This is our "go to" place for soft serve ice cream cones! Used to eat here a couple of decades ago when they had some of the best teriyaki beef and rice.

Love it because it's LA roots drive through fast food and awesome ice cream. Prices remain affordable even after all these years in business.

Love this place! Whenever I want a quick bite, specifically some delicious ice cream I head here. They have a lot of different options for icecream, smoothies, floats, sundaes and burgers/fries. Tip: if you want a small sundae with sprinkles, it's amazingly affordable and just delicious. Highly reccomend their rootbeer floats too!

Awesome old fashioned soft served ice cream. On top of that it’s the cheapest of all Foster Freeze. 2 weeks ago, I got a medium chocolate cone and paid $4 in Santa Paula. At this place in Eagle Rock, it’s $2.10...WTH?

I don't eat here often! But I pass by here everyday! Most of the time there is a line and people sitting down eating outside and in their cars because there is not enough tables for everyone! But it is always peaceful event though it's busy!

Went to Fosters Freeze in Eagle Rock for the first since before the pandemic. It was okay. My shake was very good, chocolatey, which is the way I like it. They were short staffed but the one girl was friendly.

Growing up there was a Fosters Freeze that my mom would take us too in El Sereno over in the next town. It's closed now. So coming to this one has always brought memories. And now I'm sharing those memories with my kid's. Simply the best dipped cones, shakes banana splits and sundae. It may not look like the greatest place but it has been here for over 40 years. And still standing 👍👍🍦🍨🥛

Their customer service is usually pretty good. Ive been there plenty of times and their Ice creams are great like their sundaes and twisters yum! Food is good the blt on Texas toast is yummy! But they have a new employee that skimps you on the ice cream in their root beer floats now 😠 so the floats aren't all that great anymore. But other than that they are a great little place the manager lady Maria is awesome so kind and makes good food. Family oriented, clean place, quality customer service bring the whole family to enjoy a nice ice cream or lunch for great value and fast service. And they are open pretty late too. 👍

Great old fashioned food, great cheeseburgers and ice cream items. The way it used to be..and still is here. Some things changed though, they have added three different burgers, which is all good, prices are still very reasonable compared to other chains, although in this particular location in eagle rock, Ca, for some reason whoever owns this particular restaurant, they decided to get rid of a small tree and adjacent rock landscaping in front of the store. That gave this location personality and somewhere for people to sit as they waited for the food during busy times... All in all, one of the few good places to get old fashioned food in the area.

I recently visited Fosters Freeze and I was very pleased with my experience. The food was great and there were so many delicious ice cream options to choose from. The service was fast and the staff were very polite. Prices were also very reasonable. I highly recommend Fosters Freeze!

This place is great. Burgers are better than most other chains and the ice cream selection is probably the main draw. The banana shake is one of the best things I have tried on the ice cream menu, but the works and dirt twister is my personal favorite. The Eagle Rock location is much more centrally located than other locations and gets more customer traffic at night it seems.

A classic burger joint that serves a wide variety ice cream treats. A great place to grab a quick take out meal. The cricket-cut fries they serve with the combo meals are nice and crispy. There is a few tables of the side of building where people can sit and eat their take out.

It's a throw back to memory lane. The ice cream is always perfect. You are missing out if you have not tried the banana split. The food is actually good here as well. The blizzards are my friends favorite.

Attendant was very kind in taking my order. The benches and chairs under the awning are nice too, so that you can relax while eating your treat. I got a butterfinger twister and it was delicious and fairly priced. 😋

The Big Boss is everything you need in a good old fashioned burger. Wash it down with an ice cold crush or one of their many delicious shakes or go for a classic dipped cone. Staff is always courteous and the prices are extremely fair. P.S. Foods made to order do come patient.

I've been coming here since I was a baby, I usually get a dipped cone (which is always amazing) but have had very little of the food, can say the fries are great though. Everytime I come here I'm always greeted by my favorite employee who's always such a sweetheart and calls me Mija (to be fair she's worked there for so long shes seen me grow up!) Great chocolate Sundays. Fosters has been in Eagle Rock since the 1960's or 1970's. The place still looks the same! But don't let the simple and dated appearance fool you. Everything on the menu is great. Staff is really nice also. Great place to hang out 1970's style.

My daughter said it was one of the best burgers🍔 she ever ate, the fries were fresh and crispy, the corn dog was devoured and we both absolutely loved the extremely generous portioned chocolate vanilla swirl ice cream cones!🍦 There is plenty of parking and several picnic tables for seating.

They have so many choices to choose from that everyone in the family are always happy. It can get pricey but the quality has not been compromised, so we don't mind. Heard about Fosters Freeze being a local favorite for many years. Stopped for an ice cream cone, but they have many other desserts and even hamburgers, chicken sandwich, fish and chips, etc... Ordered the mixed swirl that was half chocolate and vanilla swirled together, then had it dipped in chocolate sauce. The chocolate dip made a nice hard shell covering the soft ice cream. The ice cream was extremely soft and creamy. It melts very quickly, so you have to eat it fast. It was a nice simple dessert and I can see why it's been a local favorite for many years.

Haven't been to a Foster's Freeze in years. My daughter and I were at a martial arts expo (Dragonfest) and saw this and thought i need to take my daughter here before there are no more. So we stopped, and let me tell you, we were not disappointed. The best fries, burgers and shakes we have had in a long time. Great job!!!

I love this place so much. It holds a lot of special memories for me. I've been coming to Foster's Freeze since I can remember. My mom and everyone in my family . Loved to come here. The food is good and the staff are very nice. I love cannabis and this place has all the munchies I love! 😍 I really love the Texas Toast Grilled cheese burger. Topped will chili and more cheese. With fries 🍟 and their chocolate malt shakes. Are to die for. If you never been here definitely check it out. They have been in business forever.

So many yummy choices. I stick to the sweet stuff but you have plenty of other options from burgers to sandwiches. I love a large pineapple freeze and a chocolate dipped cone. Root beer freezees are yummy too. Everything seems to be getting more expensive everywhere you go and that's really the only reason I didn't give 5 stars here because it seems like some stuff is kind of pricey now, maybe I'm just getting cheap 🤷‍♂️ Aside from the somewhat high price tag (or my annoying cheapness) I love this spot. I love the set up. The service. The taste of everything. Been coming here since a little guy and it hasn't really changed (accept the prices/me growing up to be cheap) Hard to turn down a trip to Fosters though ... Or as we still call it.. The Berry-Banana smoothies are fantastic. It's really unfortunate that Foster's Freeze has been slowly disappearing because they have a lot of ice cream treats that are better than their competitors.

Foster's Freeze is good for ice cream, nothing else. If you're looking for a quick dessert, or creative blizzard, then this is the place for you. If you're looking for a legitimate meal to pair along with a Frozen treat, then you are better off eating somewhere else. That being said any person going to Frosters is most likely only going for the desert.

4 stars For the classic taste alone. Love their soft serve ice cream. However the parking lot in back is sketchy with shady characters passing through or just parked back there.

I can only review their ice cream, I haven't ordered anything else. It reminds me of when I was a kid, so I love it. They only have chocolate and vanilla, and you can get cones chocolate dipped. I was they had cherry dip, but I'm sure that's not good for me anyway. They also have twisters which are candy mixed into the ice cream. If you're in the mood for a little nostalgic treat, give them a try.

Love to take the kids and get them some ice cream to see their little smiles. I like vanilla ice cream easy to get and easy service. Some benches to eat on. Nothing overly special about the decor but it's just right.

There is only 1 way in , 1 way out so if you don't know the area you might miss it. Or just park in the next lot. Ice cream 🍦 is delicious. My kids LOVED it. The fries didn't have enough salt or seasoning. But they were still good.

Cool place for all kinds of desserts. Fast food items are good too. Not many seats to eat at so most just take-out. They have discounts on certain days that they post on their Facebook page

Overall it was good. The vanilla ice cream cone covered in chocolate is delicious. Likewise the grilled cheese sandwiches, with the wonderful crunch of the bread toasted on a skillet with melted butter (yumm!). Their chili is tasty as well, just a tad bit greasy for my taste but I'll still eat it.

This place is my guilty pleasure. With no A&W's within reasonable driving distance, Fosters is my go to joint for root beer floats and smoothies. They also make a great triple berry shake that is sure to clog your straw with pieces of strawberry, blueberry and raspberry. The staff are friendly and accommodating to special requests like more root beer or adding a little cherry compote to the triple berry shake. I wish I could similarly praise their food but on the few occasions when I've ordered something I found it looked better on the window ad than it tasted in my mouth.

I really enjoy this place. They have the food and the snacks. This place is so small but it has long lines at times and there's no wonder why. Simple food like a grilled cheese sandwich tastes so good here. The ice cream is the cherry on top. It's the best part about the place. They have shakes, smoothies, and even banana splits. Please stop by and check out the place for yourself. It's four stars in my eyes because the prices have gone up, the place looks understaffed, and modifications can still be done to improve overall. The location can be ghetto at times since you're right next to Highland Park.

A local favorite, this place has been around forever, so long it is kind of easy to forget about it because you just expect it to be there. Soft serve ice cream, and the many,many other items that can stem from that. Shakes,floats,cones,Sundays. Than added flavors fruit,candy, chocolate. The list just goes on and on. The out side could use an upgrade but what comes out of the place always places a smile on any face of any age. :)

Ice cream is always delicious, never had the food so can't comment on that. Service is normally quick and always friendly. Location is convenient, parking lot is easy to navigate with plenty of spots. Minus one star however because overall the entire property would benefit from a little sprucing up. Things are beginning to look worn out/outdated.

First time coming here and I really liked the food. Chicken strips are really good and ice cream is also great. The fries are also good. Ice cream is their specialty so they have a ton of variety. Interestingly enough they have lots of parking but no bathroom. Having said that I would definitely come again.

If I'm feeling I'll drop by for a cone and that it. Order outside through the window. They have seats but outside on the side. Is a regular ice cream shop they do offer other food items but haven't tried that yet. Fairly priced, although the ice cream is not fully dairy it seems. Because it melts really quickly and it tastes more water based than anything. Aside from that, the taste is there.

I remember as a teenager growing up in my hometown that's now!! actually recognize & mentioned on the map Good ol' Eagle Rock!! 😂 every other day after school my childhood friends/classmates would either stop by for 2 reasons #1 hanging out #2 having a vanilla or chocolate or! Both & also dipped cone no matter the season or freezing butt cold! Lol some of us still can't resist the CONE!! and almost 2 or 3 decades later the Foster freeze stand still up & running business as usual haven't done any major changes to the hut itself and their parking everything still remains the same just like back in the day I believe they didn't feel like any need for change because they want people who remember their business to see it exactly the way it stands today.

Its hot, it's ok ,it's time to remodel if you want to stay in business. You have look clean and fresh to stay hip. Your sign, your paint looks like it's worn and tired. Those benches could be modernized .Its has so much potential because you have freezes and ice cream and food. No restrooms? Why? You are a historic landmark. I'd hate to see you disappear.

Good local place to get a burger or a chocolate covered soft serve cone (my fav). There are tables but the patio and tables always look dirty so i go somewhere else to eat.

Open late at night. Standard ice cream and burger place. Outdoor seating, well lit, easy parking.

Ice cream was delicious. Only has outdoor seating, and by that I mean just a few benches and tables. The place is older and definitely looks it, could use a remodel or at least a fresh coat of paint. Worst part is, they have no restrooms. So if you decide to try the food instead of just the ice cream, you have no place to wash up. Before or after, had to walk my kids to a different fast food place down the block so they could go potty.

Not the Fosters freeze of yesterday but it will do. The dessert choices are decent and the service fantastic. Kind and helpful wit an area to sit and rest. The price for a Chocolate dipped cone is reasonable and you get a nice sized cone for your money. Is it worth a try? Absolutely.

The chocolate dip cone was decent. AVOID THE MILKSHAKES, it’s basically milk with a hint of ice cream; super runny and thin with zero creaminess…all milk and no shake. I wish I tasted it before I left because I would’ve asked for a refund.

I was very disappointed because they changed the milk on the ice cream. It used to be frosty ice cream but now it's creamy and it doesn't taste the same. I have been a foster freeze fan since a child.

Don't get me wrong I love chocolate dipped soft serve ice cream cones, I mean who doesn't? And it isnt the food I dislike, it's edible, it's the deadbeats and druggies that frequent this Foster Freeze that I deplore. When Im in Frogtown (Atwater) I love frequenting the Foster Freeze there. Its the same food and you have far less chances of stepping on a spent syringe

Good food...but the place is simply run-down, tore-up from the floor-up! Not a penny spent on upkeep since I visited regularly 30 years ago, in high school.

Very very disappointed! Since my friends been sick I've been visiting out here several times. So I come to this Foster Freeze and always ordered the waffle dipped cone and very happy with it. However today May 5th 6:30 pm. The guy was very and I mean very skimpy on the it. I brought it to his attention but he just said "oh yeah" and wouldn't changed it. So I asked for a refund. It wasn’t a pleasant experience. As you can see there were only 3 customers but waited way too long for 2 chocolate malts. There were 3 people working and one was a cashier but someone each time the cashier takes an order needs to close the window. The place wasn’t busy at all to be taking too long.

This place is horrible I showed up at 945pm and they say they close at 10pm supposedly..me and my family expecting food.they said they only had ice cream only and seeing the grill spotless these people called it quits at 9pm and we weren't the only ones turned down.most places when they say they close at 10 that means they serve the customer until closing time.i f you don't wanna cook it's fine let the next person do it you don't want too.. I wonder how they expect to keep the place going if they are turning down customers during business hours makes no sense.i will never come back to this one.i f you plan to come here and get food show up with time if not you will not eat anything but ice cream.

The male cashier had an awful attitude, said he couldn't sell something that I've ordered several times previously. I won't be back if this is the level of service they're going to give.

My experience here today was the worst of any fast food place i have ever been to. I had a party of 8 people we place 4 orders of the chicken strips combo along with other things, the order took about 45+minutes and all the orders were incomplete, once i received the last items she tried to apologize saying her fryers were not working, but yet she gave me under cook fries my burgers were cold and the chicken strips taste nothing like chicken, it had flavor of oil only as if the strips were refried more than once.. i definitely would not recommend this place for food. My first and last time i set foot in this location.

Was filming a video here of the building. A women in care of children became angered and took a picture of me. I erased the video and left due to this women. At a nearby plaza. Two guys showed up and wanted to lay a beating upon me. They wanted to put me in the hospital. I apologized. Foothill Blvd Grand Avenue isn't that very safe of an area.The ice cream product is of a low cheap quality product associated with ayce or Buffet food. Very expensive here. Not a safe place to visit.

I went to Fosters becaue I think they have ine if the best burgers in town, in fact better than In ‘n out, but on the evning of Oct 1 , I ordered the “Old Fashion” burger (burger only) and it was HORRIBLE!… the bread is old, the meat is cold and it was made in a hurry and it was only 7:30 PM. I would understand the ruah to get home BUT it doesnt mean you short-change your paying customers ni matter what time it is! So it’s ONE star(grudgingly) very disappointing.

I come here time to time because it’s always been good and I noticed recently this year 2024 it has gone down completely not just because of the homelessness that is right there or how dirty it is around the facility But the food isn’t the same. It’s very salty or seems like it has a frost freeze on the food and the oil that cooks the fries seems dirty as well. I spent $30 and I know that’s not a lot of money but I expected I’d have better food I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this location anymore.Not sure if management is maintaining the freezer the oil and keeping the area clean.

No service at the window for at least 10 min. Adrian working at grill said person is on their break after I asked if anyone was coming back. Could care less. Three customers gave up before me and left. Zero customer satisfaction.

I placed my order at the drive-thru for two ice cream cones dipped in chocolate. When I was asked to pay $8.65 my jaw dropped!!! Does this place now has a new owner who raised the prices? Was it a joke played on me? I don't think i will go back if I know it wasn't a mistake and I got overcharged!!!

After 56 years ( all my life) I had my first terrible milk shake. The strawberry milk shake has been changed to a gross strawberry syrup with no real strawberries with a terrible fake looking syrup that taste NOTHING like the original strawberry shake that has been served here for decades. I understand times are different, but changing your original recipe for one that can be found at McDonalds, Jack in the Box, In and Out and all those other fast food places is sad to the core. I can find fake strawberry shakes anywhere but I can’t kind Fosters Freeze shakes anywhere. Fosters Freeze is old fashion, it’s unique, it’s nostalgic yumminess. Bring back the original shake Fosters.
