Opinions de Cafe de Leche Los Angeles
It's a small cafe close to Occidental College. Lot of customers are from the college. Some are neighbors. Good environment in general! I love their pastries and tea. They are different to someone who's used to big chain store. One of the stuff recommended local honey when I felt like dying from seasonal allergies. It worked magically! So I'm grateful forever to her.
Best coffee shop on York. Consistently good. Can sometimes take a bit but I've never gotten frustrated. Really nice team of baristas. Only downside is other people know it's good too so it can get crowded. I don't need you and your annoying children smh. Anyway great coffee.
Wow. Who are writing these reviews? Hipsters from Silverlake? Stuck up Oxy students? I don't know, but I love this place. I have lived in Highland Park for almost 10 years. We never used to have ANY coffee shops. This place is a god send. They bring in fresh Portos pastries every morning, so delicious! Their coffee is good. I admit sometimes they can be a bit slow, but it's not Starbucks, chill out people. This is a great little local place. I love walking my dogs here on the weekends, sitting outside and enjoying a delicious spinach and cheese croissant and coffee. I've met the owners and they are super nice. They let people in the community put out their flyers or posters on the window. They are such an asset to the neighborhood. Haters gonna hate, this place is great ;-)
This is the first shop I enter when I first got to highland park. This coffee shop is a highland park darling. I would meet all my friends here before we would go on out HLP adventures and lollygally along York. The park is just across the street and it’s just a solid cup of Joe.
So chill and nice and the matcha is really good :)
So heres the deal, ignore all the negative comments you're reading on here because they have no idea what they're talking about and are probably some angsty hipsters who want all the baristas and waiters of the world to treat them like the kings and queens they are definitely not. This place is a good coffee shop, and is a much better choice than the starbucks down the street. The baristas are friendly enough, and if for some reason they're not with you, so what, you only have to deal with them for 20 seconds. This is a cool place to chill and have a drink while reading or doing some work. The horchata with espresso and the abuelitas mocha are pretty damn good and something you wont find in most other coffee places. If your'e in the hood and hankerin for some coffee, go here.
Matt is a scholar and a gentleman and gave me the time to explain the process of coffee roasting. I never drink black coffee and actually didn't need cream or sugar. Incredible coffee and service. Come here for coffee the way it was meant to be brewed.
The neighborhood coffeeshop and roaster that's been around for over a decade. Not only that but coffee they source is based on relationships and you can tell they care about their customers too. Looking forward to making this our neighborhood coffeeshop!
I wish there were more stars than five for service. Me and my friend went here and the barista, Daniel, was such a kind and generous person. This cafe is absolutely amazing!!
Neighborhood pioneer still going strong. I have been a loyal customer since it opened and always go there first after a long time away. Stumptown coffee perfect and the almond lattes are actually hot. Music good and staff better.
We just moved to the area and have been scouting coffee spots to make our daily morning stop. As with most trendy spots in LA, there’s a new coffee shop popping up every few weeks. But this place is one you shouldn’t miss! The coffee is amazing, and their food items are a quality add. They offer alternative milk options at no extra cost, and have a full lineup of options aside from the typical coffee house staples. Needless to say, this is now our daily stop, and I strongly recommend to others to make it theirs as well.
Cafe de Leche is well-located on York St. with an upbeat vibe, friendly staff, and great coffee drink options. My favorite espresso cocktail is the cortado, so upon moving-in down the street I immediately put theirs to the test. Not only is it delicious, it’s far from the most delicious espresso item on the menu! Cafe de Leche also has their own bean roasting program which they share with Rock Coffee in nearby Eagle Rock. Thus, it’s no wonder Highland Park locals and visitors alike flock here to enjoy a warm cup, lively conversation, and exciting people watching ;)
Awesome local coffee shop, great place to hang out and get some work done, although there are not many seats. The Horchata Latté is exceptional. There is not a huge selection of things to eat, fret not, because this is a great place to stop in for a great drink and there are many great local eateries around. Be sure to check out this great coffee shop and neighborhood before its fully gentrified!
If you’re looking for a chill spot to get your caffeine fix, this place is it. Tons of seating and loads of natural light make it perfect for getting some work done or just hanging out. The coffee is seriously good, and their huge butter croissants are out of this world. Plus, the staff is super friendly, which is always a win. Definitely worth checking out!
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff/baristas. I had the mexi mocha w/spices but I recommend having it without. Latte Campesino was best served hot, personally. All around great and I recommend 👍
It was a good morning, got coffee here and it became a great morning. I ordered the Horchata con espresso iced and it was delicious. Solid flavor and it was a great pick me up drink. Solid spot to chill and bring your laptop or read with a cup of joe. I’d definitely come back to this spot again to try their other menu items.
One of my favorite places to get coffee. They import coffee from select growers and roast it in-house. They have a great selection of drinks and you can purchase bags of coffee to make at home. They deliver and you can purchase from their website. No dine-in seating buy outdoor tables are available. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is no parking lot but there's is plenty of street parking.

Super cute cafe Friendly staff
Café de Leche is a cozy café tucked away and it’s the perfect spot for coffee lovers. I had their iced latte, and it was perfectly balanced—not too sweet but just right. The atmosphere is chill and welcoming, with a nice mix of locals hanging out. I also tried their pastries, and they were so fresh and delicious. Definitely a great place to study or just relax.
Really friendly service and nice place to work - plenty of outlets albeit no WiFi. I got an iced latte and it was solid!
literally sweetest staff ever omg drink was delicious, clearly made with love
Big props for supporting the community with the ICE whistles. Many thanks for sticking up for the people.

I went to this cafe because they have hemp milk (very rare in coffee shops) and their drinks exceeded my expectations by a long shot! The flavors in their lattes are so delicious and even though they used dairy-free (vegan) milk in my drink it was really frothy and creamy. I've been craving a latte from them ever since!
I tried their popular horchata espresso, which was good. However, it just tasted like a very good iced cappuccino. The horchata taste doesn't stand out entirely to make this drink unique or worth $4.50. The art displayed inside was really great, however. I enjoyed the current artist being displayed (I came in this past weekend for your reference).
Good coffee, and for those lactose intolerant people, free almond milk!! Although there are plenty of seats, this place gets pretty packed. Learn to make new friends and join a table with random coffee drinkers!
Now I normally make fun of the hipster spend all day at cafe's sipping coffee and working on my laptop scene, but this cafe makes me understand why they like it. I haven't had the coffee but am told it's good, I can recommend the ice tea and lemonades. The have a variety of pastries and bagels that come with vegan cream cheese which are quite tasty. It's a little pricey so I wouldn't visit every day but going once in awhile to chat with some friends is quite nice.
Strawberry matcha could have way more strawberry in it.. always on a hunt trying strawberry matcha from different spots. 7/10
Small, local coffee shop with good quality coffee, calm and slightly upbeat vibe. Nice place to relax, read, work. I don’t remember the name of my latte but it has star anise and orange peel. I opted for oat milk. They have almond milk too. It was delicious! The atmosphere is fine, just a bit crowded and messy towards the back with coffee beans and an actual in-house roaster. So, while a bit messy, it’s also unique and cool to see.
the coffee was pretty good as we ordered two of the horchata latte hot and iced. they came out fairly quickly and the store really followed CoViD guidelines which pleased us. although the customer service was a little minimal it was an overall good visit in a nice part of town.
¿Que es un Cafe de Leche? Not too many people know the story behind this cafe. The story behind this originated from Mama Rosa who every time she has breakfast she would ask her kids to pass her coffee and hence the name of this coffee shop. This coffee shop is family owned and operated. They have other location in Altadena. I have lived in HP and this small, cute coffee shop is very popular among locals. Interior vibe was very relaxing and chill. Decor was cute. I ordered their hibiscus lemonade (16 oz) and it’s was refreshing and fruity. And I like it! Staff was friendly and welcoming. Street parking only. Overall, I had a good order experience. I highly recommend this local coffee shop.
A decent option for coffee in the area. Menu is on the smaller side without any big standouts. The Thai Style Cold Brew was okay. Decent seating inside and a couple tables on the sidewalk.

No WIFI. Would've appreciated a large sign somewhere, but maybe I missed it. I bought my coffee and felt disappointed, because the entire reason I visited was to get some work done and enjoy a cold brew. I told the employee I wanted a refund, and he did this with kindness. Just a warning.
Thought the large drinks were pricier than our Pasadena City College, CA., location but the barista was very friendly and welcoming. Restroom was kept super clean. They do currently close at 5pm, PST though but i would stick to my campus branch.

Stopped in because we were touring film locations and the outside of this shop was used in the filming of Reservoir Dogs. We got a couple of iced coffees and they were quite watery. The place was busy midday on a Wednesday with all the seats taken. They do have a cute little play area for kids.
I've been there a few times and I'm always disappointed in the espresso. I can tell the beans are good but the dial in is always off. The staff is friendly enough I guess.
Good coffee and nice interior. Very clean and nice. I can recommend the "Horchata espresso", but don't expect so much flavors from a "real" horchata. But very tasty.
So there I was, vacationing with my creative spouse in Highland Park. I enjoy coffee the way she enjoys art. So I see cafe de leche on the corner and want to give it a shot. And out walks the shop. It’s okay, got the horchata con espresso. Balance of milk, sweet and coffee is good. Coffee just doesn’t taste good at all. Not sure if the beans are subpar or if the shot was pulled wrong or both. It’s ok. I guess.
The inside is super cute but not much space to sit. And little variety in the menu. But the their lemonade is so good❤ And the staff is so nice!

The cafe is quaint and upbeat. No wifi is a big let down. Drinks wise-- The first time I went I had the strwb matcha which wasn't great, it tasted like strawberry milk and the matcha flavor is distant. Still had hope for the coffee and came back and ordered a latte. The coffee flavor is just okay. Another side note, I have been drinking oat milk for 3 years now and something about the one they use adds a very off-putting taste that overpowers the drink. Service was fine, the guy who works the front either looks upset or sad every time I'm here.

Kid in In the front the guy, great attitude he's going places in life the girl on the roaster I don't know I like how Starbucks picks employees it does psychological testing find a coffee shop. I will start doing that. It's almost like oh I'm sorry I bothering you at work.
We left an expensive backpack there, called the next day and a really nice staff member told us they'd put it in the back. We went to pick it up the next day and the owner told us they threw it out. They showed no apology or remorse and didn't offer to pay for it. Pretty disgusting considering it was a brand new $200 hiking backpack full of personal items.
We got 1 latte , Americano, and horchata espresso and it was terrible!!!! We are coffee lovers and this was soooo disappointing tasted like straight milk! My dad got the horchata with an extra shot of espresso and still tasted like milk. First and last time I go. This place should be called taza de Leche since it was basically a cup of milk
If you tried their Horchata espresso, you'd get diabetes. It was extremely sweet. Decided to give these guys another chance after a couple of months when I tried their Horchata espresso that tasted like pure milk but it was still disappointed.
