Sugo is a standout spot in Rolling Hills and the South Bay. The mix of Korean, Italian, and Brazilian flavors makes it one-of-a-kind, and you can tell a lot of care goes into everything. The portions are generous, and the quality of the food really shines. We started with the Pão de Queijo, Brazilian cheese popovers with lime aioli. They were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and cheesy on the inside—comfort food done right. The aioli added just the right amount of tangy flavor to make them addictive. The corn masa empanadas were another winner—hot and flaky, with a rich and flavorful filling. The chimichurri sauce on the side was fresh, zesty, and complemented them perfectly. The hot honey soppressata pizza was one of the highlights. The crust was light and crispy, the soppressata was top-quality, and the balance of sweet and spicy from the hot honey made every bite pop with flavor. The stone pot bibimbap with bulgogi beef was just as impressive. The beef was tender and packed with flavor, and the homemade kimchi added a bold, tangy kick. Served sizzling hot, it had that perfect mix of textures and flavors. The honey-glazed Szechuan chicken sliders were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in a perfectly sticky, spicy-sweet glaze. The pickled cabbage added a refreshing crunch, and the portions were more than generous. My daughter got the chicken fettuccine from the kids' menu, and it was creamy, flavorful, and kid-approved. Overall, the food was fantastic—bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and generous portions. The service was friendly and attentive, making for an all-around great experience. Sugo is definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to.
I definitely recommend this place! Last night, we came with a large group and didn’t have a reservation. The staff was extremely accommodating and pleasant. The decor and ambiance is modern and the lightening is warm. I loved that they had a mix of tables and plush booths. The space is large but feels intimate and family friendly. There is a bar area—perfect for date night or ladies night! I would like to give a big THANK YOU to Josie who served our table. She was the BEST! Again, we had at least 15 people in our group. She had the drinks and food out on time. She was so pleasant and upbeat! I was expecting delays just because we had so many people but we didn’t. Josie brought out this Brazilian bread “Pao de Queijo” for the table. It was warm and crunchy on the outside with a cheese interior. A must have! We had the calamari, which was breaded lightly with a nice crunch. It was served with two sauces. The kids menu had so many options (not just pizza, butter noodles and chicken nuggets). They had salmon, sliders, fettuccine, and bulgogi bowl to mention a few! Our table tried the pork belly sliders, seafood pan roast, modena salad, and truffle pizza! It’s a hidden gem—a place where you can have an authentic, upscale experience and bring the whole family. Location was perfect. Now with PV Promanade bringing new experiences to the mall, it’s nice to have Sugo Social as an option! We will be coming back for sure! I’ll post some pictures of what we ordered from the menu.
Checked it out after hearing a few good things, and it ended up being a solid spot. The place has a nice, relaxed vibe — kind of a mix of Korean, Italian, and Brazilian flavors, which sounds random but actually works well. We tried the Chicken Empanadas, Seafood Pan Roast, Octopus Pasta, Stone Pot Bibimbap, and the Hot Honey Sopressata Pizza. The Seafood Pan Roast and Octopus Pasta were my faves. Portions were decent and you can tell they use quality ingredients. Service was friendly and the space itself feels modern but comfortable. Overall, it’s a nice neighborhood spot to grab dinner or drinks without feeling too fancy or too casual. I’d definitely come back, especially for happy hour or to try a few more dishes.
We had great dinner with our partners and food was so good .
Hidden Gem, for sure! I always try to find seafood pan roast in Southern California. It's one of my favorite meals, especially after trying the pan roast at the Oyster Bar at the Palace Station. After having Sugo's Pan Roast, I don't feel the need to drive to Vegas. The food was absolutely delicious. It is a fusion restaurant of American, Brazilian, Italian, and Korean. I haven't tried anything Korean yet from the restaurant, but I can't wait to go back and try it. After placing an order order, I drove to pick it up. The restaurant is part of the Promenade in Palos Verdes, so there was plenty of parking in the garage. I had to walk a bit and go up the restaurant stairs. I did see on the website that the restaurant provides curb side pick up, haha. I might do that next time if I ever do another to go order. Picking up my order was quick. I couldn't wait and had a slice of pizza in my car as it was warm and ready. Pizza was not too bad. It was a bit heavy on the sauce, but everything else was delicious. Great amount of cheese and high quality type of cheese as well is used. Pepperoni's were tasty. Crust was good and had a nice crunch. Solid Pizza. Would order the pizza again. Finally, I made it back home and tried the Brazilian cheese bread. It was complimentary, so I didn't expect much from it. Pão de queijo was amazing! The sauce that came with it had hints of Chives and just perfect. The bread was so nice and fluffy with a hint of cheese as well. I've tried a lot of different pão de queijo, yet I might say this is one of the best ones. The seafood pan roast. Too good. I've been craving it the next day. Good amount for the price. Had it for 2 meals. It's really delicious. Best pan roast in Southern California. Plenty of shrimp, it felt like Bubba Gump's shrimp boat in the pan roast. They had fresh crab in it as well. Really wonderful. Highly recommend the seafood pan roast to anyone! Will return, hope the business is successful because it is certainly deliciously.
Finally, Great Pizza in Palos Verdes! Sugo Social is a true gem for pizza lovers in the Palos Verdes area. Their Neapolitan-style pizzas, crafted in an authentic wood-fired oven, are nothing short of exceptional. While the style leans more toward a creative fusion than traditional Neapolitan, the chef has done an outstanding job blending originality with classic techniques. We tried the truffle pizza with a delightful variety of mushrooms that added depth and texture, as well as the spicy soppressata and honey pizza, which struck the perfect balance of heat and sweetness. Both pizzas were incredible, from the light, flavorful dough to the thoughtful layering of ingredients. To top it off, we were treated to a complimentary pastry paired with a delicious dipping sauce, which doubled as a fantastic way to enjoy the pizza crusts. The service was equally impressive—attentive, friendly, and efficient. We can’t wait to return and explore the rest of the menu. If you’re in the area, Sugo Social is a must-visit!
Tried a few of the most recommended dishes and faves were the pizza, cheese bread and pan roast. All kinds of fusion but a good mix..! Elegant, crisp decor and atmosphere, felt very high end. Fun and engaging staff!!
First time here, good service, good food, tasty and good quality. Had a good time with my friend, will come back soon.
Wine, appetizers are delicious and pretty. I will be back for entrees with my fam. Ambiance is gorgeous and comfy. Can’t wait to eat here again
This place is seriously so good. The seafood pan roast is more of a soup / bisque. I don't care what they call it, I'm definitely ordering again

My family’s favorite place to eat. Everything we’ve ever had has been delicious I’m not sure why it’s not more popular. The sirloin, seafood pan, pork belly and chicken empanadas and they way to go. A little pricey but great food.
Sugo has quickly become our favorite restaurant in the South Bay. The food is incredible and everything is such high quality. This restaurant deserves so much hype. It’s worth going out of your way for trust me it will not disappoint!!! Vibes are great, it’s such a pretty place and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. 10/10 highly recommend!
Comfortable lounge couches, attentive staff, and amazing food. I grew up with a parent who went to culinary school in France and have eaten at a few high end restaurants. I can say that Sugo is the best food I've had in all Redondo/Torrance/PVE. All the items are so unique in their taste. Even the flan, which normally tastes mostly the same no matter the restaurant, was made to taste different than anything I've had before (and better). This beat Nobu Malibu by a long shot. Even the pizza was unlike anything I've had before. What wins me over is how unique every dish is. It's not just good, it's unique and tastes different than any other dish of its kind.
We had a reservation for 2 at Sugo Social and they were kind enough to still honor happy hour pricing even though we walked in literally a minute past the cut-off (we really appreciated that flexibility!). We started with complimentary cheese bread and shared the Chicken Empanadas, the Chicken Karaage, the Szechuan Chicken Sliders, and the Caesar salad; everything was hot, crisp, flavorful, and much better than bar snacks have any right to be. The portions are a bit smaller and the offerings are slightly different from what is listed online, but at $10 a dish it still feels like a deal. The chicken karaage and sliders in particular had great texture and just enough heat. We even liked everything enough to order an Italian Chopped Salad to go (sadly for us, this was regular pricing). Overall, the food and service made this feel like a hidden gem in the area. Definitely a spot we'd come back to for late-afternoon drinks and snacks again.
10/10 all around!! we walked in and was greeted by Gloria who was very kind, the food was absolutely delicious everything was freshly made and brought out to us within minutes. the new upgraded place is very beautiful! i definitely recommend everyone to try this hidden gem out. WILL BE COMING BACK:)

Had a couple drinks at the bar here, and this place is so beautiful!! Clean and very friendly bartender. Delicious food too!

Live locally but had not been here yet. We went last night and had excellent service from a young woman who knew the menu very well. Reasonable procea. The place is really nice very clean and their menu is mostly Italian and Korean had plenty to choose from The Smoky old-fashioned was served in a smoke box. The ginger mint drink is refreshing. Wonderful presentation made with lots of love. We had the chicken karage, modena salad, asparagus with breadcrumbs and their popovers before our meal was SO good. This place is closer to the movie Theater side, one floor below. Everyone here was very nice, the service here is EXCEPTIONAL. Definitely coming back often. This shopping center is under new ownership and getting upgraded with a few more restaurants coming soon on the first floor.

The moment I tasted their Sichuan Fried Chicken Slicers, I know the Chef/Owner knows about Asian/Chinese food. The fried chicken is battered with Sichuan peppercorn which leaves a unique numbing taste on your tongue. That’s the spirit of Sichuan. Pork Belly Bao Buns also taste good and juicy. Both exceeded my expectations. The entries we had didn’t turn out as good. The bibimbap is okay. Saw truffle pasta picture on yelp with tons of shaved truffles but when it’s served, no single shaved truffles - just some bacon and mushroom. Very disappointed.
I was searching for new places to go to for my birthday dinner and I found this one. It was kind of hard finding the restaurant because Google leads you to the entrance of the ice skating rink, but it’s actually located in the plaza. My husband and I went on a Tuesday evening at 6:45pm, when we walked into the restaurant we were amazed at the entrance. It’s literally a huge hallway/ room for just the entrance. When we walked in the decor was very well styled and felt classy and modern. We were seated in a booth and I really liked it because it felt very private but cozy. I looked on Yelp to help me decide what to order we had the pan roast ( which was delicious and super flavorful with seafood in every bite!) They gave us 2 of the pao de quejo complimentary, they were light airy and just a little chewy, what made it really special was the sauce, not really sure what it was made of but it had a slight tangy taste kind of like sour cream, a salad (which was really good too, the butter lettuce was soft and it had candied walnuts in it which really took it to the next level ), and lastly we had the sirloin steak which came with Brussels sprouts and fries I ordered it medium. I think out of all the plates that was my least favorite, might’ve been the cut of the meat but it was kind of tough to chew. But the flavors were still really great. Overall my experience was better then I expected and I definitely want to go again to try their unique pizzas and pastas! I think the venue would be good for groups as well, the restaurant is huge, hopefully they stay open for awhile!

Very sad that they changed the way how their branzino is made. The fish costing $52 is reasonable. However, the way how their branzino is made before with the stuffing was super good. That is the only thing I look forward to. The appetizer was the only highlight, pao de quijo.

Update -- LOWERING RATING to 2.9/5 -- Why? The food quality has gone done since about June. When they do it right, the food is delicious, but the inconsistency has discouraged return visits. We used to go to SUGO maybe 2 -3 times a month and now we go maybe once every other month and are hesitant to even do that. What's interesting is that I've talked to friends and neighbors who feel the same way and have stopped going as a result. There's just too much inconsistency paired with subpar service. SUGO's pizzas, for example, can be 10/10. But sometimes there's barely any cheese, sometimes it's too oily, sometimes the crust is burnt around the rim. Sometimes it doesn't look burned but turns out the bottom unerneath is burned. I think they must've gotten new cooks because a lot of stuff that used to be amazing is less amazing and burned items are being served too. I've tried to offer this feedback, but it seems the chefs/cooks have big egos because, rather than apologize and try to do better, they get defensive. I was served black rice (not crispy, BLACK) and when I complained I was told by the waitress that the kitchen said that is how Koreans like their rice and I just don't know what I'm talking about. How insulting is that? Anyone can tell the difference between crispy and straight burned, so being told that black rice is okay and I'm the one with the problem . . . well, not sure if this restaurant is in a race to go out of business, but that's not how you get customers to come back. SUBPAR SERVICE: Most staff members run around looking pretty frazzled. They're not fully trained on the menu. (Which may not be their fault because the restaurant can't seem to decide on a menu; they change it regularly.) We've also found that some waiters are just not qualified. Whoever is training them is not doing a good job, and they really need an experienced manager to show them how to do things and teach them quality standards for dealing with guests. I've had more than one experience where the servers have been rude. There's a waitress named Bailey, in particular, who SEEMS nice but has a lot of attitude and ego. AMAZING FOOD WHEN DONE PROPERLY: My family and I have tried probably half the menu by now. Some of the most noteworthy items include: the Bibimbap (but share it; it's huge), the octopus pasta (ask for double tomatoes in the sauce; wow, can these chefs cook octopus), the chicken (get it with a side of fries), the pizza (they make their own delicious dough), and their take on a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich (also get it with a side of fries; holy bananas, this thing is amazing)!! SADLY, I don't know if they changed chefs around May/June, but the food isn't as good as it used to be. A lot of things are burned and, like I said, inconsistent. ROUGH DESSERTS: When done right, the food gets an A+. But I've never had a dessert from here above a C. I've tried a super basic cookie, a brownie that lacks dimension, and the worst is their Korean hotteok (a pancake with vanilla ice cream). The concept is good, but it's so poorly executed it's actually funny. These are supposed to be soft inside and crispy outside. SUGO's has a tough, rubbery top akin to chewing on a sandal, and the bottom is so shockingly hard that it is nearly impossible to cut through. You know how you really know something is wrong with a pancake?? When your waitress comes over with two steak knives (unprompted) and says that people usually need these to cut through the dessert. You're telling me with a straight face that you don't see anything wrong with a pancake that requires TWO STEAK KNIVES to cut though?? LOL! OVERALL: My family used to love this place. I have friends who used to love this place. I'm not sure what happened, but I hope SUGO gets its act together because there are a lot of restaurants to give your business to, and there is a dark cloud hanging over SUGO right now in terms of consistency and service that discourages you from going there. ***I will gladly raise my rating if SUGO raises its service and food to what it used to be!
They seated us on a table after 45 minutes wait. After about 10 minutes wait then a person approached us and introduced himself as our waiter which we only saw him one more time during the evening. The food came separately for each one of us (we were 4 people at the table). By the time the last person food came our food was cold. We had to ask several time each time a different waiter for just water. Very disappointed
Restaurant was so uncomfortably cold and staff would not close the doors. Bartender very shifty on our drink orders. We were up charged $15.00 for Tito’s making our drinks $30 per person. Also asked if we had to have the orange and cherry in old fashion. Wow! A lot of good restaurants to choose from and this isn’t one of them!
