I am SO happy to have found this absolute gem! It has everything. FANTASTIC fresh Lebanese specialties, good prices, awesome people (Josua) here and a cute, relaxing ambiance. I mean, what else could you want? I will definetly make the trip back here from Venice beach. What a find. 😊
Amazing spot for Lebanese food! The fries with chicken shawarma were amazing!! The tenderloin skewer was also so good. We got pistachio ice cream with honey for dessert, one of the best ice creams we’ve ever had!
An amazing spot for Lebanese food. Friendly staff and pretty fast turn around after you put your food order. Had the classic and the extra garlic was delicious. Can't wait to try the options.
The servings are hearty and feel homemade, with flavors that are deeply satisfying. The chicken shawarma plate is juicy and packed with seasoning, and the garlic sauce adds an irresistible touch. Every bite makes this a solid.
The best food to dine in or take out, so it’s my number one choice! Every recipe they use here is amazing. You know how some restaurants are known for the best pizza slice or the best cut of steak or the best chicken dish? This restaurant gives you that feeling with every menu item and I’ve tried all of them! The team is friendly and passionate, the energy is very good here! I recently tried something I had never seen, the zaatar chips, as you can see I couldn’t even wait to eat the chips and hummus before my picture and this is the most unique and pleasant tasting chip I have ever eaten. I consider Scaf’s on York my number one eatery and I’m always satisfied here. Kebob is amazing, sandwiches melt in my mouth, appetizers are extremely flavorful keep up the great work!
The best Chicken shawarma and garlic paste I've ever had! Hands down 😋 I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of it. The cheese roll was super yummy too. I did get a picture of their tasty rose water ice cream dessert. Good stuff!
Probably the best Lebanese restaurant in LA and one of the best restaurants in LA! The staff is so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about the cuisine. We came as a group of 4 and really embraced the family style eating, we got so much food some of the favs were the baba ganoush, hummus with beef, the lamb skewers, and the rose water ice cream was to die for!!! It is a bit pricey but worth the food, would come again!
This is a STUNNING spot where you are greeting by the warmest of hellos. That wave of kindness continues as the staff all points out things they love on the menu; this is without prompting. You feel their passion & pride. Food! WOW. Everything that came to the table was without fault. I highly recommend you order everything that catches your eye & enjoy the meal!! It will provide a glorious high of happiness.
This place is delicious. Two of us split the vegetarian platter (hummus, babaganoush, tabouleh, cabbage salad, falafel, pickles), the chicken shawarma, and the spicy crispy potatoes. The shawarma is good, with some great room. The platter with falafel is great, everything on it is delicious. But the absolute best thing was those garlic potatoes. The spicy garlic paste that's on them is amazing! The potatoes are crispy and perfectly cooked. I'm going to be thinking about those potatoes for a while....until I come back and have them again. The pita was the only thing that wasn't amazing. It was probably heated up so by the time you're a quarter into it, it's cracker hard. The flavor is good, though. The host and server we had were so, so friendly and nice. And the place is super cute, with a nice relaxed vibe, whether inside or outside.
Service was excellent and super homey. The staff was super accommodating and friendly. Dog friendly patio. We ended up only getting apps because it was very chilly outside. Falafel plate was great and was very fresh. The Lebanese coffee was very tasty.
Skaf’s on York is a hidden gem in Highland Park! If you’re craving authentic Lebanese comfort food, this is the place to go. The portions are generous, everything tastes homemade, and the flavors are rich and satisfying. The chicken shawarma plate is juicy and well-seasoned, and the garlic sauce is seriously addictive — I could eat it with everything. The staff are super welcoming, and service is fast whether you’re dining in or picking up. The vibe is casual and cozy, perfect for a laid-back lunch or dinner. Parking can be tricky on York, but it’s absolutely worth it. Definitely recommend the hummus with beef or lamb, and don’t skip the lentil soup if they have it — it’s hearty and delicious. Great spot to support a family-run business with food that hits the spot every time.
Finally came here a few months ago and had such an amazing dinner. The food was so fresh and delicious and Fernando, our server, provided an incredible dining experience. Will definitely be coming back here again and also checking out their other locations.
Everything was delicious. We tried to diversify our order as much as possible, and there are still so many things I want to try when I return. Make sure to order the Fül; this is such a flavorful and well-rounded dish that I would be happy eating stand-alone as a meal. All components of the veggie combo were on point and have set a new standard for mezze for me. The staff were helpful and kind and made sure to elaborate on the dishes if we had questions.

Had the most amazing meal at Skaf's today! My friend and I shared the hummus, combo grill plate, fattoush and falafel - highly recommend all of these dishes, especially the falafel! Everything was super fresh and delicious. The staff was so friendly and hospitable. The ambiance is welcoming with lots of window light, you feel like you're dining outside even when sitting inside. Of course, they have a great patio area to sit in too! All together an amazing experience and we can't wait to come back for another visit.
100 % my favorite spot to eat. Best Eatery in my opinion. Dine in is fabulous, the team is super kind. Take out always hits the spot. I visit once every 2 weeks and they are consistently great at making food. We've tried basically everything on the menu and I highly recommend Skaf's. I've hosted many parties with their take out options and it's always been a success. Hummus here is like no other hummus I've ever tried. Falafel wraps are superb and shawarma is always fresh and tasty.
I haven’t had middle eastern food this good since I was in the Middle East! Very authentic dishes and sides on their menu from the chicken shawarma to the hummus it’s so delicious. Not only is it a great take-out spot but it’s also a perfect dine in dinner spot. My wife loved it too and the service here was fantastic. Probably my favorite restaurant in the area by a long shot. If you’re in the mood for Mediterranean food - stop searching this is the spot!
Skaf’s on York truly feels like home every time I visit. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Their food blends traditional Lebanese flavors with a fresh, modern twist, and everything on the menu is consistently delicious. I never know what to order because their dishes never disappoint. When I’m craving that classic home-style comfort, I go for the fattoush salad with rice and shawarma — and of course, the warm pita bread and creamy hummus are a must. If I’m in the mood to try a little bit of everything, I pick a few of their sides. Their cheese rolls are amazing! And on days when I want something simple yet still full of flavor, the lentil soup is always perfect. Just writing this review is making me excited for my next meal there. Highly recommend Skaf’s on York for anyone who enjoys delicious, authentic food served in a warm and inviting setting!
Skaf’s on York is truly something special. The food speaks for itself—authentic, comforting, and made with so much care—but what really sets this place apart is the people behind it. This is a family-owned business, and you can feel how much heart and soul they pour into everything they do. Running a small business is hard, and the family at Skaf’s works tirelessly to bring good food and good vibes to the community. Their recipes come straight from their aunt—these are dishes they grew up on—and that history and love come through in every bite. They’ve been around since 1999, starting in North Hollywood, and it’s inspiring to see how much dedication it took to grow and eventually expand to Highland Park. They genuinely care about the neighborhood and the people in it. If you’re looking for amazing food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a business that truly cares about its community, Skaf’s on York is worth supporting. Places like this deserve love.

Skafs on York is an absolute gem. The food is healthy, delicious, and full of flavor. Their hummus is honestly the best I’ve ever had, and the salads are always so fresh and vibrant. On top of that, the staff is incredibly kind and friendly. I always leave happy — highly recommend!

I enjoy a dining experience. We were greeted immediately and offered a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. From there, everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Then the food arrived and I was happy I ordered more than usual. The food was fresh and delicious. They even take the time to make it look pretty. And, who knew cabbage could tasy so good. We followed dinner up with both desserts. I didn't think I liked anything rosewater flavored and I was wrong. What a perfect experience. It's a trek from where I live and I plan on making it as often as I can.
Hidden gem in Highland Park! It’s a darling spot, small ish and cosy, staff were amazing (helpful and friendl,) food tasted homemade and authentic, and don’t get me started on their garlic sauce….. It’s a family run place, you can tell it has a very special touch! They even make their own sauces/dressings, love! Haven’t had this amazing Lebanese food in LA, you gotta go! Ps. Street parking is busy, you can find a spot on a local side street, if not the main street. Pps. Lebanese & Moroccan wine available! Can’t wait to go back!
Took a while to order after getting seated Grape leaves $10 were good Small tabbouleh for $7 is crazy, should be $5 max (was good though) Beef shawarma wrap was good, recommend the fries This should come with garlic sauce on the side, don’t like that it’s an extra $1.25 Beef shawarma plate was good but I think the the rice could be more flavorful, comes with complimentary tahini sauce and pita - but I recommend adding on the hot salsa Pickled jalapeños were good too Overall: overpriced but tasty

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for over 18 years and have always tried to support local businesses, including Skaf’s on York. The food is tasty— solid Middle Eastern fare— perfectly fine for a casual neighborhood spot. Unfortunately, a recent interaction with the owner changed my perspective completely. After the restaurant “trimmed” a city tree in front of their business and later blamed the gardener while taking little responsibility, many neighbors were frustrated. The tree trimming occurred a few months ago. The other day, I walked past with my dog (as I do daily) and simply shook my head. I didn’t say a word and didn’t look at anyone. Daniel, the owner, immediately began yelling at me while sitting with staff, demanding to know why I was shaking my head. Another employee (a tall guy with long hair) joined in and began berating me. Several members of management were present, including the older Skaf brother and the general manager (Josh) who remained silent while I was called names. Being publicly yelled at for a silent gesture was shocking and deeply unprofessional. They call themselves a “neighborhood eatery,” but neighborliness requires basic respect for the community. Because of this interaction and the cutting of the tree, I can’t recommend supporting this establishment. The food simply isn’t worth being treated with hostility by the people who run it.
