Scelta puramente casuale ma molto fortunata e quindi ve la consiglio per chi passa in zona. Il ristorante ha un ampio parcheggio comodissimo perché è difficile trovare posto. Ambiente molto rilassante e familiare, specialmente se c’è bel tempo e si può mangiare fuori in terrazza. Cibo molto buono abbiamo provato antipasti di pesce di lago e tagliatelle di castagne con speck e crema al parmigiano molto molto buoni. Servizio veloce e personale cortese, alla mano. Ah tra l’altro attraversando la strada si va subito in “spiaggia”.

Bel ristorante sul lungo lago, dai sapori veri e tradizionali. Ambiente accogliente e cordiale. Servizio rapidissimo anche se non avevamo prenotato. I primi piatti erano squisiti, la pasta è fatta in casa e si sente ! I funghi porcini hanno un sapore eccezionale. I dolci sono altrettanto buoni e la cheesecake di forma conica non l'avevo mai mangiata !! Buonissima !!!! Alla fine abbiamo anche avuto dei preziosissimi consigli sulla dieta del gruppo sanguigno. Tornerò di sicuro ! E infatti siamo tornati altre quattro volte ed ogni volta è un piacere per il palato. Top !!!

Appena entrati il camino acceso ha subito scaldato l'ambiente. Quanti profumi erano presenti. Profumo di cose buone... appena entrati un grill acceso dentro il camino gigante...che dire carne ,salsicce, funghi porcini grigliavano con calma e tempi tranquilli...era la prima volta che entravano al Crotto ma ci torneremo con fiducia di ritrovare questi profumi e sapori... tutta la pasta è fresca del giorno...il profumo delle tagliatelle di castagne con funghi freschi merita il viaggio. Grazie dell'accoglienza con bollicine e crostini. E i sorrisi erano gratis...

Appena rientrati a casa dopo una cena davvero notevole. Accoglienza che ci ha fatti sentire coccolati e a casa benché fosse la prima volta che ci si andasse. Cibo davvero notevole, ogni piccolo dettaglio ha coronato un'esperienza che di certo ripeteremo. Ottimo antipasto, super i primi ed il pesce alla brace. L'apoteosi: dolci tanto buoni da magone. We found this little gem of fine Italian dining while staying in its hometown of Lierna on Lake Como. We had a large group and sampled a range of appetizers, main plates, and desserts (starting our meal with a complimentary round of prosecco a few minutes after being seated.) Service was excellent; each course was delivered to the table without long pauses between diners. The homemade pasta and grilled meats were obviously prepared with love and great skill. And the kitchen is in view of every table, a rare treat if you enjoy watching the chef in action. Desserts were lovely, and served with the perfect liqueur pairing. We asked for a wine recommendation and got a great tip on a locally made red wine, which impressed everyone at the table. Sorry, no pictures tonight, so just imagine a meal that looks every bit as good as it tastes. I highly recommend trying Il Crotto for an elegant night out.

Amazing experience! The place is really beautiful and cozy, with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very kind, friendly and joyful — they made me feel so welcome. The food was excellent! Wonderful restaurant, so glad we went there. Excellent service, they were so attentive. They even made homemade gluten free bread for one of our party with a gluten intolerance. The restaurant it's a family business for ages and it is very nice. Normally, in Italy, if you go in this type of restaurant, for sure the experience will be a very nice one. We came from Romania and most of the staff is from Romania or speaks romanian, which felt very familiar. The food is fresh and delicious and they also serve very good wine. The atmosphere was very pleasant, just like the service. Lady Coca recommended to us the best dishes that would fit our preferences and she was perfectly right, we enjoyed every single bit of pasta. The overall experience was a nice one, so we recommend it 10/10. For sure we will be back here next time when visit Como.

This place was wonderful. First of all, They have a huge parking lot with shade! The food was delicious. We started with mixed salads( fresh and flavorful), my husband had a mixed beef plate, and I had the salmon ( the best salmon I had in veryyyyy a long time). Our toddler had a linguini al burro( no idea wht kids' pasta is always soooo good). For dessert, we shared a Tiramisu and a chocolate cake. Our server was super sweet to our baby! We loved this place! ❤️

Best restaurant in the area. If you are seeing this review, don't think twice and go eat there. First of all, the entire staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was very cozy, perfect for couples, friends and families. We took the waiter's recommendations, since he is the chef's husband. We ordered grilled mushroom as an appetizer, and for the main courses, grilled salmon trout and pasta with mushrooms. Lastly, we ordered coffee with tiramisu which was very tasty. Overall, everything was delectable, cooked to perfection.

Sad that we discovered il crotto so late in our holiday, truly the best meal in Italy! We sat at a table next to the grill, watched our food getting cooked and conversed with who I assumed was the owner. Was given grilled bread and Prosecco, the quality of ingredients is beautiful. Amazing authentic food, fish from the lake was tasty and the pasta is to die for, the perfect al denté chew. The staff were so friendly even with our limited Italian vocabulary ! I don’t understand how they do not have 5 stars, we will be back on our last night. Would recommend especially : chestnut tagliatelle, seafood mixed grill, lake cake (everything else is great too)

Fantastic place, delicious food, dedicated and welcoming staff. We had food there a couple of times with the aim of tasting great Italian dishes. The meals we had very tasty and well made, delicate variances from each of the ingredients, where small thing has its place and adds to the experience. Simple, delightful and just great taste. If you happen to be in the area, reserve and try the experience for yourself. We will be there again and again when we return to the area.

If there were more stars to give, Il Crotto would get them all from me. Il Crotto does not offer food, they offer you an entire experience. Everything about the place, the people and the food was perfect. From the moment we walked in we were greeted, seated and served with so much warmth, that I didn’t want to leave. The food was so delicious that I felt the need to slow down so that I can enjoy every bite of it. I truly recommend this restaurant to anyone. There you will find the best pasta, and then nicest people. Thank you to everyone in Il Crotto for making our time there so memorable. I will be coming back 🫶🏻

Best restaurant experience I’ve had in Italy! It’s an family run restaurant and everything is homemade. They bring you sparkling wine and bread in olive oil right away. The pasta was freshly made and the best I’ve had. Fish was also perfect cooked! For dessert we had the chocolate mousse, 2 different parfaits and the Tiramisu. They were the best we’ve had in our entire life’s! Highly recommend the 3 mousse and the parfait.

We found this restaurant by coincidence and pleasantly surprised! The personnel are very friendly and welcoming. We received welcome drinks when we arrived and had delicious home made pasta. The area is also very beautiful! If you walk down you will find a nice beach (300 m from the restaurant) to sunbathe and swim (nice for kids!). We had a 2,5 km hike uphill and had beautiful view of Lake Como. Definitely recommend to visit.

Inizio col dire che c'è un parcheggio ombreggiato, dove poter sistemare il mezzo di locomozione, e in questa zona non è poco. Abbiamo pranzato in terrazza una domenica di agosto, la temperatura ormai è tropicale, e a tal proposito suggerirei l'utilizzo di ventilatori o affini, per mitigare il disagio. Il rumore sovrastante era quello dei ventagli per i fortunati ospiti che ne potevano disporre. Dopo un flûte di benvenuto, in abbinamento a delle bruschette gentilmente offerte, siamo stati invogliati a cominciare il pranzo.Il menù è ampio e offre molteplici possibilità sia di lago che di terra. La qualità dei prodotti è ottima, così come le realizzazioni gastronomiche. Il servizio è gentile, ma a volte lo sbarazzo dei piatti consumati è troppo invadente, per la velocità con cui viene eseguito. Situato lungo la statale il ristorante è dotato di parcheggio. Ottimo ambiente e servizio. In due abbiamo preso due primi, due secondi, un dolce, due mezzi litri di vino e una di acqua per un totale di 124 Eur. Tutto a base di pesce, i secondi cotti su brace di legna . I recently dined at I1 Crotto restaurant in Lake Como, and while the experience was generally positive, there were a few aspects that could use improvement. First, let's talk about the food. The dishes were good and showcased some classic Italian flavors, but they didn't quite reach the level of excellence found in top-tier Italian restaurants. The ingredients seemed fresh, and there were some creative offerings, but overall, the menu felt a bit lacking in depth and refinement. As for the service, it was fair but left something to be desired. We were dining with kids, and it felt like the staff isolated us from the main dining area, which made the experience a bit dull. While I understand the need to accommodate families, it would have been nice to feel more included in the vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant. In conclusion, I1 Crotto is a good place to eat, especially if you're in the area, but there are definitely areas where they could enhance their service and the overall dining experience. A little more attention to detail in both the food and how families are treated could elevate this restaurant to the level it aspires to be.

Esperienza a dir poco sconveniente, fidatomi delle recensioni ho deciso di provare questo locale,con il presupposto di degustare prodotti tipici del luogo per poi ritrovarmi una cucina molto mediocre, nonostante attività piu che centenaria . Partendo da un entrée quale una bruschetta MOLTO SAPIDA e spoglia,passando per un antipasto di trota affumicata non molto convincente, ed un primo a base di tagliolini con gamberetti e bottarga che Devo dire non male ,se non fosse che la pasta era quasi asciutta ,ed un infine assaggiando la torta grigna,dolce tipico di Como ,che definirei la cosa migliore del pranzo. In conclusione nonostante la presenza di un personale molto cordiale ma a tratti pressante,non mi sento di consigliare il locale,perché vedendo il resoconto di altri colleghi e lo score l'idea era promettente,ma comunque voglio dare il beneficio del dubbio ,e pensare che sia stata una giornata no .

Devo consigliare MOLTO I DOLCI, buonissimi, peccato per la pasta, caffè 2€ ci sta, caffè macchiato 4€ neanche i duomo a Milano.

We waited for the first course for about 45 minutes, they forgot about my main dish, or they didn't write it down, in the end it was time, and we had to go to another restaurant for dinner.

We were initially drawn to this restaurant by the convenient parking and what appeared to be a family-friendly setup with a potential play area for children. The evening started promisingly with a warm welcome, complimentary grilled bread, and a small glass of prosecco. Unfortunately, the experience declined significantly from there. Our server displayed an overly confident, almost arrogant attitude that would only be acceptable if the food quality matched the attitude - sadly, it did not. The main issues: Extremely small portions that felt incomplete. Poor food quality across multiple dishes. The mixed meat platter was particularly disappointing (see photo). The mushroom fungi pasta appeared to be made with flavor cubes rather than fresh ingredients not a single fungi is in it, resulting in one of the worst pasta dishes we've had in the Como area. While the initial hospitality was pleasant, the combination of inadequate portions, subpar food quality, and poor service attitude made this a meal we cannot recommend. Lierna needs more competition when it comes to the food scene.
