Yemeni Flavors & Unforgettable Kadak Chai! If you're looking for true Yemeni cuisine in LA, House of Mandi is an absolute must-visit! They have two locations, one close to Santa Monica blvd and 2nd in Anaheim, I went to the Santa Monica one. From the moment you walk in, the rich aromas of slow-cooked meats and fragrant spices transport you straight to the heart of Yemen. Plus their atmosphere is so welcoming with authentic seating, traditional on the floor or on the table. Their Mandi is the star of the show whether you go for the succulent lamb (falling-off-the-bone tender) or the juicy, smoky chicken, every bite is packed with deep, authentic flavor. The rice, infused with aromatic spices, nuts, raisins and cooked to perfection, is the ideal companion to the melt-in-your-mouth meat. And the serving size is huge whether it's a Main course or the famous fatoush salad. But the real highlight? Their 'Kadak Chai!' Bold, spiced, and perfectly sweetened, this tea is an experience in itself. It’s so good that no meal here is complete without it—the ideal way to end your feast on a warm, comforting note. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, and the service is warm and welcoming. Whether you're a Mandi first-timer or a longtime fan, House of Mandi delivers an unforgettable dining experience. I will be visiting again next time I am in LA.
Came here for dinner with my husband for our one year anniversary of the first date we ever had. Food was 10/10 and service was also 10/10. Server was Azzam, he was very respectful and even gave us the same corner booth we were in previously. Food we got the chicken madhbi (grilled chicken on rice) and lamb madhbi (grilled lamb on rice) and side salad fattoush. Everything was amazing. Fresh. Love the sauces. Ended with chai. Would come back again.
Mandi House is truly a hidden gem! The food was absolutely amazing—flavorful, authentic, and cooked to perfection. Every dish was rich with spices and freshness, making it a memorable dining experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was just as impressive as the food. Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone looking for delicious, authentic cuisine.
I went here with 12 people for my birthday, and it was truly an amazing experience. Food was AMAZING. Lamb and chicken platters were falling off the bone. We got to sit on the floor and dine together. The waiter, Kori, was great. He was super friendly and took a group picture for us. Afterwards they turned the lights off and did a special song for my birthday. I loved it and will definitely be coming back here a lot more.
A really good halal Mandi place in LA area. I am visiting this area and a few friends recommended this place. I must say the atmosphere is good, staff is very friendly and the food is great. Due to the location I found parking challenging. We ordered salad, chicken mandi, chicken madhbi, and spicy potatoes. Mandi and madhbi was fresh and the rice has a really good taste. Chicken was well cooked. Salad was super fresh and potatoes were so good, spicy but not too much. Even when we took the left over food and asked for extra sauce, they were kind enough to give more than what we asked. One last thing (definitely not a downside or negative to the restaurant itself but someone who is coming here), you will find it pricey than other restaurants.
My family and I had such a great experience here. We sat in the traditional floor seating. Shoes off! We started with their house made hummus and freshly baked bread. The bread is baked to perfection. For the main dish, we had half lamb half chicken mandi. It said it served five but easily can serve eight or nine. We had leftovers for the next day. The chicken was so juicy and tender. The lamb is out of this world! The lamb was definitely my favorite. It comes with two sauces. One is a spicy tomato salsa, and the other is like a yogurt cucumber sauce. We also ordered a lamb salad dish, which was cooked differently than the lamb in the main dish but also very delicious. The salad had a nice zesty kick to it. For dessert, we had a slice of fresh sabaya and a pot of tea with mint. Service was great! Everyone was so welcoming and pleasant. Highly recommend.
First time we tried Yemenish food and it didn’t disappoint. We loved this type of food and we ordered the chicken plate and eggplant with peta bread. This restaurant is very cleaned and the ambiance is ambiance👍. Highly recommended and would come again. Food is very tasty😋 The best part is Karak tea👍
First time eating Yemeni food, and Mandi House was a great place to start! Our server, Azzam, recommended the hrada of shrimp, lamb mandi, and hrada of fahsah, and they were all absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Lots of spices, but not spicy or hot. We also got massoob fatta for dessert, and it was rich and delicious. We had plenty of leftovers to take home with us. The restaurant was busy but not too full. We were seated quickly, even on a Saturday evening, and the food came quickly as well. Highly recommend Mandi House!
Craving for tasty Mandi in a good atmosphere, Mandi house is the place to visit in LA. Traditional ambiance, tasty food with large food quantity what else you need to enjoy. Food quantity is usually large for all the dishes so be mindful of the food quantity. Karak tea was awesome as well
Excellent atmosphere, overall restaurant has such a nice positive vibes. Clean, staff is all so friendly and accommodating. We asked them to change the whole dish and they did without any questions asked . Food tastes so good , mouth watering. I haven’t tried that good Mandi anywhere in CA. Lemon mint , is refreshing. Crème bruelle is heavenly. In short every thing about this restaurant is best, . This is my second time, especially came from Santa Clara for this restaurant. I recommend this to everyone 100 percent
Phenomenal. Food was so good. We didn’t even get a picture before digging in. The Madhbi- Grilled Lamb | لحم مظبي على الحجر was incredible and the lunch portion was honestly enough for three people. We also got the zahouq (essentially a labneh) as well as the lamb soup, which was really more of a broth, but it was so powerfully flavorful and warming, especially on a cold day. Generous portions, reasonable prices, and outstanding flavors. We will definitely be back! The lamb was honestly as good as you would find at some of the top restaurants in LA like Bavel/Saffys. Never had Yemeni food before, but this definitely won’t be the last time. If you like Middle Eastern/Indian food, you will love this place!
House of Mandi is one of the best spots for authentic Yemeni food in LA. The mandi is perfectly cooked, the meat and chicken are flavorful, and the rice is fragrant and fresh. Portions are generous, and the service is always friendly and welcoming. Definitely a must-visit — but pricy and needs to be worked on. As well as the music is too much and loud.
Had an amazing experience at Mandi House. The lamb mandi was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the chicken mandi was perfectly cooked with beautifully spiced, fragrant rice. The kabobs were juicy, well-seasoned, and grilled to perfection. The ambiance was warm and elegant, making it a great spot for special occasions.
One of the best restaurants in all of Los Angeles! The atmosphere is great, spreading the Yemeni and Arab culture everywhere! Of course, the food was delicious. Their signature chicken and lamb mendi was delicious! Jazak Allah Khair!
Noah in Mandi House, California delivers a truly 5-star experience. The service is warm and attentive, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Everything felt well thought-out and high quality. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be coming back!
I had an amazing experience at Mandi House! The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor, but what truly made our visit special was the incredible service from our waiter, Malek. Malek was extremely friendly, attentive, and professional from the moment we sat down. He made sure everything was perfect, checked on us at the right times, and made us feel very welcome. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely cares about giving customers such a great experience. Because of Malek’s outstanding service, our meal was even more enjoyable. He is truly one of the best waiters I’ve ever had. If you visit Mandi House, I highly recommend asking for Malek—you won’t be disappointed! Thank you, Malek, for making our visit so memorable. We will definitely be coming back!
I had an amazing experience at Mandi House! The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor. One of the best things about this place is their fish — it was perfectly cooked, fresh, and seasoned so well. The grilled fish was juicy and tender, and the fried fish had the perfect crispy texture on the outside while staying soft inside, Honestly, some of the best fish I’ve had in a long time, The mandi rice was rich in flavor and perfectly spiced, and everything tasted fresh and high quality. You can really tell they care about the food they serve, The service was amazing — the staff were friendly, welcoming, and very attentive, They made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in, I truly enjoyed the whole experience, and I will definitely be coming back with my family and some good friends, Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful experience at Beit Al Mandi Al Yemeni. The food was absolutely delicious and very authentic. We were a group of 6 people, and each person paid around $35, which was totally worth it for the quality and quantity. We ordered two mandi lamb dishes, haneeth, okra, gravy, and a variety of salads. Everything was flavorful, well-cooked, and very satisfying. Special thanks to Amani, who provided outstanding service. She was extremely kind, respectful, and attentive. Her professionalism and friendly attitude truly made our dining experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great Yemeni food and excellent service. We will definitely come back!
It was my first time trying a Yemeni restaurant, and I will definitely repeat the experience when I come back to Los Angeles. Everything was beyond amazing; the mandi, the lamb liver, and the wonderful Yemeni dishes like haneeth, madhbi chicken, and the fattoush salad. The desserts were great too, especially the crème brûlée, along with the lemon mint juice. Thank you so much you truly made us happy. We appreciate your warm hospitality specially Ahmad and thank you for your excellent taste.
Amazing and Authentic Food! This was a great experience! We went for a birthday dinner with a very large group, and Malik took excellent care of our table. We chose to sit on the floor cushions, which added to the authentic atmosphere. However, if you prefer, they also have regular tables. Just a heads-up, if you go for the cushion seating, you'll need to remove your shoes. Everything was incredibly tasty. We started with lentil soup and fattoush salad, both were delicious, and the salad was one of the best I've ever had. For shared sides, we had Mushakal Forn, a fried mixed vegetables, including eggplant and potato. It was absolutely delicious. We also tried the Yemeni kebab, which I highly recommend, as well as their hummus. For the main dish, we went with The Impossible Dish, a mix of lamb and chicken varieties. If you're unsure what to order, this is a great choice. Most dishes also come with a large piece of bread as well. They gave us complimentary tea and coffee since we were a large group. Their traditional tea was incredible, but I wasn't a fan of the coffee. Overall, a must try!
Great place for yemeni food. The portions are massive good food overall. We ordered the 5 person haneed with lamb and Mandi chicken and also the hrada with shrimpna. Both items were so delicious. The shrimp was cooked so well and it was the favorite dish of the group. The 5 person dish with a fully tender bone in lamb, lamb item and Mandi chicken was so delicious. It came with pilaf that includes raisins and tons for fried garlic and onions. Overall the food was really good. The Arabic coffee was also very good with large hints of cardamom. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the items we ordered and answered any questions we had. There is a sit-down without shoes section which adds to the experience. The only downside is they only give you water bottles when you request water.
My first experience with Yemen’s cuisine and it was delicious. The breads, dips, stews, and rice were all excellent. The ambiance with bright light and the smell of cleaning products takes the atmosphere score down for me but all 5 stars for food and service. I would absolutely come back.
Incredible food and overall atmosphere!! This is my first time trying Yemeni cuisine and I fell in love!! I have fell head over heels for their Hrada of Seltah and Lamb Mandi. THE TASTE IS LIKE NOTHING I’VE EVER HAD BEFORE!! It’s worth the traffic, plus the servers are very kind! Will be returning as often as I can!
Yemeni hospitality has a warmth and generosity that makes you feel honored to be there. Every dish feels deeply rooted in tradition, rich with perfectly balanced spices and slow-cooked care, as if generations of love were poured into it. The mandi was unbelievably tender and fragrant. My friends and I enjoyed every meal, thank you once again for the amazing hospitality.
Flatbread absolute best and tea was delicious, meat is tender and rice is flavored well. Comfort food at its best, kids loved it, leftovers at home heated up nicely later. Overall, great experience!
Wow, wow, wow!!! Thank you so much Kori!! We came in for a new experience and came out with the best experience. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was such a big serving and the offer variety as far as me and also vegetarian options. We came in a group of 16 and we all left very happy and please. Thank you so much Kori for all your service. This was absolutely the best.
Food was amazing!! I've had middle eastern food in the past and this by far has been my best experience. The restaurant itself is nice and clean. I had lamb chops; they were really tasty--even ordered another to go. The bread was delicious as well. I will definitely go back. Such a great find!
Scrumptious food & lovely ambience - I was initially hesitant coz I had never tried Yemenese cuisine before, but wow it was so good! The portion size of the Mutton biryani was beyond expectations, but the one thing I absolutely fell for was the Chai/Tea which they served - I have rarely found good tea even in the Indian restaurants, tbh. Overall, strongly recommended especially for South Asians.
Our waiter Moseat was great. He showed great care and was very professional. We ordered lamb Mandi and lamb haneeth. Also Karak chai which were all great.
Mandi House in LA was such a great experience. The mandi was incredibly flavorful, the meat was tender, and everything felt authentic and comforting. Perfect spot for sharing a hearty meal and really enjoying Yemeni cuisine.
Really festive atmosphere, and around the clock service between multiple servers. They keep bringing extra bread to keep you going. The bread looks large in size, but you burn through it really fast. We really enjoyed all our food, and there are green chilies on top of the entrees incase you want to spice it up, but the food is mild. The dessert was a little too sweet for me, but the hubby enjoyed it, and finished it off. We ordered the banana bread with banana slices. We got Mandi rice and two entrees, one was potato, okra, and ground beef, and second was lamb and beef mix. House sauces are delicious too and the hummus is very fresh. We ended our meal with some warm black team. They are open late as well. Great place to come as a couple or as a family. Traditional and festive decor inside.
First time trying Yemeni food and it was outstanding. The food was hot and flavourful, very filling as well. Malik was excellent

Wow. Just wow. Lamb Mandi and Fahsah along with their chicken Mandi is probably one of the best meat I’ve ever had. Place is extremely clean and staff is super friendly. Would love to see this place open in San Diego. Everyone I’m driving to LA, I have to stop by this Mandi house.
Food was delicious. Staff was sweet. Atmosphere was very authentic. Chicken was a lil burnt when we ordered grilled so next time we will order it baked.
Best Arabic food we’ve ever eaten in America. If you’re searching authentic that’s the best place for you. With aroma, taste, vibe, and music that takes you away right to the Sahara and the Red Sea. To discover more, follow our instagram @gemislist
Food had some bone chips in it and got a mouthful of fat on one bite, but the 99 other bites were great. It’s just one of those small things that can really mess up the eating experience. Also my girlfriend’s chili pepper was cooked like mine was. Minor things. Portion size was good: 2 people can split one “lunch” dish… maybe a little too much rice. Service was great. I think our server’s name was /manic/… I think I got it wrong, but it’s close enough. He was very nice and responsive. Atmosphere was good. Went at a dead hour (4pm on Wednesday) so it was just us and 1 other couple. Business picked up by the time we were done around 5pm. Fun music, beautiful booths, and a glitchy TV showing Yemeni landscapes and old cities (love it personally).
I came here with my family yesterday and had a nice experience. Service is pretty slow (we had to wait 30 minutes for someone to take our order- they need a lot more staff than what they had) and the place was very busy but the food was awesome. We ordered the grilled chicken with rice and hradha of shrimp which were very flavorful. Fasolia with eggs was good but a bit bland. The setup is great for sharing food with a large group. Would definitely go again.
Cool spot in Westwood near UCLA. It was busy on Saturday night but it was a fun experience. We had to park about a block away so be prepared to walk. Overall the food was good And service was good too.
Food was great and presentation was even better. The servers were there kids(?) which was a cute touch but they were attentive. We had the mandi plate which was suited for 3 people but it was just 2 of us, so plenty of food leftover. Leftover tasted great too. Id highly recommend coming here with a guest visiting the area.

Let me start with the fact that we drove 7 hours from Arizona to try this place. Let our server know of this upon arrival. Ordered the chicken Mandi x2. Hummus with naan bread, and mint drink. The chicken was extremely dry and the rice was stale. Both came out cold. The onions were cooked from way before. Nothing was fresh. The naan was cold which we asked to be changed but the new one was clearly heated up and for some reason very chewy. Hummus was watered down. The sauces had no taste to them. The service was odd - our server walked out half way through our meal without telling us so we had no one who was helping us. No one asked if we needed anything or how the food was. We skipped dessert knowing it would likely also be bad. We really wanted to like this place and give this place a good rating (especially as a power reviewer on Google) but are extremely disappointed and would never come back.
