Azotea Rooftop Bar & Kitchen

My friend noticed this place as we walked past, from the A frame signage on the sidewalk (i never would have). We walked in without a reservation and were seated, but i thought, why did we need a reservation at 11am? Within 30 minutes it filled up! We had brunch already, just there for relaxing Easter Sunday drinks. I'm not a drinker nor know about alcohol, but my friend was. I was impressed the server Calvin had a lot of knowledge and had great recommendations about top shelf liquor and both of us really liked his recommendations. We later moved to a couch and got a better view, as the seat opened up. What a relaxing way to laze into a Sunday afternoon, we were there for 2 hours at least.

Best views in Livermore down town if you are looking for a small intimate place to enjoy a special occasion with friends. Can make reservations also. The food is top notch and drinks are great too. I have sent so many people here, it’s our go to place for brunch with the girls. Love the champagne omelette for brunch. Check it out, food and view is definitely worth it. Always enjoy our time here. 🫶

This place is the only bar with real style in all of Livermore. It's got a diverse crowd, and good cocktails.

Love this place for drinks with the girls. The view outside is unlike any other place in Livermore, especially at night with the lights. It’s so warm and inviting. The customer service is always so friendly and the owner, Theresa, has always been so helpful and gracious. Try the totchos with bacon — always a hit with my friends that visit from out of town.

One of my go-to spots in Downtown Livermore! Great views on the rooftop patio area with comfortable lounge seating as well as dining tables. Bartenders and severs are super friendly, and the owner Theresa really puts her all into this place. Food is amazing, and cocktail menu is creative and unique. We enjoyed a fabulous evening of 23 guests. Lillian organized a menu and reserved a cozy area overlooking the skyline. The food was fabulous! We had New York steak and skewers, rum cake and coffee. The Lemon Drops are to die for. The staff was on point and server Eric was amazing. The glass fire bar and heat lamps kept us warm. The night view of downtown cannot be beat during this holiday season. It was a night to remember. Thank you Aviation!

Recently went to Azotea with a group of friends for some rooftop cocktails and appetizers and we had a nice experience. We had the taquitos and the empanadas - the empanadas were pretty large and hearty. We also had a variety of cocktails including the house margaritas and Moscow mules. Both were good. Would visit here again for cocktails/apps!

The food is okay. The drinks are about what you'd expect. Those net to somewhere just over 3 stars. The view isn't awesome, but it's one of the best you can get for miles. Especially if you don't care to hike. Get reservations if you want a sunset dinner and they'll take care of you. Service is almost always slow right now.

Food was great, 80s music was fun, drink was very good. Some oddness in the service and feel (ate inside, not super busy on Saturday). One small gripe- we got there at 4:48, sat immediately, ordered an app and 3 drinks and didn't get the $2 off per item advertised on the table tent. Only discovered this after we left as my wife paid the bill because I'd gone to get the car to ease the long walk for my disabled mother. Will definitely come back to try again though.

Busy on Friday to Sunday has to make restoration online or call. It's very hard to get outside table for just walk in. All the table is hold for restoration.

Went out with friends for some drinks only. We sat outside on the rooftop. Very nice view of downtown Livermore and you could also see the beautiful green hills. Drinks were good and the service was great. We didn't order any food, but the people next to us did and it looked very tasty. I will definitely come back here to try out the food and definitely sit outside on the rooftop enjoying food, drinks, and the view!

If you come here at night and ask for a soda, they'll just give you a shot glass. But the drinks and food are good.

Have tried here a few times since it has changed to Azotea. The food has been okay. They have a great happy hour and their Guacamole is really good. Chicken sliders were a little bland but cooked well. It is a bit pricey for the regular menu. That Atmosphere and music is the best part. The staff is very nice, but the service needs a lot of help. The wait for drinks is very long, even when there are hardly any customers. Needed to request water, ice, and condiments several times and never got a refill on water. I would still go for happy hour, but that is about it.

Unfortunately I can't give them full Stars. The food was tasty and they have a lot of shareable options, however on four separate occasions we were unable to get a table. The night where we did make a reservation they seated us at a table that was a high top with the smallest chairs imaginable. It was rather embarrassing because our guests could not fit on the chair even though they weren't that large so anybody with a bigger backside would be extremely uncomfortable. We asked to be moved to a different table and it felt like an ordeal. Two other couples arrived that night at about the same time and were turned away after they drove over an hour to get here. As far as timeliness they would get a one-star. You wait for your drinks you wait to be seated you wait forever for the check, it's no wonder they're so busy because they take too long to get people in and out. However that works because it's a beautiful view but if it wasn't for the view I would have been bothered to have to stay

We drove 1 1/2 to experience the food which was great. Unfortunately can’t say that for the service. The waitress looked like she didn’t want to be there. We asked to be seated outside it was a little chilly so I asked to be moved to a table where there was more sun and we were told it was reserved. Through the whole time no one got seated there and only 4 people were there. Maybe it was too much to ask to move us for her laziness. Glad we were served a small glass of water alongside our 1st drink or else we would have chocked. She never bothered to check on us through the whole time we were there.

Food was mediocre at best, nothing special about it. The only great thing was the service and the atmosphere. Being located on the rooftop is nice.

Me and my friends went for a 21st birthday and the bartender was so incredibly rude. We obviously didn’t know what to drink and were trying to figure something out and she was so rude then handed us a menu of their specialty drinks. I understand this may not be the best place for first drinks but there was no reason for the rudeness. The whole bar staff seemed very nonchalant and rude.

It was dead and I sat at the bar for 10 minutes and no one asked if I wanted anything to drink then when my party arrived we flagged down 3 waiters and no one payed attention and then next thing you know kitchen is closed, worst service EVER!!!

Service was the worst, security gave us a 21+ bracelet even though we weren't, all he asked for was $20. The host charged us $10 to sit outside for the band? Then took 30 mins just for a server to attend us , once he attended us he didn’t want to serve us our drinks and asked us to sit inside. Then we proceeded just to leave and they didn’t want to give us a refund. Please do not come here, it’s all for show. Only thing good is the band they hired. Worst management.

I recently visited this restaurant with my friend, and while things started off well, our experience quickly took a disappointing and uncomfortable turn. After ordering our food, our server encouraged us to try some drinks and recommended one in particular. We asked for it based on his suggestion. At first, he didn’t check our IDs, but then returned later requesting them. I didn’t have mine on me and politely said I’d just stick with water. My friend, who drove us, had her valid ID and she had ordered a Coke as well as the drink. Instead of the server returning, a woman—who I assume was the owner—came out with the Coke and began speaking to us in an extremely rude and condescending tone. She accused my friend of using a fake ID and made inappropriate comments, including warnings about legal consequences “woman to woman,” all without any evidence or proper conduct. Her attitude was aggressive, unprofessional, and entirely out of line. What made the situation worse is that my friend’s ID was valid. There was no cause for such accusations or the manner in which they were delivered. We also couldn’t help but feel racially profiled, especially as we were speaking Arabic prior to the incident. It felt like we were being unfairly targeted, and this is not how any customer—regardless of background—should be treated. Feeling deeply disrespected, we chose to leave before our food arrived. As we exited, another staff member made a comment that we “shouldn’t come back,” confirming that we were not welcome. This was an upsetting experience and I cannot in good conscience recommend this place. We came to enjoy a meal and were instead made to feel uncomfortable and judged.

Never have I ever seen people turned away from a restaurant or bar and told to come back in an hour and a half when the place is over half empty.

On top of that, the Irish coffee was also watered down but the staff was not remotely understanding and I had to argue with the staff that we had a drink that was already paid for that had little to no alcohol at all. By the time we had finished our so-called cocktails, my friend had already closed out the tab for us so she can leave ahead of us while my partner and I had been harassed and asked we pay for our drinks. To our dismay, we had already PAID for our cocktails based upon our friend who had taken a photo of the receipt and told us it was already paid for. Ultimately, the staff was not only condescending, but the hurdle of the bar staff, chased down my partner and I to meet us downstairs after taking the elevator, after we had mentioned multiple times, the drinks were already paid for. The bartender was extremely dismissive but was rude and we were rightfully polite after explaining and arguing we had paid the drinks. Even though we had drinks that were watered down and/or had zero alcohol in our cocktails. Would we ever recommend this place to anyone after the mistreat we received? NO!! BEWARE! I would never tell friends and/or families to go here. We were being demanded to pay for drinks that were already paid for. I have a receipt for the drinks that were included on the bill. I would never come back for the lack of service, rude behavior of staff and being chased down for something that we have not done as a result of the staff to be so rude to paying customers. NEVER would I come back here again. Even after we had mentioned and told our friend who had paid and had contacted the manager and called what had happened. They were trying to repay our us by visiting again with free drinks on the house but I would NEVER consider it after the mistreatment we received whatsoever. The location and rooftop setting in downtown Livermore are fantastic, but unfortunately, the experience fell short on nearly every other front. Service was inattentive throughout our visit. We had to ask multiple times for water refills, and even then, they never came. One of our drinks was brought out still in the can—unopened—with no glass or ice. It felt careless. Our meals came out about 10 minutes apart, so we weren’t able to enjoy our food together. On a chilly, windy day, we asked several times to have the outdoor heater turned on and only after repeated reminders did it finally happen. We also ordered grilled jalapeños that never arrived. Food-wise, it was hit or miss. The Arroz con Pollo was underwhelming—lacking both flavor and flair, and to make matters worse, they had run out of the chile relleno, leaving our vegetarian friend to settle for a very average mac and cheese. There’s clearly potential here, but the execution—both in service and food—needs serious attention. Until then, I’d recommend trying one of the many other options nearby that pair atmosphere with better hospitality.

I immediately canceled the transaction due to the incorrect amount. Despite the cancellation, the restaurant processed another charge to my card for $158.70, an amount I did not authorize. Charging a customer after a transaction has been canceled is unacceptable and raises concerns about the restaurant’s payment handling and internal controls. I am now forced to dispute this charge with my bank due to the merchant’s failure to correct their own error. This experience reflects a lack of accountability and poor financial practices that no customer should have to deal with. Until Azotea addresses these billing issues and demonstrates responsible handling of customer payments, I cannot recommend this establishment.

Food-wise, it was hit or miss. The Arroz con Pollo was underwhelming—lacking both flavor and flair, and to make matters worse, they had run out of the chile relleno, leaving our vegetarian friend to settle for a very average mac and cheese. There’s clearly potential here, but the execution—both in service and food—needs serious attention. Until then, I’d recommend trying one of the many other options nearby that pair atmosphere with better hospitality.

I recently visited this restaurant with my friend, and while things started off well, our experience quickly took a disappointing and uncomfortable turn. After ordering our food, our server encouraged us to try some drinks and recommended one in particular. We asked for it based on his suggestion. At first, he didn’t check our IDs, but then returned later requesting them. I didn’t have mine on me and politely said I’d just stick with water. My friend, who drove us, had her valid ID and she had ordered a Coke as well as the drink. Instead of the server returning, a woman—who I assume was the owner—came out with the Coke and began speaking to us in an extremely rude and condescending tone. She accused my friend of using a fake ID and made inappropriate comments, including warnings about legal consequences “woman to woman,” all without any evidence or proper conduct. Her attitude was aggressive, unprofessional, and entirely out of line. What made the situation worse is that my friend’s ID was valid. There was no cause for such accusations or the manner in which they were delivered. We also couldn’t help but feel racially profiled, especially as we were speaking Arabic prior to the incident. It felt like we were being unfairly targeted, and this is not how any customer—regardless of background—should be treated. Feeling deeply disrespected, we chose to leave before our food arrived. As we exited, another staff member made a comment that we “shouldn’t come back,” confirming that we were not welcome. This was an upsetting experience and I cannot in good conscience recommend this place. We came to enjoy a meal and were instead made to feel uncomfortable and judged.
