the banh mi and they were so full of flavor. They were unfortunately out of the bao sliders but plenty of yummy stuff. It wasn’t too crowded and we got our food fast. A great affordable spot if you’re not wanting burgers or pizza. 10/10 would come again. Parking is near impossible but that goes for anything in this area
Shared the baguette sandwich and a shrimp spring roll with my mom and it was phenomenal! The food has so much flavor and is very fresh and light. The passion fruit mango limeade is delicious as well 😍 highly recommend this place
The restaurant looks tiny. But The pho and bahn mi are both great! We have the combo pho and beef bahn mi. The bread is on the soft side but I like it. The bahn mi itself is tasty.
Some of the best food on the peninsula. Everything tastes fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the jackfruit bao sliders and the tofu banh mi for vegetarians. Their summer rolls are light, fresh, and crisp. Delicious!
Pork belly bap slider So good omg I was like.. I should gotten 2 🥲 1 wasn't enough. I also got the Pho Baggett dip, 1st dip was alright them I added hot sauce and the flavor got better like fuller..
Saigon beach restaurant has some of the best Vietnamese food that we have ever tried out here in Newport Beach California. We ordered the grilled pork Banh mi sandwich and the grilled pork spring rolls we also ordered the pork belly bun. The best thing we had was the chicken wings! Those were fire!! The flavors were on point! If you're ever in Newport California and are looking for a great Vietnamese spot to try then you got to try Saigon Beach Restaurant! You won't be disappointed.
I really loved this place! Vegan Bahn Mi (tofu), and vegan spicy lemongrass soup. All the food was super fresh and served fast. I highly recommend it, and look forward to my return.
Very tasty and the price is very reasonable. We ordered chicken spicy soup, Pho w tofu, and banh mi special. The spicy soup was very tasty for a chicken flavor. The banh mi has mustard in it, but it tasted quite good. We will come here again
Got the Combo Bánh Mì. Flipping great. Slam packed with veggies and the pate so the the mayo was killer. Glad I stopped in.

Best pork belly bahn mi! Great grilled pork bun, crispy and delicate egg rolls, and viet iced coffee too.
I ordered chicken vermicelli for take out. The food was literally ready in a box in 30 secs. I’m not sure if the chicken was reheated from the day before or morning. Otherwise the vegetables were fresh. I wish there was no fried onions added to the vermicelli and basil leaves instead of the coriander leaves. Overall the food is tasty with good portion. Eating areas are small. It’s better to get take out.
Overall: 3.6/5 (dine in) This is a small storefront that's street facing so it might be hard to find parking right in front. I was surprised when I got there because I thought it was a sit down restaurant but the set up is really for take out/delivery. They have bars & stools along the side of the walls but at max, the restaurant can only seat 8-10 people. Customer service is good here though. Pork Belly Bun Slider ($5.95): Better than the grilled pork slider but was just okay. Grilled Pork Bun Slider ($5.75): The grilled pork was very dry. For both sliders, they gave a lot of carrots which I liked but they were lacking all the Vietnamese flavors. The buns were soft though. 420 Downtowner Special ($10.25): We were both so disappointed when we tried this. The presentation was nice but the taste was mid. The green colored rice and the shredded chicken were bland. The pork on top was a bit less dry than the one in the bun and was the only thing with flavor. Nam Nam Wings (5 Wings For $7.95): The wings were the best item of the night. They were crispy and tasty.
Workers were kind and I got my order pretty quickly but the portion sizes were disappointing! The food was good though
It’s hard to find the parking so crowded always. Their food is good but kind of small portions for 2 people at least need to order 3 items. Price is reasonable. Need to upgrade the kitchen when they were cooking the whole restaurant was smoky.

Food was okay. Bahn mi was good, egg rolls had no flavor. Service is bad. Not friendly or attentive, just kind of stand around. Very hot in there as they leave the doors open to the street. Probably wouldn’t go again.
The food great ! Service is not ok .with warmer smiles I am sure people would be more likely to leave a tip
The Vietnamese coffee was not as strong as the original flavor. Had more of a sugary taste. I really wish it was good cus I buy this type of coffee almost everyday.

Received food from here through Uber Eats, and the vermicelli noodles are severely undercooked (almost crunchy). It is not just a matter of the food beingcold, which often happens with delivery, but the noodles literally are stiff :(
We came on New Years Day, around 1230pm. The lady working was not amused and could be couldn't care less for the customers waiting to order. With not even a slight acknowledgment when we walked in. I got their regular cold cut combo with their bacon pate. Overall, the flavor was great. Not traditional Banh Mi flavors, but more fusion. The sweater mayo, paired with the smokey bacon, was a great bite. The banh mi itself was cold. Like not toasted warm bun, but fridge cold. Immediately wanted to run in and brittle warm my sandwich. Overall. I think I'll pass on a $12.50- cold banh mi. with terrible service.
There was street parking close by but it cost money, this place does not have outdoor seating areas and the indoor seating is really limited ( less than 10 seats) There were two different groups of people sitting inside when we arrived, the staff didn’t even clean the table after those people left, you can tell from the pictures in below, the table was dusty and sticky. This place is a little pricey, the Grilled Pork Spring rolls were really good, I loved the sauce a lot but the Pork Belly Crazy Rich 'Bao' Steamed Bun Slider is really small and the meat was so dry, and the drink was really disappointing too, the size was small and there was more ice than there was drink, I couldn’t taste any lemon flavor in it… The most disappointing part was their service, we simply asked if they do military discount and the staff rolled her eyes and said no, it’s totally fine if you don’t do military discount but that attitude was not okay, they also missed our order of Grilled Pork Bnh M Baguette Sandwich, we had to remind them before we left.
The pho was terrible and the ingredients didn't seem fresh. I asked for a replacement, but they showed me that all the food in the refrigerator was not fresh. This is the worst Pho I've ever eaten.

WORST VIETNAMESE FOOD EVER. Terrible service. Please save yourself the money and go somewhere else. Me and my family went for a late lunch today - after looking at the reviews we thought it’d be good place to eat. We literally waited 10 mins for someone to even come out of the kitchen to get our order. She was unapologetic and rude. We ordered banh mi, vermicelli, and pho noodle soup. This was literally the worst pho I’ve ever eaten in my entire life and I’ve been to countless pho restaurants. The sodium concentration was probably at its max - it tasted like legit salt water, no exaggeration. None of us could even swallow a sip of the soup. We asked for hot water to dilute the soup. The server seemed very annoyed, again no apologies, no accommodation. Not to mention the banh mi and vermicelli were also gross and the place is FILTHY. We were extremely surprised at the good reviews of this place. Please save yourself your money and taste buds and go somewhere else.
Came here before 8 pm on a Sunday night. Before I begin my order the person stated I needed to order to go as they were closing. I went and double checked the sign outside as well as the website both said 9 pm. I came back in and said I wanted to eat inside because the sign said they didn’t close for another hour. She said they couldn’t and that they changed their hours and were closing earlier now. I asked to speak with a manager as that didn’t make sense and she then changed her tone and said I as well as the patrons that got there before me could now eat inside. Once I got my food it was the most water downed pho I’ve ever eaten, I could tell they did that on purpose probably because they were angry that their trick to close early didn’t work. Horrible customer service and worst pho I’ve ever had! Avoid this place at all cost!
Bad service and attitude. Went there on a Sunday night — the servers were sitting around chatting at a table instead of greeting guests who walked in. I had to approach them just to ask where to sit. After deciding what to order, I again had to walk up to the counter and wait for their conversation to finish before one of them finally came over to take my order. Really disappointing experience.
