3 or 4 Stars Food: I’m a huge fan of Hawaiian ribs, so I was excited for these. While the texture was actually spot on, the meat itself had a distinct "refrigerator" or previously frozen taste, rather than being fresh. There was also a bit too much gristle for my liking. Service: The service, however, was 5-star! Our waiter was incredibly friendly and made sure our waters were constantly topped off. Atmosphere: As an out-of-state visitor, it was such a treat to eat under the California palm trees. LA is massive, but this was a beautiful spot to enjoy the scenery.
Auntie Molly’s Saigon Hawaiian breakfast is my go-to order — it’s absolutely delicious. Who wouldn’t want noodles for breakfast? The eggs and sautéed vegetables are especially flavorful and always cooked perfectly. I still need to explore more of the menu, but everything I’ve tried so far has been satisfying. Their desserts are also a highlight, particularly the coconut cream dessert (I can’t recall the Hawaiian name, but it’s fantastic). The only downside is that meals are served in to-go containers, even when dining in. It takes away slightly from the overall experience. Still, the food itself keeps me coming back. I’d confidently give it 4 out of 5 stars.
This was the highlight of my trip to California. The local Hawaiian music was outstanding! The male and female dancers from the audience performing hula were outstanding! It was a heartwarming experience and worth the long drive to see it. By the way, the food was excellent and the staff brimmed over with genuine Aloha.
Food was great. We had the garlic shrimp and short ribs and it was perfect. I'd definitely return. The atmosphere was chill, nothing fancy but also plenty of outdoor seats so we didn't have trouble finding a seat late in the day.
The food was incredible! 😋 I ordered the garlic shrimp mini plate with rice and mac salad. Even for a "mini" portion, they were generous with the jumbo shrimp, and it was very filling. The service is exceptional—the staff is so attentive and friendly. Clean, great vibes, and a must-visit for a delicious meal! Highly recommend!!!
The way the place looks is very beautiful inside and outside and the food taste amazing. The only thing that kinda got me was the max salad for me. It was too much black pepper. I prefer the Ono Mac but honestly, I can deal with it because the food is amazing. Grabbed the Furikake which is seaweed taste, but tastes amazing, and the Korean chicken was very good also the beef teriyaki was very tender and flavorful also, they had very good customer service would recommend
Brought my Ohana to this place that was recommended to me by a co-worker. Drove about 1.5hrs to get there with L.A. traffic. The food DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Auntie Maile's is serving up some onolicious grinds straight from the Islands. The place was busy only because the food was the real deal. The Service was very good, You could feel the Aloha spirit!! I ordered the Katsu Chicken plate and the Fam ordered Terry Chicken plate, Katsu Bento Box, Roasted Pork, Shrimp Plate. Everything was cooked with love to perfection. They even had a local band playing music that set You at ease. Thank You Aunty Maile's for bringing the taste of Hawaii in the L.A. area. Love You Guys!!
On a quick day trip to LA, I wanted to grab a quick breakfast not too far from LAX. I saw something on YouTube about this place so I figured I’d give it a try. Walking in I was immediately greeted and told what the day’s specials are. I read through the menu and decided to try the Roast Pork Loco Moco. After sitting down i waited a few minutes when a huge food container was placed in front of me. I opened up what could easily be the food equivalent to Lunesta! This dish was soaked in gravy with the egg on top of a huge piece of roast pork. Each bite was delicious and the gravy (which is house made) was fantastic! I got about 2/3’s in and I literally couldn’t cram another bite into my mouth. As for the restaurant, it’s a no-frills type of place that serves up great dishes and sells products from Hawaii. Service wise, amazing! The gentleman at the counter was friendly and checked in to see if I hadn’t passed out a couple times. If you’re in the neighborhood looking for some Hawaiian Grindz, make this your stop!
I have been wanting to try this place for a few months and finally went today! It was pretty busy but they did a great job taking orders while people were waiting in line. I got the Mix Plate with Furikake Chicken and Garlic Shrimp and it was delicious! The chicken reminded me so much of a place I ate at when I visited Oahu and I can’t wait to go back. One thing that really stood out is the team member who took my order also came around to check on everyone in the dining area and he mentioned me by name which was a personal touch that made this an overall excellent experience!
My sister sent me a tiktok while I was at work about this place and I promised we’d go try it out after work and it did not disappoint!! While getting our food the cashier was nice enough to charge me a Ube cake slice and after our meal I had to buy 3 more cakes to go!!! 1000/10 stars, will definitely be back soon, the food is amazing and so were the vibes inside the store. Everyone was very welcoming! Wasn’t able to get a picture of the cake slices bc I ate them but everything was soooo good! Can’t wait to come back again!
2nd time coming here and loving it even more then the first time. There's always parking in the shopping plaza but both times I've came, once on a weekday and this time on a Saturday, the restaurant is packed. The only difference is on weekends, they apparently have bands playing and hula dancing as well. The Kalbi short ribs is def our favorite here and the macaroni salad and rice that comes with it pairs perfectly with it. We also tried the teriyaki chicken and poki avo style. Both are delicious! The teriyaki flavor is just right and chicken is soft. The tuna taste fresh and it's soft but next time I'd ask for less soy sauce as it was a bit too salty for me to eat it plain without rice. But that's personal preference so no complaints here. Overall: we love the service here and food is great for the price they charge. And judging by the amount of people that comes, everyone feels the same way. This is def our go to place when we're craving for Hawaiian food!
Ran across this place by accident. Had an appointment near by and this was the closest place to eat. Im a big fan of Hawaiian food and this didn't disappoint.. ive been to hawaii many times and never had chicken as good as what i had here. Furikake chicken maybe best chicken dish i have ever eaten. Garlic shrimp were good as well. Everyone that i came in contact with that worked there were great. Place was super packed and found a seat after a few minutes. Lots of seating outside but was raining the day i was there. Next time would definitely like to try the poke but would need an order of the chicken to go.
For those who remember the original Island Flavor in Las Vegas, Aunty Maile was the heart and soul of the establishment. Aunty Maile has since brought her culinary magic to Torrance, California, with Aunty Maile’s Hawaiian Restaurant, and it’s nothing short of a homecoming for our taste buds. From the moment you step in, the aroma of traditional Hawaiian dishes envelops you, transporting you straight to the islands. The meat jun is tender and flavorful, a testament to Aunty Maile’s dedication to preserving authentic recipes. The fried rice is a delightful medley of perfectly seasoned rice and fresh ingredients, making it a must-try. The chicken katsu boasts a crispy exterior with juicy, succulent meat inside, while the kalua pig offers a smoky, melt-in-your-mouth experience that’s hard to find outside Hawaii. The garlic chicken is a harmonious blend of savory and sweet, leaving you craving more. For beef lovers, the kalbi is marinated to perfection, delivering a burst of flavors with every bite. Don’t miss out on the long rice, a comforting dish that warms the soul, or the oxtail soup, which is rich, hearty, and reminiscent of home-cooked family meals. Aunty Maile’s commitment to quality and authenticity shines through in every dish. It’s evident that she pours her heart into her cooking, ensuring that each plate served carries the true spirit of Hawaiian cuisine. In a world where authentic Hawaiian food can be hard to come by, Aunty Maile’s Hawaiian Restaurant stands out as a testament to tradition, flavor, and the enduring legacy of its beloved founder.
This modest, fast-paced Hawaiian restaurant has all the favorites you’d expect. The line can seem a bit intimidating, but it moves quickly and is totally worth the wait. The staff is friendly, efficient, and welcoming. I got the combo plate, which was more than enough food with some left over. I highly recommend the Garlic Shrimp (a must!), Furikake Chicken, and upgrading to the Pork Fried Rice. Everything was delicious! I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes. Expect to spend around $25 per person. This place is my new favorite Hawaiian spot in Torrance/South Bay!
Great selection of hawaiian dishes from kalua pork to garlic shrimp. They even have poke. Generous entree portions and friendly service. Beef teriyaki beef grade is mid. If you use a credit card they charge a fee. any extra sauce they charge. They don't have potato Mac salad, it's macaroni salad only, that comes in a separate small container.
As a first timer I was disappointed that they didn’t serve poke but that disappointment slowly faded once I ordered Hawaiian food. The hamburger steak and beef teriyaki steak was the highlight of the show. The steak tender with every bite. Everything super flavorful. I hope the next time I go they have poke available.
Food was great, we ordered the Korean Chicken and some spam musubi. However, I went in for a pickup, lady at the cashier skipped me while I was clearly standing there for some time, and she asked the next customer if he was picking up. It upset me because she didnt go in order while I was patiently waiting for my turn.
