Opinions de Little Ripper Los Angeles
Beautiful little place that felt like being in someone's very well decorated home. We stopped here after a wedding for a snack and a drink and had a great time. It is a little bit pricey but honestly worth it. If you are in the area, give it a shot :)
Lox toast and tangerine cronut were both amazing. The cronut especially - so soft and light in the inside with such good flavor in the tangerine glaze. Toast had a good protein of lox and all the flavors hit well together. Cute little cafe - nice outdoor patio as well as indoor seating available. Even on a busier Saturday morning, food still came out pretty quick.
UPDATE: Came back for brunch and it was easily one of the best brunches I have had in a while. I got a standard breakfast plate and my wife got the Peachy Keen. Both were fantastic!! We also both gor the Little Ripper with lavender and were very happy with that choice! All the dishes here are very unique and there is nothing that should be considered “normal fare”. That said, it was all fantastic. We had the springy tomatoes (great), tuna crudo (great), moorish meatballs (that sauce!!!) and the meat and veggies. Everything tasted great and was very unique. In my picture of the meatballs, I remembered to take a pic after two were already eaten. Now, I had to remember to rate this place based on the FOOD, the SERVICE, and the ATMOSPEHERE, not the experience I had. I bought two kids, the youngest of which is 3. Despite Google having said they have a kids menu here, they do not. We could not get our kids to eat the meatballs, which were the most normal items on the menu. If you have a kid that eats everything, youll be fine here, but if your kid is EVER picky, I would avoid dinner here (breakfast menu would likely be fine). The kids made it rough, but the actual restaurant was great.
Such a cool coffee shop, even cooler dinner spot. I just moved to the area and I stopped by for a coffee and some breakfast, both of which were fantastic. Absolutely loved my latte. The Goldie Lox on sourdough was delicious and had such a good fresh taste to it. I found out that they do a dinner service and got reservation with some friends. They serve small shareable plates and it was such a fun experience to try a bunch of things while enjoying glasses of natural wine. My favorite dish was definitely The Duo which is a whipped feta dip and an herbed labneh dip. The labneh reminded me of a really good tzatziki. The Smoked Trout dip was also fantastic. They sprinkled it with lemon zest and that was phenomenal to pair with the buttered sourdough toast. Highly recommend this place to everyone. Can’t wait to come back
Been coming here for awhile and it’s one of my favorite places in LA and top coffee shops. Food and pastries are amazing. Service is wonderful. Cute corner spot and good seating. Parking is decent to find. Sandwiches are killers. Drink prices reasonable and great variety of cool wines. An absolute gem.
I was so happy to stumble across this Aussie-style cafe on our side of LA. The kids raised Down Under could have their Vegemite toast and real Fairy Bread on white bread for brekkie, while the adults could enjoy a smashed avo on sourdough, a breakfast sandwich, and bacon and eggs. Something for everyone. Be warned that Americans used to super sized portions might want to add extra bacons and eggs, and Aussies who love their Vegemite might want to ask for a generous helping of the black stuff.
Delicious house drip black coffee and a Spanglish Brekkie was a perfect way to start my day in this busy little local hang tucked into a valley where L.A. meets Glendale.
Little Ripper is a cute little Aussie coffee shop in Glassell Park. The coffee shop name is an Australian slang for "little nice thing/person", and it specializes in a good Aussie Flat White and Jaffle, Australia's closed toasted sandwich. During my first visit I had a cappuccino and a plain croissant. I was impressed that they were able to make a to-go cappuccino look exciting. Overall I enjoyed my visit, coffee was good, pastry was fresh. I mean, Sugarbloom is literally across the street. The vibe of this neighborhood coffee shop indeed reminded me of the coffee shops in Sydney where I had my first flat white. It's chill and relaxing, but not without a sense of ritual. The little outdoor seatings and patio also add some extra charm. When I returned to Little Ripper another morning, I tried their signature Little Ripper Latte in Chicory-Cacao flavor and The Loaded Jaffle Sandwich. Both of them weren't what I usually get, especially the Jaffle Sandwich, which I had for the first time. The freshness made up for the relatively small portion. I people-watched as I waited and ate my breakfast, thinking that I'll be happy if this is in my neighborhood.
First meal there was a home room. The food quality and the portion size were incredible. The decor is really well done down to the plates and cups. Only improvement would be the music, and add bag hooks to your bar seats. Will be back!
I have joyfully watched the vision of Little Ripper owners Lorena and Rex turn their small, beautifully and sustainably sourced and curated coffee shop into a lunch and dinner + drinks spot in Glassell Park… and it is so wonderful! The open faced toasts, the delicious pastries, the fusion dinner menu, the coffee and the wines… everything is exactly what you’d seek in a local food and bevy haunt. Plus, you often get to see and chat with Rex and Lorena themselves, a true testament to their love and commitment to being engaged proprietors who care about their community and the products they serve. So grateful for Little Ripper!! Also helps that it’s literally around the corner from my home and business. May this wonderful spot continue to rip and regenerate our neighborhood with goodness!

This is a friendly coffee spot with tasty food options too like the biscuit or pastries. There’s no seating inside but there is outside. You can order through square for online pickup.
I love coming here in the morning for a cup of lavender latte. Nice place to meet and chat with friends. Yummy pastries, too!
Passed this place a hundred times and finally went for breakfast. A warm neighborhood cafe with yummy food. It'd be nice if it was a tad bigger just so we weren't so close to other customers sitting down, but otherwise great.
The breakfast plate is the best brunch I’ve had in LA. Perfectly made eggs, fresh salad, delicious tomatoes, toast, and bacon. A little pricey but worth it. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Would recommend! Coffee is good too.

Came here for brunch with some friends on a Saturday around 11am. The space had a cozy vibe inside, and the patio offered plenty of seating with a dog-friendly atmosphere. You order at the counter, and the staff brings your food and drinks right to your table. It did take a while for the food to come out, but we were enjoying the company, so it wasn’t a huge deal. While the prices felt a bit on the higher side, the overall experience was pleasant. My breakfast sandwich was tasty, though I would’ve loved a side to go with it. Still, it was a great spot to catch up with friends and enjoy a slow weekend morning.
Overall it was well worth it - yes the prices were a tad high (even for LA) but the ambiance is very nice. We sat inside, but the outside patio seemed nice too.
Found this spot randomly and I liked that it’s dog friendly. The menu doesn’t have much so I wasn’t expecting much but the avocado egg sandwich was great along with the brekki sandwich.
Had the Little Ripper Latte with Lavender and it was different but good. The menu isn’t too big which was nice. They sell a few pastries as well. Parking is limited on the street but in front of the shop people are usually in and out. Staff was nice and provided excelled recommendations.

Little Dipper is back! Lots of yummy pastries, hot breakfast items, plus the old standbys - like vegemite toast and a fantastic avocado toast. I had a plum grapefruit shrub, and it was bright and refreshing. They still have the warm milk topped with sprinkles and mini-marshmallows for the kids! And needless to say, they still make great lattes. The service was great, and everyone was very helpful.

Vibes - immaculate. Coffee - Excellent. $10 for a single slice of Bub’s toast with butter and jam feels WILD even in this economy, but the cheese and tomato toastie more than made up for that. Love this little gem of a cafe.

UPDATED 1/16/2024 Having gone back after its renovation I really love the look and aesthetic of the cafe. It’s cozy and well thought out. The design is great. Love the stools and wall trim. Nice to go fridges at the end of the long communal table and plenty of seating both inside and out in the patio. Still not that impressed with the coffee. The Little Ripper this time around tasted better than previously but lacked much flavor. I chose lavender again but barely there. Also got an ice lavender latte which did have a bit more lavender but it just did not taste all that good. Also tried some light bites. Sourdough toast with house made blueberry jam was delicious though I think a bit pricey for what it is. But it’s even more evident with the Fairy Bread. It’s a single slice of white bread with no crust and some butter and sprinkles. That’s it. I like that it seems like it’s a cultural treat, reminiscent of one’s childhood. But really made for the kids and charging $5 for it seemed too funny. Overall as much as I love the look and feel the coffee just hasn’t done much to get me to return for a third time. ————————————————————— Original 2023 Review Small little spot outside of the usual busy areas which is nice. But there’s no inside seating yet and just a few tables outside with a covered area that didn’t seem to be in use by most people for some reason. Was disappointed in their signature latte the Little Ripper. Tasted incredibly watered down I thought I was drinking tea. Would love to try again with one of the other options like the New Orleans chicory base one. But I was let down by this one so it’ll be a while before I head that way again.

I really wanted to like Little Ripper, but the experience was disappointing for the price. Los angelo’s have been gas lit into thinking it’s normal to pay 21+ dollars for a portion like that. For twenty two dollars, the plate comes with a slice of bread cut in half, two pieces of bacon, a halved tomato, and some eggs. When I asked how many eggs it included, the staff said “one or two,” which honestly confused me. I couldn’t tell if they were using powdered eggs or fresh eggs because the answer didn’t make sense. We ordered two dishes and two coffees and the total was almost sixty dollars. That is a wild price point for the amount of food you receive. The portions are tiny. I should not be spending that much and still leave hungry. Since it is a coffee shop first, I expected the coffee to really shine. Instead, it tasted exactly like the coffee I make at home. Not terrible at all, but not worth seven dollars. To make it worse, there were grounds in my cup and grounds sitting at the bottom of my partner’s iced coffee. That should never happen at any café. The atmosphere is cute and the staff is genuinely kind, attentive, and honestly the best part of the place. The owner is lucky to have workers like that. The problem is the space itself. It is way too cramped with too many tables squeezed into a tiny room. You end up sitting barely a foot away from other people and it kills any chance of enjoying your meal. I couldn’t focus on eating because I was stuck between one table talking about strange topics and another repeating the same story about their family vacation over and over.
