I come here once a week, the man running the restaurant is incredibly kind and their food is delicious. I can't recommend this place enough. Top quality service and even better food.
Thank you Dae Bak, your BiBimBap and Beef Bagogi is delicious, great original Korean seasoning. Kimchi was hot but very appetizing. We can't wait til my next visit. GAMSAHABNIDA!
I honestly love this place. It's always pretty empty at the times I come and the food is really yummy! Highly recommend if you want a nice, Korean meal
The service is great, and the food is yummy. I’ll definitely want to come back!!!
Consistently great food and service that is friendly and professional if on the slow side. We keep coming back to this local favorite but don't expect fast food and you should be able to satisfy a craving for Korean at a very reasonable price. There is always Korean television on the TV
Korean food gets our teens out of the house. Kalbi was delicious as well as the fish roe soup--best we've had. Will be back.
Food was out of this world, gotta be somebody's grandma back there cooking up a storm. I personally love how quiet and clean the environment, it was very relaxing
Fantastic food for a decent cost. Store is clean and owner is friendly. Always come here every month for the hot pot and spicy pork.
The food is amazing. Every time we visit LA we make sure to eat here. It’s a husband and wife team who put so much love and care into the food and service. The bulgogi, tofu soup, and Korean pancake are my favorite. The banchan is great - maybe the best restaurant kimchi I’ve ever had (my girlfriend makes the best kimchi ever). You should eat here.
I’m so happy we found this place. There’s never a wait so you walk in anytime. My favorite dishes are the Soft tofu soup and Korean pancake. Definitely recommend coming here. They give banchan with the meal. So unlimited kimchi and other sides!
Great Korean food here at this mom and pop restaurant. The prices include banchan which is all the little tasty sides that come with an order. The Korean pancake is delicious and so is the bulgogi. And the owner is so warm and welcoming. Eat here for an authentic Korean food experience!
Love this place for korean food. Friendly service and the sweetest owner. The korean dishes are some common home cooking dishes. My favorite is the braised cod dish. This and some rice is so good. Try this new dish if you want to try something new and delicious!
I've only ordered the spicy beef soup here but it's the best I've ever had. If I'm ever hungover, I'm coming here for soup. My sister always orders the pork bone and potato soup and she raves about it. The banchan (sides) are great too.
Yummers! It reminds me of the restaurants I went to in Seoul. This place has a great selection. What to get? The pancakes. The dumplings. The dolsot (beef bibimbap).
We got the lunch special hot pots, very calm atmosphere. A little pricey but food was very delicious and smelled amazing.
A Korean restaurant is very small home like restaurant. if you want to have good Homestyle Cooking you go there. we were large groups food came out slower than other restaurants but food was good just like Mom cooking.
Our first time here, we have been next door and wanted to try something new. Excellent service along with delicious fresh food. Have a soju and enjoy the wait as they prepare your meals fresh.
Look elsewhere if you just want 'meh' but all-u-can-eat meat. But definitely check this place out if you're in the hunt for some quality Korean food. Service was great and prices reasonable. I'll be coming back for for sure.
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The food is always delicious and the customer service is great. This restaurant uses high quality ingredients and that translates in every bite you take. My favorite dish here is the pork bone soup with potatoe and kale as well as the bulgogi.
Amazing taste and authentic. I felt joy to write this review. Lived in Los Angeles for good part of my life. I'd say this place ranks in the top 10 of all restaurants in L.A. County. Really good food, prepared correctly!
It really good. The best Korean food I ever tasted. Sometime, The restaurant look empty but food are really good. It really worth it. I will definitely be back.
Exceptionally good homemade traditional Korean food. I can't believe how reasonably priced all the dishes are. My favorite is Kalgusu, knife cut noodles. But the kalbi and bulgogi soup are eally really good too. It's a mom and pop place that is pure comfort Korean food.
Came here on a thrusday early lunch! The food was good, but the only thing I have to say is that it's a little overpriced. I know I could have made this at home, but today, I was feeling a little under the weather to so came to try this place because I was craving the bibimbab. Would come back to try other food they have here for sure! They have a LUNCH Special for 7days 11am-3pm Ordered 2 Marinated beef which cost 20.99 1 Vegetable & Rice in Hot Pot I believe it was 17.99 or 16.99 around there 1 Ramen cost 8.99
The food here is savory and delicious! So much so that we went two weekends in a row! The first time we ate the Korean pancake, shirt ribs, bibimbab, and tofu soup. The second time we ate BBQ ribs and the pork bone soup with potatoes (reminded us a little of posole). We'll definitely be returning to try other dishes. I'm certain won't be disappointed. Also, Cass beer was a perfect start while we waited for our meal during our first visit. The second time, we ordered the rice wine, which had a subtle, creamy flavor.
Gal I was delicious. The only addition is they should serve kimchi with their side dishes.
It’s sooo yummy in here, the place is nice and feels so cozy, the service is really good and kind. Best option for Korean food around here!!! Love it
Fantastic restaurant! The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. If you’re unsure what to order, go for the bibimbap bulgogi—you won’t be disappointed! Much respect to the owner, who was running everything on his own.
Their budae Jjigae is AMAZING. The broth is super delicious and there are so many hams!! It was a big portion for two adults. However the pancake wasn't really good... It felt like they used old oil :( ... But I'm still giving them 5 stars because they were super nice and budae jjigae was amazing.
Holy moly was this place delicious!! We stopped by random chance (shopping near by) and what a hidden gem. Absolutely recommend this mom & pop restaurant! Walked in at 4:30 pm on a Saturday and was not busy at all. We were seated immediately. Decided on having the Pork Bone & Potato Soup with Rice and the bulgogi bibimbab with fixings. Everything was perfect! The best Korean food I’ve had hands down. I especially enjoyed the hot sauce/paste as it was a perfect blend of sweet, spicy and savory. As mentioned, this is a mom & pop restaurant with limited staff - never saw more than just one server - so be prepared to wait for your food. HOWEVER, do not let that stop you from trying this place. It is definitely worth the wait ❤️
Every single dish was wonderful. Banchan, bibimbap, seafood pancake, and short rib
10/10 The food & service was amazing! He was also running the restaurant on his own while maintaining everything! Thank you so much!
The bibimbap was really excellent, and the panchan was delicious. I plan to come back.
Great food quality, would definitely recommend and go again!
This is our go-to Korean restaurant. We keep coming back because it never disappoints us!

Went in today !! Gotta say the food was great .. had spicy beef soup and my wife had bulgogi and dumplings … was completely satisfied with this place !! Also we were the only 2 customers there .. which was shocking after having tasted the food … very delicious… how is this not a popular place ???
Delicious and highly recommend for authentic Korean food.
I've been in LA area since last Sunday and I have not had any Korean. So I found this place online and it had good reviews so I stopped by. I now know why this place had great reviews. First and foremost the food was amazing. The cook in the back is the bomb! I ordered 3 different dishes and all 3 were Awesome. And of course the service matched the taste of the food. Man if you want to try an amazing Korean food, I highly recommend you checking this place out. As an adopted Korean guy I can honestly say you will love it! 😁

"Until Dae Bak here, baby Miss you, want you, eat you so Until Dae Bak here, baby, yeah There's a hunger inside I want you to know You are the one And I can't let you go." - Dae Bak parody of "Back Here", BB Mak Shoutout to my buddy & fellow Korean, Chris C, for this little gem. Okay, so technically I'm not Korean, but with all the Korean food that I eat, I consider myself an honorary Korean. Of course, I also consider myself an honorary Chinese, honorary Japanese, honorary Lebanese etc. ;p Lunch specials are inexpensive and quite reasonable. I decided upon the spicy beef soup ($6.99)- Preparation H & Tucks Medicated Pads must be hot commodities in Korea, because everyone must have burning bungholes from all the spicy Korean foods ;p A large bowl of tender shredded beef, egg, green onions with glass noodles swimming in a fiery broth. The broth didn't numb the mouth, which is good because I like tasting my food, but caused sweat to bead all around my big dome. My eyes teared, my nose ran & I needed a couple napkins to wipe the perspiration from my face. The soup warmed me from head to toe. Delicious, filling and for not a lot of scratch! Unlimited banchan & rice came with my order. Only 4 banchan options, but they were good Seating is plentiful, with tables in the middle & booths around the perimeter. A chandelier hanging from the ceiling adds a touch of class to this casual restaurant. A flatscreen TV with Korean QVC was on for diner's viewing pleasure. I was close to ordering some women's spanks, but couldn't make out the toll free number ;p The wood paneling facade on the walls makes the restaurant seem cylindrical in shape. Service was good, although even though I was the only one dining there at the time, the wait seemed a bit long. Parking is in private lot in a Korean strip mall, with a few dedicated parking stalls at the entrance. Looking for another lunch spot? Dae Bak, baby!. Affordable lunch options of delicious Korean food, closeby to home, are why I'm a fan. Let's do lunch! Highly recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMOMNOMNOM
The food is very authentic and the service is good, The atmosphere makes it feel cozy and overall its a great place I definitely recommend this place to people who are new.
It wasn't too bad. Gave 4 stars because the squid could've been cooked a tad bit more, but it was still good. Also see updated menu prices that I posted
The wait for the food was a bit too long, given that we were the only customers there for a late lunch. BUT the seafood pancake was worth the wait - Crispy, lots of seafood, and delicious. Fish soup was good too.
I've been looking for a new regular Korean spot since moving to the Los Alamitos area a couple years ago, and my search is finally over. I've been to Dae Bak several times now, and it has become my go to Korean restaurant. You won't find all you can eat, Sam (lettuce leaves for wraps), or a grill at your table, but they have all the basics I'm familiar with, and they're good. Bibimbap, Korean pancake, daengjang shige (sp?), gamja tang. I haven't had a bad dish here yet. I'm not sure why, but there are hardly any customers when I eat here, so, as far as I can tell, you shouldn't have to wait long to be seated. The dining area is roomy, comfortable, and clean. Prices are good as well, so you really can't go wrong by coming to Dae Bak if you're in the mood for a good Korean meal.
Ordered take-out. Bipimbap was ok, protein portion was small, maybe 4 tablespoons size. Likely will not order that again. However, the Budae Jjigae, had a nice (but not overly spicy broth) with ham, hot dog and spam. Would definitely order it again.
we went for dinner and it was not crowded at all, the service was fast, the food was very good. It is run by a couple and they are very friendly.

It's a bit gloomy in the dining area, but the owner is super nice and the pork neck bone soup is done nicely. We usually only order that dish to go. Sides are included nd packed with care.

To say this is a laid back place is an understatement, but that is no necessarily a bad thing. If you are looking for the a quick korean meal with no wait, Dae Bak can fill that need. The Menu is quite small with some KBBQ plates and small selection of soft tofu and pancake dishes. They do have some combo type deal, but those menu items are written in korean, and I didn't understand for consideration. The Boulgogi and beef soft tofu were both ok... but that's about it.
Came here on a Sunday at 530, and the place was empty. We were wondering why it felt so deserted, and even contemplated on walking out at one point. We ordered food that is suppose to well accomodate soju as we were ready to drink after a round of golf. Haemul pa jun - seafood pancake - was really hearty. We finished this in a heart beat with 4 guys. I would recommend this as a rice substitute if you are drinking. Pork ribs - this felt a bit too smothered in sauce but lacked any kind of taste Due jang jjigae - this was good! Aged kimchi with mackerel- it looked good on its menu, but it didn't have the kick of an aged kimchi I was hoping. This restaurant would be great for a quick lunch, but felt lacked any indepth layers of a great Korean food.
This is the smallest portion of bibimbap I've ever had in Los Angeles, costing $22.9+tax.
They significantly raised the price on their lunch specials. What used to be 8.99 last year is now 14.99. I know this is common everywhere but… the quality and taste just wasn’t worth it. I got the tofu soup and it had tofu, 3 pieces of clams, and a shrimp. The side dishes were nothing notable.
