Tijdens ons jaarlijkse verblijf in Lagos hebben we dit nieuwe restaurant 2x bezocht. Zeer vriendelijke bediening en een plek die echt afwijkt van andere eetgelegenheden. De tapas waren overheerlijk en ik heb ook genoten van een verfrissende cocktail. Al met al een plek om te bezoeken als je van lekker eten houdt en eens af wil wijken van de geijkte gerechten. Dikke 5 sterren! ( p.s. vergeet de ham niet te bestellen 😋
Fantastische ervaring. Bijzondere gerechten met bijpassende wijnen. Kleinschalig en heel onderscheidend. Het concept is gebaseerd op schared dining. We hadden een gerechtje met bijzondere blauwe kaas. Het andere gerechtje was gebaseerd op garnalen met een Thaise twist. Heel bjjzonder

The restaurant takes creative approaches to Portuguese food with fusion from other cuisines, making the experience unique and fun. Highlights were the beef tartare with honey mustard, and the octopus with roasted bell pepper, chimichurri, pomegranate, and toasted almonds. The restaurant takes great care to ensure guests feel welcomed and comfortable. Bottom line - if you want great food in relaxed, friendly environment, come here! Thanks Irreverente.
One of the best dinners out of 2 weeks in Portugal. Chic yet relaxed and vibrant food and atmosphere. My wife and I found availability here after a last minute change of plans. We were a little unsure initially with the location and low number of reviews, but they immediately made us feel welcome. The hosts were friendly and funny and I would trust their recommendations for any food or drinks. Each dish comes out one at a time and their passion describing them is contagious. We both tried ingredients outside of our comfort zone and each one was a home run or step up from what we’ve tried before. This is was definitely worth the walk, beat out meals that we waited longer or paid more for, and may be somewhat of an overlooked gem because it’s <1 year old and slightly off the beaten path.
This restaurant stands out as unique among dining options available near Old Town in Lagos, perfect for those looking for a special meal or dining experience while in the Algarve. Each dish was carefully curated, it is clear that the owners prioritize quality of their ingredients and creative twists on each plate. The server was keen to recommend new dishes and he did not lead us astray, each course more impressive than the next. I particular we enjoyed their take on beef tartare and miso aubergine. The wine selection was immense, with options to satisfy every palate. Chatting with the owners after our meal, it was clear that guest experience was a priority as well, with both having worked for years in the hospitality industry in various countries. This is the first place I would recommend to those visiting Lagos, especially if you are looking for something special and different from the cafes and seafood restaurants you’ll find in the center of Old Town.
Lugar pequeño pero acogedor, con música agradable que invita a conversar y disfrutar del momento. La comida excelente, con platos diferentes y que sorprenden no solo en el emplatadosino también en los sabores. El servicio es estupendo, con un trato de 10. Muy recomendable para los amantes del vino y los sabores distintos.

If I had one place to eat my entire trip to Lagos it would be here. A gem that quickly became home — food that exceeds every expectation, and people who welcome you like family. Amazing music and decor too. Pure joy, every time. A nice escape from the busy streets of Lagos. You would absolutely be missing out if you missed this. Truly made my whole trip. 11/10. And they serve food & drinks late!!
The food at Irreverente Wine & Food was unlike anything we’ve had in Portugal thus far. Chef Carmen reimagined the way flavours work together combining various parts of Asian cuisine with the freshness of Portuguese ingredients. We had the Pani Puri to start which was a burst of flavour, the osso bocco croquettes with a delicious sauce, the shrimp dumplings had the most divine and spicy green Thai curry - our favourite dish that we ended up ordering again, and the octopus in the roasted red pepper sauce was also so tender. We were so incredibly happy to have stopped here as we also had just the best time getting to know and talk all things with the Bartender Mauro and Host Nelson. If they were open the next night, we absolutely would have been back. The vibe, decor, hospitality, food and drinks are 12/10. Do yourself a favour and add this place to your plans - you won’t be disappointed.
De loin la meilleure adresse que nous ayons testée à Lagos. Niché sur une petite place paisible, le restaurant dégage une atmosphère unique et pleine de charme. Chaque plat que nous avons dégusté était un régal, avec un vrai coup de cœur pour les gyozas de crevettes. Le vin recommandé par le personnel s’accordait parfaitement avec le repas. Creative and curated with love and passion by chef and serving staff. Innovative cocktails set the tone then range of tapas style dishes served one at a time for sharing. This really works as the presentation, taste and texture of each is so different it deserves your full attention. Well chosen and fairly priced wine list -with wines capable of working with the range of flavours on the table. Not many covers so book ahead and plan your allow time to really enjoy the experience

Incroyable!! Le restaurant se situe dans une petite place au calme. Nous avons été super bien accueillis. Le serveur était au petits soins avec nous. Les plats étaient succulents. Ma préférence était pour les crevettes panées à la patate douce avec sa sauce, un vrai délice. Mais tout le reste était très bon. 10/10 à tous les plats Bravo

Ein wahres „Food Experience“ 👌 Wir waren hier Abends zu zweit zum Tapas essen. Die Gerichte waren einzigartig! Wir waren bei jedem Gang erstaunt was der Koch/die Köchin hier gezaubert hat. Noch selten haben wir so gute Tapas gegessen. Absolute !!!! Weiterempfehlung. Auch der Service war überaus bezaubernd und das Ambiente sehr angenehm mit smoother Hintergrundmusik. Reservierung wird empfohlen. Es hat nur 3-4 Tische drinnen.
Je kan hier echt heerlijk eten! Zeker ook de vegetarisch gerechten. Complimenten. Niet heel goedkoop maar de prijs zeker waard! En het is sfeervol. Alles zat vol dus reserveren loont.

What a little gem! We had an amazing experience with our group at Irreverente, we'll certainly be back. The food was a true gastronomic experience, really good, interesting flavours and fun to share. Very diverse menu. Service and wine selection was excellent, and highly recommend the chocolate and orange mousse. My only regret is not having tried this spot sooner!
My husband and I shared a beautiful meal here. The menu felt very unique and well thought out, a little traditional but with a twist, in a lush intimate setting. Particularly loved the polvo with chimichurri, deffo recommend.

By far the best dining experience we’ve had in Lagos so far. Every dish was 10/10 for both taste & presentation, we were truly blown away and kept declaring every dish as ‘our favourite’. The atmosphere was very cosy & relaxed, with very attentive hosts. We especially loved that we could bring our cockapoo along with us as it’s quite hard to find such a nice restaurant that allows dogs inside. We found the pricing for such high quality dishes very good value for money & will 100% be returning!

Fine dining hidden gem, we were quite frankly blown away by the food, service and atmosphere when we spent NYE 2025 there. The food was high-end, amazingly well balanced flavours, textures and impressive presentation 👌🏼 hats off to the lovely team behind this awesome concept. Highly recommend visiting, you will not be disappointed, I recommend the beef tartare pani puri, gyoza, croquettes, pork terriakyi tacos, well actually everything we tasted was superb! You cannot go wrong. What a find!

The food was incredible. Creative without being weird, beautifully done but still comforting. You can tell a lot of thought goes into every dish and nothing feels random. It’s that perfect balance of Portuguese flavors with a modern twist. Every plate that came out made us excited for the next one. The wine selection is also fantastic. Really well chosen, and the staff actually knows what they’re talking about. The recommendations were spot on and made the whole meal even better. Service was warm and attentive without hovering. Everyone seemed genuinely proud of the restaurant and wanted you to have a great experience, which really shows. This is the kind of place you keep thinking about after you leave. Pequeno restaurante, bem decorado com algumas obras que apetecia levar para casa, música um pouco mais alto do que usual para a atmosfera, bem agradável devo dizer. A comida é incrível, comemos as guyosas, os camarões e em principal o robalo e o polvo, tudo incrível. As sobremesas também surpreenderam, trate de maçã com gelado de queijo de cabra e mousse com amêndoas e sabor a laranja. Wow 🤩. Parabéns!! Recomendo vivamente

We came here expecting a five-star experience but left disappointed. The food was very good and unique, and the waiters were friendly. However, the service was extremely slow, they brought out small portions every twenty minutes, so it wasn’t like we were waiting for a big, satisfying plate, but rather for small bites spread out over time. It was not a pleasant dining rhythm. When we spoke to the waiter at the end, he explained that this is their standard procedure and that on The Fork it’s listed as a total dining time of 2 hours and 30 minutes. While that may be fine for some, it didn’t feel worthy of five stars.
