Opinions de Cinco Los Angeles
Great place. Friendly, attentive but not obnoxious staff. Excellent mezcal marg. Excellent tacos al pastor. Great little happy hour. Highly recommend.
Cinco provides contemporary Mexican cuisine with innovative dishes and a lively ambiance. Its extensive drink menu and modern decor make it suitable for casual dining, celebrations, or social outings.
Cinco is a true hidden gem just moments from Loyola Marymount University in Westchester, Los Angeles. Recommended by our daughter, I was instantly captivated by how incredibly delicious the food was—every dish we tried was perfect. The friendly, attentive service made our experience even more enjoyable. With its lively sports-bar atmosphere, Cinco is a favorite among locals seeking authentic Mexican flavors that are both amazing and affordable. Definitely give Cinco a try—you won't be disappointed!
The food was excellent. Service was good, just a little slow, but it was quite busy. You can tell it's a great neighborhood hangout, and there was a hotly contested ball game going on. It was a great value. Regular drink prices were great for california and the happy hour.Drink prices that we were able to get were phenomenal. Highly recommend spicy passion, fruit, margarita and the holy agave.
This is the absolute best restaurant we had in all of California. The prices are reasonable, the service is great, and the atmosphere is unmatched, especially for an evening candlelit romantic dinner. The burrito with barbacoa was perfectly made and tasted fantastic, and the grilled corn is fresh, crunchy, and delicious. The house-made flan was the best flan we’ve ever had. Highly recommend dining here!!
A very nice and stylish restaurant with high quality ingredients and a creative menu with Oaxacan specialties. We love the chicken wings, they are some of the best in LA imo and I eat a lot of wings LOL. They come with a spicy tamarindo sauce and a delicious cilantro lime crema. The brunch menu includes chicken mole enchiladas 😋 Some other highlights are the barbacoa and Al pastor street tacos, the vegetarian mushroom memelas and the tlayuda. The cocktails are also tasty and creative, and very instagrammable
DEDICATED STAFF + AMAZING HAPPY HOUR We've been coming here for quite a long time. Each time it's been consistent and enjoyable. The place is always packed with professional locals. The happy hour is quite possibly the best, most underrated happy hour in Playa. The tacos, barbacoa even, are four for 6$. Get these with the queso funditio and chips as an appetizer, along with a few house cocktails and you'll be happy. The food has a lot of flavor, so you don't need much hot salsa. Their house made salsa is mild. They do offer Tapatio. I do secretly wish they made their own in-house spicy salsa. I feel like the staff who works here would know how to cultivate that, but they do what works. There is definitely an understanding though, that a custom heat might take it to the next level, but personally, I'm always chasing that hot sauce dragon. 🐉 10/10 will go again.
Cinco is a really neat restaurant. The service was fantastic and quick, which is always a plus. We had the nachos to begin and they were okay. They could definitely add more cheese and cut up the jalapeños to be easier to enjoy. The meals were beautifully plated and tasty. The plates are a little pricy, but it’s an experience. Overall, definitely worth a visit.
I got a burrito to go. The tortilla was excellent with a good chew. It seemed like they made it in house. I was missing flavor on the burrito and the pork was under seasoned in my opinion. The burrito could improve with additional sauces or salsas. Good value for the price, it could have fed 2.
Got the Shrimp Tacos based on the waitress’s recommendation. They are probably the best I’ve ever had! The Oaxacan Wings had a nice little kick but I couldn’t really taste the tamarind. The Quesabirria Tacos were just okay. They'd be better if they're a bit more oily and cheesy. Love that they have a dog-friendly patio with heaters too! Perfect spot to hang out with your pup.
Great spot with a relaxed vibe and a nice, dog-friendly outdoor area. Generous happy hour till 7 PM most days (except Sunday) — the margarita was excellent. Good parking options too, with a free lot and some free street parking. Tacos weren’t my favorite — the shell tasted a bit stale — but overall a good place for drinks and hanging out.
Rode my bike🚲 to Cinco and made it for happy hour just in time. I was not greeted by a hostess for a few minutes so I approached a worker about seating. I was told they were at capacity. The restaurant didn't look full (I was confused by that comment ) but I asked if I could just sit at the bar. Found a seat at the bar and Ordered street tacos and a drink. The bartender was nice and the tacos tasted great. Probably wouldn't visit again but the couple sitting next to me seemed to enjoy their time. Outdoor seating area looked nice.
Seated immediately in a booth. Made it in time for Happy hour, till 7 pm, prices on drinks and food specials. The 4 street tacos were packed with meat. Choice of chicken, carnitas, al pastor , barbacoa. Their chips are freshly made and served hot. Extra $ with guacamole and salsa. We refills on the chips not automatic but we asked and rec'd. I ordered the 1/2 chicken mole, comes with white rice. The mole was thick, fair, but strong on the red Chile powder (?). Chicken tender. Pricey-$25. Flan very good. We split it between the 4 . Service good, we had 2 different servers.
My bf loves this place. Back in the he was a regular fixture at the bar. I must admit I have not had any of the food here, but have enjoyed the drinks. Their specials I think taste great and are constantly changing. One of the regular drinks I enjoy is the punch.... darn I can't remember the exact name... pancho's punch? But regardless it is good. The service here is super cool and friendly. They have TVs around but no sound as it's not a sport bar. So if you're looking for a cool place to watch the game this place is fine, just no sound. There is music in the background. _________________ Finally came here recently 2/2019 and tried their happy hour food selection. The food menu is very small only offering 3 items.... tacos, burrito and queso fundido. The drink had a more to offer. So I got one of each taco and for$1 during happy hour, that's an awesome deal. They offer soy, pollo, al pastor, carniras and barbacoa. All equally delicious but my favs would be the carnitas and the barbacoa. The tomatillo sauce I thought was delicious and went perfectly with the carnitas. The red sauce had a nice heat to it. The queso fundido came with plenty of what I believe were in house made tortilla chips. They were so yummy and nicely lightly salted and the perfect size. The cheese came with a chorizo on top which added great flavor. For drinks I stuck with the paloma. Delicious and hit of very light spice as it was rimmed with spicy salt. The bf got a spicy margarita. And it was spicy infused with jalapenos.
This place is regularly raved about from my peers but was underwhelmed and disappointed during happy hour. Went on a Saturday happy hour and did not enjoy my happy hour chicken tacos – neither did my friends for their happy hour barbacoa & carnitas tacos. Meat was bland, the sauce was off putting, and I found bones in my chicken tacos! However, other than the food, the beverages are great. My friends love the alcoholic drinks and I also think their non-alcoholic drinks are great. Parking is plenty, there’s a small parking lot beside it with plenty of street parking as well. I would recommend going for the drinks, not necessarily their happy hour food specials. Perhaps the food from the regular menu is better but I have not yet tried.
Got a tip to check this place out. We opted for outdoor seating which is under a massive tent. Lots of seats outside which was attractive for groups with kiddos, dogs or both. The indoor area had a mix of booth, tables and bar seating. We were hoping to start with nachos but it came with our meal. It was massive. Since it was happy hour, the tacos and Palomas were on special. We were hoping for something mellower so this was a bit much. However, it would have been good if we were with a group and wanted a night out.
