We love Yin Yin Restaurant because the food we get is always freshly made and they have some of the best Shrimp Tempuara. We always get the family dinner meal. It lasts for multiple meals and always tastes good. They are nice people too. Support local!

I was a young girl growing up in Livermore, CA and my parents often treated me to a nice dinner out at Yin Yin. I am 60 years old now and I relish the memories of these experiences and such wonderful Chinese food. Beautiful establishment

Our families fav Chinese restaurant! Lunch specials are awesome and great price! Noodles, rice, egg roll and choice of protein; best in the Bay!

Great restaurant, wasn't that busy when we went for lunch and they have plenty of capacity. Food and service were both quick and tasty, would recommend.

In the heart of downtown Livermore's Bistro/Cafe district, there is a Great little established hide away restaurant. Yin Yin, Wow! Great Chinese food with big portions and low prices. Water with out asking, fast service. Too bad, people are attracted to the expensive flashy and trendy Bistro/ Cafe spots that line Livermore's First St. But, if you want a good meal before or after a good movie this'll be the best place for you.

Went with a group and had many different dishes. I loved it. We all did! Food was done well and very good. Can't wait to get back to do it again!

I grew up in Livermore and when I come home to visit, I must go there! Tonight we had 15 family members meet there for dinner, the food is plentiful, delicious, and we are never disappointed. # yinyin making family memories!

Really great little spot beside the V&E club. The service is fast, and the portions are large. The hot and sour soup IS AMAZING!!!! They dont serve alcohol, but you can literally walk through a door into the V&E club and have a drink if you like. This is my go to on "recovery" mornings. STOP BY AND CHECK IT OUT.

C
Cierra Goldstein

Best Chinese food. Ever. Their dishes have so much sauce and flavor! I don't eat meat, and they were kind enough to make me a tomato chow mein with no beef! (Thank you!) Also: Their shitake mushroom tofu is AMAZING. I didn't think anything could top the chow mein (I tried both the tomato and the vegetarian one), but the shitake mushroom tofu was so good, my family and I were practically fighting for the last pieces. 😆 I have never tasted a more flavorful tofu ever in my entire life, and I eat tofu almost every day, so that's saying something! Yin Yin deserves all the stars; would eat there all the time if I lived closer!

Family owned, been in downtown Livermore since I was a child at least. Still my favorite place for Chinese cuisine. The food is always top notch, cooked fresh. Staff is always friendly. My goto when I'm not feeling great for hot and sour soup.

Best kept secret in Livermore. Lunch Special is a crazy GOOD bargain. Prices are beyond reasonable for the quality you get. A place like this should have a line going out the door everyday. HONEY WALNUT Prawns is a must!!!!!

10 star, don’t look at the prices just order and you will be impressed. Ordered the pork fried rice, of shrimp chow main and general chicken OMG I was not disappointed great Chinese food.

The food is tasty, the portions are huge and the prices are relatively lower than many of the places around. This was the second time for me and I ordered the Singapore Noodles and they were terrific. The flavors were bold and the portion huge. Also their prices are not so expensive as many of the other lunch places around Livermore downtown. I recommend them and will certainly continue to go there.

K

The restaurant is beyond my expectations! It is cheap, but definitely not low quality. The arrangement in the store is clean and well organized, and food is delicious! I will definitely go there again!

The food here is fresh, HOT, and delicious. H&SSoup and sesame chicken are a must. Service is FAST, and with a smile. Probably due for a look update, and a little music would be nice. But great value for the price!

The owner was prompt to serve and very flexible--our party was large and we actually brought in our own cake for a party. Prices were very reasonable and the kitchen was fast. The peppered beef was spicy but comfortable, and all of the dishes were flavorful.

Had a short lunch break, so we called ahead and placed an order to have the food ready when we got there. They had the food ready a few minutes early so if we had shown up on time it wouldn't have been fresh. Large portions, good prices, food was tasty. Parking in this area is a nightmare so be prepared to potentially have to walk a few blocks.

The service was exceptional this evening, As well as the food was tasty and delicious. Highly recommend the Yin Yin . We got the number 2 dinner for 10 And as usual more food than we could eat. God-bless Yin Yin, One of the last true family restaurants!!!!

Really like the lunch specials here. Very reasonable cost for the amount of food you get. Plus the quality is very good. Right in the heart of Livermore's refurbished downtown.

One of the best bang 4 your buck linches in town.. Mongolian beef extra spicy is always good. If u order the honey walnut shrimp u can add extra shrimp by the $1.

Been a while and had heard good things. Ordered the wor wonton soup, the pepper beef, the green bean with prawn, and shrimp fried rice. Food was quick and really really good. Soup had lots of different things inside and both the green bean shrimp and pepper beef were spot on. Will definitely be back again...Yin Yin, you have brought back an old customer

First time visit after walking by at so many times. We got the chicken chow fun, dry, garlic, bok choy, and sweet and sour tofu All really good, two people not much leftovers. Bok choy was perfect and lots of garlic. Sweet and sour tofu was also nicely done and on my chicken chow fun index roughly an 8 out of 10. Nicely done Very nice staff the bathroom you go through a door and it's in the bar next door. And of course afterwards you walk over to the donut wheel and grab a couple of donuts each because we can . All in all a nice place to dine They did have a large screen television with a basketball game on it Only two other tables were occupied. We were there kind of late in the evening before their 8:30 closing on a Friday night we had gotten there at 7:45 p.m. It was plenty of time to eat and hang out .

Over the last couple of months, Yin Yin has supplanted China Garden as my go-to for Livermore Chinese food. The quality of the food ranges from mediocre to fantastic. Our standard order typically includes the Yin Yin Chow Fun, Chicken and Corn Soup, some form of fried rice (either Yang Zhou or Fu Zhou), and a random fourth item. The Chicken and Corn Soup is pretty standard - it's on par to China Garden. The Yang Zhou Fried Rice is also pretty standard - the reason why it stands out is because I can't recall eating it at any East-Bay Chinese restaurants (it's something I would have ordered years ago from Fortune House in Sacramento or random South Bay Chinese Restaurants). I was pleasantly surprised by the Fu Zhou Fried Rice - there wasn't a description on their menu system, but Googling it returns a description of gravy on fried rice; the "gravy" ended up being saucy-seafood mixture, which is absolutely delicious. The Yin Yin Chow Fun is executed well - the noodles are neither mushy nor undercooked, flavors are right, and the ingredients (chicken, shrimp, BBQ pork, and broccoli) are spot-on. The mediocre items are the deep-fried foods. I've tried their eggrolls and salt and pepper tofu - in both cases, it's more fried batter than anything else. We typically order through GrubHub, but it looks like Yin Yin uses their own internal delivery person. He's great! GrubHub usually reports a 55-65 minute wait, but the food has always been delivered within 30 minutes. He's always masked up, and waits (6+ feet away) at the porch until someone gathers the delivery.

We had the lunch specials, the black pepper beef and the sesame chicken. Both came with generous portions for the $5.95 price, but the black pepper beef was completely tasteless and the sesame chicken didn't seem like chicken or any other meat we were familiar with. We won't eat here again.

I went there only because I felt risky that day. I have never been there but walked by many times and I saw the place empty. When I got inside I smelled the mix of tobacco and old stuff. The food was alright, the restroom is shared with the bar next door. It is one of these shady places, money laundering for triada setup.

Food is good but extremely expensive. It's a very small place with no privacy seating, humid and people are not friendly. They seem like they're on their guard all the times. My family has been going there for over 50 yrs and frequent it less and less. I paid $83 the last time I was there for what used to cost $35. 3 people in my family and no, we are not heavy set. So sad.

My family and I we've been eating there or take-out from there since 1984. My mom likes shrimp wonton rice noodle, my brother likes the pork fried rice and I like beef chow fun. Today's the first time in two years, foods still good 👍

Ordered online for delivery which was very convenient and easy. Unfortunately the food wasn't good. Ordered wor won ton soup, which was ok Pork chow mein, not so good Egg rolls that were made with tempura , horrible Deep fried prawns , good Broccoli chicken, ok Chicken fried rice, horrible.. Perhaps it was an off day for the cook but I spent close to hundred dollars on stuff that wasn't good.

Ordered a Szechuan Pork take-out. The greasiest Chinese food I have ever had. In the dish there were some mixed veggies but mainly green bell pepper but found one broccoli. It made my stomach bloated for 2 days and just felt sick half way through the meal so couldn’t even finish it. By the way, they charged me “support the local” fee, too. Well I was supporting the local restaurant!!! But my last time there.

Google maps showed the place closes at 9:30 pm on Sunday. We went there at 8:25. The lady who helped us to be seated at the table didn’t tell us they will close at 9. She even brought a high chair for my baby. While we started to look at the menu, within a minute another guy came to our table and told us that they will close at 9. Next minute he told us to-go only. We told him we were not told that by the lady and the open sign is still on. He shrugged and replied that his boss said it’s togo now. Left the place very disappointed.

Brutal. This may be the literal worse meal of my life —and I've gotten food poisoning before. The “beef crispy pan-fried noodles” were an oil slick with zero flavor—greasy, limp, and joyless. The shrimp egg foo yung was dry, burnt, and laughably stingy on shrimp: I counted five in the entire dish, and one patty had none at all. Yangzhou fried rice? Basic. No wok hei. No aromatics. No point. If you told me it was Minute Rice nuked in a break room, I’d believe you. I almost never throw food away. I tossed most of this. While paying for it felt like robbery, eating it would've felt like punishment. The only redeeming part of the order was that the canned Cokes were cold. The one star in this review is for their fridge. A 4.2 rating? It's not an exaggeration to say that this one restaurant just managing to exist in this town makes me afraid to try any of the other establishments in the area. The bar here must be under the floor. Maybe the chef was sick today and they made the busboy take over?

Rude staff, unwelcoming, stare at you blankly when you ask questions about the menu, ignore you in the middle of a question to tend to a to go order pickup customer. No smiles ever so ever. Lost my business for good due to the sour attitudes for no reason whatsoever. Dined in here before for a birthday dinner and things were fine for the most part. But this time it was totally disappointing and disrespectful.
