5 stars based on naan bread alone. Their naan is amazing, a bit crispy in all the right places and tasty. Basmati rice is good. Cooked pretty well, but no cardamom pods :( Butter chicken was alright Paneer masala was a bit bland

Good indian food is served there. Lamb and chicken are a well-cooked and tender, different kinds of sauces available.

Great local Indian restaurant. The family has had this business for years and have established a good menu with great prices. We're regulars and the Naan is amazing. There deserts are wonderful too and the service is always friendly. The lunch special is great because they will often have a fish and or lamb option.

Great menu, and we've always enjoyed the food. Note that the spice heat scale is pretty darn hot at the upper end, so be prepared. The take out waiting thermal bags keep the food nice and toasty.

We have eaten at the restaurant and they have catered for us for 4 days for a wedding, every time they came thru with delicious food. Either it’s snacks, main entrees, tandoori dishes, we asked for nut free food, they provided it . The team was excellent. I will highly recommend for any size gathering for best tasting food.

I recently visited Sansar Restaurant, and it was an absolute treat! The warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home, but it was the food that truly stole the show. The highlight of my meal was the yummy kofta--perfectly spiced and incredibly flavorful, with a creamy sauce that was absolutely irresistible. The Kashmiri korma was another standout, with its rich and aromatic gravy that paired beautifully with the soft, freshly baked naan. The service was equally impressive. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations to suit my taste preferences. Don't forget to try their mango lassi--it's the perfect refreshing complement to the rich flavors of the cuisine.

This was the first time that I’ve ever tried this place before because I got some money from doing Uber eats and I decided I would treat myself to a new restaurant. Their food is really good and they have a all you can eat buffet seven days a week it only cost 20 bucks so if you haven’t tried this place out I would highly recommend stopping by and check them out. They are also on Uber eats so I would check them out on there too

Great selection of Indian food and terrific customer service. We had Shahi paneer, kofta gravy, bhindi masala, garlic naan, tandoori roti and everything was delicious!

Oh, the food! It was nothing short of divine. The extensive menu offered a wide range of authentic Indian dishes, each prepared with an exquisite blend of spices that tantalized my taste buds in the most delightful way. I particularly loved their signature [dish name], a mouthwatering symphony of flavors that I can’t wait to savor again.

Fantastic lip smacking fresh food. We dined-in on a typical Friday after visiting a nearby temple. The ambiance was pleasant & hosts were very welcoming. The food arrived on time one by one just at the perfect time. The naan’s were super soft, flavorful and arrived pipping hot. The prices were unbeatable for the taste & quality. Must visit if we you want some good quality authentic Indian food that not only tastes fantastic but also is worth the $$. We loved the food so much that I forgot to click pics.

This place makes the best butter chicken in the tri-valley! My family orders take-out or delivery at least once a month. PROs: The food is delicious, it's ready fast, they will alter the spiciness from very mild to extra hot depending on you preferences, and the prices are reasonable. CONs: The only thing I can think of is that the naan is sometimes burnt (like completely black on one side). Otherwise, this places is aces! Delicious and I highly recommend.

We went in a little late for dinner. We were served with decent flavorful Indian dishes without much waiting. The restaurant manager was very nice and didn’t rush us though it was a but late. Food was full of good flavors. I found the quantity of food like saag paneer a little less than we generally see, for the price we pay. Veg biryani was yum. Special veg rice tasted good but my only issue was that the rice was a bit dry and not soft. Loved mango lassi and their yogurt.

Another first time. I have been passing by this place for the last 3 months so decided to try it. Ordered Chicken Saag and Garlic Nan for pickup. Their ordering app was great and when I picked up the food, it was hot and fresh. As I was leaving I realized there was no rice! Whaaat? I have never been to an Indian restaurant were I had to order rice separately with a dish like Saag. I asked the gentleman there and he informed me and made a order of rice for me. He was nice enough not to charge me being my first time but I still think rice should be part of the meal which costs near $14. The Saag itself was delicious with the right amount of heat and a very generous portion. The garlic naan was nicely cooked and delicious too. Rice was plain white with some kind of a spice but basically plain. So to wrap up, flavors and portions were good but rice should be free.

Food quality is average, no goat meat, four to five meat items, i.e., chicken and fried fish. The bread is fresh. Minimum service. Do not set the default tip to 20% for a self-service buffet restaurant: it comes across as unreasonable and greedy.

We went here looking at the reviews. The place was pretty empty for a Sunday evening. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Shahi Paneer and 3 Punjabi Parathas. The gravy for both Tikka Masala & Paneer was the same. Additionally, there was no Tikka in the Tikka Masala. All it had was chicken chunks. This is not how the Chicken Tikka Masala is meant to be. We also caught a piece of Aluminum foil with the paratha. This makes me wonder if they don't make Parathas fresh and that they are just heated on order. Frankly, I will not come back again - though I was tempted to try out their unlimited buffet.

This place is the very definition of overrated. I had a 3 hours drive from SAN Francisco and found this as a recommendation. Since I travel very often, I religiously follow google and yelp guidelines when it comes to picking food, places to visit, hotel...first thing that bothered me is extremely common in that area, they do not respect the scheduled hours they dispose online. After a 15-20 minutes detour, I was excised to finally eat, it was 4 pm, I hadn’t even eat lunch because I wanted to try on the menu. I got there and it’s closed from 3pm to 4h30 pm apparently while on google it stated that it was open until 10. I decide to stop by an ice cream place across the street that’s supposedly open according to google, and it’s close as well, same thing with the other Indian restaurant nearby. I finally spot an employee at 4h25 pm and he tells me to come back in 10 min. I get back and place my order. I ask the waiter about the menu preferences and I order 2 appetizers and 1 meal that was around 14$. I get my appetizer and they were good, but that’s it. Not exceptional whatsoever, just basic Indian food. When I get my main plate, I realize that they didn’t give me my order, but a tandoori mixed grill that’s 20.95$. I barely had service and had to aske for water refill. Moral of the story is that service is not that great and food is just borderline ok. Don’t get there with high hopes.

Went 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon (buffet from 11-3 daily). Fish pakora freshly made. Vegetable curries were better than the non-vegetarian. Most of the dishes were barely lukewarm. The naan was too thick (almost like pita), but the hot chai was excellent. Service was prompt but with a frown. Buffets at Frontier Spice, India Garden, and Curry Cravings in Pleasanton are fresher/better and cheaper than here.

Ordered takeout even after being told it wasn't a great value for the money. Still absolutely disappointed. Thin, nothing-flavored sauces at insanely inflated prices. 8oz of curry (mostly tomato juice) costs about $20 and that doesn't include rice or naan. Tremendously over-hyped. It's like they poured curry powder into some V8

We went there with hope of good Indian food as we drove from Fremont, we weren’t happy with the overall buffet menu and curries. Spinach curry was sandy and Dal had a lot of mustard seeds which made it bitter. Being Indian I would not recommend buffet if you are ordering from the menu it’s still fine but we also ordered bhindi masala which was not fresh as frozen bhindi was used. Overall not a good experience

DON'T !!! we went to this restaurant for a lunch buffet on a weekday and I haven't had a more disappointing Indian food in Bay Area. Their veg options in lunch buffet was just 2 items; burnt naan ; no refills for food and desserts.. oh the kheer was literally sugar-less !! Don't know whether it was our luck that the food was bad that day or if generally it's bad. But definitely we aren't going back here again.

This used to be my go-to place for Indian lunch when in nearby but the most recent experience wasn’t pleasant. The food tastes fine, but some of the chicken chunks are undercooked. I knew because they had funny texture and bounce when I bit them.

Not recommended for lunch buffet. ($25 per person: 20.99 + 20% default tip) Most Curries were likely leftovers. They were tasteless. Only white rice and naans were fresh. For $25 per person buffet, it is well below expectation in quality and variety.

I honestly loved the food here but decided to stop coming after twice in a row they messed up our order by making it spicier than we ordered. This last time we ordered a New Year’s Day meal and we’re excited to eat as a family. We ordered mild because I’m pregnant and my acid reflux is very bad and so my 3 year old can eat it. Got home and tried it and it was the most spicy Indian food I’ve ever tried. On the bag it said it was medium spice but it was definitely very very Spicy. I normally order medium so I know the difference. I literally was coughing and choking on the food it was so spicy. My son couldn’t eat it at all and kept saying “get off my tongue” because it was so spicy. Pretty upsetting when they recently raised prices and no longer include rice with your order. We spent $60 on this meal and couldn’t eat it. We called and they tried to make excuses like no big deal then offered to remake it but we had already driven all the way home and didn’t want to risk complaining because of the risk the cooks would do something to it. You never know. For us it’s just not worth it to keep coming here. They should take their spice more seriously and have a specific standard and measuring spoons with the amount of spice to add. It seems they just leave it up to whoever is cooking to add what they think Spicy. Wish we could just get a refund for the whole meal.

Went on a Sunday for early dinner after looking at good reviews and pictures. Ordered papdi chaat, Garlic naan, Kashmiri Kofta and basmati rice. Chat was nice but the chutneys tasted like store bought ones. Kashmiri kofta was a bit sweet but after taste was spicy (ordered medium spicy) and the garlic naan looked nice but the taste was okay. Overall food was average but the main thing is both me and my husband were bloated after the meal. I ate the chaat and 1.5 naan with kofta. After meal experience wasn’t great at all I don’t know how this place has all positive reviews. Wouldn’t go there again!

We have ordered platter of non veg appetizer. Which was okay in taste. For main course, we ordered Garlic Naan and Madras chicken curry. The Naan was cold and curry was not so great. Although the restaurant closes at 10pm the waiter was desperate to get us out of the door by 9.30 pm. Which I felt really rude and unprofessional. In the middle of having food the waiter just came up with the Togo box and the check. Also the Togo box was very dirty and had dirt stains. I realized it after coming home

Very underwhelming lunch buffet. I've tried a lot of Indian lunch buffets in the bay area, all similar price, and this one is the worst. Lunch buffet is available daily for $19. Food selection was very limited overall and is about half meat and half vegetable dishes. Only 2 curries, butter chicken and lamb curry. Butter chicken tasted like thick, sweet tomato pasta sauce. Most of the lamb in the lamb curry were tough. The chili chicken tasted like sweet and sour pork at a Chinese restaurant. Tandoori chicken was dry. Naan was decent, but only comes in plain. I thought that the best foods were the oranges, Chai tea, then maybe the lamb curry. That's how bad it was. Service was decent. Nice, clean, medium sized restaurant. No wait at lunch time on a Friday. I don't recommend

Way overpriced but the taste is ok (naans are a bit stiff). I usually I wouldn't check the receipt, but after going home, my daughter found that we were charged for 4 mango lassies instead of 2 that we ordered. When I called, the manager casually (looks like they do get such calls regularly) said he can't refund the amount and I need to call again. I wouldn't go again but if you end up going, don't forget to check your receipt.

My mom and I went to this restaurant and the food was awful. They also overcharged us $3.84 and claimed it was a tip when we left a cash tip. They said we had to go to our bank to reverse it. They did nothing to rectify the situation. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for most of my life and have never been treated like this. Do yourself a favor and do not go here! Go to Ashoka in Pleasanton, the food is amazing there!

Sub Mediocre food. Food was not at all tasty. Very limited options, no daal with Rice, you have to use one of the subzis. Only one appetizer for veg and non veg and that, too, was very brittle, like it was warmed up numerous times. Dessert was poorly made, and food was just warm and not hot. Naan was good. Tea was OK. Basically, you get what you pay for. The buffet was $19, and I would not have paid more than $10 for that food. Limited choices and tasteless food. I was almost about to walk out, but since there was no other option in the vicinity, I decided to try it. There was a family in front of us who looked at the choices and walked out. Staff was good, and the ambiance was so-so.

A friend of ours recommended catering from Sansar last year, and when we did, we were thoroughly impressed by their excellent service and delectable food. However, our second experience with them was nothing short of a disaster, leaving us feeling cheated and utterly disappointed! We invited a group of close friends and family members to celebrate a milestone anniversary for our parents, which we had previously celebrated at the highly reputed ITC Maurya, a Luxury Collection Hotel, in India. We wanted something comparable so we decided to go with Sansar as we figured they would offer us the same delicious food and VIP service as we received previously. But we soon came to realize that Sansar is a scam! When we brought the food home, we didn’t bother checking the containers, as we trusted that the restaurant had obviously given us everything we ordered, if not more. We weren’t worried about the quality or the quantity. Shortly after our party started and as we started pulling out the dishes, we realized that the food was not only less in quantity for the number of guests we had ordered for, but also terribly made. The fish was soggy, the paneer tikka wasn’t what we had ordered (they gave us chili paneer instead), the aloo tikki was so spicy that it was inedible, and the chicken tikka was completely raw! This was just the beginning though, once we pulled out the main dishes, we realized that there were two items missing! The rice and the shahi paneer were nowhere to be found! Upon contacting the owner to address this issue, we were met with a dismissive and defensive attitude. She told us that we were lying and claimed to have video proof of personally placing the missing dishes in the hot cases! We decided to move forward with our event and tackle the problem the next day. When we called the owner again the next day, she insisted upon returning her containers at the earliest and when we requested to meet in person, she simply stated that she is never at the restaurant and so she wouldn’t be able to meet with us. This too being a lie, as we had previously met with her when we wanted to place our order. When we visited the restaurant the following day to return the hot cases she was not there, but upon speaking with the staff they admitted that there might have been a mistake and that the dishes were likely forgotten, contradicting the owner's claims. What truly disappointed us was the owner's unwillingness to take responsibility for her mistakes. Instead of acknowledging the issues and offering a resolution, she accused us of lying and claimed to never be present at the restaurant, clearly avoiding any confrontation. Overall, this experience has left a sour taste in our mouths. The stark contrast between our first and second encounters with this restaurant is disheartening. While we had initially been impressed by their service and food quality, this recent catering experience has shattered our trust and confidence in their establishment.

Lackluster flavors in the buffet. Worst tasting rice kheer for dessert choice. Service was poor. Tricked into adding a 20% tip. The naan was the only good thing in the buffet although there was a delay in it getting to our table.

Very disappointing food...not sure why people go and eat here...we tried the buffet and the food was sub par. Tandoor chicken was dry and tough, full of food coloring. Not sure how a punjabi restaurant mess up Kadhi, the pakoda in c Kadhi was not cooked, flavors were off. Chili chicken was stuck to the serving tray, gulab jamun were cold and tough when u cut through them. Super disappointing and would not recommend this place.

Food not at all flavorful, totally unsatisfied. Worst tasting dessert I ever had. Waiting staff not at all warm.
