Just moved to area so I can only rate friendliness and the service. Both top notch. I met Paul the bartender and was welcomed w open arms. Great people. Good prices, stiff drinks and warm service. Im impressed.

If you're looking for some excitement outside of your 9-5 boring desk job, this is it. If you are an avid pool player this is a great spot to go with some cheap drinks. They have free pool tables and there are always great partners to challenge yourself with! You need a little bit of a back-bone to deal with some of the "special " folk that frequent this bar, but if you keep your nose out of the suffocating drama, you should be alright. Sundays and Mondays are quiet, cozy nights. Great for focusing on your pool game. Wednesdays are karaoke night. The karaoke hostess, Heather Angel, is true to her name and a real gem. She is full of encouragement, charisma and positive energy. Paul is an awesome bartender, he's seen it all over the years and I appreciate his warm welcomes. You see a variety of unique characters frequent this spot and I think it's interesting enough to write a book about it. Aesthetically speaking the bookshelf is so neat, including a ton of books to browse from while you're chugging down some Guinness. I would recommend having chile serrano to add to their spicy margarita Edit: I still love frequenting this bar **cue Tony Keith** and Nicole is always quick to greet me with beautiful customer service and a fun drink!

They don't serve food but they have free chips where other bars charge 2 dollars for a bag.. and all the bartenders and bar backs are amazing.. Paul and Nicole are the greatest..

Love the atmosphere and people. I love shooting pool, and their pool tables are free everyday all day!! I wish more places were as friendly and warm as the Study.

Pretty cool spot like the theam of the place how it has actual books in the book shelf. They also have a pinball machine and a few other games. A small dance floor where there's 90% of the time a person on the floor. They also have a pool table. The only thing is that for it always have a good amount of people in there they sometimes run short on tables or seats but that's no biggie to stop you from enjoying yourself with the music and having a good time and leaving happy with a date.

Good bar for pool players. A ‘participatory’ environment. Come expected to meet new people, drink, and have a food time. Tip Paul and Nicole well. They will warn it.

Great little bar with four star service from Paul the manager/bartender for as busy as it was. Two more barmaids didn't venture beyond the pass thru. It was my second visit here and the place was rocking with a DJ for a birthday party. The beer was cold, the music was loud, free chips available to stimulate your thirst, decent drink prices to quench that thirst, a dedicated TV for San Diego Padres games, sports on the other televisions and two pool tables. The pool tables were in use all night. I have not played here, but the felt looked In good condition, the tables well spaced. Most of the bar and tables were filled while I was there. At the far end of the bar is a spot to charge your phone. The Padres dedicated TV is only visible to the three bar stools and a few tables at that end of the bar. When the game ends there is only a baseball recap show available to watch on that TV. There is an ATM available next door at the 7 eleven. Stopped in here again today 11 January 2024 around 4:20 pm. My third visit here and received excellent service from the person working the bar. Ordered a beer, plugged in my phone and asked for quarters to shoot pool. The lovely lady behind the bar informed me the pool tables were no charge. There was decent music playing on the jukebox, a formula one race on the TV and the locals mind their own. I neglected to ask the person tending bar her name, but she deserves a raise for being attentive to someone she had never seen in there before. As soon as she spotted my empty glass was right there asking if I was going to have another. It was one and done, my phone had enough charge so I respectfully declined. It is few and far between that you find a server, be it restaurant, bar or club that does their job well. I used to bartend myself as my family owned bars. My father used to scout his competition looking to steal quality servers such as this to work for him. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT IF YOU WANT A COLD BEER, NOSH ON FREE CHIPS, OR TO PLAY POOL.

Josh is the host; and he is very fair and efficient when it comes to running it. So far I loved this place. Nice safe place to walk in play pool and pinball... yes I said pinball they have a bowling game too I did not play it but it was catching my eye. They have music for you to play while you drink. Tvs everywhere to watch the Game. 2 pool tables 😎

I've had good and marginal experiences here. It has to do with whether the local crowd is being warm and welcoming that night or if they feel entitled and kinda mean. There is a lot chaotic screaming at the end of the night by bartenders to get people to leave. That's kind of nerve wracking. Karaoke Wednesday with KJ Heather is great.

The pool tables are very close to the entrance, so during league, we had to pause quite a few times due to personal patrons going in and out the door. There were also girls shooting Nerf dart guns while we were playing, which was a little annoying, but overall a good place.

If you're in the mood for reasonably priced drinks take a dive into a dark bar and surround yourself with strangers THEN have I got a bar for you .. Bury your wallet deep into your front pocket ...Another dark Bar be aware especially if you are there late at night. Looking for a refreshing change then go to Hooley's....

Very good bartenders, especially Lina and Nicole. Scotty is great. Good AC, even on hot days. Bathrooms pretty clean. The crowd can be pretty typical East County conservative - not the most welcoming for some. But it's East County.

I am a regular and she always expects people to move way just for her and she is very bossy with her words. No respect at all. Last night 11/2/22 made me had it and write this review. She was so rude she was walking towards the bar area to the door and one chair was in the way and she made “shew” hand gestures and said figure out your table in the rudest tone. I can understand the bar can be a busy environment but respect should always be given. This woman was so poor with her attitude. Overall I love coming for karaoke. I come for good vibes and sometimes my night is just rudely interrupted due to the way that woman is

Not only that there is still $10 that’s not being counted for ? I really liked this bar. I just wish the owner was more helpful in the situation. He literally said he reprinted the recipe to see if she wrote $30 which is impossible? Lol

Place has potential. Nice decor. I wish I could say more but I couldn’t get a drink. And it was slow. Bartenders are only interested in serving the regular customers. Very cliquey.
