Very popular Cafe with a vast menu and fresh pastries etc. It has a good vibe and loved the seating out front. Unfortunately my almond milk hot chocolate was barely luke warm but is was still delicious. The ham and cheese croissant was tasty and fresh. I would definitely go back again. It seems to be a bit of a local meeting place.
Wow! What a true gem. I came for a Jazzo class in the back (free, btw) and after a couple hours of slow movement, I got to spend the peaceful mind time I had cultivated in this wonderfully barn-like cafe in the middle of LA. What a nice reprieve. It felt like I was in silver lake. A rare combination of insanely good and authentic cappuccinos and nourishing, well designed salads that compliment the vibe of Williamsburg NY. My new favorite cafe in LA. Add that it's focused on conversation in most spots, with a perch for remote work and the owner Yasha dotes on friends and customers it's just everything you want to feel at home and welcomed and filled with trust in a small cafe in a big city.
Stopped in for breakfast this morning for my first time and had a great experience. Parking is easy so we were able to find a place right out front. They have seating available inside as well as many tables out front. The staff we encountered was very polite and helpful as well. To start the pastries were fantastic. We tried the sugary croissant and the cheese Danish and both were a real highlight to the meal. The Orange Juice was fresh and perfect and the Latte was very good as well. For our meal we chose the Huevos Rancheros and the Avocado Toast. I wish the portion size of the Huevos Rancheros were larger but the taste really was very good. I plan to be back in the future to try other dishes and would recommend to anyone looking for a solid breakfast option.
I’m adding this to my fav food places I went on Tuesday And came back again on Thursday. The food and the atmosphere was so good. I had the Salmon Niçoise salad that thing was packed with so much flavor I didn’t even need the dressing. High wooden ceilings make this a beautifully aesthetic place to look at that has great food
Probably one of the coolest cafes in Los Angeles 🔥 Great coffee, cool staff, great atmosphere and awesome owners! You can find anything you are looking for here. A must visit ❤️
The kale and roasted Brussel sprout salad was awesome! It has pepitas and pomegranate seeds, and I added chicken (for a fee), and it was absolutely delicious!! The fries are great too- they are thin cut and crispy, not soggy at all or overly oily- just perfect. Outside and inside seating, and pet friendly outside too. Pretty easy parking at 6pm- lots of open parking meter spaces on the side streets. It was my first time here, and I'll definitely return. Fyi, in the evening, they only serve the dinner menu, and you can't order items from the lunch menu. But the dinner menu has plenty to offer.
Food is always fantastic. Staff goes above and beyond. One of the best spots in the neighborhood!
Our favorite spot. We’ve been coming here every week for a year since we discovered it. The atmosphere has a very neighborhood, community feel to it. The coffee is amazing - they use organic milk, they make their own syrups. The flourless chocolate cake (gluten free!) is a typical breakfast treat for me. Lots of tables. A great place to sit and enjoy!
We love it here!! A great local gem. Delicious food and coffee and a great place to get work done too. It’s always a good vibe, highly recommend any time of day!
I love this spot so much. So cozy and cute! Everyone that works here is the nicest. Andrii is always so sweet and welcoming. Food is great, coffee is great!
Food is amazing and the employees are so sweet. Also, the website is really easy to use when ordering. There's no other place like Paper or Plastik.
A funky place with excellent food. There was even a "floor show"...a ballet class in session that we could see through a window.
This is a truly special place. From incredibly delicious third wave coffee to a warm, cosy atmosphere, fun, quirky design, and even an adjacent dance studio, it’s the kind of café that makes you smile and lights a little flame in your heart. It’s full of art and intent, and you can feel how much the owners care about community and what a café can bring to a city. Bonus, the shrimp taco, burger, and thin apple pie are all genuinely delicious, we’d recommend all three.
This place is a whole vibe. The inside is incredibly beautiful, so much warm wood everywhere, which I personally love. It feels super chill while still lively, like the perfect spot to relax or get some work done. I ordered a hot matcha and it was not only beautiful but tasted amazing. Big shoutout to the lady in the front with the blonde hair, she was super attentive and made the experience even better. Definitely coming back!
I absolutely love Paper or Plastik Café — it has become my everyday workspace and a true staple in my routine. I used to rotate between different cafés in the area, but I eventually stopped going anywhere else because their food options just don’t compare. Paper or Plastik has a much better variety, everything tastes fresh, and it actually keeps me energized while I work. The atmosphere is perfect for long laptop sessions: spacious, warm, creative, and never too loud. I can spend hours here and stay completely focused. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the service. Yulia and Andrii always make each visit smoother with their professionalism, attention, and consistently positive attitude. They are fast thinkers and incredibly quick, creative problem-solvers — whether it’s a busy rush, a special request, or anything unexpected, they handle it effortlessly. They genuinely elevate the experience every single time. If you’re looking for great coffee, great food, and an environment that makes you want to stay and create — this café is unmatched. Highly recommend. 💛
Not your usual cafe 🔥 Food and ambiance is great! The patty size is not as big as I expected but overall it’s good. I was just stopping by for coffee and to my surprise they got a vast variety of menu from salads, burgers and etc. Must try!
It’s always vibes. Been visiting/recommending over 10 years. Quality food and drinks: snacks, dessert, healthful meals, all kinds of coffee, tea, beer, cocktails. 👌 Very fun interior/furniture/decor, including upstairs loft balcony thing with little tables, wood, metal, concrete, glass, and lightly-sheltered patio on Pico and Ogden. Big old school glass windows, natural lighting. Dance studio in back.
Found this place because my dance class is in the studio connected to it. I’ve grabbed a vanilla iced latte and a matcha latte before class and both were good, though I prefer their vanilla latte. I haven’t tried their food or pasteries but they seem to have good options. They sometimes even have live music! They also have plenty of seating both inside and outside.
This place is super hip and cute with a nice menu of various drinks and food. Lovely place for a coffee day or to hang out and read for a few hours.
The pastry’s are wonderfully fresh. I recommend the cinnamon roll or the Blueberry Morning Roll. Both were very moist. Coffee was good, I think most people wouldn’t have any issues with service or food here! Parking is decent outside, around 8 spots on the road. Seating is plentiful, but I imagine it gets packed. Outdoor seating available (4 tables in shade).
Miso bowl was delicious many thanks to Andrew for recs I will definitely be back soon for a croissant and coffee for breakfast 😋
Their laptop policy is weird 🥲 anyways staff is friendly especially Andrei Iced chai is also not bad

My favorite neighborhood cafe! I have been coming here for over 10 years. It's family run, cozy, and a great place to read. They have solid food, coffee, and matcha. These are the spots I like frequenting, not just cause the staff is kind but because you feel a sense of community. You can go to any Blue Bottle or Alfred, but they don't offer the same genuine experience. I hope this place is around forever. I will continue to be a devout regular :)
Place is amazing. I make shakshuka at home and theirs is so good. Coffee is great too. The space is incredible
This is one of my favorite restaurants to get delicious food and coffee. I probably go at least once a week and their salads are always fresh and hearty and they’re not overly expensive and the staff is friendly and courteous, and the coffees are out of this world. Highly recommend as a neighborhood café

4 ⭐️ because the service isn’t the best. Some of the baristas, do t greet you when you walk in and they don’t smile. They look miserable. There were two staff members that were very nice. Despite the lack in friendly service, they still make a great cup of coffee. And the breakfast croissant sandwich is amazing! My husband and I will continue to come in. We just don’t except to be greeted with friendly service and we’re fine with that.
It was our first time at Paper or Plastik Cafe and it was a lovely find!! It sits on a relatively quiet corner with ample indoor & outdoor seating. Place your order inside at the counter and find yourself a table, the friendly staff will bring your food out to you. We had a mimosa bucket, French toast, croissant sandwich and salad. Everything was fresh and tasty! You can’t beat a $20 mimosa bucket!! Inside has a lovely cafe vibe with an upstairs area with additional seating. I’ll definitely be back for a coffee while I work!
Kind of felt like San Francisco, been there for years, has huge warehouse space with heavy wood beams and iron everywhere. Food is good, variety of ages coming and going and from the mezzanine you might see professional dancers practicing their art. Oddly enough the cafe doesn’t allow laptops, maybe they don’t want people camping for hours ordering 1 coffee. 🤷🏻

Coffee is good quality but nothing special... they serve food too. I like that they have an upstairs space and plenty of seating and also outside seating. My coffee wasn't hot enough and neither was my friend's. 13.00 for two coffees and a croissant. Is go back if in the vicinity. It was only my first go around here
Coffee was good but not a great location to work from with friends. The staff will tell you to move to a designated area or put away your laptop.
This cafe has vibes., when you walk in it feels authentic, The original girl who greeted me in was very sweet , offered me a menu and had charisma, every other experience with every other employee was totally wack, the dirty chai I ordered. Didn’t have espresso in it, I asked to for an add shot. And they wanted to charge me 6 more dollars,…… after fighting with them for a second and asking for a manager multiple times they decided to give it to me for free, after I put the one shot in it was very clear my original “double dirty chai “. 100% had no espresso in it…,,,.. the burger had great presentation But honestly wasn’t anything special , they don’t have for here water cups just plastic disposable cups and I found that annoying and wasteful.,.. the French fries. Were actually really good…… overall cozy. Neighborhood cafe

It was okay. The tagine bowl wills filled with veggies but lacked flavor. Some veggies were hard to chew. My order was forgotten but then brought out fairly quickly. The lemonade was fresh but needed the ice to melt before it tasted its best. We ate outdoors on the side, which was okay, but the main street is a somewhat busy one. I wouldn't rush back but if in the neighborhood might consider it.
Cafes have a culture, and this one is not terribly inviting. You can see it immediately in the mostly miserable staff (of course, there's an exception or two), but then it all makes sense when you watch their senior management. They too just don't seem to like people. I get a couple of drinks each time I go there in an attempt to offset the contempt for laptops, I tip, and I keep my stay relatively short and confined to their laptop only areas. But this has not altered the apparent disdain for my existence. Then I noticed . . . it wasn't just me; they treated everyone this way. So, I don't come much. They don't need my $12. Aside from this, great space and in a location that can use this type of place. Often not full, at least during the week, because, well, read the above. Why do people open such a place to be so miserable about it?
I wonder if training of staff includes how to make an unwelcoming scowl. There is nothing too unique about their coffee but I love the atmosphere of this space. I haven't lived in LA for a bit so was glad this place was still here. After experiencing this 'attitude' I know I will not need to make a pilgrimage back here when I get back to LA.
The coffee is on my go-to list since it's close to where I live. I like the vibes and decorations, and you see more people who are in entertainment, producer, and writers at the coffee shop. However, customer service was terrible, 4/10. The staff (video) who brought the food out was insulting and gave clients a look, and slammed the dish on the table. I asked where I could get the sauce, and she did not even want to turn around; she did not answer and pointed at the other area with a nasty attitude. LOL, this is the first time I encountered this lousy service at the coffee shop in L.A. I came here in a great mood as a first-timer and was shocked to be treated that way. I thought she only did that to me, but she snapped at other clients too. Management, you need to train your staff in customer service, please. People would appreciate the friendly and kind attitude in this busy city. Do not show up if you can't bring your best selves to work. It's a coffee shop where people come to enjoy their work and day—lousy impression. If the foods and coffee are excellent, I can consider returning to make it up for the services. But, unfortunately, it did not deliver the standards for both.

The food was somewhat flavorless compared to other places Iv ordered from and I was very disappointed.regarding the bagel and lox, Out of four small slices of tomato ONE was the very tip of the tomato that you would normally discard. And the short rib hash had very miniscule pieces of flavorless meat. And the whites of the eggs were crispy fried which is NOT enjoyable. The sausage egg. The sausage egg N’ cheese sandwich left a lot to be desired, we couldn’t finish anything. The avacado toast was l bland and I was not impressed, I have yet to taste the chia pudding, but I don’t have high hopes for it. Sorry “PoP” you’re probably not going to get your business again and I will not be referring you to anyone. PS it is extremely rare that I ever leave a bad review with anyone
One of the dirtiest coffee shop I have been absolutely disgusting poor customer service. The Owner has bad attitude. Judge people by look at him not recommend this place at all don’t waste your money
My friends and I had a very unpleasant experience here. We ordered meals for dine-in, one plate came, and two others did not. After some time the waitress came out with a bag and said "these came out as to-go" and looked at us with a blank expression. We proceeded to explain that we had a number for our table, our other friend basically ate all of her food while we waited, and we'd like to eat here. We asked if she could at least plate the food so she took it away finally. 30 seconds later she comes back with the bag and puts it back on the table saying "the kitchen is too busy"... at this point we're like, okay can we speak to your manager? Manager comes... first thing he says is we can't refund you if you already ate your food.. we're like it's clearly still getting cold in the take out bag.. we say we'd like fresh food to eat here please.. he comes back 10 seconds later with our "fresh food". lol it was clearly the cold boxed food with the to go container of syrup. He didn't comp us, or offer a refund either. It was such a strange experience that really made us feel like we were somehow in the wrong for wanting to eat fresh plated food at the restaurant (as we tipped accordingly for such) and not from take out boxes that had been sitting at the counter for 20 min lol anyway, the food sucked regardless and was overpriced. c'est la vie
