Opinions de Tom's Diner Lockport
Small restaurant with a family feel. Staff are attentive and on top of things. Clean and tidy even during the rush. Always have a great selection of specials for breakfast. Get there early enough because the specials end at 10am.
The food is homestyle, the service is fast & kind during the busiest times. The best seats are the counter stools in the left back room, next to the AC. They dont look like the best, but they have a window that overlooks the locks. Stunning view.
The prices are very reasonable and the food is always great. The staff at Tom's Diner really care about their customers and you can feel all of that love in the food they serve up. I go there often and it's been consistently great!
Very friendly staff, excellent food, and the portions sizes were amazing!! Will most definitely be back and can't wait to show this little "flashback" diner off to my out-of-state family/friends!!!
If you want a cozy little diner for breakfast or brunch, this is the place. The food was excellent!!! I will be back.
Fantastic food & service! Their chili & turkey club are my fav! Amazing breakfasts as well & holiday dinners to go are a life saver for Thanksgiving!
A homely spot to enjoy all day breakfast. Huge portions!
Breakfast was excellent, service was very good. Very quick and helpful. Eggs cooked as asked and a good amount. Prices were very good also
Good food, friendly service, good pricing, local business....why would you not come here. My wife and I are just finishing up our second time here and will be back for more! Great place!
Never had such perfect bacon. Everything was better than expected. Friendly service despite being very busy.
This is truly a Lockport gem if ever there was one. Just a truly nice diner with wonderful food and great prices. Plenty of seating, quiet place to chat while enjoying your meal. Staff is wonderful and efficient as well.
Delicious food & great service! The ownersvare wonderful & go above and beyond for their customers!
My wife and i stopped here for brunch on the way to the Buffalo airport, we wanted to see the erie canal and get a bite to eat at the same time. We were not disappointed, the food was tasty and lots of it. It looks like Toms has been here for ages kind of a small "hole in the wall" place on main street Lockport, and you park right next to the canal and lock. We love these kinds of eaterys and would definitely go back if we are in the area. John & Terri from Sac CA.
Americana at its purest. Excellent diner. Stuff your face at a great price with real good food. Love the breakfast. The iconic wall drawings are very cool.
Ignore any negative reviews, this place is awesome. It is like stepping back in time into a little diner. its not pretentious or uppity, you aren't going to find super fancy food here. What you will find are good honest working people, friendly service and amazing food with huge servings. My husband ordered toms super breakfast and just looking at the amount of food he got made me a little ill, I got a omelet which came with toast and so many home fries . I think I finished only about half. My son had a pancake and slice of bacon which came out warm but not too hot for him to eat right away for which I am thankful. All of this for $30 (we also had a soda and coffee). The owners are family (my Aunt and Uncle. However it doesn't make me biased, if the food sucked I would say so) and are amazing people, which makes me even happier to support Tom's.
Visited noon on Tuesday August 29 2017. Kinda crowded but seated and served drinks promptly. Serving staffs we're pleasant and food came out quickly. Try the home cut french fries. They were bit greasy but it had little salt when compared to frozen kind. Overall a very nice place to eat with family.
This place is so cool. The walls are painted with pictured of pop culture. Breakfast was an affordable price and the size of the meal was huge. I could not finish it all. Food was delicious and cooked to order. The staff was friendly and it felt like home. I would recommend going here to anyone.
Delicious, inexpensive and filling. I got the 2 eggs, 2 sausage links and 2 potato pancakes for $1 more. This was SO good and highly recommended. My coworker ordered the same thing but instead of potato pancakes got regular pancakes. He was itching to come back to this place after the first time he came here and was thrilled when he got to eat the pancakes again. The coffee was also surprisingly good with unlimited refills! The staff was nice and always came by to top off my cup :)
Historic Restaurant directly on the Erie Canal and Lockport Locks! Always excellent food and service! This place has a special place in my heart as it's one of the FIRST places I had an impromptu photo shoot in my early Pin Up days! Love the old school vibe and atmosphere! Definitely Kimmy-Sue Tested and APPROVED 💋🇺🇲
Just a good little diner with great food.!!!
I'd totally give this place a 6. Their food is tasty and filling, the menu has great variety, and the workers are friendly and familiar. It will take you back in time, as there are so many nostalgic posters. They are family friendly and do not serve alcohol. Best restaurant experience ever.
If you're in Lockport, this is the diner to go to. Everything on the menu is solid, the coffee's good, the service is always solid, the environment is good and casual and you will likely enjoy the pop culture drawings on the walls depicting baseball greats, classic cars and more. I've been coming here since I was a kid and it's never let me down.
Food and service was amazing . Huge portion of food I got the omelette with cheese bacon and steak and my wife got the Eggs Benedict. Got a side of French toast and pancakes . All amazing. My wife normly never finishes her plate when we go out but this time she finished her food before me and that is a super rare occasion. All this was under 40$ you can not go wrong . This was our first time here and we will be comeing back for sure.
A wonderful diner with 50's nostalgia and the best damned breakfast in Niagara County... country fried steak is amazing! And the folks there are very kind! Appreciate the artwork of The Fonz and Charlie Watt & The Rolling Stones.
After reading reviews of Tom's Diner we knew we had to try breakfast there. They didn't disappoint us, it was delicious. My wife loved the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with macaroni salad. We'll be back again when we're in town.
Best omelet I have ever had. Good service and fast. Definitely a find.
I love Tom's. It's a family friendly resturaunt with a nice atmosphere. As a regular they remember our standard orders. The food is fantastic. The steak sub i had the last time was one of the best I've had.
Showed up an hour before closing time. We were in and out in a half hour and it was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! Those homefries were unreal and I've been fantasizing about them ever since. Will definitely go back!
Went for breakfast, and the food was great! The home fries were amazing! Not that frozen, reheated garbage. The staff was wonderful! You'll love the small town diner feel of this establishment.
Excellent restaurant! Delicious food and super service. Ate breakfast with my lady friends today and really enjoyed the atmosphere as well. I recommend this diner for breakfast or lunch! Nice job!
Cute little diner. Good food friendly staff and reasonable prices. Been there several times for breakfast and will go again.
Was really surprised at the quality of the food😁 we took friends here as we were passing through... and even though they were closing still let us come in and have some wonderful food and really good service. If we lived closer this would be a very loved spot 😘
Eggs Benedict Florentine was very tasty with a Generous portion of home fries, seasoned to perfection. My boyfriend's sausage gravy and biscuits were very good too. He said his meal could have been hotter, but it was still very good. More than we could finish.
Always a great breakfast at Tom's Diner. Fast service and good food!!
Fast service. Craving potato pancakes. Delicious. Cost a bit more than around area but food was fast, hot and server very personable so I'd say it was a win-win situation and we would return.
Great place with exvellent food. They were very accommodating of our large group despite being busy. Food was excellent and well priced. Definately qould return!
Quick service, good food. What's not to like?
Small, local diner. Food was excellent and staff was friendly. We both got the Country Fried Steak with Gravy and Eggs with Homefries and Toast. The steak was nicely seasoned and tender with the perfect amount of flavorful gravy on top. Over medium eggs were cooked perfectly. Everything was delicious!
We stopped by the diner before our tour to Niagara Falls and had a great brunch here. The eggs and potatoes were good and my friend who got panini said the panini was great👍The service was really friendly and our waitress was a gem. She helped and was very attentive to us, we had trouble with deciding on food choices due to food intolerances and language barrier on top. Not to mention really classic diner vibes we got there, the wall paintings were top 🤩
Good food at a good price. The servers were pleasant and quick to all of the food was very good along with the coffee.
We had delicious food with generous portions. Wasn't too crowded and we could hold a conversation clearly.
Excellent, great atmosphere. Well worth the money.
This place had a very small town feel to it and i loved it. I had Toms big breakfast. I asked for eggs over easy, home fries, sausages and white toast. The eggs were really runny and crunchy at the same time. Super delicious. I had a bite of my daughters pancakes and they were so soft and buttery. I really wish I had ordered my own. Overall, i gave the restaurant 5 stars because of the food, the waitress and the quick service. I will definitely visit this place again.
Tom's serves a consistently good breakfast. Their servers are always so kind and welcoming. It is a pleasure to eat there regularly.
Very homey! Friendly staff. BLT was generous with bacon.
We were looking for a diner breakfast before leaving town to head home and Tom's did not disappoint! Service was great; we were seated and coffee'd quickly. Menu specials - hear them out. Kim suggested the fresh blueberry or peach/ walnut toppings so we had to get French toast (the partner) and pancakes (me). Awesome. The location was easy to find, in the heart of downtown by the locks.
Highly recommend if you're looking for a classic breakfast spot everything was delicious
I had the Belgian Waffle topped with strawberries and whipped cream. It was delicious! Our waitress was very attentive, and gave us everything we needed and then some. A great breakfast place for my first trip to the area
We went in for breakfast. The food was really good and decently priced. Our server was extremely friendly and entertained my question on what the heck pizza logs were since we were from our of town. Menu had something for everyone (including gluten free options) and the environment was great. It's location was nice too since it was right in front of the locks which are definitely worth checking out!
Great breakfast good variety. Pancakes are huge and delicious. Hubby had country fried steak it had sausage gravy also delicious. Staff friendly. Definitely will go back a d I do recommend it. Decor quite interesting a d unique.
The love of my life and I woke up hungry and ready to try some local restaurants. I have been living here for several years and decided to try this place out. The service was lovely and timely. We ordered brunch and was shocked on how large the plates were and the best part was it was all homemade. Why have I denied myself from this treasure, we will definitely be back. Thank you for a great meal!
One of the best breakfasts, hands down and you're supporting the local economy. The portion sizes are quite generous. The pricing is a tad bit higher, but more of a home cooked taste, which makes it worthwhile. Love their potato pancakes.
Good food. Fast service. Great atmosphere.
We stopped in here to get some takeout for lunch. We had a veggie panini and a turkey panini. Both were delicious! We were hoping for some carrot cake, but it is very popular and all sold out. People working here are very friendly! Would definitely go back if we are ever in Lockport again.
Hey Everyone, This restaurant is just plain GREAT! he breakfast selection is first rate and my delicious eggs B was one of the best I've ever had. Fountains of deep, rich coffee and scrumptious piled on hash browns...and oh yes, stacked, thick pancakes fluffy and light - the kids loved em. You have to try this place out...no proverbial "slim pickins" here!!!!!
Went with my fiance today and we both had a very satisfying breakfast. Country breakfast with eggs over sausage and gravy, she had a build your own omelette with home fries and everything was spot on. 5 stars because I didn't have any complaints and it was delicious.
Great "old time" diner located in downtown Lockport, NY. We love this place - Always excellent service and great food. Julie, our server is a gem. Our breakfasts were delicious this morning. Hot coffee ☕ refilled throughout our meal. Started with an order of potato pancakes - crispy and yummy 😋. Next came our big breakfasts - perfectly prepared scrambled eggs and over medium no runny yolks. Both came with nicely seasoned potatoes hot from the grill. Our meat choices were ham and bacon. The rye bread toast 🍞 was perfect! A yummy filling breakfast for sure! Wonderful service - awesome food.
The service was fantastic and the food was better. My country fried chicken was cooked to perfection, my eggs were eggcellent and the home fries were delicious. Even the coffee was fantastic. Great spot for breakfast. I'll be back for lunch tomorrow.
Breakfast was fantastic. Sharon was my waitress and she was awesome. You must come here for breakfast!!!
Cozy diner by the Erie canal offers a homey selection of favorites at a good price, friendly staff. Gluten free bread and bagels available upon request (can't guarantee no cross contamination although i've never had an issue). Open daily til 2pm, it's a favorite breakfast stop for me.
Best meal of the long road trip! Waitstaff was great and food was soooo good. We went off season so no problem getting a table! Love the locks on the Eric canal.
Great family diner. Only open for breakfast and lunch but breakfast is served all day long. When COVID started and my special needs son couldn't go to school, we had to find a new daily routine. Tom's Diner became our place to go. The staff are amazing and welcomed my son like family. Taking time to chat with him, to read books with him and to just make sure he had a smile on his face every time. We don't go as often as we used to but every time I ask where he wants to grab breakfast, this is his place of choice. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed.
This is a local diner complete with waitresses who call you 'honey'. We were here as tourists, but were recommended here by a local. Service was fast, and cheerful. Coffee was diner perfect, and our served never let me see the bottom of my cup. Needing a lighter breakfast, I skipped the home fries and Bacon opting instead for scrambled eggs and an English muffin. Wife had eggs Benny and home fries (with grilled onions) . our food was excellent and came to about $25 including tip.
Tom's Diner is a hidden gem! Classic diner vibes, friendly service, and delicious food that hits the spot every time. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and everything tastes homemade. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or a you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend!
We wanted to try a local place for breakfast. I saw a review and it looked good. Everything was excellent. The eggs were cooked perfect, the toast on point. The bacon was crisp but not too crisp. We loved the homefies. Lastly, the pancakes were huge, fluffy and excellent. If you want a cozy home atmosphere with a great breakfast, try Tom's Diner in Lockport, NY. We also feel good to support the small local businesses.
Had a delicious breakfast here yesterday morning. Love the French toasts - so satisfying! Pancakes were soft and fluffy, sausage patties were delicious. Bacon was slightly overcooked but overall the food was delicious, atmosphere was clean, quiet and peaceful. Staff was friendly. Hidden Gem in Lockport will visit again. Highly recommended.
Tom's Diner truly captures the essence of a classic diner experience, blending a rich history with exceptional service and delectable food. It's the kind of place that transports you back to the golden era of diners, where every meal feels like a nostalgic journey. My wife and I enjoyed a delightful breakfast there, abundant in portion and wonderfully tasty. It was a memorable visit that reminded us of what a real diner is all about.
Over the weekend I had my first Toms experience after it getting recommended to me. I am new to the area and have been trying many places, and I will definitely be going back here. Great service and great food. Very good priced and great portion!
I LOVED my meal. I had toast, scrambled eggs with cheese, and sausages. It was full.of flavor, no holding back. No bulk ingredients. This was fast service. I was very surprised and delighted! The only thing im disappointed about is that it is a long drive from where I live lol. Staff was very sweet and there was a nice vintage atmosphere with nostalgic art around the walls.
Food was great but my coffee tasted like bacon. Service great and the wait time zero. Will be back again, my sister really loves their stuffed French toast with strawberries and bananas.
Great place for a quick lunch! Wide variety of classic food and fun decor. Only voting 4* because some of the booth seats are ripped and taped together. Tom's Diner is an asset to Main St Lockport!
Love toms but today I sat and waited 20mins for a seat just to leave when the waiter tried to seat me at a tiny round end table in the middle of the walk way. Lol I'm a 6'5" 300lbs guy she should have realized that I wasn't going to like that very much, other than that great food good prices and food comes out fast and hot
Love this place! This place was my childhood I would always go with my grandmother. But I did get food poisoning from here once and so did my mother but all the other times were great.
All in all a sold breakfast spot. Country fried steak is great. Eggs benny is okay. Steff is friendly and courteous. Food is usually out really fast and there is never a wait.
Tom's is a good diner. Pretty standard menu, with the bonus of breakfast served all day and biscuits and gravy being available every day! The portions are generous. I couldn't believe the size of a full salad! And it's only $1 more than the half. The throwback decor was nice. Service was great- quick, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Restaurant seemed clean. I was bummed there wasn't a changing table in the bathroom. The fries were soggy and pretty blah. The club sandwich was standard. Overall, if you're wanting diner fare and you're in the area, check it out. But not worth going out of the way for.
If you're looking for a homey, downtown, old-school kind of place, Tom's Diner fits the bill. They offer the usual diner fair: eggs, pancakes, coffee, clubs, at great prices. In terms of taste, I wouldn't say it's groundbreaking - it's diner food. You come here for a cup of coffee to wake you up in the morning, not something sourced from Arabia. The interior design takes you back to when Lockport had a roaring Main Street, featuring long-gone business murals painted along the walls. I would recommend Tom's to anyone searching for a place to reminisce while also getting a good bite to eat.
My family has been going tok Tom's for many many years. Their food is good, especially their vegetarian chili. So good! The waitresses are super friendly and always smiling even when they don't know you are looking 😁
Everything about the restaurant is good. It just sucks. They don’t have any prices online so you don’t know exactly with the prices. Some of us are working with a budget. I don’t feel the need to call the storage just to ask for a price of something. Really wish they would get an up-to-date menu with the correct prices. They tried to tell me some thing about the cost of food inflation. But there’s inflation on everything these days. At least they can have some type of menu with the prices on it. Other than that, the food is great and so are the people that work there.
Customer service was very welcoming and helpful! They let us choose our seating. We were given our menus and drinks quickly! The food was typical diner food. They give you your potatoes with onions which was very nice to see. The pancakes were fluffy and had a delicious vanilla flavor. The hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict florentine tasted more like kraft mac n cheese sauce than actual hollandaise. They gave my partner black toast and the reubens here are very dry but have a great flavor. Their corned beef is cut into strips which usually dry it out faster during cooking. All-in-all, I'd comeback on a day where the cook is more experienced.
Let's start off by saying that the waitress, Coleen, was fantastic. She was very friendly and polite. So I gave service 5/5 because of her. Atmosphere I gave a 3/5 because the walls were dirty and there were cracks in certain places. The art on the wall was really nice to look at, but the dirt on the walls was a distraction from the beautiful art. The ice machine was very loud and sounded like a toilet flushing. It's right where you're eating, so it's hard to ignore it. As for the food. My wife and I ordered 2~2~2 (she had pancakes and I had french toast) with bacon and a side of sausage patties. The sausage patties tasted exactly like the ones you get from the frozen box at your local supermarket. I paid $4.25 for the side of sausage patties that came with 2 of them. Wasn't worth it. The bacon was very crispy and very thin. It was way too crispy that you couldn't even taste the flavor of bacon. The eggs were great. They tasted fresh and homemade. Both the pancakes and the French toast tasted extremely sweet before even putting on the syrup. The orange juice tasted very concentrated, like one you'd get from the hospital. Personally, I wouldn't go here again. This can be someone's type of forte, but it just wasn't mine.
Service was very quick and waitress very nice. Food was decent, as expected, nothing more unique than anywhere else but tasted good and quickly served. More expensive than I would have expected for a breakfast diner of this caliber.
There is so much I could say about this. For one their home fries were burnt and so was their coffee. They were unwilling to give us the ammount of sugars and creamers we were asking for. They were super slow even with half compacity. They admitted to microwaving things. If I wanted a microwaved burrito I would go buy one at the store and go home and microwave it. At least then that would have melted cheese and more than one meat. With how disappointing that was it wasn't worth how much money we spent. Will not be going back!
First time for breakfast today, they had ceiling fans turned on high. We asked they turn off the fan above. The waitress replied with a stupid response; she claim they had to stay on because of COVID. Tom's diner is not interested in providing a comfortable eating atmosphere, so we left. Thumbs down for Tom's diner.
Save your money and do not dine here. The Greek chicken saled with pita was terrible. The menu indicated that everything is made to order. Im having a hard time believing that. The chicken tasted like the chicken in a frozen dinner box you would get at your local grocery store in the frozen section.
Absolutely my favorite diner in Lockport! Great food, friendly staff!! Also near the canals to walk! (Five star review) Friday 11,2021 Her name was Kathleen! I was highly upset as I come here all the time. I saw the waitress go outside and smoke a cigarette and immediately go grab a customers food instead of washing her hands. Then as she went by as a non smoker all I could smell was the smoke. I understand people smoke but please WASH YOUR HANDS!!!! Five star to a one star!!
