The service is really great! The food is very delicious and fresh! The ambience is clean and the staff are friendly. We ordered mixed vegetables and fillet fish with black beans and sweet & sour soup, very very fresh and delicious!
Our family has been coming to Canaan since before our daughter was born. She's now 16! The food is delicious and the staff always makes this restaurant our home away from home. Everyone, especially Sue, is so nice and we can't wait for our next meal here. Favorite dishes include scrambled egg with tomato, orange chicken, cashew nut chicken, and the pork pan fried bao. You wont regret visiting Canaan if you've never been here before.
We love this restaurant. It has been my favorite for years. Great for families. They are so nice to kids! Food is consistently delicious!!
A very welcoming friendly environment further enhanced by a delectable plethora of chinese cuisine with exotic flavours and freshness. I would recommend this place to anyone for any meal of the day.
They have a great selection of lunch specials that are between $10 to $15 which comes with rice and soup. Food was a good portion too.
My go-to spot for a decently wide selection of a mix of authentic Chinese, Taiwanese cuisine and some good Americanized Chinese dishes when I'm in the Artesia/Cerritos area. Haven't had the lobster yet but I plan to try in the future. They have a tank with live lobsters when you walk in. Friendly staff/service & laid back atmosphere.
Good food. Came during lunch specials and food was plentiful and hot. Clean location and good crowd. I wish they served corn egg drop soup for their daily, but it changes day to day.
My family has been coming here for years and the food never disappoints! Service is amazing and while seats are always filled, it never takes long to get seated. My family loves to order the tofu and fish dishes
Love the food, good service. I’ll keep on coming back 👍
Canaan is one of Artesia’s hidden gems for Taiwanes and Chinese food. We’ve been coming here over 10 years. The food is amazing but the best part is the service. Servers are very welcoming and friendly, they speak both English and Mandarin and make sure you enjoy your meal.
The restaurant is great! We’ve been coming here for the last 10 years. Great flavor, same servers and the atmosphere is excellent. Super cozy and friendly!
Always love coming here. Great for kids as they give the cutest plates. My toddlers love frozen and they have the plateware to eat off of. It’s made for such a core memory that my 4 year old daughter still remembers it from when we ate here for the first time when she was 2. She asks to go to the restaurant that has the frozen plate. Their spare ribs sauce is so good but next time we’ll order it as Peking pork chops bc it’s a bit of work to eat around the bones but the flavor is on point. Their Mapo tofu is spicy with mala so beware and make sure you can handle the heat! Love the service here and how kind and attentive they are. Their menu is so extensive that we get big eyed and want to order everything! We will continue to come back!
Have been frequenting this family restaurant even when my kids were still young. Now they have their own family & we still go to this place because of delicious dishes, very healthy, savory & affordable. In addition to that Sue is very friendly with excellent customer service & she will always help you choose dishes that we've never tried before. She's the BEST 👌. Try this place & you will not regret & you'll keep coming back.
The food was so amazing and delicious we scraped the plates. The service was also great, very kind and helpful servers. Will definitely come back again soon
After years of dining here we can’t stop coming back!! The food is quick and delicious and the service is always welcoming and reliable!! My family absolutely loves coming to eat at Canaan.
I have had a consistently great experience eating here and my family has been coming here since before I was born! We have enjoyed the various dishes and recommend others to come here.
Canaan is the best Chinese food in town! Our family has been coming here for years and love it. It’s our go to place for Chinese food. The service is excellent all the servers are warm and kind. The atmosphere is clean and vibrant. We love this place!
Canaan is my old time favorite! They have the best authentic Taiwanes dishes, must try their lunch with special price! Love it!!!
The food is delicious with reasonable portions. My favorite dish is the lamb with scallion. The vibe is chill and homely. I would definitely come back again 🙂 Back again today and tried different menus. My new favorite is the House Special Fish Fillet ! 😍
Great food and vibes. My family really likes the fried rice and pan fried noodles and typhoon style shrimp. Very accommodating to vegetarians as well!
My family and I have been coming here for well over 10 years and for good reason. The food here is great and the service is awesome. They are like family to me here and they treat us the same way. Definitely get the green scallion pancake, water spinach, stinky tofu, fried pork chop, 3 cup chicken, steamed fish, mapo tofu. You literally cannot go wrong with any dish here.
Everything about Canaan is perfect! The service is always so warm and willing. The food never fails to be full of flavor and freshness. And the ambience is bright and clean. Such a wonderful place to come with family. I love choosing Canaan every chance I get!
Consistently well prepared food. Fried rice and rice noodle dishes have nice wok hei. Not greasy but good flavor. Interior could use some upgrades. Service was pleasant.
My favorite place. I love the mapo tofu and French beef filet . Very delicious! Great foods, great staff and great service! Especially Sue. She is a 5 star, she always takes good care of us when we’re dine here. She makes us feel welcome! Love this Place. Highly recommended for anyone looking for Great food!
My first time coming here. We’re order braised pork belly and chow mein. I love the food! It has high ratings too
I met my friend here for lunch as it is one of his go-to places for Tawainese/Chinese homestyle food. He ordered us a good amount of things to try - including the Three Cups Chicken, Stinky Tofu, pork spare ribs, Tawainese sausage and buns, and veggies. We had plenty to eat and everything was delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with the food here.
I love this place. This is the most authentic Chinese/Taiwanese food around. It’s been here forever because the food here is so solid. Anything you order here is fresh and yums. I never feel thirsty after eating here like other Chinese places we eat at. I always wish I have left overs to take home. Also a lot of the people working here have been working here for a long time and tried to give the best service. So happy that I can order online So happy they have children plates and accommodates families well. They have three large tables and many small tables. They get busy on the weekends but it’s easy to get a table during the week! My favs here Fried tofu Chef special fish Green beans West lake soup Steamed fish with tofu Any of the beef dishes Walnut shrimp Shrimp with eggs
Canaan Restaurant near Cerritos is a hidden gem for authentic Taiwanese and Chinese cuisine. The menu is extensive with plenty of traditional dishes, making it a great spot for family-style dining or trying something new. Popular items like scallion pancakes, dumplings, Mongolian beef, and honey walnut shrimp are flavorful and well prepared.
I’ve been coming here since I was a child! Food is always delicious. Reminds me of home style cooking and the service is always attentive and nice. I’ve been seeing Sue for years now and am always happy to see her face. This place is a comfort place for me. Not just for the food but for the atmosphere. It really is a home away from home. I love the lunch specials.
Ive been coming here for about 10 years and I can't complain about a single thing from any time Ive come here. The staff always remembers who me and my family are, and the food is always great. Some stuff varies in taste and quality from visit to visit, but it's never bad nontheless. If you're looking to take a step away from kung-pao chicken, go ahead and order some green onion pancakes and lamb with cumin.
First time trying this restaurant and it did not disappoint! The space was clean, the food was delicious, and the flavors had a really nice Taiwanese-style balance. We ordered the Sichuan-style shrimp noodles, French beef, eggplant, and the salt & pepper fish, everything was so good that I was too excited and hungry after the gym to take more than one photo! Definitely a place you have to experience for yourself. Prices were also very reasonable for the amount and quality of food. I’ll absolutely be back.
The welcoming was nice… once we decided on what to order (lots of selection) the food arrived in a timely fashion. The freshness and flavor exceeded my expectations. We ordered shrimp chow main, walnut shrimp, mongolia beef, kung pao chicken, dumplings and milk tea boba… the boba was delicious. It’s definitely authentic Chinese food. Left satisfied.
This spot is a flavor powerhouse! The eggplant is incredibly tender and savory, while the orange chicken strikes the perfect balance of crispy texture and tangy glaze. The real standout, however, is the fires fish—it brings a bold flavor that is absolutely addictive.
If you want the best traditional Taiwanese food in the 562 area, Canaan is the place to be at. My family is from Taiwan and we have been coming here for 20+ years, and we have yet to find a place better than this. 100/10 would recommend
Every time we’ve eaten here, the food has been excellent. Very tasty. Service is very good. I highly recommend this place and the prices are always good.
Alright long due in review bc I'm lazy. So been coming here for a decade now. Food has been consistently good for such small place. There so many items that are good / great over the years. For now my goto's 3 cup chicken. In the image. Others house special lobster and stir fried water spinach and beef in satay sauce , and the standard beef chow fun
We LOVE this place! The food is SO good and the service is great! The prices are completely reasonable too!
Great food, clean ambiance, professional staff. Lunch specials are a great deal.
Very good restaurant, has been here for years tucked in the corner near the supermarket. Food is very good. Chinese comfort food easy to eat. They have good lobster one of the best in area.
Amazing food! My grandparents have been coming here for around 30 years and it’s still a family go-to. As a vegan, I love the green beans and eggplant!
The food here is amazing! Very authentic and people here are also very sweet and nice! Wonderful customer service! Pride is very reasonable as well! Not too crazy expensive!
Great lunch specials and very tasty. Quality was amazing. We had filet fish with black bean sauce, pork strips with Peking sauce and 3 delight in clay pot

Favorite restaurant! Authentic food. Always order the fried rice and pork ribs. Staff is very attentive and kind. Overall, very nice calm atmosphere. Perfect for dates or family time :) forgot to take pictures but here is my wonton soup more than half way done

Great food! Many options were available, all of which were delicious. The lobster noodles were especially good, juicy and full of flavor. Very satisfied and highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner!
Our family’s go-to Taiwanese food. Been coming here for over 20 years. Owner’s changed but food quality remains excellent. Service has also improved. We always get the house special fish filet, green onion pancake, hot and spicy wontons, and beef satay. We’ve tried many other dishes and always happy with our order. Can be very busy during rush hours.

You don't have to drive to Monterrey Park to get your fix of great Taiwanese food. In fact, some of the dishes they serve here are better than the ones in the 626. This is the spot to satisfy your Taiwananese food cravings. All of the dishes we tried were delicious, authentic flavor. Portions were good, even had enough leftovers the next day. The restaurant is clean. The service staff are all friendly and accommodating.
This is that wonderful no-pretension Chinese/Taiwanese spot with a menu so broad it feels like a United Nations summit of noodles, dumplings, and wok-kissed delights, where you will find yourself pointing at pictures and grinning like you’re ordering lunch in a dream you once had after too much late-night dim sum; the xiao long bao here are little soup bombs that make slurping socially acceptable, bursting with broth and joy in every bite, and the variety from chow mein to salt-and-pepper fish makes every visit feel like culinary speed-dating with deliciousness!
First time I came here a couple years ago, I felt that the food was very oily. Now I know, all of you will say, "But it's Chinese food, of course it'd be greasy!" But no. It was REALLY greasy, and I remember the vegetables were really salty, and the meat was not flavorful enough. This last time however, it was MUCH better! Very pleased! The things that were fried weren't super greasy, but what was supposed to be crispy was crisp! Service was great, even when I was here the first time. Oh, and their Three-cup Chicken is REALLY good! Nice glaze on the outside but the inside was really soft! This time, we even got the dessert soup, which usually has a heavier wine flavor, which this place didn't have enough wine. But then, it's a specific wine, and some people complain that it smells like sewage, so it's probably best they didn't put it in there.
Nice restaurant in Cerritos. They have a large menu with different region specialities. The restaurant is medium sized and clean. There are both large family tables and small tables. The restaurant has a good flow of customers so the food products are pretty fresh. The staff is friendly. The food comes out pretty quickly after ordering at a steady pace. They forgot one of our dishes so we ended up not getting it. The menu has selections from different regions so we weren’t sure what type to stick with. Some dishes we had tasted really good and others just weren’t quite what we had expected. Their portions are large so there is plenty to be had. We had the hot and sour soup, not pictured, which was super good! All in all a good place and we will return and stick to one region for our dish choices.
First time here. Food is good, servers are friendly. Spent about $30+ person.
I came here with my partner for dinner. The foods were tasty and good. Its convinience and close to Cerritos Mall.

⚠️ We ordered the Lobster Yi Mein at $45.00, a high price even with inflation. What arrived was a colossal disappointment: we received only four thumb-sized bites of lobster tail. When I asked if it was a whole lobster, they claimed it was a "small one." It was the size of a large shrimp. I felt completely scammed. Split between two people, we each had two pathetic bites. The rest of the shell was pure visual fraud. The head and legs were cut into four pieces purely for decoration—they contained no meat. The claws were similarly butchered, split in half with tiny strands to artificially increase the piece count. The noodles themselves were substandard. They were not stir-fried with the lobster, so they lacked any lobster flavor, tasting only of heavy soy sauce. It was soy-sauce noodles with a tiny, expensive side of shell. I weighted the lobster with sauce and everything for benefit of the doubt. It was 0.75 pounds, which it really wasn't. By my estimate, the wholesale at $10, but let's make it $20 to be more fair. So 0.75 pound of lobster was valued at perhaps $15. I was charged $30 for poor preparation and tasteless noodles, and $45 for four bites of seafood. Am I wrong to feel dissatisfied?
