Fantastic food, building, atmosphere and service. Love it
best chocolate chip cookie I think ever
Worth the short detour off 90 for a hearty, delicious sandwich.
great spot for a summer lunch or breakfast...love it.
Excellent food! Two thumbs up!!
The owner, when we asked for help finding a taxi service for one of our party needing to go to Albany train station, arranged for a longtime friend of his, who was dining at the cafe, to give her a ride. Above and beyond!
Wonderful rustic decor, excellent food, superb service. Limited hours in winter, reservations recommended.
Great food in a warm community setting. Changing displays by local artists are a plus.
Very cute place, courteous service The breakfasts are tasty (especially the French toast) and coffee is good.
Great spot. Always super friendly and the food is on point.
BEST blueberry french toast ever! Great fast & friendly service.
Stopped in for the first time today. Food is great, people are friendly, look forward to another visit
Best sandwiches in the area. Well worth the trip.
Absolutely devastated this gem closed. What a loss for the community
I had made reservations for my wife and I for our anniversary, I'm very glad I did. The establishment is a charming place, so too was the staff. We were greeted by the owner, and the fare was quite good! We will return. 👍👍
Food is always great here and I mean always. Brian, the owner, is always attentive and helpful. Their bacon must be sourced from the premier supplier. I'm a bacon lover that has tried variations all over the country but I've yet to have any better than That found at Old Chatham's Country Store.
We went for a friday night dinner and the food was superb. Tip top cocktails. Friendly staff and cozy ambiance. This is a gem for the area. Highly recommended
Excellent find! Out of our way but well worth it, good quality, friendly service 🤗
Whether eating breakfast or lunch or dining at dinner, I have never had a bad meal here. On the contrary, the food is a cut above other area restaurants, from Albany to Hudson. If you're nearby, give it a try. You won't be disappointed!
Great cycling rest point. Great coffee and snacks to stay and go. Rotating dinner menu and friendly crowd. Can’t be missed!
Delicious fresh food and a great wine selection in a casual historic cafe. Well worth the visit!
Cute place with a cafe, small store and seating space. The sandwiches and baked goods were delicious!
Sandwiches are amazing full of meat. Strongly recommend
Excellent food, served with warmth and good spirits in a calm, inviting space. Couldn’t get much better!
What a hidden gem!!! Superb food, friendly service, cute storefront and comfortable indoor or garden seating. We stopped here on a roadtrip because we needed somewhere to take a break with our kids. Hands down, the BEST sandwiches we have ever had in our lives, simple recipes done exactly right, and also the best French fries we have had in years (?!?!). The indoor seating area is spacious and comfortable - it was a gorgeous day so we opted for outdoor seating, and we loved the fenced garden area where our daughter could safely play while we ate. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. This is worth a stop, and perhaps even worth a major detour.
Chatham is a beautiful quaint NY town and this store reflects its feeling. Just next to a post office, there is seating outside and indoor. Deli pre packed and food to be prepared on-site that is delicious including muffins, sandwiches soups and small dishes. I love the seating in the back which is classic American rustic. Everything is so clean and there was even cards and gifts available. Would definitely want to come here again with my children. Great Cafe and breakfast/lunch stop.
This is my morning tradition. Nothing compares, when I’m in upstate. Postcard perfect cafe, with incredible food.
Stepping inside feels like a step back in time, with its rustic decor and warm ambiance. The curated groceries offer a delightful selection of local and artisanal products that make every visit a unique experience. The aroma of freshly baked goods entices you to indulge in their delectable treats. Their sandwiches and salads are a perfect blend of flavors, satisfying both health-conscious diners and those craving comfort food. With friendly staff and a serene setting, this hidden treasure is a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of rural nostalgia and culinary delights.
Old chatham country store has it all: 1. Delicious coffee 2. Creative, dynamic menu for breakfast and lunch 3. Market with both essentials and house made items like pickled vegetables, sauces, etc. 4. chill, cozy atmosphere We tried the latte, cold brew, persian eggs, cinammon toast, trout sandwich, egg sandwich, burrata, and turkey sandwich over the past weekend and everything was full of flavor and extremely fresh/high quality.
Something so basic, a chicken salad, turned into an exceptional dish. I didn't want it to end! Absolute superb flavor. Beautiful, comfortable interior with very friendly staff. Thrilled to have this country store back up and running with these wonderful owners. You've added so much more to our community, thank you!
Enjoyable lunch stop while motorcycle touring. My sandwich had the most ham I've ever scene on a sandwich... and it was delicious. Thumbs up.

This is a great place for breakfast. The service and staff here is very friendly. It has a country store in the front and a sit down restaurant place in the back where you can grab a nice meal. Their hit chocolates and coffees are superb and their hot apple cider is great in the winter. For breakfast I would recommend getting the breakfast burrito and for lunch I would recommend getting the Columbia county roast beef sandwich.
All scratch kitchen with familiar and unique flavors. Gourmand pantry product selection for your home, great frozen meals made in house at a good price. Try the Gluten-Free Maple Crème cookies from the pastry case, you will not be disappointed they are sooo good! I am unsure what the cookie base is but it appears to include chia and flax seed so you can feel a little less guilty about the dessert ;)
I this has been my favorite breakfast and lunch restaurant since the moment it opened. I flew in from Los Angeles after being gone for four years and that place hasn't missed a beat! Brian and his staff are just great. The food is farm fresh, perfectly prepared and beautifully plated. Quaint, cozy country charm with quality that you'd expect from a big city.
Had a wonderful dinner to celebrate an anniversary. Between the friendly waitstaff, and the curated menu, we enjoyed our dinner immensely. Will definitely return.
This place has been GREAT every time I have come. Truly delicious food, comfortable and well spaced seating, nice balance of dining space, cafe and mercantile. Dinner menu was sophisticated and interesting, the lunch fare also outstanding - probably the best BLT I have ever eaten, delicious French onion soup, generous salads, perfect fries. I am a huge fan - wish I lived closer.
A perfect summer meal in a gorgeous garden - when we arrived we discovered their daily menu had few vegetarian options so we asked if the chef could make some simple grilled vegetable and instead he made 7 exquisite, world class veggie dishes - our server told us he took it as in inspiring challenge. while the beef and shellfish dishes enjoyed by half the table were perfectly executed (in facvt, the clam broth made we swoon in joy) the vegetarians were the winners (and graciously shared their summer bounty with the whole table)
What a delightful cafe! Fresh airy ambience! The food is wonderful! I especially loved the meatloaf sandwich and the cinnamon toast! The turkey club and the brisket sandwich were so good! Each of the baked goods we have tried is more delicious than the last- the shortbread melts in your mouth, the chocolate chip cookies divine and the blackberry cream cheese handpies were beyond delicious! A favorite Sunday afternoon spot!
Thank you to Carolyn and her staff for preparing a beautiful afternoon luncheon for a celebration of my husband Herbert’s life at the store that he loved. Carolyn’s presentation was worthy of a spread in Martha Stewart’s magazine. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. The store is beautifully renovated and Carolyn and her staff were gracious and wonderful to work with.
Great little spot! The staff is so kind and service is excellent. We had the breakfast biscuit and the egg & cheese roll, both were delicious! The coffee special was also great, fresh and flavorful. Will definitely be revisiting and highly recommend stopping in :)
Amazing food, coffee, cocktails and wine selection. Owners and Staff are always friendly and warm. This is a new special hidden gem and a great local hang out spot. Also really love their evening popup dinners where they offer seasonal dishes and different themes!
Great dinner experience for our family of five. Everything was delicious, lovely atmosphere, all staff were exceptionally kind and pleasant. Highly recommend!
Every dish was delicious, this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. In addition to the amazing food, the ambience and staff were wonderful. The muscle escabeche toast and the “famous martini” were menu highlights.

Nice quaint cafe with delicious baked goods
Very popular place to start your day and have lunch.
A place to enjoy fresh coffee and piece of carrot cake.
Super great place to stop during a bike ride.
Great place for a quick but pleasant lunch. I had a turkey sandwich. It was simple and delicious as all turkey sandwiches should be.
Butternut squash soup was delicious. Turkey and bacon panenni fresh and hot.
Very unique sandwiches. Excellent high quality ingredients hence the hefty prices.
Lovely place to start our weekend away! Good food, kind people, homey feel
Food was v good - superb peach pie even in June - but v noisy to point of being hard to carry on a conversation
It is a quaint rural shop. The food is good the servers are friendly however the ordering and purchasing process is combersom
Good breakfast, nice coffee and quick service. You would struggle to find better.
I have been to OC for breakfast quite often lately while waiting for a kitchen rebuild in my home. I have to say the breakfasts are outstanding and good value for money given the quality of the food. The ingredients are superb, freshly laid and farm eggs, superb cider cooked bacon, wonderful home fries . In my experience the hardest meal to buy is a good quality breakfast
Eat in or take out. Order at the counter. Nice selection of sandwiches and salads as well as daily specials. I had the special - personal pizza and a salad. There are some food items for sale there as well
Great little charming place to grab a quick bite. Staffs are very courtesy. Our foods were a little slow because we were sitting down customer.
Quaint, but high priced.
12 bucks for a sandwich?! I suppose if you’re the only show in town you can take advantage of people like that.......
Nice little spot for breakfast lunch or dinner, but felt somewhat over priced. The veggie burger was just a bland frozen patty on a cheap hamburger buns for $10. $7 would have been appropriate. The burrito was just ok, good portion but also felt over priced at $15. I think I'd have to try some more of the menu to be fair on food review. They didn't have tap water... They said the well went dry... I'm wondering what they wash the dishes with?
I couldn't get pass the attitude of the staff. As well, should customers bus their own dishes like they do in this place?
If you want gas station coffee at twice the price and nowhere to park, then boy do I have a place for you
