Excellent customer service, food was great and very affordable prices. The atmosphere and live music were awesome. We sat at the bar and Viri was one of the best hostess who took care of us. Definitely I will come back.

I was driving through the area and noticed this place... very appealing with its large patio. Went inside and was quickly greeted and served. Friendly and accommodating staff. Very clean and a great scent of the food cooking in the kitchen. This got my appetite rumbling. I ordered the shrimp cocktail with callo. Omaiga...the party of wonderful flavors and textures in my mouth. I was ready for a cigarette if ya know what I mean. The shrimp was delicious and that sauce! I must know that secret 🤤. The callo melts in your mouth...if you have not tried it I don't only recommend it but I insist! All washed down with a cold and refreshing hand crafted michelada and of course agua de pepino. As I was getting ready to leave I caught the wonderful aroma of someone else's dish coming out. I don't know what it was but oh boy next time I'm back in town I will definitely find out. This is now my go to place for fresh and delicious Mexican mariscos.

BEST SUSHI EVER 100% recommended we order mango sushi and baja roll. soo good every nice restaurant and amazing staff.

The food and drinks were perfect. There was a lot of space to eat comfortably. My husband ordered a Michelada to drink and for food he ordered the campenchada cocktail. He was impressed. I ordered the chicken fajitas to eat and they were perfect. The lemon Margarita I finished was very satisfying. My kiddo ate the chicken nuggets and fries and thought they were delicious. My teenager had the Sushi and couldn’t keep her chopsticks down.

I read some of the negative reviews for this place, but I wanted to try it for myself. Honestly, I thought the service was wonderful! Our server was very attentive and really cared about our experience. She engaged with us frequently and even wanted to know our opinion on aspects of the menu and the business. The tacos were delicious and fresh, which is really important when you’re talking about seafood. There was a vibrancy to the environment and the live music made it feel like we were in TJ for the night. I really liked it. I will be going back!

We arrived about 730pm Ordered shrimp ceviche 2 micheladas and chefs sushi roll and a taco governador. We enjoyed our food and the servings were good portions. They had a dj playing great music. Overall we had a good time and we'll be back

Very nice little place with good live music and good food. The bartender Maryana has excellent customer service. She makes sure that you are taken care of very attentive. Will definitely be back. Beer super cold too.

But if I’m grading, I’m grading. It’s hard to maintain perfection in a dine in setting. Juicy fish and shrimp tacos. Chowed down 4 big tacos with the delicious salsa that comes w the chips. If I was paying. I would have definitely grabbed 6. Next time. Sigh….. next time.

Great food and great service. Everyone was nice and friendly even the bands playing!!! My family had a blast and we were a party of 15!! Definitely recommend this place to try ito it ! 🥳

We were there on a Sunday without much going on, and we ate outside, so atmosphere doesn't mean much on my review. We ate on the patio with our dog. It was a lovely evening out, and they were very helpful getting my dog her own water. The food was amazing! The service was superb. Great place to go!

Me and my husband came to try el cata that’s new in lemon grove for the first time tonight and everything was amazing from beginning to end. The environment was very clean, organized , fun and inviting. Marian was our server this evening and she was very attentive, had a positive attitude and gave some good suggestions. They have a few fun claw games to play in which we won a small keychain and there’s a chance to find a hidden key to win the prize in the lock box! They have such a good happy hour from 2-6 where it’s 2 for 1 16 oz beers and they even offer IPA’s on this 2 for 1 list!!!!! They have daily specials and offer a good selection on the menu - on the weekends they offer live music. We would def recommend this place and will be back!! And to top it off they are padres fans !!! During games they offer the happy hour pricing!! Thank you el cata lemon grove - we will be back!!!!

Clean friendly atmosphere with great food. Happy hour runs from 2-6 Monday-F and whenever the Padres are playing. Can’t go wrong. Gotta respect a new business doing their best in our neighborhood. I hope it becomes one of the staples close to home. I Came in for a quick beer and a bite while watching the games. Marisela was very accommodating. It was an awesome time. Try their sushi jalapeño poppers for and appetizers 🔥🔥 thank you guys, look forward to coming back.

Sushi not bad. The Mexican seafood and regular food not very good. I had chicharon de pescado and it was very fishy smell and tast. The dishes are over priced.

Food and service was good, especially the birria taco. Ordered a margarita and asked if it was a wine cocktail, but she told us it was tequila. It turned out to be a sake-based tequila. Music was way too loud. Place is big and there is lots of seating.

Came tonight with family in a party of 4. Even if Google says reservations, they will reject the reservation immediately. So walk ins. My fiancé & I arrived 15 minutes before our other 2 family members. We ordered waters, never came. Family came, we ordered waters again. Food came, no water. We ordered waters again, nothing. Fiancé asked for extra tortilla for his food & we ordered waters again, finally waters came. I don't know why it took 4 tries to get water. Felt ignored. We also ordered 4 meals & 3 came out, but 1 delayed for so long. We liked the food, but felt dismissed as other tables got better service. As the one paying for everyone, I didn't tip as I didn't like the service. $4.50 for water too was mhm okay I see you.

The food was good, but service was absolutely horrible. There was only one other table in the whole restaurant with people and it took us 45 minutes to get our food. Was not a good vibe.
