Tambu Lounge is a popular spot in the Polynesian Resort, known for strong drinks, friendly bartenders like Aaron and Chris, and the ability to order 'Ohana menu items without a reservation. The atmosphere is relaxing, with potential views of fireworks.
Tip: Visit Tambu Lounge to enjoy 'Ohana food without a reservation, especially the noodles and bread pudding. Arrive early as seating is limited and first-come, first-served.
I love Tambu Lounge. It’s a great spot if you cannot find an Ohana reservation or if you just need a quick Ohana fix without paying for the full meal experience. Always order the noodles, pot stickers, and bread pudding. Large serving sizes. Great cocktails. Small seating area. Always seems to be competitive to get a table. Can sit at the bar too. Make sure you have time if you plan on visiting.
Exploring the Magic Kingdom resort and stopped by by a quick dinner before heading over to fireworks. Got the potstickers, passionfruit lemonade, and Ohana noodles, came quick, warm, and super yummy!!!
Chris was fantastic. He took care of us and was super kind. He made my wife and I felt like we are home! He’s a very good bartender I haven’t seen a good one in a very long time he has natural skill. Would highly recommend him to serve you.
Chicken wings are gluten free and they can make bread pudding gluten free! Chicken was delicious. The allergy chef came out to speak with me ahead of ordering my food. Lapu Lapu was delicious!
Always a great time at the Tambu Lounge. We always get the O'Hana noodles and dumplings. To drink we tried backscratcher, The Polynesian Mai Tai, the Pina Colava and the Lapu Lapu. Our service was great and the view was unbeatable.
Tambu Lounge is the bar adjacent to ‘Ohana at the Polynesian Resort. Good drinks and apps, as well as a nice view of Bay Lake and the Magic Kingdom. If you time it right you’ll get a nice view of the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. The chicken wings and Kaikane’s pork ribs were good. You can get the famous ‘Ohana noodles and bread pudding. The Backscratcher cocktail comes with a full-size bamboo backscratcher. Drink and souvenir! Sometimes it’s hard to get a table but it’s a nice place to take a break and enjoy a drink and app. Highly recommended.
We eat here when we can’t get a dinning reservation at Ohana or don’t want to be as full as we would at Ohana. They serve a lot of the same foods right from the Ohana kitchen plus have sushi. The drinks are bussin’ too. The bar tenders are friendly and attentive.
Located inside of Disney's Polynesian Resort, on the second floor, outside of Ohana. This first come, first serve walk up bar has limited seating. If you're looking for some of the same goods you can get at Ohana, this is the spot. The famous bread pudding is a hidden part of the menu. There are other small bites as well you can get, as well speciality drinks. You can also get Teremana tequila here.
Tambu lounge is located on the second floor of the Polynesian resort. It provides a great atmosphere, good food, and delicious cocktails. The bar area is first come first serve which is very convenient when waiting on your room or other restaurant reservations.
Love this place! The Tambu Lounge inside the Polynesian Hotel is a great hidden dinner spot. They serve food from the adjacent ’Ohana restaurant, which means you can get the best of that famously delicious food without playing the all you can eat prices next door. The drinks are very tasty too and the service is amazing!!! Shout out to Morgan and all of the staff there on their excellent service and mixology.
This is located inside the Polynesian Resort- second floor, at Walt Disney World. This is a small lounge with limited seating (approx 20-25 people). The main and only reason we go is for the Ohana menu items you can get here. We love the ‘Ohana’ noodles and bread pudding. No reservations accepted and no take out either. Service isn’t the best, as they typically have only one- two people manning the tables, etc. We order, eat and go. If you love Ohana’s but either can’t get reservations or tired of paying the outrageous price- this is second best to get some of those favorite Ohana menu items. (Ohana pot stickers and wings also offered here)
If you want all the tasty delicacies of O'Hana's without the hassle of trying to secure a reservation for it, give Tambu Lounge a whirl - it's more budget friendly and considerably less time-consuming than an actual sit-down meal, besides being surrounded by relaxing casual ambiance. [Not recommended for extended families, especially with younger children]. Don't forget to order the potstickers and noods!
Tambu Lounge is our first stop whenever we visit the Polynesian Resort. The staff are always friendly and attentive. The drinks are always delicious and put you right into vacation mode. You can order some of the amazing food that Ohana offers right at the Tambu Lounge & skip the reservation.
Great option if you are not able to get into O'hana. The bartender was friendly and drinks/food were great.
Man we had a great time hear!! We waited for our walk-up to Kona and hung out with our awesome bartender Aaron (pictured) and tried all the “local” brews! We highly recommend this awesome spot in the Polynesian !!

We enjoyed this little lounge at Disney’s Polynesian Resort! It’s open earlier than most other lounges at Disney and they make the drinks STRONG. The PiñacoLAVA is fantastic! The Pineapple Mule and Bahamamama were great as well!

Stopped by on Friday night with a group of 8, pleasantly surprised to get a table right by the window. Adam greated us and provided awesome service. He made perfect recommendations on food items to share for the table. Cocktails were delicious and the view of the Mickeys Not So Scary fireworks was great!

Love the vibes here. They share a kitchen with Ohana so their food is pretty good. I like the noodles, but ask for soy sauce, and their potstickers are pretty good. Service is pretty good because its a small area but that also means it a big noisy and you have to wait awhile if its peak hour of you have a larger party. Like 2 or more larger party.
A nice little 2nd floor bar at the Polynesian (next door to Ohana), with amazing service and great views of the Lava Pool and even MK across Seven Seas Lagoon, but for me, this is just Purgatory before getting your notification that your spot at Trader Sam's is ready!

We have been to this bar several times and usually always love it, but this time was a little different when it came to the start of our night. We had just dined here 3 nights prior and sat at the bar, so we figured we’d try sitting at a table to change things up. We had a party of 3 and it was a fairly slow night, so there was a table for 2 at the corner of the lounge open as soon as we arrived. We asked the bartender if we could add a seat to the table and he said yes if we could find an extra empty seat available. Well we did, and as we are sitting down this waitress hurries over and states that we cannot sit there with 3 people. No greeting, apologies, explanation, or anything. Completely rude and forces us to move (we were not blocking anything or in the way by adding an extra seat to this table). So we decide to move to the bar to the only seats available and I take the seat next to the service station, which was generously roped off. I was no where near the rope or crossing over into the service station. This same waitress comes up to the service station bar immediately after making us move and asks me to move again because my bar seat is now too close to the service station. Mind you.. I sat exactly where the seat was which was no where near the rope. I move literally an inch and she says “that’s good.” It seemed 100% purposeful because we were not pleased that she rudely made us move in the first place. On top of it, to get my attention when she wanted me to move, she just says “hun!” next to my head rather than “excuse me” like any other adult with basic manners would. I am 32 years old and no other middle aged person should be calling me hun. It’s extremely condescending and rude. We seriously almost left because in all my years of coming to the Polynesian I have never been treated so poorly. She was a middle aged waitress and I’m pretty positive her name was Deanna or something that started with “D”. This is a server that should be at any old Orlando chain restaurant… not Disney. Disney employees have top notch service skills and go above and beyond to make the guests comfortable. This chick couldn’t care less. And I understand that sometimes the servers don’t make the rules.. but it was 100% her attitude that made the whole situation a complete turnoff. I have been in the food service industry for years and I would never even think of talking to a guest like that. I would give her zero stars if I could just based off of her awful attitude. BUT thankfully after we sat at the bar, our experience was completely turned around by the best bartender, Anthony. From start to finish, he was such a joy to speak with and the definition of hospitality. So incredibly nice, accommodating, and truly enjoyed chatting with us the whole night. We stayed for a while because of him. He is a prime example of what makes Disney different in the type of people they hire with warm, genuine personalities. He made phenomenal drinks, and the food was amazing as always! Deanna needs to take a few lessons from him in the manners/personality department. He really turned our night around after the awful start. I’d give him a million stars if I could. Truly an exceptional employee that all three of us loved! We will come back because of him. I’m glad things worked out the way they did because we had such a great time with Anthony and we wouldn’t have had near the same experience with the mad at the world waitress.
Pros: -Good food (noodles especially) -Tasty cocktails -Convenient as a Polynesian resort guest Cons: -Seats are usually gone before they even open food service, and are hard to get throughout the night
Food was mediocre but servers like Adam were excellent. Enjoyed conversing with him, when went out of his way to make all patrons welcome.
