Ok, I love the vibe. I love the pool. I LOVE the drinks. It is relaxing and the pool is just "big" enough to not be too small. If you need sunshine, positive vibes, and a pool experience, stay here.
Thank you Victor at Bar Clara for the superb level of hospitality! He made a wonderful last word and espresso martini with a hint of cinnamon. I also had a guest who doesn’t consume alcohol so he made a wonderful mocktail for them. The pool is ACCESSIBLE and heated! The outdoor area is really nice and clean. Would love to come back, even if I’m not staying at the hotel.
A very relaxed mid afternoon with attentive but not overbearing service.
I came here at around 3:30pm on a Monday and it was so quiet and the pool is absolutely divine! The views, the FOOD, and of course the lovely cocktails 🤌. This place is a gem. It shall become a regular place for me.
Love this new rooftop bar! This is now my favorite rooftop for food and drinks in DTLA. This location used to the be nomad hotel
Cute, cozy rooftop bar. Came here around 730ish. It wasn't too crowded and had plenty of seating room. It does get more crowded later into the evening. Nice spot to catch up with friends. Noise level was minimal, and I can happily hear conversations.
Divine is the only way to describe this beautiful rooftop location. Excellent service, beautiful views, and quality food. What can be better?
Amazing spot just walked in
Came in for a quick drink and healthy snack. Mind you the rooftop atmosphere is totally a vibe. Definitely a spot to come to when the sun is out!

Favorite spot for Brunch 🥂 the food is amazing try the Steak frites and their mimosas are superb, also their desserts are exquisite. The atmosphere is chill and the pool with Dtla view is incredible. Their manager Alex Mirzain made the guest experience five stars.
This rooftop pool is great. Whoever trained the staff did a great job. They don’t press customers to order which is amazing. I love coming here in the summer get my cocktail and sunbathe. This is the spot for sure!

Great place and the hotel was excellent. Good food and the barman always remembered us and what we drank! Thank you
Nice roof top bar with a good selection of drinks and food and friendly staff. We called in on our last day in LA for a drink and to relax in the sun for a bit, it was really nice and would recommend

Although the food is nice, I would have liked to see small pool side items available along with the rest of the impressive menu. The menu feels more like a restaurant style rather than a rooftop pool bar and it's hard to catch the vibe. I loved the salad ! It's so flavorful! The octopus is PERFECTLY cooked, as well as the steak. No complaints on the food quality and taste but It would be nice to have smaller handheld items to snack on while mingling by the pool.
Really nice rooftop and views. The place is nice and modern with lots of color and plants. The drinks were delicious, but the food and service weren’t that great. Probably not a place I would frequent but cool spot if you are in the area.

*Used Chase Sapphire* Ordered the Salmon Crudo (which was 3 small slices of salmon for $20) and the bignetes (6 pieces for $18) Definitely an overpriced place to eat that I wouldn't spend money at without the applied hotel credits. Service speed was fine, but there was only a few other people there when I went.
I stayed at the Hotel Per La for 3 nights and came to Bar Clara twice. The first time, I was trying to lounge at the pool…no go. It is super cute, but a very small area with very limited lounge chairs and it was super crowded. One server told me they also sell pool passes to non-hotel guests - if this is true, they really should stop. I hung around at a table for awhile to see if anyone left, but from where the tables are, it’s hard to see the pool area. You would basically have to stand around the pool and wait awkwardly and possibly forever to try to get a chair. As it got later, I got lucky with a wicker loveseat and sat there and ordered the hummus. The portion of hummus was decent and it was very aesthetic, but it said it had beef shawarma so I pictured some protein - it’s more like a crumble of ground beef. The second time, I went for dinner. I sat at a table forever and no server ever came by, even when I tried to flag the one guy down. I finally went into the bar and asked if there’s a server and a worker said to order at the bar. I ordered the steak frites and a water from the bartender and she said to get your own water at the water station. They gave me a number and then someone brought the plate to where I was sitting. The fries were good, but the steak was chewy/tough and not super flavorful, despite the chimichurri on top and the side of aioli. I still tipped 20%, but didn’t really consider that restaurant service and no one ever checked to see if I needed anything or if the food was ok. The rooftop fresh air was really the best part.
Very cute rooftop bar. It's actually rather quiet and tame up here on weekends. They have a restaurant in the first floor with live jazz that tends to have more people. My only qualm with this place was the drink prices and quality. We paid about $20 per cocktail and the margaritas just looked kind of skimpy. I added a photo so you can see the glass was half full when served. My martini was decent, however.
A beautiful rooftop terrace and bar offering an interesting drinks list, but the service we received from the barman was pitiful, and the few food items we ordered from the menu were merely okay. Given that we were seated in the gated part of the terrace, not near the pool, drinks should have been served in glassware, not plastic.

I had a package at the hotel that included dining credits. Little did I know that the main restaurant would be closed. Bar Clara and the overpriced bar food were the only option. The servers at lunch were fantastic. (At dinner, not so much.) The cocktails were good enough. The happy hour drinks mezcal margarita I had was better than the full priced cocktail I had at dinner that I think they made with the wrong base (or brought me the wrong drink despite insisting he didn't.) The only reasonable think on the menu is the french fries. They were delicious. Everything else was ridiculous. The picture is a $40 salad!! Even though the steak costs an extra $16, I am glad I got it because I never imagined the base salad that costs almost $25 would be a handful of frisée and 2 tiny beets cut in quarters with some dressing. The wings were tiny - seriously about 2 - 2.5 in long. The staff in the evening is incredibly inattentive. I finally got takeout because it was freezing by the time anything came out. Everything was a disappointment.
Update Review 2: So I ended up coming back with my parents and wow have thing changed…. The waiter was missing 3/4 of the time to the point we had to get up to get our own water, our meals were brought to us 10-30minutes apart and the melon salad thing for $20+ is a rip off. The sizes of thing got way smaller and I now wish we just went to the taco truck on the corner and didn’t spend $200 on a meal. Food: 8/10 Value: 3/10 Service: 2/10 Review 1: I love it here! Bar Clara is such a great chill vibe. Great drinks, great food, Aaron the waiter 10/10 great, and apparently they have a dj from 6:30 - close on Thursday's and Fridays. Overall it’s great here! Definitely coming back!

I am writing to formally express my disappointment and concern regarding the service my party and I received at Bar Clara in Downtown Los Angeles on June 30th, 2024. What was meant to be a pleasant and memorable experience at your rooftop bar was unfortunately overshadowed by the conduct of one of your servers, Victor. Upon our arrival, Victor made a series of inappropriate and off-putting jokes, including repeated comments implying that we somehow did not have access or permission to be there. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere right from the start. Despite the well-known appeal of Bar Clara being its rooftop ambiance and view, Victor seated us under a canopy and proceeded to close off all surrounding windows. This not only isolated us from the rest of the space but entirely removed the view — a major reason for our visit. Matters worsened when we overheard Victor speaking to a nearby table, saying, “If those girls are too loud we will have security remove them immediately.” This was both unnecessary and deeply unprofessional, especially as no such behavior had occurred. Furthermore, Victor made an inappropriate comment directed at a member of our party regarding a sunburn on her chest area. This was entirely out of line and made her feel objectified and embarrassed. Throughout our time there, Victor was dismissive and seemed intent on rushing us through the experience. We also noticed him making jokes at our expense to other guests — behavior that is unacceptable in any professional hospitality setting. This experience left us feeling unwelcome, disrespected, and frankly, shocked by the lack of basic courtesy and professionalism. I am bringing this to your attention in the hope that steps will be taken to ensure that no other guests are treated in this manner in the future. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
