Love this place, the crust is on point, baguette-like.
Best Pizza Ever!!! You don't come here for the arcade games. You come here for the incredible pizza. Not cheap, but don't let the price keep you away. You get what you pay for. Worth every penny. I drive 20 miles to eat here. Service can be slow, but I still give it 5 stars because of the pizza. All the other Me n Eds in socal have closed. This is the last one. A must try if you've never been here. Thin is best, but the thick crust is good too. Enjoy!!! (Customer for over 45 years)
Exactly what I want from Me & Ed's. Kept to a simple traditional friendly atmosphere. Really good food. Hawaiian pizza, Veggie, cheese, pepperoni. Great group gathering. Get reservations for large group. Same wonderful decor.
I love quaint places to eat and this place fits the bill! The pizzas were made from scratch made-to-order! It's a very old school, weary place but it did not hinder me from enjoying the experience. It's an awesome place for my kids and I to hang out! Come see it for yourself!
The pizza is incredible. It is more expensive than the national brands but it is worth every penny you pay. Ingredients are top notch and plenty of them. It takes all of my will power to not devour a medium sized pizza all by myself as much as I am tempted to.
Pizza was delicious! This place is like a time capsule! It’s been a while since I last visited a Me N Ed’s! My family loved it.
I have been going to Me and Ed's for about 40 years now and it is still my favorite pizza and one of my favorite places to eat. I hope they never close it down. I live in Anaheim and I drive all the way to Lakewood when ever I want pizza. I crave their pizza, it's that good!
I've lived in Long Beach my whole life and there's always somewhere new to find, and when I was invited to Me and Ed's Pizza and got the Hawaiian with Alfredo I was like, come on, but then the first bite it was like holy guacamole!
Best freaking pizza ,in the world ,yes in the world. Order the combination remove the Canadian bacon and lingueca (something like that)add jalapeños and purple onions and puff the best pizza in the world make sure you order a x large your going to need the extra slices.
This place is awesome! The pizza meat lovers pizza was bomb the veggie pizza was fresh! The cashier Jacob was very helpful getting me change for the kids and pouring pitchers! It was a great time ! They also have a Mandalorian Pin Ball Machine!! This is the way !!
I used to go to Me-N-Ed's every Friday with my family when I was a kid. We went to the one in Costa Mesa which is no longer there, too bad. I loved the saw dust on the floors and funny signs, "If you value your hat and coat....wear them" and " good food takes time to prepare....yours will be ready in minutes". Always a fun time eating on the picnic tables and drinking the pitchers of coke. The pizza was always so good!
If I could live in this place, I would. I love Me-n-Eds. Grew up eating it I'm Santa Ana. Santa Ana Closed, Garden Grove closed then Costa Mesa closed. I'm glad the Lakewood location has stood the test of time. I come here from Perris just to have this amazing pizza. When my brother comes in from Denver, we try to always hit it up. I hope it's always around. Thank you for keeping it original.
Been a huge fan of this ye olde pizza parlor for over 25 years. They serve a unique pizza that is in a league of its own. I imagine they will be around for a while with pizza this good and a great banquet hall like atmosphere to enjoy it in.
Have been coming here for years. There is new ownership, but I feel the quality of the food is still about the same and they have added a few items. They do not have a Tuscan Pizza anymore which did lose my in-laws business because that was their favorite. New staff is friendly but learning. I will be back again.
This is an awesome place. Pizza is hand crafted, they do a great job, you can feel is so natural. You can pick your favorite veggies if you like or just eat it plain, I was there with our students. They all picked they favorite. I want a talk just briefly about the decoration, I believe it's more than a century old; they've kept everything in it's original layout. Beside the delicious pizza, they're games that everybody can enjoy and have fun; either before eating or after. Parking is good, we went morning time around 11am and the place was just for us! Go and enjoy this place!!!
I'll always rate me n eds 5*. Best pizza on the planet. Staff kinda didn't cut the pizza all the way through this time and gave us a plastic knife to finish cutting it.. which was kind of strange to say the least. But not the norm-assuming someone had a long day
This is a great pizza joint. Casual picnic style seating, tables and benches. Not too crowded and the pizza is great.
This family style pizza place is comfortable and kid friendly. Everyone in the kitchen was busting butt to get orders out. Friday night they had someone hop on the piano which was fun. There are some kids games so bring quarters. Pizza had a crust with a light crunch on the bottom. Wings were perfectly spicy and crispy.
Me & Ed's has been a staple place since childhood. There is something about the crust- extremely thin and cooked to perfection. The pizza sauce-homemade, darker in color due to the ingredients and just the right amount of delicious-ness. Me & Ed's was one of the first places where you could watch your pizza being prepared; cooked; sliced and served. Me & Ed's is a must if you are a true pizza lover.
Great pizza!! Nice, fluffy, crunchy crust! Chicken wings fell right off the bone. Perfectly paired with their homemade ranch. The cheesy bread sticks were my favorite!! Every bite was warm, gooey, and delicious. Definitely will return.
Came here with the family for the first time, the food was great, and also the atmosphere. We are definitely coming back.
jonathan is a great manager. excellent service, food, and atmosphere here!!
One of the best places I’ve ever eaten pizza at. Words cannot describe how much I love this place and how good its pizza is! You just gotta try it for yourself!
Incredible customer service a d the pizza is absolutely gourmet. Don't miss out another day and stop by no matter how much you have to drive. Each bite is worth it!
This place has the best damned pizza. The ingredients are solid, and omg the crust is amazing! Kind of the old school pizza parlor vibes: long wood tables with benches, a big screen tv with several tv's scattered around, a few arcade games, etc. I can't stress with how damn good the pizza is.
Food is great. Old time pizza lounge feel.
Timeless Family-Friendly Pizza Spot Me and Ed's Pizza holds a special place in our hearts, dating back to before we even settled in Lakewood. The nostalgia of coming here to play pool, indulge in pizza, and catch the game is unparalleled. This spot exudes a family-friendly vibe with a welcoming atmosphere that hasn't wavered over the years. It's the kind of place you can bring the kids after sports games for a satisfying meal and a relaxed time. Me and Ed's Pizza is what it is - straightforward, delicious pizza in a comfortable setting. It's perfect for those laid-back evenings or post-game gatherings with the family. Here's to many more years of enjoying their classic pies and cherished memories.
Great atmosphere, great pizza, great service. On the pricey side, but totally worth it. Sucks they got rid of the piano in place of the self-serve soda machine. Also, for whatever reason, they tend to blast the music louder than a nightclub - they didn't used to do that.
What a treat! A transplanted former Californian, miss this style of pizza! This place is an established gem having been there since the 1960’s. Friendly staff, great food. Will return when in the area
Denise very unprofessional. Worst customer service I've experienced going to eat, spending $100. Not cool. To add insult to engery she got order wrong after waiting 40 minutes. I'm prior Military USAF Sergeant and treatment was like I was a bum didn't want to give me the Military discount that is offered.
The pizza and wings were delicious. The service was excellent, and the staff was very friendly.
We have been going here for over 30 years. It had been about 5 since we were there last. It has changed a little, but the food is very consistent.
We periodically travel from Rancho Cucamonga to Lakewood to get Me n Ed’s pizza. We used to enjoy this place on the weekly when we used to live up in the Central Valley. This is the only Me n Ed’s in the area. The way they make the pizza isn’t quite as good as the valley but the flavors are all there. Definitely worth a try if you’ve never had it, but beware, you’ll fall in love.
The pizza is always amazing 👌 🔥 the beer choices are great and the atmosphere is very good just a great pizza parlor and the people who work there are really nice
Got a heart shaped pizza on valentines day it's always worth the drive, I drive from Nevada
Husban & I used to live in the central valley (Fresno area) & Me-N-Eds is one of the best pizza places there. We are now in SoCal & found one down here. So happy about that! The SoCal location does not disappoint. So yummy! The restaurant itself looks so old school & I love that! Looks like what I grew up with. Best🍕 around!!! My only complaint...the ranch isn't great. Too bitter. They just need to work on this & all will be well!
Be going to Me n Ed's for 50+years. Great pizza. Great pizza. Great pizza. This is the classic pizza parlor, beer bar, decor, looks sounds and feel! Wish I lived closer. They do have live music, I've never had the chance to see.
Hey! Been at this location in the 60ties i order two personal pizzas 🍕 🍕 while waiting for LB #22 Bus to Alamitos Ave and Ocean. The Girls at Me n Ed's Pizza make Great! Pizza and service before my Bus arriving. Thks B Safe!
We met family here, we were welcomed with friendly and fast service. The pizza was delicious, the beer & wine were of quality. A good place to eat before going to watch ice hockey😁
What can you say!! Delicious pizza and cold beer 🍺!! You cannot find Ragtime music on a Saturday like Me and Ed's! And PLEASE make sure you tip Mr. Hodges!! The BEST RAGTIME musician you will ever see!! He is a jewel on the crown! A living LEGEND!!
I grew up eating this pizza since the early 1970s. This is one of the few left in Orange County California. It’s always such a nice feeling coming here to have pizza that tastes the same. Love it love the atmosphere.
We visited this establishment yesterday and were pleased to find it very clean and well maintained. The young woman who assisted us was exceptionally attentive and professional. Both the facility and the staff demonstrated a high standard of cleanliness. It is worth noting that the place receives a high volume of customers
One of the best pizza parlor 's in Long Beach, it's been around for years . Great crust. The thin crust has the cheese , sauce , and toppings going right to the edge. It's the only pizza that I don't have left over crust with. Combine that with the homemade ranch ! The best!
Definitely brings me back to the '80s and '90s, after baseball or soccer practice getting together with teammates and friends having pizza and playing video games the vibe here is phenomenal!! Oh and the pizza is also great!! Lots of size options, appetizers and drinks options both alcoholic and non. Bring the family grab some friends come enjoy this establishment!!
LOVE COMING HERE! Management is so friendly and kind! Been coming here for years , Won’t stop coming! ALL the food is delicious! Everyone needs to come in , Sundays they have LIVE MUSIC! Very fun and Friendly for Birthday Parties! You’re able to Reserve The Party Section! Hands downs The Best Pizza Parlor!
We had fun trying this place. As soon as we walked in, we could hear a man playing saloon music on the piano. We ordered garlic bread with cheese and a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Dined in and it came out pretty fast. Nice toppings to cheese to crust ratio. I'd come back and bring friends. Also, this pizza was better than I had in NYC last week.
For those who remember the days of the big 3 pizza parlors, Me & Ed's, Straw Hat, and Shakeys, this spot is a throwback. It takes you back to a simple time when you'd go out with mom and dad, and they'd get a pitcher of beer and the kids got a pitcher of soda, along with pizza of course, while old movie serials played on the screen. The pizza here tastes like it did back in the day, which is delicious! The interior hasn't changed, and neither has the exterior! If you want to take a trip back in time, pack up the kids and check this place out! If you like a blast from the past, definitely check this spot out! The beer is cold, and the pizza and other offerings are delicious! Definitely worth a look!
Me and Ed's was great. Pizza is thin and crispy with a great flavor. Cheese blend just adds to the flavor. Price for a 2 topping XL was extremely high, $35.
Yesterday was my first time coming to this pizza parlor and all that I can say is the pizza was Incredible! It was cooked to perfection, the cheese was very fresh as were the veggies and meat. They also don't skim on the toppings. So that's a plus. My only complaint was the lack of positivity the staff had. They all seemed drained and not very responsive to customers. I wish they had been more interactive and cheery with the customers. That was rather disappointing. I've worked in customer service for over 8 years and having a positive outlook at the work place can really make the difference. Overall, pizza quality wise the food is definitely worth the try!
Food could be better. Pizza toppings were so fresh and yummy! Sauce was delicious. Dough, I don't know. It tasted like a store bought pizza dough, when you overcook it and it was frozen for a long time. Meaning, the crust was hard and tastes like unleavened bread. Hard and difficult to eat. That is strange as you can see them taking out the fresh dough not from the freezer. I will give it another try to see if their dough is better. If it is not I don't think I will go back again. I have been many times up north to the Fresno Me and Ed's and every time it was delicious! I don't know what happened here.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! However I acknowledge that my love comes from nostalgia. There used to be a location Costa Mesa that my dad took me to as a kid. Overall Me n Ed's is a solid pizza: Crispy crust, gooey cheese, plenty of toppings. The atmosphere is the classic pizza parlor.
OG!! Thats a good thing. Salads can be improved. Pizza crust my cheesy cardboard:)
Garlic Cheese Bread should be just that, BREAD! Not a cute little personal size pizza with some awful garlickly dressing. The "Classic All Meat" Pizza was very good and cooked to perfection. I would have liked my money back for the so called garlic cheese bread, because we did not eat it.
This place is old school and very fun. Nothing fancy, but all good! The decor is just like places I remember from the 1970s.
There used to be a MeNEds in Santa Ana that was the place to go! So when we saw that there was still one in Lakewood we needed to make the drive over there. Atmosphere was just like I remembered it back in the 80s-90s which was nostalgic. Unfortunately there was no air and needed to sit by a fan to get some air. Service was good. Pizza’s do take awhile to come out but love that you can watch them prepare your pizza just like in the old days!
Stays consistent in flavor & quality since at least 1964. Was the very 1st pizza I liked. Mostly still is. Also ate at their Pismo Beach location 2 years ago, tasted exactly like the pizza in Lakewood.
Not too sure how I feel about this place. I come here at least 1 time a month. My wife and I both agreed though that the pizza was just ok. It wasn't great and it wasn't bad. Also the options are pretty limited. I mean if you're hungry and in the area there's plenty of room to sit down with family and have some pizza. Definitely wouldn't be going out of my way to come here though.
Me and Ed’s is honestly such a solid spot for pizza. The crust is always crispy, the cheese tastes fresh, and the pepperoni always hits. It can get busy, but the service stays pretty quick. Jennifer is really nice every time I go in and always friendly. Definitely a good spot.
I remember Me-n-Ed's growing up, and I was really looking forward to going, the place, and atmosphere was great, and the customer service was on point, but got home, and it just didn't have that taste I remembered. It was good, just not great, but don't let my review tint you from going, differently give it a try?
I have visited Me N Ed's in the Fresno area and was happy to see one on Lakewood. Let's start with the good. The personal (pan) pepperoni was delicious. The crust was delicious and toppings on point. The garlic bites, yummy as well. Fresh, hot, yum. We ordered a meatlovers and a veggie. The toppings were delicious, cheese nicely melted. The thin crusts on them tasted old, too hard. The dough was not fresh. Disappointing. Will give them another try but will order pan to see if it's tastier crust. Total for 3 pizzas and a drink, $63.61. Update. Went this weekend again and the thick crust is the way to go. Not burnt, crispy, and delicious. Thin crust, 2/3 stars, thick crust 4. Will repeat for the thick crust.
The lunch special is a good deal with the mini pizza, drink, and salad. The staff was nice and the inside had a self playing piano which was pretty cool. The pizza was decent. I’m not sure if the crust is different on bigger sized pizzas, but I felt like the mini crust was a bit bland
This place makes some of the best pizza in our area. I am always saddened to see such poor service and it seems like most of the people have terrible attitudes.. hard to believe they can act this way and have such bad service when all of their competition like dominoes Pizza hut etc have pizzas at 1/3 the cost. I sometimes wonder if it is worth it? Damn, their pizza is pretty good though. Three big slices filled me up last night The deluxe combo The only way to go
My family and I was really looking forward to parlor style pizza, figured the kids would enjoy the environment. Unfortunately I think this place had seen better days. The service was mediocre at best, pizza was nothing special and non of the kids entertainment work. As a matter of fact when I asked for quarters the cashier advised not to waste the money - at least you can say they are honest.
It's an "old fashion suburban pizza joint." If that's the "experience" you want then it'll hit that spot. The location I've eaten at is their one restaurant in all of Southern California. The rest are mostly in the Central Valley around Fresno. They make a "serviceable" pizza and serve up in a "family friendly" setting of large tables with bench seating. It's the perfect place for family outing or where to take the softball team kids after a game. The pizza itself is bland. It's not bad, but that's not much of a compliment. I can - and have - done better buying a crust in a supermarket and baking myself a pie. However, when I'm wanting a slice or two of pizza this place is not it. First off, they don't serve by the slice. The pizza pies they do serve are mushy, crust-wise, and their overall taste is forgettable. Pizza from Costco is tastier. They only have Pepsi, not Coke and that too fits with the "suburban pizza joint" set up. The place has a market and meets the needs of that market - i.e. family dinners out and team / troop pizza nights - pretty well. It's just not the place to go to if you're after a good 'n tasty pizza.
This one hurts a little. The parlor is so cool. It's classic family pizza night; post soccer game, after church, meet the neighbors. But our pizza was not good. Sauce tasted like ketchup. Overcooked dough. My cousin got it right saying it was reminiscent of freezer pizza. The pizza slice was a 2 out of 5. But the environment is great. It's possible that because we got mini pizzas we didn't give it a fair shake. One reviewer said that the pizza changed recently for the worse. If that's true, hopefully they go back to their roots but right now I can't recommend eating here. I do recommend hanging out there though.
Had a good time and pizza. The pint of beer was pretty delicious. Pizza toppings were fresh and we enjoyed it a lot. Its a cool place to come to on a Friday night probably.
1st time at this location. Not busy this day. Paid $83+ for Medium Cheese, Signature Pizza Italiano, Jumbo Mozzarella Sticks, 2 Caesar salads and 2 soda drinks. Pizza was about 6 outta 10 dough tasted like a lot of yeast/beer. Toppings on the Signature Pizza were fresh. Salad came in a plastic container with dressing and croutons on the side. Self serve soda machine. Mozzarella Sticks were cooked very well and pizza sauce good as well. Environment very old school wood bench table seating. Games to play also download Jukebox app to play music but volume was about a 2 out of 50 😆. Bar stand but I only saw tap beers.
First time here and when I called to order I was put on hold for ten minutes. I ordered the triple pepperoni large with half white sauce and half red and garlic chicken with no mushrooms add artichoke. The lady repeated the order back correctly and gave me the total $65. I was surprised at the price but figured it was worth it. When I went in to pick up my order I saw the boxes were not the same size so I asked the guy working the cashier if this was a large and he said yes and that they accidently made my order an XL and will not charge me extra. I payed and went on my way. When I got home I noticed that there was not half sauce on the pepperoni and there was mushrooms on the chicken pizza. I ate the pizza and I didn't not taste as good as it stated in the reviews. The price did not make it taste any better.... Will not be coming here again.
Need new hire, when the cat away the mouse will play, no service, run out of dough, hours later to receive simple pizza yet! only two persons eating inside med week.,, shame
Somethings changed! It has gone from my most favorite pizza for close to 50 years too likely will never buy one again. $40 for extra large two topping. Seemed more like a large. Crust was chewy and tasted stale. I realize that we live in unique times. But what a disappointment knowing how good they were for so many years. It saddens me to leave such a negative review.
This ranking should be read as a two and a half, not a two. Exactly 5 out of 10. The pizza was unfortunately the most mediocre Pizza I have ever had. Very similar to frozen pizza that you buy at the grocery store, and not quite as good as the frozen pizza you buy at Costco. The big difference is the price - the pizza at Me and Ed's is expensive, particularly for how average it is. The sauce is tasteless, the toppings are barely ordinary, and the crust has no particular texture, and thus no redeeming value. I split a medium Pizza with a friend for lunch, and it cost us 27 bucks, plus drinks. There's a lot of other places in town where you can get a way better lunch for that kind of money, including the little Thai place next to Me and Ed's. I hear that they have live music on Fridays and Saturdays, and I might go back for that, but certainly not for their overpriced, underwhelming Pizza.
I don’t know if it’s the owner giving the orders or the workers who aren’t preparing it correctly but the pizza i ate had less sauce, less cheese and less toppings. Before new owner took over each slice you pulled was filled with cheese. I went yesterday 1/19/25 and I didn’t taste the sauce it was dried hardly any cheese! I hate that the Buffalo wings come out first s everything together. I’m so disappointed! When are they going to get it right! I’m a fan since i was 4 years old I’ve been eating Me & Eds by far the worst heartbreak
Was looking forward to trying this place. The atmosphere is cool and was great for my little family. I wish you guys the best, but this pizza is gross. The cheese is waxy and the crust is somehow both too crunchy and doughy at the same time. Tried the sausage and mushrooms, neither had any flavor at all. Honestly can't believe how bad our pizza was. Oh, the wings tasted boiled. No crunch, all flab.
First time visit wanted to try something new and saw this place mentioned on Lakewood Community page. Have to say the pizza was pretty good although we waited for over 30 minutes for food before I had to ask about it. I was then told oh it was ready and coming soon. Pizza came without our cinnamon bites which we waited another 30 min. For. Again had to ask for them. At this time I get no apology, was told this was normal service. We will not be returning.
food was undercooked (45+ mins wait, after being told it was 30 mins) for 2 personal pizzas. Jennifer (blonde/brown hair, short lady) was NOT helpful. She refused to cook the pizza correctly.(staff told me that’s how they cook it) she told me “not to give her an attitude” however after waiting 45+ mins & receiving undercooked food twice I think I’m allowed to be upset. We ended up getting a refund, but I will never come back to this location. I used to work for a me n Ed’s & this is not how we treated customers. There’s much better pizza around, the customer service is very poor, as well as the quality of food.
I wouldn't even give one star, but had to to continue. We went on New Years eve and received the worst service. They were rude to us, completely disorganized, not helpful, and refused service to part of our party because were were close to there closing time. BUT continued to take delivery orders on the phone. The salad was old, crackers stale, asked for more and let them know and they gave me an attitude. The pizza was ok. Not what it used to be. What happened to this place!
My sister bought 3 different boxes of pizza for a party and it was the worst pizza I've ever had. The sauce didn't taste fresh at all and was over seasoned. The crust was thin, dry and lacked flavor. There wasn't enough cheese on the pizza. The ratio of ingredients to crust was so off. Not a single slice of pizza was good. It reminded me of one of those frozen microwaveble pizzas. Definitely not recommending this place.
I came for a taste of home and left with a taste of someone's hair. I grew up with Me-n-Eds in Visalia so I thought of trying the one here in LB, hoping for a familiar taste of some comfort food. Instead I received the vomit inducing taste of several long hairs in my pizza which ruined everything. SO DISGUSTING!!!
Ordered thick crispy crust signature XL pizza but it turned out rubbery and it looks like its burnt or an old crust made long before we ordered. What a waste.
The store is full of lazy people. Called in today to get an order done and they picked up the phone took my information placed me on a hold and then a woman got on the phone and said that they couldn’t take my phone order but I could place an order online for pick up or delivery. She spent more time explaining that to me than it would have taken for her to get my order the last time I ordered there they got my order completely wrong and sent me a pizza with just pineapple on it. Unfortunately, I like their food so I will keep having to deal with dumb people. To top it off, my wife called from her phone minutes after this call and placed a delivery order with no issues. I will be finding out who to talk to about this HORRIBLE experience.
Ordered pizza on 11/6/25 at 11:00 a.m on phone when they opened. Drove 25 min. to pick it up. Got there to hear from 3 employees they had not seen my order. One finally admitted he had taken the order, but my order slip was sitting on counter unseen/unfilled. No pizza for me. No honesty, apology, nor admission till I pressed hard. Left empty handed. Horrible first impression. First time there and last as well.
