This is my new favorite place to get Mexican food. They are very generous with the meat. I recommend to taco platter that comes to about $8.60 including tax well worth it! Every time I'm near there my car drives into their parking lot..
Bro, this place is a hidden gem! The line is long but worth the wait, the tacos that I had were top tier, specially price at 2.25 each. You just can't find that in the oc any more.
The burritos here are delicious. Whether you like carnitas, or carne asada they have lots of flavor. And the beans are bomb here. Only downside is it is small hole in the wall. But the food is great.
Delicious taqueria known primarily for their carnitas. Tuesday has a carnitas burrito special that includes rice and beans and is delicious. The tortas and tacos are also good. I don't think you could go wrong at this local gem. Definitely check it out.
Always great 👍 food excellent customer service and good prices , you'll get your money worth a lot food a big tacos!! Definitely recommend it 100% and is a family friendly 👌
This place was much better than expected. The prices are awesome and the service was way better than avarage. The food was excellent, very authentic, and absolutely delicious. I will definitely be coming here again. Parking wasn't that great, but the restaurant had many selections and was very clean.
Best chicharron tacos around. I have been eating here for years and its one of the best kept secret tacos around. Some people would not give them a chance because i was very hesitant to eat them myself chicharrones are not very appealing but they are amazing. If you love tacos like i do, dont miss this spot. 5 star taco for sure. The rest of the food is a bonus. They take debit cards now!!! Enjoy.
Omg I can't believe that they are open again. Best chicarron tacos on the planet. They've remodeled after the fire. The place now has air conditioning and a restroom so my wife is willing to go on a hot summer day. It's still a cash only business but the food is still as amazing as ever. I've coming here for the past 25 years
Love their refried beans!! My go to is the taco de costilla, it is a bit greasy but soo delicious.
Tacos Los Reyes was great Mexican food. My son and husband ate there and enjoyed it a lot. My son had the enchilada plate, and my husband had a carnitas burrito. They also each ordered a Horchata which I sipped from my husbands 😊. The staff are very friendly and checked on us regularly and brought out fresh chips and salsa when we’d finished eating our first batch. I always like the pickled garnish they add on the side too. It was medium busy when we arrived, but by the time we left it was bustling. The parking lot feels a bit small to maneuver in, but that wasn’t going to stop us! This is the type of place to go when you are craving some good Mexican food.
It used to be Carnitas Los Reyes. I don't know when or why they changed the name, but thankfully, they didn't change the Carnitas. I have never had anything besides the Carnitas. When you find the best, why waste your time on anything else? Inside is cafeteria-style seating with an open kitchen. It is always hot inside. The Salsa Verde they put on the Carnitas is perfect. It's just a little spicy but loaded with flavor. I got three tacos and a burrito. I have always had a bigger appetite than most. That worked out to be the perfect-sized meal for me.
I always order the same thing, a bean and cheese burrito also known as a burrito with no meat. They put onions, cilantro beans and cheese and it's absolutely delicious. All that for under $5. It comes with chips and salsa as well
Tried this place for the first time. The food and service was awesome, and I definitely coming back. Parking was not so good but worth the hassle
Real good food, especially the tacos de chicharon and the beans are to die for.
We've been going here for about ten years now and they've never let us down. Hot, fresh, great tasting. Still a win! ****************** Awesome little corner taco joint. Cheap, good food, always friendly.... What more could you ask for?
Great bang for your buck tacos! I have been coming here since I was 6 years old. If you are going to compare their tacos to other places, you have to compare their best taco which is hands down the chicharon taco. This taco used to sell out by 2 pm.
Has been a year since my last review on this place and it is still getting better. From the looks of it, Tacos Los Reyes still has that quality taste that cannot be tried anywhere else in the Orange County area, it has that distinctive aspect about it. On the plus side, since they're still doing in-person and phone orders it ensures the quality of the food will be amazing, honestly - when I called ahead of time - it definitely saves me the hassle of ordering in person, especially since it typically is crowded around lunch hour. With that being said, the prices here are adjusted as is to the current day so you can't really say much. However one thing I do love still is the fact that you can get some medium sized tacos for cheap prices (With the exception of Asada and Barbaoqua) and it comes with free chips. So my recommendations when eating here: - Get the Carnitas Taco (They are the kings of Carnitas, used to be called Carnitas Los Reyes) - Get the Al Pastor Taco (Essentially Carnitas but laced with BBQ, at least according to them) - Get the Chicharron taco Oh and one more thing to note: Try paying in cash instead of Credit/Debit card, since they charge a 4% fee to your card.
Hands down the best Mexican food in orange county. I had the beef burrito and will definitely come back for another one! Great service amazing food! Would definitely recommend!!
Wow what an amazing experience!!!! Out of this world food. This place is packed with people and they still take amazing care of each order and customer. They added salsa, chips, carrots, all without asking. They remembered that it was my order even with so many other people there.
I'm tempted to get everyone I know to write poor reviews for this place so that NOBODY ELSE CAN GO BUT ME. This is hands down the best value for what you get. Good service, quick, cheap, delicious. The barbacoa tacos are, for me, a twice a week AT LEAST purchase. You don't feel nasty or gross after eating a lot at this place. It's authentic and fresh and so so so tasty. Don't bother with those other taco joints on Tustin Ave, skip straight to Carnitas Los Reyes.
Best little hole in the wall, this place has been here for as long as I can remember. My family always gets burritos, everyone gets a different type, but we each get a chicharon taco. Also get burrito mojados. Place is always busy, for good reason.
I have frequented Los Reyes for over 20 years and I still love the food. The tacos are large and authentic. The refried beans are homemade and fried with lard (the only way to make traditional Mexican refried beans). What's more, the prices are still great - never overpriced. I find Los Reyes to be one of the best traditional Mexican taco spots in OC, and all of my Mexican family and friends in OC agree.
Have loved this place for 20 years. I personally have never had better carnitas than from right here. Wish I could eat here daily.
I've been going to this place for 5 years or more and I've always Loved the food. I went through it when it burned. I'm so happy they reopened and haven't lost a step. The older guy in there is such a sweet heart. I always tip him. The other staff works so hard. This is the perfect place for some good food.
Literally my favorite mexican restaurant as a kid and still is to this day. The foods is always full of flavor and the salsa is quite addicting. Would even drink it by itself sometimes, it's that good and I haven't seen any others able to compete it's flavor.
Great carnitas and beans. Their food has been consistently good for over 30 years. I don't live in the area any more but I always stop to eat when I'm close by.
The best food ever, been going for 30 years. Good prices too.
I just happened to Google this place when I was down in the City of Orange last Thursday. They exceeded my expectations! The El Pastor was delicious. They service was fast and friendly, and they went above and beyond!
Just moved to the area and was lucky enough to use the laundromat right next to here. Constantly busy from 10am so I tried it out after I finished my laundry. So glad I did. Now my favorite lunch spot.
It's authentic Mexican if you come in you will smell the difference. The burritos are very good... No rice pure meat and beans and cheese if you like I have to pass onions and cilantro. Bomb recommended. Could use a bigger place. Wish they could widen it but a lot of people come consistently
I had to search up this place because I thought of it and now craving it! I don't have pictures, but I will say I am currently 25y/o and I have been coming here with my family since I was a kid. The food is still the same as delicious as I remembered it years ago with the same very sweet waitress! I have tried so many different dishes here like their different meat tacos, chile verde, refried beans, quesadillas, burritos, etc. And I love everything! I am very picky when it comes to making sure eating authentic Mexican Food and this place doesn't disappoint. There is not a lot of seating so I would recommend to go during non busy hours or takeout; however, every time I eat here I wait for a seat and usually doesn't take long to find a spot before your food is ready. 10/10
Best Tacos. Hole in the wall but great value too. Two Tacos for $2.50 each gets you really delicious Tacos. My favorite are the carnitas but they have many meats to choose from. Comes with chips, salsa and pickled carrots with jalapeños. There is sometimes a line but it moves Fast.
Best mexican food in Orange, CA. Best prices too!
Carne asada was amazing. Definitely appreciate the consistency so far. Ate here 3 or 4 times now and starting to become quite the local fan.
Delicious food. I usually have the asada burrito. I have been coming to this place for 25 yrs. Call ahead to place your order so you don't have to wait too long because they're usually busy.
My Family and I have been going to LR for over 20 years and we have always love the authentic Mexican food. The employees are all great & friendly. The Burritos, tacos or sopes are great. Red and green sala are tasty. I recommend anyone to try LR who loves Mexican food. It's worth it.
Delicious, lovely place, great to go with friends
Absolutely delicious!!!!! Whatever you get here i promise you'll love it! This is my go to when I'm craving home made refried beans! My girls love the asada tacos and i love it all
Best Breakfast burrito Chorizo and egg Definitely recommend , I drive 20 minutes just to come here . Great food at a good price
Food is great and more than that but it's always packed with serving. So because it is a little place sometimes you won't find a place to sit and enjoy the awesome things they serve. Watch your diet please. Your most likely will be surrounded by toco loving folks. Every body is eating and yes enjoying the food. Go ahead and taste it for your self. I love going to places I've never been to and to experience some things that are nice that I never knew before so good bye
Been going to Tacos Los Reyes since it was Carnitas Los Reyes after reading about it in the OC Register around 20 years ago. Nothing fancy, but everything is good and not made till you order. Plus it is super-affordable, even though not the screaming deal it used to be. Best Tacos Al Pastor in OC.
Small place, great flavor! Just as good as I remember. Complementary fresh chips and salsa. Just spicy enough to enjoy alone with the chips while waiting for the meal. Regular size tortillas!
Always packed, which is a great thing. I have been going to snatch up carnitas burrito and 4 tacos for damn near 25 years. The Salsa is on point with a kick to it. They have a ton of items I go strictly for the carnitas. I would definitely recommend this little bomb spot. If you're in the area this is a delicious place to grub. Love it . Thanks Los Reyes for all the great Food, and keep it .
Absolutely best Mexican food. The most flavorful authentic Mexican food I’ve had in a long time unless I cooked it. Thank you for your friendly, speedy service and most of all the delicious Mouth watering food.
They have the best tacos de lengua I've ever had. Great prices and portions, and fast service too. I definitely recommend this hole in the wall taco shop.
I'm Catholic, and today, Friday, I ordered an egg, rice, and beans burrito with green sauce, cabbage and tomatoes It was delicious, I mean really really good.
This is a hidden treasure for sure. You are greeted by everyone upon entering with a smile. I got a carnitas burrito as it seemed like the stable here. I can tell you that the burrito is straight up meat and nothing but. The tortilla was cooked to perfection and wasn't soft as others or overly crunchy it seems fresh and hand mad. I got a taco de buche (beef head) delicious and nothing but tender definitely coming back. You are also served chips and salsa as you wait for your food
Food is excellent. Service is really good as well. The only thing is it is just a very small place. I've been coming here since I was six and it still tastes like home.
Wow, great tacos! That was my first thought when I bit into my Carnitas taco. I wanted something from a local family run Place and this fit the bill. The Carnitas taco were tinged with lime which made it amazing. Although the tacos are small they are stuffed with meat, very filling. I also got the Al pastor and the barbacoa. I tasted the other two but only ate one. The barbacoa was OK but it wasn’t my favorite, but very juicy. ($2.75/taco cash) I loved that they gave me a bag of chips in my to go order. The salsa is a fresh chunky salsa and quite spicy. I don’t like the pureed type salsa because I don’t think it usually has a good flavor. I was happy with the fresh chunky style they serve. This is definitely a hole in the wall. It was very busy at lunchtime. Coming up to the building it looks quite grubby but I pushed past that knowing that I had great ratings. I’m glad I did. It’s definitely not an updated, well kept restaurant but the food was great. I met a family who said they’ve been coming for years and love the food. If you want mom and pop Place it seems to be very popular with good prices, check this place out.
Best Mexican food. Friendliest service. Words can't describe the happy feeling I get eating here. You must try everything!! Stand outs for me were the Carnitas, Cabeza, bucce, and the BEANS!! Make sure you get the beans and rice!! Their chips and salsa are the best appetizer, and snack on the way home! And their Menudo is a must!! Get there early on a weekend to avoid disappointment.
DELICIOUS tacos and good vibe. I feel like no matter how bad your is going, the taste of these tacos will turn it around. At least, if you're a foodie like me lol. I love having lunch here with friends and takeout is always perfectly packed. Never had a salsa spill. Bring cash to avoid the card fee (as of writing), but that's typical for all small businesses! Even nail salons etc. Great selection of beverages too. Any Jarritos you want lol.
Hello Been coming here for many years. I have cut back, and I am eating much healthier. Lost over 100lbs. But.... When i have a cheat day. I am here... My go to plate. Carne asada with beans & rice. Seriously. Its like my Grandmas food. Its what I like. Hope you give them a try. Just leave some for myself You might bring your own plate, because seating will be full. Eat in your car, when its fresh.. Mario Moreno Sanchez ✌️
I strictly eat here after lunch when I'm done with my pools. It's right behind my house & to top it off it's the best damn burrito in all of California. So technically that makes it the best in the nation. The best. Frijoles carne queso and salsa.... Simplicity
One of the best kept secrets in OC if you buy their meat and beans and cheese in bulk you can pretty much do a family meal for less than $20 it's incredible
If you're looking for some good tacos and burritos in town, look no further! This taco shop is an absolute gem—their burrito was nothing short of incredible. Every bite was packed with bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and the perfect balance of textures. You can really taste the love and quality in their food. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and I can say without a doubt—I’ll be back for more! Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic, delicious tacos and burritos!
Our first visit and it was very good. It appeared very authentic with the murals on the walls and the taste of the foods. It all appeared freshly made. The parking and seating are very tight and friendly. The pickled carrots were very good, as well as the chips and salsa. We had both polla and carne assada, Tacos, and Enchiladas. Both were great. Everyone was friendly, including the staff. I would good back again, try it.
I have been coming here for over 10 years. The food has always been delicious, and the burritos are a great size. I always get the carnitas burrito, which is always tender and delicious. Their salsa and chips always taste homemade and fresh. This place is usually packed, and the seating is limited. There's also no outdoor seating. The parking is usually atrocious as this business shares its parking lot with a bunch of other businesses. They now accept credit cards, albeit with a fee. You definitely need to try this food for yourself. Their tacos are also delicious.
This is the most authentic Mexican food I've had in ages. I'm so happy to have found it! Order at the counter and they bring it to your table. At 5:45pm on Wed night it was standing room only for about 30 minutes. Definitely a rush period. The food was delicious. I loved my Buche Taco the most.
Great food always enjoy eating here would love if they had a spicy sauce for the tacos other than that it's a great place to get Mexican food

Can you say BOOKED and BUSY!!!! That is the epitome of tacos LOS REYES!!!!There were so many party trays of asada, carnitas, beans, rice and let's not forget the pints of red and green salsa- with …
Food is excellent, very authentic, great prices. Highly recommend especially the carnitas and pork verde.
The food is awesome! I've been eating here for over 30 years! Love the place! They are fast if waiting for takeout!
the chili verde burrito is the best! I am hooked! The place is obviously very popular and sometimes there's a wait but it's worth it IMHO. They do heat up some of their food with a microwave, but m…
Went back here and it didn't disappoint! The food is incredible for a hole-in-the -wall and there will be a wait, but so worth it. Take it to go, eat in the car with some ice cold beers!
Great prices for great food. The staff can be short from time to time. The only reason it's not 5 star review for me is the occasional less than perfect reception by staff, and that in the evenings they occasionally run out of their most popular item, the carnitas. If that should happen try the al pastor, it's great, too. Oh! CASH ONLY. They are unable and/or unwilling to accept plastic or digital payments.
Good tacos. Line is long and wait is like 10 minutes, but overall it is good. I have tried better tacos, which is why I can only do 4 stars. They are not bad, but not the best.
The value of this place is great. Huge burritos for around 5 dollars, and tacos are under 2 dollars. It's very authentic and although it's fast casual, they bring chips and a drink to your table as if it's a full sit down restaurant. My only complaint is that it's definitely on the greasy side, so you have to be ready for that if you're going there.
This place has been around for quite a while. I've been coming here for about 15 years. Not sure if it's still the same original owners but the taste of their food has remained consistent. I believe part of the building burned down a few years ago and they stayed closed for a good 2 years. I thought they were closed for good but to my surprise, they re-opened not too long ago. Let's start with the positive: I have to say this place is probably one of the best local "hole in the wall" mexican food places when it comes to their carne asada tacos and burritos. You won't regret trying them out. I personally haven't tried their full menu, but they do have an extensive selection of options to choose from (tacos, burritos, tortas, menudo, sopes, tostadas). Price/portion are reasonable. As of today (2/12/23) 1 carne asada burrito is about $8 (plus tax) and it's plenty of food for 1 person. The tortilla chips always taste fresh and their red salsa is soo good (spicy)! Haha The negative: The restaurant is small. You have to walk through a narrow little hallway in order to place your order and there is often people already there, just standing in the hallway, waiting for their order, so you end up rubbing shoulders with people. Seating is very limited and the tables/benches are the exact same ones that i remember from 15 years ago. They look old, dirty and worn down. Same thing with the wall paint and interior decor. This place definitely needs a new restaurant layout and new tables. I don't recommend coming to this place if you're looking for "sit-down" service with a large family due to the limited seating and sketchy people that occasionally walk into the restaurant. I recommend ordering your food to go. I believe they also take phone orders if you want to order ahead and not have to wait inside till your order is ready.
This place is awesome. If you want a taste of an authentic Mexican food especially tacos, this place is where to go. Their beans alone stand above a lot of Mex restaurant I've eaten. For 15 years I know them the taste of their food hasn't changed. It's still the taste I craved for.
Good food and service. The carnitas is very good. I had the burrito. It was standard (carnitas, onion/cilantro, beans, some cheese) but each ingredient was fresh and delicious. It's nice being able to see all the cooks prepping the food. Lots of delicious homemade, hole in the wall goodness. Look forward to coming back again.
Small little whole in the wall! But the food is delicious! The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is that they sell menudo but it runs out super early! They really should make more! Very recommendable!
I drive about 25 mi once or twice a month to get their chile verde burrito. The chile Verde and carne asada burritos are a little greasy, but delicious. My stomach pays for it later though. Carnitas tacos are so good, probably better than the chile verde.
It's pretty good. My husband LOVES the beans here.
Tacos. 5 star Burritos. 5 star Salsa for chips 5 star They need to improve the salsas for the tacos because they are mediocre and the chips are served cold and oily they need a chips heater! Otherwise this place would be a 5 star.
This restaurant is whole on the wall but the food has always been great for me. They been there 40+ years. Same owner. Prices have gone up since they opened but still are reasonable for the size of their tacos. Great carnival, refried beans. Only bad part is they only have 8 or 9 tables and it does get busy. Lots of take out.
TLR has great food with lots of options. staff was efficient and friendly. Carnitas are a must
Food is delicious been going there for over 20 years best Chícharo. Tacos in town and even great from places in Santa Ana. Prices are reasonable. Great atmosphere! You should try Carnitas, Chicharo…
This hole in the wall, bad parking is so worth it .. The only think I get here is the carnitas tacos soft... for $2.75 each they are worth it.. I stay away from everything else but if your looking …
Its alright. Basic. Simple. Authentic. Good flavor. A local favorite.. parking sucks, it's cramped inside and the line is fcked up ..as in the line forms indescribably backwards. What creeps me out is watching a tongue or brains get chopped up on the cutting board and then my carne asada being chopped right after without cleaning the board. I'm sure it adds flavor and most wouldn't care... but I do. That's gross. If there's a reason I don't return that would be it.
The food here is very good, so I was extremely disappointed when I came in and saw every single employee with their mask under their nose. All the customers were wearing theirs correctly and it’s only fair to ask the same of the staff. My family won’t be eating here until at least after the pandemic
The asada tacos were ok, not the best. They lacked flavor. They'll do in a pinch. I'll go back and try them again and see if it tastes better.
Carne asada burrito 🌯 was not even edible. I tried it, and could not swallow it. The tortilla was raw uncooked saturated with grease. I had to throw out burrito, but i ate the chips & salsa. El Grosso. I love burritos. Que pasa????
The old Los Reyes, food is more affordable and tasty. Their salsa also good and free of charge. Now if you order a to go they might give you the salsa about 4 spoons full and if you want extra they will charged you 50 cents for the same amount of salsa. Their carne asada burrito went up from 4 dollars to 7.50 dollars.
The meats were good, especially the "barbacoa". The low rating is due to the greasiness. I would recommend buying just the meat, sold by the pound, and prepare your tacos, burritos or quesadillas at home and avoid the greasy tortillas. Lastly, the cashier, a lady, was in bad mood and made the experience not so pleasant.
The burrito was filling but I wasn’t too impressed with the taste. Overall alright.
The chicken taco was trash, had no flavor or taste. The Carne asada burrito was bomb. This place is okay, I wouldn't really recommend it.
LONG LINES EVERYTIME. Decent tacos tho. There’s other places nearby with better ordering system
The carne asada tacos were tough and chewy the other two meats I tried were bland and dry. The red chip salsa was decent and the chips were fresh could tell from all the oil. Unfortunately the service was subpar because a group of individuals were severed before us even though they came in after us.
food is okay but they don't give enough salsa in the tacos when you say con todo , probably won't go back again.

mid at best. really hoping the reviews would translate to great food but the food lacked flavor. We ordered Chile Verde, Carne Asada and Pollo burritos. Unfortunately, all three lacked flavor/seasoning. The burritos also had yellow cheese?!??! I've never had a burrito with yellow cheese in it. Sadly, we won't be returning to this place. Staff was friendly but it's not enough to make up for the mediocre food.
Wow! That was the worst burrito I've ever had. The asada was absolutely terrible, pure chewy fat, hardly any meat. Zero flavor. All I can say is wow. I love you Los Reyes, we've had our ups and downs over the years. So I know I'll give you another chance eventually. But it's gonna be hard to forget this one.
Ghetto ass place and over priced , not only do they have flies but they also expect you to eat 5 tacos with no sauce and the customer service is not it plus when I got my food the tortillas was cold …

Here’s the problem with this place. The people making the food do not wear any gloves! They touch everything with their hands even when they are wearing gloves they don’t know what cross contamination is. Also there isn’t no explanation in the salsa a few time we have gotten rotten salsa. The air conditioning in there gives out many times so what do u think happens to the food? In my opinion this place is gross!!
Came in this morning to get a lengua burrito and they gave me barbacoa instead, that was inexcusable, been coming here 20+yrs, very disappointed, luckily the area has many other taquerias to go to instead
Today 6/21/2025 The Al Pastor burritos were bland absolutely no flavor and the chips were bitter, I’m guessing they were using old oil in the fryer. They are very greedy with the salsa 2 small portions of salsa for 3 burritos and 6 tacos. I’m very disappointed.
