Been coming here for over 20 years. Always a great experience. I still remember the same kind woman at the register from when I was 10 years old walking to get my burrito after school.

This place is amazing. One of the best Mexican food spots in the county. Just wish they where open later but i understand considering the location.

You need cash money to eat here. One of our favorite Mexican places. California burritos are great!

The food is excellent. I eat there with a group of up to six people once a month. Everybody likes their food. Just to let you know it's cash only.

Cash only but worth every cent! Not fancy but enough room to sit and eat if you want dine in. Super fast service even though cooked to order. Got a Chili Rellenos alacart cause didn't need the beans and rice and oh my gosh it was the best I've had.....came on small bed of rice and garnish with pico..PERFECT! Also got carne asada burrito and yes they are HUGE! I will fir sure be back.

Been coming here since I was a kid. Biggest burritos in town and always the same quality of ingredients and flavors. This is definitely a loyal family owned business that has been around forever and deserves credit for always taking care if it’s customers and community. CASH ONLY 🤑

The burritos are a great size and their salsa is very good. I like the green and my husband loves the red. It's cash only, thank goodness there is a 7-11 right there. This is our go to drive- in movie dinner 🤗

My go-to ride/or/die no frills just yum east county taco shop. Never been let down here. I’ve eaten here over 100 times too, easy. Growing up in EC I’ve eaten at just about every taco shop from casa de pro to lakeside back out to jamul. I love me some taco shop. These guys are the best. The three things I base that on Food quality / price / staff/clean/ease Best of all 3. So many different burritos too. The chili verde is my favorite right now. Still only $5 for 5 rolled w guacNqueso- can’t be beat. I’ve tried. The burrito are massive too. The classics all deliver. Just try it. I’m ordering again right now ;D

Our new favorite local Mexican food restaurant. I got the 5 rolled tacos with guacamole and cheese and my husband got 2 carnitas tacos. The tacos were a huge portion and filled my husband up. The rolled tacos were very tasty and the meat was not dry at all.

Best Mexican food in lakeside hands down big and fat burritos and carne asada fries are huge and unlike other Mexican restaurants, they provide dine-in salsa bottles which is a plus

This place has some good food. The green hot sauce is pretty flavorful and not unbearably hot. Portions are nice sized the and the people working here have always been friendly. This place is also the best bang for your buck as they aren’t gouging customers like all the other taco shops have been. Thank you Los Rancheritos. Also, don’t forget to bring some cash because they’re environmentally friendly and hate plastic😉…and no donuts in the dirt lot, especially after a good rain. Red sauce is hot, sample before you pour. Don’t be a Jack wagon like terrible619 and ruin your food because your wimpy tastebuds can’t handle their hot sauce! 🔥

And they are fairly cheap as well 3.50 for a breakfast burrito that takes 2 or more sittings to finish. Their are only 2 draw backs. 1) its cash only but 7 eleven is right next store. 2) rhe weekend cook makes the burritos smaller and dosent roll em up good at all. I stopped going on weekends.

So damn good!!! We came here after a hike at cedar creek falls, and the food hit the spot! Def the best thing you can do for yourself after a hike like that is eat here!! 10/10 and their burritos are huge and so so flavorful

Rolled tacos are always fresh and tasty they are also pretty big and prices are good.

This is a CASH ONLY place. Their food is wonderful, especially their fish tacos. Their Chile Verde left a lot to be desired. The meat was dry. It looked like they used the carnitas deep fried meat instead of the soft pieces, cooked in the sauce like it should be. The place could use better furniture, more comfortable seats, etc. We were glad, however, that they have a handicapped area, with electric outlets for charging phones, etc. They also have a relatively clean bathroom. The sink is not very clean, though. They don't smile a lot, but they're polite.

I may have reviewed them before, but I really like them. I've tried most every spot in Lakeside, but they are hands down my favorite. I think the food is really good, wife and kids agree. I love their green sauce. It's get great flavor, really compliments their food. Tonight we ordered there again, and I don't know what changed, but the flautas tonight were phenomenal. Usually they are really good, but tonight was on another level. CASH only, but worth it!

Hands down...the BEST food in San Diego. Fair priced but the people make it like you were in a small town in the mountains of Mexico. The best food ever!! As of March 2026, this is still the best place in San Diego. 14 years later and I still go here weekly. Amazing food!!

The cali burrito was lite on the fries which made it relatively easier to consume. The food was very tasty. I will be back but I’m splitting the burrito with my wife.

I've been going here for years, the food is great and the proportions correspond well with the prices. My favorite dish is the carne asada fries which can almost feed two! Minus one star because they don't take card.

Extremely generous portions. We had rolled tacos, California burrito and carne asada burrito. Wife loved it and been craving since. I thought it was a bit tuff to chew and lacked flavor but sometimes lacking flavor can be a good thing i guess. Some people may wanna season differently. And i feel that choice is left open to the consumer. So salt it if you like or spice it up. All and all. Enormous portions for your money. Just be aware they its Cash Only Establishment. 3 YEAR LATER UPDATE! Still go here to this day. There Machaca burrito is hands down best in town. All of there breakfast burritos are large portions and tasty.

The chile rellenos were very good. There's a church close by and a lot of members have to swing by after service on Sunday and they're real nice and love the place too

The Red sauce has maximum heat and minimal flavor compared to many of the local shops. It ruins the enjoyment of their otherwise good food. If they would improve their current red sauce and take away some of the heat (or just offer a mild red sauce as another option) I would certainly eat here more often.

Smells good, however it's cash only. It's almost 2025, who does cash only anymore! Automatic 1-star for me!

Large portions would be the only good thing I could say about the place. The food wasn't hot, and it wasn't good. Even compared to a Taco Bell it came up short. It wasn't especially cheap, it doesn't accept credit cards and it wasn't a good atmosphere. Go somewhere else.

I tried the Carnias Plate about 2 weeks ago. It was different than any Carnitas I have ever had. Small dry and salty chunks of pork. Should have taken it back. I'm not sure if this is the normal method of preparation here, but I wouldn't recommend getting this plate.

The owner put guacamole on everything without telling people than won’t take it off or make you new one without paying. Horrible owners. Tacos were disgusting. Tortillas undercooked. Atmosphere gave off roach motel vibes. Please save your money and time. Don’t eat here. YOU WILL REGRET IT.
