We were traveling through Longview and decided to stop here for lunch. The food is very delicious and the atmosphere is inviting. The server was attentive and the staff is friendly. I wish I lived closer to dine here more often, but if happen to come back this way, I will definitely stop by again.

The food here is fantastic! I was hungry on the way back to Fort Worth I decided I wanted to go to a good buffet so my son and I chose this one. The iced tea is some of the best I've tasted and the food was hot and fresh. We were appreciative of the service and the quality of the meal. We will be back!

Fist time coming here. I love me some sesame chicken, rice and noodles. Rice was a little bland, and the sesame chicken was in some soup, I like my crunchy with sauce, so that was disappointing. But all other things I tried were good. The atmosphere feels a bit fancy, it's nice in there. Will come again. Also the lady that charged me was nice. I went in for lunch to go at about 1 on a Wednesday, it wasn't too busy.

It's been over 20 years since I've been back... the owner was very RUDE to customers/children so we never came back. But overtime we...my wife and I decided to give it another try and I was pleasantly surprised on how the place had changed. It's more of a friendly atmosphere and the food was very fresh. I'll will revisit this NEW Hupei's from time to time. I didn't see the old owner there this time but then again alot can happen over 20 years...all my kids are grown and moved out/in college.

What a surprisingly beautiful restaurant. This was my first time. The staff was attentive and seated us promptly. The buffet was hot and fresh with a large variety. I enjoyed the meal from salad to desert, start to finish.

Hupei's is my go to for Chinese. It is always fresh and hot and tasty. They have a good selection of main course as well as dessert.

A very rare 5/5 in my opinion. I have no complaints at all. Not only were the staff courteous, but the people dining here were very polite and nice. Food is excellent and doesn't have the buffet taste, all was hot and tasted wonderful. A nice spread of different dishes and an excellent dessert bar. You can tell that those who oversee this restaurant care about quality. The music complimented the atmosphere and the interior was decorated nicely. I will be coming back. I'd also like to add a few things. They do bring you your ticket around your second to third plate but it's for your convenience. They continue serving you after they drop it off, I had two plates after my ticket was given to me. My waitress continued refilling my cup from a pitcher, it never got less than a quarter full. They kept a close eye on my table if I needed anything.

We love this place. The employees/owners are so friendly and there is a ton of choices to choose from. Something for everyone. We felt rushed when we ate here today. The waiter was so friendly and attentive but we felt rushed and didn't like that.

I can't brag enough about this place. I don't live in longview but I don't mind the drive because the food and service is superb. I always get the take out buffet and a large wonton soup which they get it nice and fresh from in the back, not off the buffet. Not that I would complain but I like the service I get. Makes me feel special. The staff is so kind. This is the first one we tried in town and there was no need to go anywhere else. We're hooked for life.

But after this experience I want to just say that if you think China king or even panda express is the better option in Longview, Texas; you should reconsider. I like Hupei pretty good. The sushi is good, but I noticed no California Roll and nothing that has roe. They seem to keep the buffet well stocked often. I had to ask for a refill on my drink because the guy tending the tables was more interested in his phone.

First time there and was impressed with the taste of the food, but three of the five items I got were not that hot temperature wise. Jello was great along with the service. Was even asked if I needed more napkins or a to-go cup. Was around 2:00 PM.

For its price and location being a relatively smaller city - it is delicious. Just the right amount of options (not so many where you are become simply overwhelmed) and fresh. Definitely will be going back.

Ordered from them for the first time today. Their Cho-Cho chicken is great moist delicious. However their crab puffs were disappointing they had almost no filling in them very sad.

This food was really good! Their sauces were as well. We don't eat Chinese food very often and are picky about the options when we do, so we were happy with the flavors and the sizes and amounts, especially with prices nowadays. We had it delivered and they pack the food very thoughtfully. My only issue was with their rice. The rice was very overcooked. It was hard. It came in a white container and the top few spoonfuls seemed to be cooked, but when I went in for seconds, all the rice underneath was very hard and overcooked. Will try again.

Remarkable Review

I used to come to this place every Sunday with family as a child. It used to be so amazing. The customer service from the man running it at that time(older guy we just called Hupei as we thought he might have been the owner) was impeccable. It had been a while since I’d been since I moved away a couple years later. I come back to visit a few times a year and try to stop by at least once a year. It’s always been great. This time that I came to dine in(March), I was happy to see that they took Covid precautions with sanitation, seating, gloves for customers, and eating utensils. I was only disappointed that the food taste and quality had gone down significantly. This made me super sad has it is a child hood staple. I don’t know if I’d be returning. I was super dissatisfied. I guess time will tell.

The worker that didn't even own the place had an attitude & when I ask, "what's up with the Veterans discount"......they put on there just ME getting the Veterans discount which took a $1 off the regular price which was originally $46. I never did that anywhere else.....but I felt cuz I asked tha owner a question, he didn't understand, so the worker that was helping another customer said wit an attitude, "What!?" 1st off.....I wasn't talkin 2 u, but since u wanna ask wen I walk off, I could of handled it worse, which I know datz what they wuz expecting, but I didn't. Finally got a chance to try the "New" Hupei lunch buffet. You won't be disappointed in the selections offered for the week day buffet. All you care to eat. Well prepared. And frequently restocked from the kitchen. I made my wife's selections and went back for mine. Nothing ran out during lunch. Good place for a family meal...or quick lunch break...or crew lunch. Notes: The Chinese dishes on the printed and online menu seem to be photo stock pictures. My wife was disappointed that her favorites were not prepared well from the buffet. She wants to come back earlier try items she saw on the buffet before a crowd arrives.

Got there around 5. Much of the food on the buffet was cold. Later, they brought out some more food and it was hotter. Not the best I’ve had but found a few things that were decent. Not a particularly large buffet setting. We had screaming kids on both sides so that didn’t add to the experience.

Second time coming here, they was good the first time around in 2019. The staff is nice but it doesn't defeat the fact that they could have CODE called on them at any minute. Because they now have ROACHES and the FOOD MAY BE EXPIRED because it doesn't taste good anymore. Wouldn't recommend this place anymore.

The food wasn't too bad. I saw a fly when I walked in. Not really bothered by it. He'll, I could've let the fly in. But, we were seated. Our waiter wiped the table down. 10 to 15 minutes into our meal I saw these tiny black bugs crawling on our table. I didn't make a fuss. I gathered my kids, paid for our meal and left. Thanks, but no thanks.

Don't go here on a weeknight after 8. It's a pretty small buffet selection as it is, and everything was just kinda warm, and you can tell it had been sitting a while. I guess if there's not a lot of traffic, it doesn't get refreshed. Nothing was swapped out while I was there because all dishes were at least half full. But, like the egg rolls had been sitting so long they were spongy, not crispy. Everything was like.. okay. Nothing was great. Nothing was fresh. So, yeah, it is my fault for trying this place or too late on a weeknight,. If I am ever passing through again I might give it another go. The restaurant itself is lovely and clean and staff was nice!

On 1-7-2025 the wife and I were headed home after Dr appointment in Dallas. We were hungry so decided to eat at one of our favorite Chinese restaurants even though it was out of our way. The food was cold and soft. It’s usually hot and crispy and made me lose my appetite. When we paid they asked how our experience was. So I was honest and asked if they had gotten a new cook they said no. Well I told them we drive a long way to eat here and it disappointing when it taste this bad. They didn’t offer anything for the bad experience.

My experience in this store was very poor. I didn't see anyone at the door for a long time. There was a lot of food and it didn't look clean. The man at the front desk was always meticulous as if I owed him money. I've really had enough

Decided to eat closer to where I was with my family. Big mistake. Thought it would be a great experience for the 7 of us. Then realized that my wife and children were eating sushi that was more than room temp. The rice had a slime to it. There was zero concern with the fact that I informed the manager that I had just vomited. Instead, I was verbally attacked by another employee who didn't introduce himself, but said they replaced the sushi every 2 hours and they serve it all of the time with no issue with any other customers. It can't be from the food here... well, this father/husband/son-in-law will not make the mistake of bringing the family here again. I would strongly advise you don't either.

We arrived a good hour & half(730pm) before they closed(9pm) & they did not have anymore sushi for the buffet for the night along with other items not being refilled. Ok so I normally don't do this but I got to do it today. So yesterday I took my kids to eat for my birthday and went to New Hupei. The service was trash the lady didn't even speak English. I waited about 15 mins for more tea. The food was nasty. They charge 2 dollars for the kids drinks. The waitress came a took my son's plate without asking was he done. The cashier didn't say anything but thank you come again. this place used to be good and have a awesome service. I will not be going back and will not recommend it at all. Also it was 28 dollars for me a 6 yr old and a 4 yr old to eat.

At or about 6:45 pm the restaurant was not full...just a few customers on weekday evening. Lots of food on steam tables however much of the food was barely warm. Salt & pepper shrimp was as if it had be rewarmed all day, sticky & old like. Noodles were getting sticky like they had been rinsed & reheated. Egg rolls were slightly chewy so by this point I gave up.Other meat items sampled were not as hot as should be.... Place had sticky floors & roaches. There were 5 adults & 3 children. The restaurant AUTOMATICALLY charged $15.00 tip ! For what bringing water & removing plates ?? * Will not go back...lesson learned. Sept. 2022

This experience was messy and unprofessional. His response to my wife's post demonstrates his unprofessionalism . Poor customer service. My wife and 2 children sat down and took ONE bite. It tasted old and tough. As a consumer I have a right to NOT pay for poor quality. I politely brought it to the managers attention and he tried to make me pay for food we DIDNT eat. Proceeded to say he had been there 10 years and that maybe there was something wrong with me. Then followed me to my table and started to get loud. I was trying to keep it quiet for his sake as well as his near by customers. He said he didn't care.

Service was terrible from the get go. All employees in the front of the house were on their phones the entire time my family and I were there. Saw no presence of any management at all. Restaurant was clean but I couldn't get over the smell of bleach by the buffet lines. All servers and staff should be retrained immediately. Went almost the whole time here without a refill until the last 5 minutes when I was already done eating. Hot bars could be a tad hotter inside to keep the food over room temp.

They've lost a customer. The staff will take your drink before you can stop them, and leave you thirsty while you wait for the return of a dirty glass. They will bring you your ticket before you get your second plate. And once they have brought you your ticket, they will stop serving you unless you shout or chase them down. Management Knows of this behavior, and intentionally trains them for it, but says they don't, and encourages them to act as they see fit. I've been so many times, and they are the only ones in town who at any point served my favorite dish on thier buffet, but have since stopped even that. I'm not likely to return, and I don't recommend anyone does until they start respecting thier customers time and money more.

The price you pay for buffet wasn't worth it to me. The food wasn't hot nor did it taste good, the best thing I ate was fruit. The fried crab puffs were the size of a nickel, the fried rice was too hard, the beef and jalapeño had no spice to it plus it was chewy, the snap beans were a disappointment too so I won't be going back.

Fried food was over cooked and hard, many foods had a lot too much garlic and ginger and I love garlic but this was way too much. Egg drop soup was the only thing good about the meal and my daughter had the same opinion. First time in 30 years I did not like this kind of food.

My friend and I went here around 11 or 11:30 a. m. one day. I got some fried shrimp and the green beans. I started tasting while I'm the line. The shrimp barely had any heat to them and the green beans were cold completely. I attempted incorrectly to get the woman by the door to taste but she wouldn't. I asked to have the owner come to me so I could let him know the food was cold. When he came to the table I told him I love eating there but I had a complaint. I told him the food was cold. He said for me to come with him. He took my plate and dumped it. I thought he would make sure the food was hot and I would continue to eat. I was wrong. He said he didn't want any problems and I needed to leave. They had already taken my friends food and dumped it too. I told him I still wanted to eat there and he said no and kicked me out. I told him that was bad customer service. We left and I will never go there again. I reported him to the city for serving cold food. I don't recommend anyone to go to their restaurant. Cold food and bad service.

The rice that was in the buffet not well cook. Still have the crunch of a uncooked rice.

So very upset!! I had the rice and Honey chicken there was a 3/4 inch piece of bone inside my chicken. That is hazardous and quite painful to bite into! I will not ever return! Selection of food was minimal and poorly seasoned!
