If you’re looking for a classic spot with amazing views, Ruby’s Diner in Laguna Beach is such a gem! We sat up on the top deck and the view was unreal — you can see the ocean stretching out forever. The food definitely hits the spot too! I have to shout out their mustard — seriously the best I’ve ever had (it sounds funny but once you try it, you’ll know what I mean 😂). And their milkshakes are on another level — super creamy and rich. This place makes for such a cute date spot, especially if you time it for golden hour. I always get the blue cheese burger - the best. Good vibes, great comfort food, and that gorgeous Laguna sunset? Perfect little beach day combo. 💛

Great 50’s vibe! This place is on Pacific Coast Highway! Antique cars in front of the restaurant. Jesus was our waiter. So attentive and friendly with a splash of politeness. Several locals were here as well. We ordered the Cobb salad X2. Wow super fresh ingredients! Outstanding. Great prices! Fantastic! Loved it! Highly recommend it!

Stopped by for lunch. The classic cars by the entrance let us know we were in for a treat. I ordered the Shrimp and Chips, and my friend had a burger with fries. The hot coffee and the iced tea I had were both fleshly brewed, and the shrimp were fresh and cooked perfectly, hot and crispy without too much breading. I enjoyed a Rootbeer float for dessert, and my friend had a huge slice of apple pie with ice cream. Both were very good. The waiter was friendly, courteous, helpful, and attentive. He made us feel right at home. This is a Rubies very much worth visiting. We enjoyed a great experience dining here.

I've been looking for a place like this since moving to the US last year! I’ve always been excited about the typical 50s-style American diner you see in movies, with red leather benches, black-and-white tiled floors, and classic burgers and milkshakes. I absolutely love this place! The atmosphere feels straight out of a 50s movie, complete with vintage cars in front, waiters in traditional uniforms, and even chewing gum machines. The food is fantastic too. I really enjoyed the vanilla milkshake and highly recommend their vegan burger – it’s amazing. A lot of vegetarian and vegan options. I can't say if it’s 100% authentic, but you’ll definitely feel like you're dining in a classic movie. It was also lovely to see many older patrons, likely drawn in by nostalgia.

I am almost certain this is the best Ruby’s Diner that I have eaten at. The service was fast and kind, the view was beautiful on the patio and the meal was fantastic! I had not a single complaint. The bun was soft, the meat cooked well with a lot of flavour, not too greasy, mushrooms were cooked with love and the fries had a great balance of soft and crisp. The milkshake wasn’t too thick. Everything was amazing! Will be coming back anytime I get the chance. ❤️

It was a very fun place to dine with family. They are extremely popular so you may have a hard time finding parking but once you get inside everything is as fast as they can go! The staff was super kind and the food portions were huge! The shakes were made old style and they give you the extra portion that didn't fit in the silver cup so you definitely get a portion of two!

This place just gives off the perfect old town movie dinner vibes. Super clean and beautifully decorated! The atmosphere is there. However, the food is okay. It's like a watered-down version of In and Out. Lacks in flavor, but it makes sense since dinners were mostly for certain crowds to begin with. Even so, for what it lacks in flavor, it does make up for with the staff. They are absolutely incredible, super professional, and reliable! It's just amazing! Plenty of choice and large portions. Lovely upstairs shaded area with great sea view. Relative to other places good value for money. Great service.

Came here really for the California beach vibe. The food quality can be much better but no one would really come to Ruby's for taste ( vs the likes of In N Out, Shake Shack, etc). It still serves as a place that bring backs good memory and a reflections of a California classic. Price for kids meal should be re considered, a mac and cheese set was made up of boxed Kraft m & c with under cooked fries. Service of the host and staff was A+

Dry burger + fried and medium cherry coke like $23. Been here first and last time … for a diner their signature burger on sourdough with avocado was absolute garbage, fries frozen from a bag and shitty fountain drink. Seriously expected a little better. But it really sucks. Can’t believe this place is open. Hate leaving bad reviews … hate getting dry burgers more. They offered to remake it, but what’s the point? If they knew what to do they would’ve done it. Don’t need shitty undercooked burger. Anyway - go just about anywhere. Shake shack on PCH far better choice …. And I think cheaper … wow this place sucked … shockingly bad.
