Opinions de The Ordinaire Long Beach
One of my faves to visit when hanging out downtown. The vibe is fun and decor is cool. Stained glass window at the bar and gothic looking chandeliers seems like being inside of a church haha. The guys bathroom is labeled Brothers and girls says Sisters. The creativity is just awesome! Food is good too!
The Congregation is always a great choice for a beer! I recently tried their food and was pleasantly surprised. I had the rib eye burger with sweet potato fries and it was cooked perfectly and delicious! I definitely recommend trying their menu, and the beer selection is always great.
Omg! So Amazing!!!!!! HIGHLY recommend! Aoen was an absolute gem! And her co worker Brian was equally great! They actively served me, catered to my every need, and the food was just out of this world. Very affordable, GREAT Beer selection/ Variety, and very clean /modern establishment. A MUST do if your in Long Beach
They have a new vegan menu! I saw the sign walking by and decided to try. The chicken burger was really good. Had a honey mustard sauce on it which made it sticky but it tasted really good. Comes with vegan cheese that is great. Server was new but did a great job answering what she could. Definitely coming back to try all the vegan options.
Second time eating there this week. Food is quick and delicious. Beer selection is great!
We popped in for a beer. Impressive selection! Friendly service. Clean restaurant and restrooms, as well as a nice patio. Did not try the food, but the menu looked good!
Great food and ales! Service is absolutely phenomenal and the atmosphere really sets the mood for a good time. Highly recommended!
Great location on the promenade. Beers are great and the pizza is Betty tasty. Friendly staff and great service . Located near by a couple of parking structures.
This place was amazing!!! Super cozy vibes. I wanted to order so many things off the menu but went with their mini pot pie things… I forget what they are actually called but the waitress told me that they are famous for them and I would eat them every day if I could!!!
I love this spot as a local tavern. Their house made cocktails are great and their food is comfortingly familiar but well executed. The only problem is it becomes intolerable for 3 months a year with kitchy themes. Fortunately, that has just ended and they've revamped their cocktail menu, and it's comprehensively large, well-organized and excellent in my experience. Can't wait to go back to try more.
I gave The Ordinarie five stars purely for their Christmas pop-up because it’s truly top tier and hands down my favorite holiday bar. The space is decorated to perfection. I loved the over-the-top, gaudy holiday décor, and the cheeky Santa was my favorite touch. The vibes alone are immaculate and worth recommending for that reason. The food, however, was just okay. My boyfriend and I ordered the deviled eggs, mac and cheese, wings, and cauliflower, and we both agreed it was mid and a bit overpriced for what it was. The drinks were a different story…we loved them! I got the alcohol-free hot chocolate, which was incredibly rich and flavorful. My boyfriend ordered the eggnog cocktail and later the alcoholic hot chocolate, and he really enjoyed both. Despite how busy it was, our waitress was attentive and lovely, which we really appreciated. We had a reservation and were seated right away, which was a huge plus given the long line and how packed the place was. When you arrive, they give you a card letting you know you have the table for 90 minutes, and they kindly wrapped things up right on time.
Can't say enough wonderful things about this adorable spot. I didn't even realize they were going a Christmas Pop-Up event but was pleased to be promptly seated at the bar (I was dining solo). They also didn't charge an entry fee for the event which I thought was really cool. They went FULL OF NUTS with the gawdy, cheesy, flashy decor and I don't think I could love it more. There's Garland EVERYWHERE, Christmas music is blasting, and the menu (including cocktails) are dripping with Holiday Cheer. Staff were attentive and present. The cocktails were delicious (I tried the Run Run reindeer and the Dancing Sugar plum and both were fabulous though the latter is more of a dessert drink). The Chicken Pot Pie Bites are ridiculously delicious, the flaky crust is messy and tasty and the sauce they come in almost had that southwest chipotle flavor.... Just amazing. I think whether they are doing a Pop-up event or not, you'd be pleased, but the extra decor sure made it fun!
This was our first time dining here, and it exceeded expectations. The gorgeous decorations transformed the space, and the staff, who were all dressed up, were exceptionally friendly and inviting. Even with a small wait (understandable, as it was the most popular spot on the block!), the experience was fantastic. The food and specialty drinks were delicious, and the live band kept the energy high. An absolutely fun, high-energy vibe—we loved it! Just be prepared for a premium bill; it was pricey, but we felt it was fair value for the special, immersive event and overall quality.
If I could give 20 out of 10 stars, I absolutely would! From the moment I walked into The Ordinary in Long Beach, I was blown away by the energy, the service, and the vibe. The staff was beyond friendly, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely excited to make every guest feel special. The food and drinks? Phenomenal! Every dish was bursting with flavor, and the cocktails were pure perfection crafted with creativity and flair that matched the festive atmosphere. And let’s talk about the Christmas decorations, WOW. It’s like stepping into a holiday wonderland! Every inch of the restaurant sparkled with warmth, charm, and spirit. You can feel the joy and attention to detail that went into creating such a magical experience. If you’re looking for a place that delivers top-tier service, mouthwatering food, incredible drinks, and a vibe that will lift your spirits The Ordinary is extraordinary. I can’t recommend it enough! Icing on the cake of this amazing experience was Jane! Not sure what her position was because she literally was doing everything, and at the highest level of quality, thank you for your kindness, you represent the restaurant so well and definitely made a returning guest out of me.
Not sure how we found out about this place, but my wife got a tip and boy. Is it a good one? This place had the most amazing Halloween decorations set up in their restaurant. The food was over the top great. The service was over the top even on top of that, and overall, we gave this place an A plus plus. kind of tucked away, not easy to get to necessarily, but boy, when you get there, be ready to be surprised. This posting is a little bit late. Considering it's almost Halloween, but if you're able to see this and get over there while the Halloween decorating is still up, it's worth the payoff alone, everything was worth it again. The place is great. What a nice little find. you're welcome for this one, again.
Went to Halloween pop up on Promenade. Food delicious, but portions a ride small for price. Drinks in really cool mugs, but lots of ice, beers were priced great, had an amazing blonde ale i loved. French dip qas tasty came with salad or fries I had salad. Really amazing interior. Somewhat chaotic with service, brought extra order pit pie bites we didn't order and then went about asking if someone had ordered french dip, seemed chaotic but then they weren't capacity and working really hard. Servers were busy but nice. Didn't need them much as we had seen menu online and knew what we wanted. The menu is limited but this is a tavern so it makes sense in that context. primarily a bar. Really good tasty food, super cool inside, definitely recommend on ambiance alone. Drinks overpriced but good. Beer was great deal though. I'd get beer next time over 20$ iced down gimmick drinks. Mugs from Tiki Farm were cool.
From start to finish, this place hit all the marks. First off: ambiance. The design is effortlessly cool without feeling pretentious. Moody lighting, interesting décor, and the vibe just works. You walk in knowing they paid attention to the little things. Service? Top notch. Attentive without hovering. Friendly without being fake. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Now, the food & drinks. Delicious. Inventive. Each plate felt like it had its own personality. Cocktails? Bold, balanced, and beautifully presented. Bonus points for live music- it added just the right energy without overpowering your conversation. If you’re in Long Beach and want somewhere to impress a date, hold a chill but elevated get-together, or just treat yourself — The Ordinarie belongs on your “must visit” list.
Was looking for a place nearby that was showing the Olympic Men's Basketball Gold Medal game and found this place. Very cool atmosphere and decor. Service was great. The Bartender Eric was super friendly and helpful. I asked him for any refreshing cocktail and he made a few different ones that were are all delicious. Ordered the Tavern Burger and that was also super delicious! It had pickled jalapeno's in it which was super good and not super spicy. Also, their ketchup and ranch was homemade and fresh. Overall, delicious food, great service, and a cool place. Definitely would come back.
I ordered the chicken fingers for $7 and the cheese plate. Delicious. Nice presentation. I just loved it. I sat outside. It was a gorgeous day and this place is right off Pine (one block East) and 2nd St. right in the center of Long Beach. Fun for people watching. A nice, classy spot for St. Patrick's Day. I also think they have great service with the exception of one weird moment. My drink (just whiskey on ice) had lipstick from someone else on the glass. When I told the bartender he dumped the contents of the cup into another cup and handed it back to me...savage. I was too shocked to say anything but I'm not a germaphobe so whatever. Lol maybe next time remake the drink all together? Looking back it's pretty gross. But taken as a whole this place is great and so is the service. This was a one off.
Good selection of beers. Only had fries but they were tasty and hot! Hint: get a side of the ranch... It's garlicky goodness!
Excellent pulled pork sandwich with brie cheese. The onion stringers we're good with chipotle sauce. Service was good too. We ordered at the counter and delivery was fast.
My first time going here and it was good. Had a few drinks but I think it's best to stick to their beer. The mix drinks are ok but not much to brag about. Their tacos are pretty good too. Only downside is that it's small and can get a bit compact on a busy night. Overall, I'll definitely come back.
Very good beer selection. Bartender could be better in terms of service. Had got wings. Could be little hotter.
Place has a chill vibe. The ribeye burger is really tasty. Great beer selection. A lot of rare beers. Sausages are good. And great discounts for Happy Hour. I will be back.
The burger was incredible. I love how they blended the patty with the buns. The drinks were not up to standard. Not listed as they taste. Atmosphere was quite unique! Perfect for your family during Xmas season if you don’t care about the food.
Great selection of beer. Food was not too good. The service was great. The woman Diana was working alone, and did a wonderful job. Very nice and clean place!
Delicious chicken sandwich! Could use more spice for my personal taste but I like it to be obnoxiously spicy :p not bad for a $9 sandwich. gotta kick up the heat by a notch definitely. Interesting place to visit, restrooms are kinda fancy ngl.
Food was pretty good even if I found a a hair in my beer nachos. Someone should put a net on for cooking food. Nice outdoor patio, dog friendly so Wolfie agreed with his burger patty. Slightly too expensive. Service could be better.
This review is not about the beer, which seems to be the talk of the crowd. This is about the burger which is OK, not too fancy or elaborate with a decent flavor. the Parmesan fries are OK with bits of garlic in them.
The three of us made an early happy-hour pilgrimage to The Ordinarie, drawn by fun energy and bartender Sophia’s charm. The wings were spot-on—crispy, flavorful, and basically MVP of the night. Then came the blackened salmon… which arrived looking more ‘charcoal chic’ than ‘seared perfection.’ To their credit, they rescued it with a second attempt that redeemed the dish. The fries were solid sidekicks—golden and satisfying. Unfortunately, the taps weren’t cooperating, so we ended up with an okay IPA that got the job done. Early happy-hour scene? Pleasant and promising—though maybe things smooth out even more as the evening unfolds. All in all, a generally fine outing with a few hiccups, but enough fun and friendliness to make us want another round
Abby themed bew pub serving mix between brewhouse and mexican food. I ordered the tatertots with nacho cheese that came with no cheese but i only remembered after leaving. The food was pretty good but service was terrible. As the food came out, I had to ask for silverware twice before getting up to get it myself. With better service, this place should be 4 stars.
This place is decent but with so many better options around it, it's hard to justify going here. Food selection and beer selection is kinda limited. When I was there I wanted a sour beer and they had two options (seems light for an, "ale house"). I purchased one, tried a sip at the counter, it was horrible! I asked to replace it with the other. They said no and made me purchase the other second one. That type of customer service at a restuarant is just foolish. Someone doesn't know how to manage this establishment. That being said, so many new places have opened up around it and are in the area, you can pass on this one.
While the restaurant decor is adorable everything else suffers. We went to the Halloween pop up during Dodgers world series. It wasn't busy. We were led to a corner 2 top by the bar. We asked for a booth & were told they couldn't accommodate that. Shortly later a 2 top was sat at a booth & the booth we requested remained vacant out entire visit. Our server was MIA. Our introduction from her was some "joke" reminding us not to steal their holiday mugs. My partners water was never filled. The drink was weak & the food mediocre. I've been twice. Though the concept is cute.. the place isn't all worth the hype.
