Opinions de Doubting Thomas Los Angeles
You will love this place, especially when you need a break from your office. They don't mind if you take your laptop in and work while you eat. I don't do that, but I see a lot of people doing it at Doubting Thomas. They are only open for breakfast and lunch and their menu is geared toward that. This is woman owned -breakfast, brunch, lunch hideout. The staff is wonderful and seem to enjoy working there. They are very friendly and they are fast. You order from a counter and they will being you the most delicious meals. You will love it. You can sit in the dining room that has floor to ceiling windows or outside on Temple Street. It can get busy with lots of people eating and on their computers. There are plug ins everywhere. We are always inside so I don't know if the outdoor seating has plug ins. The menu has something for everyone. A vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or someone like me, a meat lover can and will find something they love. All of their food is fresh and locally sourced. They have the best eggs with the most yummy orange yokes. Just the best. The Thomas breakfast is great with wonderful bacon, eggs and a biscuit. Their avocado toast is amazing with smashed avocado, shallots, chive oil, lemon, radish all on sprouted rye. Amazing. For lunch try the pork belly rice bowl filled with pork, fresh from the market greens, champagne mustard, yummy house pickles, one sunny side up egg, and cilantro. It is magical. The coffee is perfect and never old tasting. It is just great. Their pastries are all out for display in a pastry case. They are all great. They also have fresh pies and cakes and that changes, but all are good. I would order a cake from them (you can on their website) but they are a tad pricey for my budget. The area is always clean and everyone is nice. Have fun.
Love this spot to work remotely from for a couple of hours. Yes items are pricey but after all it’s LA and you’re kinda paying for “a scene” kinda vibe. Anyway, ONLY constructive criticism for the owners would be that your staff talks so loud (to each other) it sounds like they are screaming. It’s wild how loud they are. Please use your inside voices
Absolutely delicious. I had a pain au chocolat and pork belly rice bowl, both stunningly flavorful. Everything from the texture to the presentation was perfectly executed. The produce taste fresh, and so do the pastries. I can’t recommend this place enough! (+ bonus points for the service, water fountain, and atmosphere!)
This place has delicious food and the ambiance is great. A must for anyone who is looking for an alternative breakfast experience. Their pastries are unique and awesome tasting. Don't miss out on those! I generally highly recommend this place. This being said, I would recommend the manager to reconsider how to handle the cashier situation. We ordered our food and had waited in a busy line until it was our turn. After sitting down, I decided that it would be nice to get a warm drink, but I was told that I had to wait in line again to get my item. Certainly not what I want to do after already having waited in line the first time. Ringing up an extra item on the side should not be such a big deal. Chipotle does this all the time with Chips& Guac... I recommend to visitors to kow what you order when in line the first time, unless you want to wait multiple times in long lines.
This place never misses, the food is delicious - only trumped by the amazing cakes, tarts and pastries. Their baker is an artist.
Uh…THOMAS!! I have NO doubts! 😂 I got the burrito with the skirt steak and my food was so beautiful and tasty. Worth every penny. I can't stop talking about it!
I love this coffee bar! It’s a great addition to the neighborhood and has a ton of natural light. Smooth great tasting coffee and the food is just as good. I got the Thomas breakfast burrito (my favorite so far) and my friend got the chicken salad sandwich which was just as good. Both were filled with flavor and good sized portions.
Beautifully designed space. Warm wood, windows running the full length and white walls and ceiling create a clean, breezy, inviting atmosphere. Most of the dishes are creative a unlike normal menu items making this a food adventure. I had the veggie rice bowl. Warm white rice with cool greens, sauteed trumpet mushrooms, a fried egg and a lip-smacking dressing with a little kick. Nice balance of temperatures, textures and flavors. For dessert I grabbed a perfectly baked rectangular macaroon with berries inside.
Great brunch spot. Excellent customer service. Amazing food. Worth every penny but prices are in the $$ range so budget eaters are encouraged to come prepared. Great selection of baked goods too. Flavors are unique and the menu is really well designed. The ambiance is great. I recommend the veggie quesadilla (it's amongst one of the popular items). Will return for more 🙃
Doubting Thomas is an interesting name for a cafe. I have no doubt about this though: it is an exciting place to get pastries and breakfasts. I visited Doubting Thomas on several occasions and always find something nice to try. I started with the croissants as always. In fact, even though the cafe opens at 7am, the butter croissant wasn't available until around 8am during that visit. But then of course it is served fresh off the oven. It's not the flakiest or crunchiest croissant I had, but the fresh warmth elevated the experience, plus the big portion and the simmering golden layers, I think it's worth the wait. When it comes to chocolate croissants, freshness means melted chocolate filling and I absolutely loved it. The ham and cheese croissant, however, was underwhelming. One other croissant I had was an almond croissant with passion fruit filling. The filling overflowed and created a little cascade as I pressed the croissant for the bite, what a delicious mess! Doubting Thomas pastry offering usually features a pie of the week. I especially enjoyed the banoffee pie. Its cream is light and its sweetness is subtle, yet combined with banana, cocoa, and caramel, it is a divine treat. I had it for breakfast and had no guilt about it. While I was there mostly to get pastries, I did try the breakfast sandy (homemade biscuit, sunny egg, sausage, cheddar, arugula, mayonnaise) and enjoyed the fresh ingredients and delicate presentation. Their food menu is rather extensive: toasts, burritos, pancakes, salads, even chicken katsu! For some items, maybe a bit expensive too.
My son took me here for breakfast the other morning and I loved everything about it! The dirty chai was one of the best I’ve ever had. The breakfast sandwich was so delicious! Everyone on staff that we came in contact with was so nice and so friendly. Before we left I grabbed a chocolate chip cookie and a slice of carrot cake. They were both good, but the carrot cake was delicious. I would buy the carrot cake over and over again.
I had such a pleasant experience at this restaurant! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. The food was served promptly, and every dish was really tasty. But the real highlight was the pastries! They were unique and delicious. I highly recommend this place!
Shouldn’t have doubted and delayed my visit for so long to this place. Sunny yet breezy LA last weekend was certainly perfect time to get some sun kisses sitting in the outdoor patio in front of the venue. They did have plenty indoor ones and worry not if you saw long line since it moved in a blink. They seemed to be super efficient with the system of having people placing orders before finding seats. Their pastries and cakes were the first ones hooking my attention, and surprise surprise people actually loved their brunch menu especially their burritos. We went for the #1 favorite, the Doubtless Burrito, following the attendant reco for a first timer. Oh my word, tons of shredded pork shoulder stuffed in the burrito with perfectly cooked egg and all the seasonings were on point! The filling portion surely worth the price. Never ever skip their Passion Fruit Pie and do hear everyone’s reco about it. The graham cracker crust people were bragging about was indeed dabomb! The slice was such flawless combo of freshly tangy fruit flavor with sweet and slightly salty base. YUMMMM!!
This place is incredible. All of their pastries are delicious and the entrees are equally tasty. Plus they have a full coffee bar. It's in a really subdued part of town as well so I've never had a wait when I showed up. My bf and I usually get at least one pastry to share and then our own breakfast dishes. I often get the pork or beef bowl which has lettuce, grains, eggs, and veg. He likes the breakfast quesadilla. The lattes are excellent.
Stopped by Doubting Thomas for brunch and ended up really liking the place. It has that relaxed neighborhood vibe, and it’s super close to Dollar Hits (Filipinos know that spot!), so it’s easy to swing by before or after. We ordered the Chai ( Muddy? Dirty? forgot) and the Seasonal Cream Top Cold Brew. Both were decent—not amazing, but not bad either. The cold brew cream top was the better one of the two. The desserts were the real highlight. The Passion Fruit Pie was bright, creamy, and had that tart kick that makes passion fruit so good. The graham + macadamia crust was buttery and crunchy without getting soggy, which is rare. The heirloom apple, blackberry & vanilla custard hand pie tasted like a warm, cozy fall dessert. Crispy outside, soft and fruity inside, and not overly sweet. You can tell they really care about their pastries. For food, we tried the Veggie Breakfast Burrito, and honestly it tasted like something you’d get at most breakfast spots..sorry to say..nothing special, but very fresh. The Thomas Burger was the stronger pick. Juicy patty, melty cheese, a soft sesame bun, and the thick-cut fries were super crisp without being greasy. Service was quick, and the cashier had a cheerful, friendly vibe, which always helps start things off right. Overall, solid brunch spot. The pastries are the real reason to come...the passion fruit pie with the graham macadamia crust is absolutely worth stopping for.
One of the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had! Absolutely loved the vibe of this place. Plenty of outdoor seating, so bring Fido. Enjoyed their cold brew coffee, and looking forward to trying their other non-coffee items. Pastries were divine. We ordered the Pear Caramel and Strawberry Danishes. Flaky, and delicious. But man oh man… that burrito. I’m going to be thinking about it for a while!! Friendly staff, clean place… really enjoyed my experience at Doubting Thomas!
Just had my first meal here. It was delish!! However more on the pricey side, would like a nicer atmosphere to match the price. Regardless, I loved my dish. I had the pork belly bowl & strawberry matcha. You can tell thought goes into their food. Will be back.
Best breakfast burrito I've ever had by far. (I've had a lot of breakfast burritos) This is the 3rd time I've had the doubtles breakfast burrito. You can tell they put a lot of love into their craft. Pork shoulder perfectly cooked with smoky notes and good spice blend, Crispy potatoes, local farm fresh eggs also perfectly cooked, freshness coming from Orange zest and cilantro, pickled hobenyero+onions on the side with a dusting of Oregano 🤌🤌🤌 Staff looks like they enjoy what they do which makes a really nice environment. Bailey is running the shop well.
Lovely cafe in Historic Filipinotown. Light seating indoors and out. That said, I wouldn't work from here for more than an hour or two. Don't be that person who sits there for more. :p Got their batch brew and was pleasantly delighted. It's bliss! Doubting Thomas roasts their own product right in Los Angeles. The kitchen is an *operation*: multiple folks baking, prepping, plating. Between the line of customers waiting for coffee and staff delivering orders and bussing, there is a happy whirlwind of activity. Love the vibe. Besides coffee, they have sweet and savory items. (I'll be back for the latter.) Credit accepted. Bathroom available. Friendly service!
Doubting Thomas was my go-to restaurant back when I lived in Filipinotown - I absolutely loved trying all of the unique menu offerings they had and the coffee was always great as well. The eggs they use are really high quality, yolks are like orange. Their breakfast burrito is probably the highlight, one of the most unique and best I've had in Los Angeles. The only thing that's tough is seating, I always struggled to find a table since it's a pretty small area. Would love to see them expand the outdoor dining area if it's possible :)
Food was good but dessert was superb! I really like pork belly rice bowl more than croissant sandwich. Service was somewhat mediocre. Young lady who served me coffee was so nice but a man who took my order was a bit lackluster. However, food and dessert made me forget everything especially a slice of passion fruit pie was legit. I never finished a slice of pie after my meal but this time I finished it all and I even thought about getting another slice 🤣 For food 8.5/10 but for Dessert 1000000/10 😆
Hands down best brunch/lunch I have had in LA. Worth a line if there is one. Was even more impressed after reading about the head chef, her dedication to using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. We had a crispy tuna rice dish, the cast iron herbed chicken sandwich and a diplomat pastry (with mulberry). All superb. the coffee is really good too. I will note the lack of plentiful seating: on a Sat/Sunday it's pretty hard to find a spot indoors and outdoors, lots of laptop surfers taking up spots I think. I also wish they were open for dinner but c'est la vie.
With all of the food choices, we have in Los Angeles, hands-down, Doubting Thomas is in a league of its own. This independent, woman owned -breakfast, brunch, lunch oasis has the best of all worlds; delicious food, friendly and warm staff and esthetically beautiful surroundings. You can either sit in the dining room that has floor to ceiling windows or outside on Temple under a covered patio. I'll probably post a lot of photos of the food I've eaten over the years! The menu has something for everyone whether it's vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or for pork belly or beef lovers. And the daily handmade desserts are not only mouthwateringly delicious for your stomach, but a feast for the eyes! The doubtless breakfast burrito you can order anytime, I especially like it and order it with a runny egg. It's made some of LA's best burritos list. If you want a vegetarian version there is one available. The tomatillo sauce along with the fermented veggies that come on the side are unforgettable. Simple salad is not simple at all, it is absolutely delicious and really an entire meal in itself. Kale salad has become a favorite of my out-of-town friends because it is so fresh and towering. The chef shops at the santa monica farmers market weekly and the care that she puts into choosing the produce is really apparent. Eggs always have the brightest orange yolks. I could go on and on about the food, but you can read about other choices and the other reviews! I love the fresh made berry iced teas and lemonades and often ask for an Arnold Palmer. Especially if I'm not too too late and they haven't run out of tea or lemonade! The fig leaf cold brew is also a favorite and everyone swears by the coffee. I'm always amazed that the seating is always self regulating. Well, there may be a short line in front of the cash register. You can always seem to find a seat either at the bar facing Temple St, the communal table or the tables for two inside or out. As soon as you walk in, you are faced with 2 yards of pastries in a pastry case. ALWAYS ORDER A PASTRY, even if it's to go! Passionfruit pie, banana, bread, banoffee pie, the cookies, the gorgeous cake for those who want something not too sweet. There is no table service though it's always nice to be greeted by a friendly staff person who will take your order. You'll get a number to take to your table and a member of the staff will bring you your meal. Please TIP GENEROUSLY!
Doubting Thomas never misses. I was so disappointed this time because I came late and they were out of the passion fruit pie, which I am passionate about! We love the house breakfast burrito, one of the best in LA, and tried the pastrami version which was incredible, though I prefer their house version. I tried the mushroom rice bowl and I think this might be my new favorite dish! The fermented hot sauce on the side was so flavorful and delicious and the oyster mushrooms were perfect. 10/10 will be back again and again.
After a divine slice of passion fruit pie and breakfast burrito- it’s clear why this is such a local favorite 🫶🏽 thank you to the whole team for a super friendly, thoughtful visit! just wish I lived closer 😅
Today’s goals, drink iced coffee and be merry. Because it’s bloody 85 degree in LA. Without further ado let’s tango. :D lol Doubting Thomas is a nice local coffee shop nestled below an apartment building in the Historic Filipinotown. They serve handcrafted pastries, pour over specialty coffee, tea, fresh squeezed drinks and breakfast/brunch food. Its contemporary architectural design in a spacious layout was well conceived: interior has abundant of natural light thanks to their large front glass windows. Furthermore, their mix ‘n match seats and tables were robustly comfortable. I arrived today to grab lunch and coffee. I was warmly greeted by a young male staff. I adroitly grabbed their quaint menu and ordered an Iced Coffee and Chicken Katsu bowl. The cold drink was smooth and refreshing; food was bloody amazing. It’s very flavorful, crisp and delightful. I dig the rice & dipping sauce that came with it. By far it’s the BEST chicken katsu I have ever tasted. I had a Butter Croissant to go. It was good especially when warmed up; it’s flaky on top and soft on the inside. From the moment I stepped inside, I sensed a good vibe as well as the service staff. Service was spot. Prices were competitive. Tax well it’s LA (9.75%) lol. Free street parking is available as well as wifi. Collectively, it’s a good coffee shop with amazing products and service. And on top of it I had a missed connection with a cute woman in red tank top x jeans shorts with a bunch of books. Overall, I had a joyful dine-in experience and loved the food/coffee drink. At the end, I have no doubt Doubting Thomas. I profoundly recommend you visit.
I really liked this coffee shop in historic Filipinotown. The main issue is parking is hard to find. The streets are busy, so jay-walking takes patience. I wish I got a pastry, but this just means I need to make another visit. I got the doubtless breakfast burrito $16, and it was so so good. I got it take away, so they packed the salsa in a separate little container. I thoroughly enjoyed this burrito. The coffee I got was the fig leaf cream cold brew. The fig leaf smelled so good, but I think I would rather enjoy cold brew without heavy cream. I would come back! The server was really nice. He was smiling a lot. I saw a lot of people working on laptops and maybe spotted a few outlets here and there.
Stopped by after an intense workout… this place hit the spot. I really loved the cold brew with the lavender cream. The Thomas breakfast was great, enjoyed the French omelette and the tomatoes (yum) while I cooled down from my hot yoga session. They also have some good looking pastries. Especially the passion fruit tart. Oh also ask what the seasonal citrus juice is- had the fresh squeezed tangerine. So. Good.

I came here with 14 people on a missions trip from NY/CT at 7:15am. They served us with kindness & excellence! And the food… SHEEEEEEESH! My 14 friends & I were completely satisfied!! We’ll be back for LUNCH!
After a divine slice of passion fruit pie and breakfast burrito- it’s clear why this is such a local favorite 🫶🏽 thank you to the whole team for a super friendly, thoughtful visit! just wish I lived closer 😅
Amazing cafe w pastries to live for - cool hang out spot too. Dog friendly. Soup w toast & dessert were delicious. Wish it was also on the Westside!

The breakfast burrito was great. Definitely LA pricing. Parking and seating might be tricky depending on the timing. The fig coffee was unique to try.
Cute spot. There’s no substitutions on their menu. The hand pie was good, the pastry was super flaky. We also got a veggie burrito with bacon and it was strangely like half avocado? I swear there was like a whole avocado maybe two in there and not much else. It was good but for $20 not sure if it’s worth it.
Super cute LA cafe in the filipinotown area!! Came here for lunch with a friend and I was really satisfied with the presentation of the food. I got the pork belly rice bowl, which came with brown rice and the pork belly meat was really good. The lettuce was in chunks and not cut up which I thought was interesting — for convenience I think I would’ve preferred it cut up into smaller pieces but it wasn’t a big deal! I had the iced matcha latte with almond milk — it was alright, average matcha latte and more on the watery side. It may have been because I chose almond milk instead of oat milk though. My friend had the breakfast dish — which she liked and an extra hot matcha latte with oat milk. We got the chocolate banana bread which was sweet and good, and the banoff (I think that’s how they spelt it) which looks like tiramisu but it’s a seasonal special where you can only get it at this time. It’s all cream on top with banana and a sweet caramel glazed tart bottom — I think regular tiramisu tastes a lot better, not the biggest fan of it & it was super sweet so just kept making you want more. I really liked the seating here - there’s outdoor and indoor and the architecture of it was good. Ample street parking around the block. It doesn’t feel like the safest place to meander and walk around but the cafe itself is good. It’s a great neighborhood gem / local gem type of place!! The servers / barista were super kind and gentle which I appreciated. Service was fast too. Good Customer service always makes a place shine. Overall great place to grab pastries and coffee… and quick lunch!!
Somewhat unexpectedly on a fairly bustling main street, this place proves you don’t need a prime location to serve up top notch breakfast and lunch fare. The seven-grain pancakes were a triumph—soft, fluffy, and almost impossibly moist, with just the right balance of sweetness. The roasted apples and maple cinnamon butter elevated them to dessert-for-breakfast territory, but without overload. Simply put, they were good pancakes—the kind that make you close your eyes after every bite. Next up, the corned beef hash. Hearty and satisfying, it was everything you want on a morning that demands something substantial. Chunks of tender corned beef mingled with potatoes, smoky poblanos, and a hint of green garlic. The duck fat infused each bite with savory depth along with the sunny egg on top. Then there’s the doubtless breakfast burrito, a golden-toasted beauty stuffed with tender braised pork shoulder, white cheddar, and potatoes. The sunny egg was a nice twist from the usual scramble, and the smoky chili and tomatillo salsa added layers of flavor. It’s a burrito you’d doubtlessly order again. To round things off, I couldn’t resist a piece of banoffee banana cream pie and it did not disappoint. Moist, balanced, and not overly banana-forward or creamy. While the location might not be the most glamorous, Doubting Thomas is the kind of spot that turns skeptics into believers—one pancake, burrito, or slice of pie at a time.
Popular spot that seems to have waves of lines on and off. We waited about 10 minutes on a Sunday for lunchtime to order and then find a seat to wait for our food. Everything tasted good though the Thomas breakfast platter was just ok (eggs weren't cooked great). The hojicha latte was very good - can definitely taste the hojicha. The highlight of what we ordered was the seven grain pancake. Don't skip this! It was so unique and delicious.
Got the Thomas Breakfast Burrito and a hot Matcha Latte. Was it the best breakfast Burrito I've had, no. However it was a welcomed new take on the breakfast Burrito and definitely worth traveling to try it. The matcha latte was great to. They had so many other great things on the menu that I need to try. Julie got a crossiant breakfast sandwich and that was sooo good. The crossiant was crispy and soft, just the way I like it. Atmosphere was great. Nice big windows with losts of light. Would come back just to work too. Only con was parking sucks which is expected in Silver Lake and seating is a little limited.

I want to give this place more stars (honestly would rate closer to 3.78, but can’t on google) because they’re so close to me and the vibes are IMMACULATE, but unless I’m getting an iced tea, I’ve struck out every time drink wise. I really think it’s the price to quality ratio for me more than anything. I’m not a huge coffee drinker, but a matcha enthusiast for sure. Have tried it multiple times. Disliked it so much. I’m gluten free and have tried some of the gluten free pastry options in the past (which again were in my opinion way overpriced) and literally couldn’t even finish the baked good. Sigh. I keep coming because working their is a delight. The atmosphere and it being so close— I can’t beat it, I just really wish the quality of the cafe good was better or the price was lower. $2+ for homemade almond milk that just tastes like bland blended almonds just doesn’t make sense to me? Anyway, the staff is sweet and I don’t want to be a hater, because I desperately want to love it, but I’ll just stick to what I know is good 😭
Food was fresh. Dirty chai was delicious, but for $85 (with tip) for two people and an uncooked danish pastry — that’s the thing that won’t bring us back. I brought it to the attention of the cashier, but she said nothing was wrong and that the cream layering was causing it to look like that. I didn’t know cream could make a danish look uncooked so I asked my sister and her husband Thomas (both chefs) and let’s just say, the name lived up to the restaurant.
*After my terrible experience I’m seriously Doubting Thomas* Man I wanted to give them one star but the burritos were really good. I found this place in my list of best breakfast burritos, I can see why the burritos are great. The customer service was terrible. I have honestly never encountered such bad customer service. When I ordered I ordered two burritos and two coffees. I received on burrito and both my coffees. I wait for 15min thinking my other burrito would come out. Staff were very attentive to all the other customers but not me. Finally I ask about my second burrito, I was told I only ordered one even though my total can up to $45 I wasn’t given a receipt so no proof on my end. I pay for the second burrito and wait another 15min. The lady who I am guessing was the manager walks past me several times never asking me what’s going on. Although she ask many other people. She even allowed a customer to go behind the counter and take a pic with the coffee machine. I was also no offered cup holders or a carry out bag they basically handed me my stuff and were like leave. As you can see in the picture they never took my order card, so naturally I assumed my other burrito was coming. I was forced to pay for three burritos and only got two. I don’t play the race card, but for some reason I feel like my race might have been the issue here. The burritos are great but I doubt I’ll ever be back. I don’t like to give my money to people who don’t want it.
After much hype, I decided to try this spot. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience. The service to start was ok, I got my coffee pretty soon after I ordered. When I got my veggie burrito, it looked great from the outside. But it was pretty soft overall, so I didn’t notice until I was almost finished with the first half when I saw slimy egg white slide out in a string into a pool on the plate. I know how to make a sunny side egg and this was clearly not cooked properly, the top of the egg white should still be set (white, not clear) with the egg yolk runny. I was really grossed out by the texture and upset because it wasn’t a sunny egg. I was going to leave, but I felt they should know these eggs aren’t getting cooked properly. One of their employees tried to tell me “well it’s a pork belly burrito” (which in the menu doesn’t appear to include eggs?), and I had to confirm it was indeed a veggie burrito. Very disappointing to have to explain myself after showing them the pool of albumen on the plate. They then offered to recook and or refund, but it definitely didn’t feel genuine or that they were sorry so I told them to just please cook their eggs for their next customers. Could hear them laughing at that as I walked out, which was unbelievably rude. I would have totally have come another time or tried something else if it weren’t for the way they handled it, definitely didn’t feel good to experience. Please do better.
I really wanted to like this place, but it falls short and I really don’t ever plan to go back. The place itself is aesthetically pleasing with a cozy chic vibe. Oddly most of the tables were wobbly and not the correct height to seat level. So the table hits at your knees when you’re sitting hence bending over your table more if eating. The only 2 things I semi-enjoyed were the dirty chai latte and the carrot cake slice. And the semi is because the latte was room temp at most but flavors were there, and the carrot cake itself was really good but the frosting was too sweet. Biscuit was dry. Jam was watery. Bacon and Eggs were just okay. Quesadilla was good but nothing great. And then we get to the danish pastry… as someone who bakes and has a family of chefs, I know when dough is underbaked. Cutting into this danish, I knew right away it still raw dough in the middle. When we brought to the girl’s attention at the counter, she seriously tried to gaslight us and tell us that “oh that’s the way it is because that’s how it bakes with the custard.” BS. We didn’t even eat the rest of it. Such a waste of our money. Nothing enticing about this place to go back so I can’t say I recommend it. Parking - it’s all street parking. Some residential. Some metered.

The cashier recommended the $17 breakfast burrito and it tasted bad and made me angry. It had raw onions when it said grilled, the meat was tough, and it overall tasted bad. The pain au chocolat was flaky on top but dense and doughey inside. Never coming back.
Very expensive- the quality is acceptable but it's not worth the 3 issues I had: 1) Trendy 'no cash' policy. If you try and pay with cash it's unacceptable. 2) AFTER you order be sure you've ordered everything you want- it's extensive: food, drinks and baked goods. Want to add ANYTHING after you've paid? Sorry- Get back in the line again policy- The same way you'd initially placed your order. 3) After paying over $45.00 for one person for breakfast I realized I left half my burrito in a to go carton back there. I called up to make sure they had it/did not throw it away before attempting to drive back there. Again, another trendy way of operating a buisness: They don't want to bother talking to customers over the phone. You call their phone # and you receive a voice message relaying info of how to order baked goods. After this message, phone hangs up. There is no option to speak to anyone. If you loose or leave anything there your out of luck. Do not think you'll speak with a real person over the phone to help you. 1/2 a good breakfa$t burrito wasted and gone to landfill. (Most places automatically toss what's left behind in Los Angeles resturants.) No way to know if it was still there. Parking is a nightmare. Was NOT going to find parking AGAIN to just be disappointed about a costly tossed away 1/2 uneaten burrito. (Make sure you take all personal items before you leave: book, phone, wallet). It was fine, but it's not the only place town to make you feel personally ignored by staff at all cost- if that's your fetish.
