Cello is a pure symphony of wonderful flavors . Every single dish is made with seasonal ingredients and love by the chef Ryan. Beth was delightful on helping us with our food.

"You haven't been to Cello!" exclaimed my friend (who is also a chef and major foodie). "The space that, during covid, was a bunch of crazy stuff and changed their name all the time? No I haven't because of that." I responded. She told me that, yes, that was the space but that it had new owners and was a legit, great new restaurant. Reservations were made and there we were. I love good food but don't consider myself a food snob. I just like good food without attitude...but enough about me. Cello is now my favorite restaurant in Lenox. Hands down. Every dish was actually exciting. The flavors and presentation have a "wow". Amanda, our server, was perfect. The atmosphere is not pretentious (thank god!). We ate amazing food, had great conversation and left very, very happy. Check out their menu and, if nothing catches your fancy, check it again the next week. They change it up every single week. Amazing.

Contemporary American restaurant with great food and service. We recently dined here before a concert nearby. According to our server, it seemed like we struck gold with our reservation. We booked about two weeks ago, but the manager mentioned that slots are almost completely full months in advance. Coming from Boston, the menu initially didn’t seem that interesting—it was mostly contemporary American with strong Italian and French influences. But compared to the usual diner and pub fare in Lenox, this place was a huge upgrade. We kicked off the evening with the Mushroom Toast and the Roasted Carrots. The roasted carrots, spiced with chili crisps, brought a nice heat, but it was perfectly balanced by the vanilla yogurt and pickled broccoli stems. The mushroom toast, meanwhile, got an umami boost from the bacon, which paired well with the more subtle flavors of the mushroom and garlic confit. For our entrées, we chose the Bass, Hanger Steak, and Fusilli. Although these were labeled as “larger plates,” the portions were on the smaller side, so we ended up sharing all three. Instead of overwhelming each dish with too many ingredients, they kept the toppings simple and focused on the sauces. The Bass was paired with a creamy corn purée that complemented the fish beautifully. The Fusilli, coated in tomato marinara, initially seemed unassuming with just a sprinkle of shaved parmesan. It almost resembled a simple mac and cheese, yet the sweetness and umami of the marinara, enhanced with a drizzle of basil sauce, made it surprisingly addictive. The Hanger Steak was solid, though the pickled blueberries were a bold choice that didn’t quite work for me. I preferred the simpler pairing with the onion soubise and mushrooms, which allowed the steak’s natural flavors to shine. Cello might not push the envelope with innovation, but what it does, it does exceptionally well. It’s easily the top choice for refined dining in the area, so if you’re planning a visit here, I highly recommend getting a reservation well in advance.

We came in with no reservation, and luckily was able to sit at the bar and order food. The owner and chef could not have been friendlier. Gluten-Free and Vegan friendly. Chef came out to discuss ingredients and was very accommodating. Excellent food, service and atmosphere.

Where else would I want to spend my days & evenings off eating except at Cello? It’s an incredibly inviting environment that one can appreciate while traveling solo or with a friend. Enjoying a Sunday brunch with family, we started with these beautifully buttered BMB semolina toasts as a shareable plate….lightly salted, with love.💛 I personally ordered their Eggs Benedict to follow with a side of THE most crispy and juiciest homefries to taste. Not to mention, the eggs benny were served with a nicely thick, fresh cut of bacon… 🤤 To cap our own individual courses off, we shared an order of Chef Ryan’s homemade chocolate chip cookies. ‘Cuz that is how all Sunday brunches should be capped off. Come and taste the comfort for yourselves, Sunday brunch &/or an evening dinner!! Your heart and stomach will feel happy. Thank you Cello Family 💛

My husband and I were a staying in Lenox for a romantic Berkshires getaway from NYC and got a recommendation to try out Cello, and it truly was a piece of heaven. A true masterpiece of superb food, a creative and meticulously curated menu from the wonderful chef, beautiful and fresh ingredients sourced from local farms, impeccable service from Cody and crew, and a reminder on how food truly can create lovely conversation, connections and lasting warm memories. We absolutely LOVED Cello and feel so lucky to have gotten such a special treat and dinning experience. The whole meal was an experience of exceptional food that I truly just couldn’t get enough of. I fell in love with a Spaghetti dish so much I had to speak to the talented chef to give my compliments and to dish on how I planned to try to recreate the memorable pasta dish lol. He came to our table to give me pointers on how to replicate it because it was warm and hearty, filled with a simple yet strategic ingredient list. And the icing on the cake was Cody our incredibly knowledgeable, funny and sweet server managed to wrangle up the last dessert serving for their Drop Donuts (made with no bake cheesecake and braised pear) that will forever remain in my dreams as one of the most magical desserts I have ever had the opportunity to try. Bravo Bravo Bravo!!!!! Cello you forever have our hearts here in Lenox! Run don’t walk to Cello, as it is a true gem of a restaurant and staff.

Fabulous experience, with delicious wine and great recommendations from the waitress. We especially appreciated the free tasting of a rare Red wine.

The food is incredible and the service is awesome! Great cocktails and wine selection and a super relaxed atmosphere. If you’re in the Berkshires go here! Go here if you’re not in the Berkshires. Just go here.

Cello is hands down my favorite restaurant in all of CT and MA!! I have been here twice now, it was love at first bite! Not only is the food absolutely divine but the staff is incredibly kind and knowledgeable about their ever changing menu!! I will sing Cello’s praises forever, they have my heart ❤️

From the moment you walk into Cello you know it's going to be a great experience. Kim (owner and GM) greeted us with a friendly smile, just like seeing an old friend. Her contagious smile and laughter brings warmth and great vibes to this one of a kind restaurant. We sat at the counter to watch the chefs do their thing in a very clean and organized open kitchen. Watching Ryan (owner and Chef) calmly and professionally expo is so much fun to watch. He's also very engaging with all his guests who are lucky enough to get counter seating. The whole staff follows Kim and Ryan's vibe and are phenomenally hospitable. Atmosphere...wonderful and warm. The cocktails...amazing. The food...outstanding. We can't wait to come back to the Berkshires and will absolutely be visiting Cello again and again.

The dessert was like a poetic work of art, with each individual ingredient complementing the other to form the essence of sweet perfection. Ryan, Kim, Beth and the other members of Cello were welcoming and kind. They are masters of their craft. I'd recommend getting a reservation because this place fills up. We were lucky to be able to walk in and get a seat at the bar. I hope the onion rings are still on the menu the next time we go!

Had the meal of a lifetime at Cello. Food, service, and atmosphere were all impeccable. My wife has some allergies and the kitchen was incredibly accommodating. I loved the cocktail menu, had a great balance of flavors and a variety of spirits. The food came out quickly and every single dish was prepared skillfully with great attention to detail. Highly recommend going here for any occasion, perfect for a special date night or just simply a delicious meal where you can trust that you will be delighted no matter what you order.

What an incredible restaurant! Kim and Ryan Boya are running one of the best restaurants in the world, not just Lenox. Imagine delicious and creative farm-to-table dishes that wow _and_ satisfy ... the menu is ever-evolving with each season so you'll always feel like you're trying an amazing restaurant for the first time. The owners couldn't be nicer and more welcoming. They go above and beyond not only to deliver amazing food but also provide amazing hospitality. The wine selection is perfectly curated to pair with the food and you'll appreciate the low markup!

Great server and a really nice meal. Highlight corn bread, salad greens, and the overall quality of ingredients. They fit me in on a Saturday night as a walk-in and set up a table on the patio with a heater. Would’ve enjoyed a bar seat for one, but the waitress attention and service was appreciated.

Lovely seasonal menu. The confit onion rings were pure silk and crunch, the bolognese rich yet light, and the cornbread.. yum. A tiny feast of highlights—five stars, happily.

Had the pleasure of dining at Cello 8/9. Started with the cornbread with maple butter, which was delightful and had the perfect texture. Next, I had the peach salad, which was a perfect marriage of flavors and texture. I am already wondering when I can eat this salad again as it was that good. I rounded out with the pork chop; the brine led to the most immaculate pork chop I’ve eaten. I also really enjoyed that it was paired with a curry sauce and fresh beets. Overall, Cello provided warm ambiance, incredible food that shined from the freshness and craft of the chefs, and an unbeatable experience. Can’t wait dine here again!

My wife and I tend to share various plates. We had the rigatoni, Bolognese, the pan sheared trout and spaghetti squash soup. Each dish was better than the one before. We had the spaghetti squash as an appetizer even though it’s a small plate order. It was plenty and we took some to go. We’ve been in the area for four days and this is by far the best restaurant we’ve eaten now. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful dining experience while staying in Lenox! + The restaurant was full on a summer Monday night, with people coming in throughout our dining time. + The menu was a great balance of not being too farfetched and having unique twists on popular American dishes. Solid flavors, great execution. + The staff was excellent and friendly. Made us want to order more food and wine and sit for a while longer - which is exactly what we did. - The restaurant is a bit cramped. We sat at the kitchen counter which I think ended up being more comfy than at a table.

Amazing dinner in the Berkshires! Front of house staff was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I ordered a few things to share and the kitchen was kind enough to split the dishes for us to make things easier than shuffling plates around. Everything was timed incredibly well so that our next dosh came out within just a couple of minutes of us finishing the previous one. The corn soup is a must try, fantastic way to start the dinner. The grilled peach salad with tomatoes and burrata was simple and delicious so that you could really appreciate the freshness of the ingredients. The chickpea panisse was probably my favorite dosh all around. Really great flavors and execution. The cavatelli was fantastic, as well. Super soft, pillowy pasta with a delicious sauce and the subtle summer truffle flavor just put it over the top. Wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often, but we’ll definitely be back. Congrats to Chef Boya and his wife on an incredible restaurant! P.S. Absolutely make a reservation because it’s a pretty small place and you will certainly regret not eating here while you’re in the area.

Cozy restaurant. I didn’t have to wait for a table, but I think it was because I went on a weekday on the off season. Small bar available for cocktails and wine. Food all tasted great with good portion size. I really wanted to try dessert but I was so full.

S

Absolutely wonderful little restaurant. Seasonal menu. Exquisite, unique dishes that were beautifully plated. The service was impeccable. They accommodated our specific dietary needs (gluten and lactose). You will not be rushed as each dish is cooked to order - if you sit at the bar, you can watch the masterful chef. Beer and wine available and unique nonalcoholic creations like Rhubarb Strawberry Fizz and Maple Lemonade Recommend making a reservation if possible as seating is limited and as popularity grows it may be difficult to walk in. We had no reservations and they were able to accommodate us- it was also a Thursday. The menu was extremely varied from barbecued ribs, chicken, seafood and salads. Menu is available on line.

Absolutely, one of, if not the, best meal we have ever had in a restaurant! Everything was perfectly prepared and beautifully executed! The quality of the food was exceptional. Cello’s chef is clearly incredibly talented and creative. The front of the house was attentive and responsive without being overbearing. We cannot wait to come back to Cello very soon for another delicious meal.

Cannot say enough about how incredible our experience was! I hosted a holiday team dinner here, and Kim went out of her way to make sure our experience was exceptional. The food was phenomenal! The cocktails and wine options are spectacular and everything from the ambience and special attention was perfection. Cannot wait for my next opportunity to dine with them again. And my team is already asking to return for our next dinner. A little slice of heaven in the mountains! Thank you so much for all of the special attention and absolutely amazing evening!

Unbelievable meal. Everything we ordered was flawless. Best rigatoni bolognese we’ve ever had. The cornbread is a must. The flank steak was perfectly seasoned and plated. Kim is so sweet; her thoughtful suggestions and warm personality made our dining experience even more wonderful. This restaurant deserves a Michelin star.

Based on our friend's glowing recommendation, we dined here two nights ago. Their reco was spot on. We had an outstanding dinner --everything we ordered was made to perfection and with a twist to elevate the meal to an exceptional level. The place is small and cozy but the noise level was very manageable. This place is going to become a definite MUST dinner place on our visits to the Berkshires.

My wife and I had an outstanding dinner at Cello tonight. Great food and great people. The cornbread with maple butter (to die for), halibut and spaccatelli all delicious. Do not skip dessert...chocolate mousse with smoked vanilla ice cream, bourban caramel, toasted fluff and cocoa nib crumbles.....are you kidding me!!!!

We were there on 9/24 to celebrate my love wife’s birthday. She thought I had made reservations and I thought she had made them. We called restaurant and Kim, was able to fit us in. Food was excellent as was the service. Kim made my wife’s birthday special as she could eat great food at a beautiful location. This place is not to be missed but please remember to make a reservation. Try the trout it was delicious.

Can’t say enough about this fantastic little restaurant … we had to return a second night to try other items on this varied and seasonal menu. The staff are welcoming, friendly, engaging, and fun-loving! We sat at the bar and were able to witness the magic of the chef and line cooks-it was like dinner and a show! All plates made to order and offered an explosion of flavors. Love that they had appetizers, small plates, and large plates so that we could mix and match to meet our specific interests, and they offered to split several items so that we could both enjoy a taste of the dishes … they were super accommodating. The casual and comfortable atmosphere made for two perfect evenings! Don’t miss this Lenox gem!!

I’m just about two months post visiting this restaurant and I still think about the corn soup and the cornbread. I came here to make sure that I finally cross off leaving a review for such a wonderful experience. My husband and I came to the area to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We weren’t lucky enough to be able to get a table here the first night but managed to snag a reservation on the 2nd night. IT WAS SO WORTH IT. Everything we tasted left us wanting just one more bite. The drinks were solid. The chef and his wife (heck, the staff in general) were incredibly sweet, vibing out with us as we shared our common woes with working together as husband and wife. It’s evident that they’ve got something really wonderful figured out and I can’t wait to visit them again on our next trip.

We are so lucky to have a restaurant like Cello in The Berkshires! We love the open kitchen! We had seats at the bar so we could see all of the action! Kudos to the chef! 👨🏻‍🍳. Our meals were all delicious. Everyone ordered something different and we honestly enjoyed them all! The front of the house is lively and fun! Either way you can’t go wrong. Everything - absolutely everything about Cello was amazing! So much so that we went 3 nights in a row- literally!!! It was an unforgettable experience! This husband-and-wife-owned gem offers not only top-of-the-line, fresh, and beautifully crafted dishes but also an intimate and engaging atmosphere. One of the highlights was sitting right in front of the open kitchen, where the chef personally explained each dish as he prepared it. Watching the artistry behind the food made the experience even more special. Every bite was bursting with flavor, showcasing the quality and care put into each ingredient. Beyond the incredible food, the service was impeccable. The warmth and passion of the owners truly set Cello apart—making us feel not just like customers but like welcomed guests in their home. If you’re looking for an outstanding dining experience with exceptional food and a personal touch, Cello is a must-visit! I can’t wait to return!

I had the sweetest experience at Cello! While traveling for work, I stopped in for dinner and randomly discovered that the owners used to live in the same tiny town in Vermont that I was visiting from. Everyone working there was so sweet and great to talk with since I was dining solo at the bar. Their menu changes seasonally, but everything I ate was perfect. I’ll absolutely be back next time I’m in the area. Lovely people and great food. Thank you so much Ryan, Kim, and Beth! You were all so good to me!

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cello. We actually stopped in just for a cocktail, but ended up cancelling our dinner reservation at a different restaurant and stayed at Cello for dinner because we loved the atmosphere and friendly . then decided to stay for dinner. We sat at the chef’s counter so got to watch the chefs in action and smell all of the creations coming out of the kitchen. The items we selected from the menu were culinary delights. Delicious and beautiful presentation. The cocktails were creative and delicious too! My friend didn’t eat dairy and the chef was helpful in adapting the menu to fit her dietary needs. We highly recommend Cello! 😋A true gem!!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Cello and couldn’t be happier with our choice! From the complimentary anniversary drinks to the incredible Cello Spritz, every detail was perfect. The Cornbread with Maple Butter was unforgettable, and the Bolognese tasted like homemade pasta straight from grandma’s kitchen. The chocolate mousse for dessert was an explosion of flavor. Everything was phenomenal, and Penelope, our server, made the night even better. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you to the team at Cello for making our anniversary so special!

Wow, everything about our experience was exceptional. We reserved a spot at the kitchen counter to get a little show with our meal. Ryan, Kim, and staff were cheerful and welcoming. Other reviews convinced us to get the cornbread, which was the best I’ve ever had, crusted to perfection and hard to not order a second. Another standout was honeynut squash which had lots of complex notes like poblano crema, fried oyster mushrooms, and garlic chili. We watched it come out of the oven, basted in a pan, then meticulously plated. A lot of those came out of the kitchen. Everything we had was masterfully executed, and watching all the dishes being prepared, we wish we had room to order more! Amazing service as well and we got to chat with the owners. Thanks Cello for a perfect anniversary dinner!

We had a great meal at this cozy little spot in Lenox! All of the food was fresh and unique. We had the carrots and sourdough toast to start, then the fusilli pasta in mushroom sauce and the honey nut squash. Portions were modest so we were happy with each ordering our pasta and then the larger plate of squash to share as well. Service was great and overall, it was really nice meal.

L

The food was so amazing that I was lost in the flavor. Every person must have the corn bread! If you don't like cabbage you will love their based cabbage! Kim the proprietor is an amazing person and makes the environment one you never want to leave.

Attended for the Valentine's Day 6-course set menu and have to say: what a truly amazing evening! The food, the drinks, and the service were all immaculate. Really, it was the kind of experience we travel to NYC for, so glad to have something this special much closer to home. Don't hesitate to book the kitchen counter; watching the kitchen team work through the service made a great experience even better. Getting a glimpse into the way things operated and seeing the dishes come together was very memorable. Only feedback or request: especially for special events like this, and given the emphasis on curated beverage selections, a wine or beverage pairing option would bring things to the next level.

s
stephen ponchak

Kim Boya is the consummate host and her husband Ryan a culinary superstar! The confit onion rings are by far the best I've ever had (and I judge places by their onion rings) and every entree is perfectly executed. The braised cabbage with the trout was so tender and flavorful that it deserved its own dish. Sometimes I like to sit at the bar with friends and watch the chefs dance through the dishes. It is cozy, welcoming, loving, and much much better than anywhere else in Lenox!

The food was interesting and gradually grew on me. The staff was attentive, warm and considerate. The seating was very cramped and there was insufficient insulation against the freezing weather outside. I was cold and uncomfortable. However, my company really enjoyed the food and ambiance.

Not likely to return. Very tight fit in some areas. Bench seat uncomfortable. Food was good, fair pricing, some unexpected touches, but nothing left us wanting more. Wait staff dressed too casual, didn't deliver anything elevated. For the buzz and presentation, overall disappointing.

from the moment we arrived it was a bad experience - crowded and i had put in the comments that i had someone in a walker and they put us at the farthest table from the door for some reason. they were very distracted and didn’t even offer to help us get seated i actually had to ask which table. then when i sat down there was dead rotting flowers in a vase so i knew it was going to be bad. the cornbread was fine it was flat and one dimensional and overly sweet the salad was actually quite good so that was the best part pasta was very ordinary and had bones in it from the short rib and somewhat greasy but the worst part was the dessert - it was a piece of chocolate cake that was dry and crusty and nasty and every element of it was bad it had some globs of overly sweet frosting an extremely sour and acidic berry sauce and then just plain whipped cream. a hostess cupcake was more moist and delicious and the dessert was 16$ 😒 very disappointing i had high hopes from the other reviews but don’t waste your time

I had high hopes for Cello, but definitely would say for the price and experience… I am quite disappointed. To start, the service was awkward. The server was apologizing to the table next to us for how slow service was, and came off frazzled and under rested/no enthusiasm when talking to us. I don’t know what lead him to feeling this way but it was definitely noticeable and made the fine dining experience feel subpar at best. Then there was the food. The onion rings were great, but they lightly splatter on the sauce like it’s a garnish rather than an actual dip. We had to ask for more. The salad was literally just salad covered in vinegar — for $17 you’d expect so much more from the plate. Then there were the ribs. Delicious but dry beyond comprehension. The appetizers were over all okay/fine, held up in their own right. But then came the mains and this is where most of the disappointment kicked in. For $25 I paid for the driest, lackluster and uninspired serving of butternut squash that should’ve been offered as a side, not main course. 3 tiny pieces with burnt, inedible tips and fried garlic that could break your teeth. The steak was good I’ll give it to them, but bland. Going back to what the server was saying about there being problem with service on Saturday night… you could tell. And it was extremely disappointing to have such high hopes for such little in return. All to pay $200 for a very special occasion at a subpar restaurant. I’d like to believe we simply went on the wrong night ❤️ I hate leaving bad reviews for restaurants and never do, but if a regular person is going to pay $200 in this economy… they deserve to know what theyre walking into. I still have high hopes for Cello and wish them continued growth!
