Opinions de Ramen Hood Los Angeles
It’s an all vegan ramen shop! 🍜🌱 It’s located in a food court where many restaurants gather together 😋 The ramen has tons of garlic 🧄😂 and the noodles are thick and chewy 🍥 I was so surprised by the vegan egg, the taste and texture were amazing 😻✨ The soup was really good but a bit too rich for me 🍜💭
We have been here during our visit to Los Angeles. Just one word - Mindblowing!! We ordered Spicy Ramen. The broth was so fresh and very flavourful! Would definitely come back here for some more next time and would recommend 200%, if you’re planning to visit!
best ramen i’ve ever had! highly recommend the spicy ramen—the broth was flavorful and had a slight kick to it. the vegan egg was delicious as well!
Hands down my favorite vegan ramen spot in LA and that is saying a lot. I've had my fair share of vegan ramen in the last few years and coming to Ramen Hood just brought a huge smile to my face. Located inside Grand Central Market, Ramen Hood offers a fully plant-based menu and utilizes predominantly a sunflower seed broth which is very unique. Each bowl was around $15 and you can either eat at the counter (recommended) or ask for takeout and they'll put everything into a nice little package to rebuild wherever you go. During my first visit, I tried their Spicy Garlic Katsu Ramen. The broth was extremely flavorful and packed with umami, and includes OmniPork katsu, bok choy, king oyster mushrooms, and chili threads. The noodles themselves were excellent quality and I gulped down my bowl in what felt like an instant. I loved them so much that I ended up coming back here a second time during my most recent trip in LA. Getting downtown can be a challenge, but it's well worth it for this bowl of ramen itself. Whether you're vegan or not, this bowl is not to be passed up. I've had mediocre non-vegan ramen in my life and this blows all of those bowls out of the park.
Their spicy ramen is super flavorful and the noodles are perfectly chewy. Lots of seating.
Love this place! Quick, easy and plant based. I love soups (all kinds) and they have some of my favorite ramen here. I go with OG one and it’s always delicious 🍜
Amazing Ramen. Wouldn't even think there was no animals harmed to make it. I was lucky and came on a day when there was no line and places to sit at the counter. My soup came out in less than 5 minutes. Was great. Nice and Spicy, got the job done. Would recommend this place big time, especially to my vegetation and vegan friends
One of the best vegan ramens in the area. Ordered the 'pork' and OG ramens. Decent spiciness unlike other ramen places in LA. The broth was well balanced. Lots of people in the grand central market so may be hard to find a place to sit, outside the bar area. Overall good experience.
The vegan ramen here is always amazing. My favorite is the spicy ramen but the OG is also delicious. The broth is unbeatable! You can get a vegan egg as well, which lets you mimic more traditional ramen if that's your thing. I also really enjoy the avocado toast. 99 percent of the time the service is fantastic. we've gone for years and it's nearly always been perfect. Lately there's been one person who's been less than friendly a time or two. It's not close to enough to make me not recommend it, I'll always go and suggest everyone run immediately! It can get busy, and if it does youight have to wait or not be able to sit at the bar. I only want to sit at the bar so if that's you, plan accordingly.
The Spicy "Pork" Katsu is 10/10! MUST TRY! The BROTH...OMG...CHEF'S KISS!!!! I drove 2 hours to eat this for the first time, without telling the staff because I wanted to give an honest first impression and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Even my super picky 3 year old LOVED the noodles & broth! Will go back soon!
Taste wise I thought it matched up to all the Japanese places in the area. Some Japanese Ramen is a little too salty but the broth here is on point. Probably one of the best broth around. I thought the portions were too small. They only have veggie options which I did not mind. Great place!!
Great find, totally vegan ramen bar with fantastic choices. I had the spicy pork (omnipotent) and it tasted as good as any ramen I have tasted. Brilliant chef Will running a fast service. This whole place is amazing with a huge variety of food and drink outlets.
Quite possibly one of the best bowls of ramen I've had!!! Full transparency: I am vegetarian, so I can't compare to any meat ramen you've had. But the flavors in this bowl made me wish I had 5 stomachs to keep eating 🤣. Rather you're a vegan or not, Ramen Hood is definitely worth a try! (Come on, with a name this creative, you know they're mixing up the flavors too 😉)

Classic but New: flavorful, fresh, right balance of juicy/spicy, fresh veg, and deep satisfying umami. Pork cutlets are unexpected shape, but perfectly tender and clean. And the market location is just the perfect lunchtime noodle bar perch for people watching in LA’s vibrant heart.
Been to the Market dozens of times and always ignored this place. But not anymore. Best meatless ramen I've had to date. Tell your friends they have tots too. A match made in...LA.

So grateful to have found a vegan spot. Pork ramen was great (broth especially), but the broccoli side was INCREDIBLE. Loved my stop at Ramen Hood - would return.

Got the garlic ramen, very flavorful broth, fried oyster mushrooms and bok choy. Was filling, but it had huge fried garlics that I didn’t really enjoy.
Had been here a few years ago and tried it again and it was pretty good! The avocado toast has a bit of a different twist (but it’s really good). I didn’t enjoy what I had and I would definitely go again and try another dish. (Wasn’t too busy, but did go on a Sunday around noon)
Absolutely delicious and is ready in minutes even with a long line of people ordering. The customer service was also great. Quality of the food was amazing. And it was very decently priced. Combo meal was around 17 USD that included a main as well as a side and drink. Would have been 5 stars but vegan should mean ego packaging as well if your not going to let people take bowls away from the counter. (As there is not always room).
All choices are vegan, which is nice. The central market is full of options in general, with some other vegan options. Nice folks running the place. Food is flavorful. But it’s a very hectic place to visit and is difficult to find seating generally.

Ramen was good, guys were rude. It’s okay I get it but when you face tourists maybe you should be a little softer. If I ask for soy sauce you can’t tell me just no without explanation. Doesn’t matter. Vegan cold noodles were actually one of the best I’ve ever tried but with more smiles would be the best ever.
Ramen Hood is a unique spot in Grand Central Market serving 100% vegan ramen. I tried the Garlic Ramen, which comes with a broth made from kelp and dried mushrooms, blended with sunflower seeds and white miso to create a creamy base. The idea behind the broth is impressive, but the actual flavor felt quite light and clean rather than deeply rich. Toppings were mostly vegetables, keeping it fully plant-based, and the overall bowl was on the refreshing side. Seating is limited and the vibe is casual, so it’s more of a quick stop than a place to hang out. I appreciate the creativity and the effort to craft a vegan version of ramen, and it’s worth trying if you’re curious about plant-based takes on this classic dish.

One of the most mediocre ramens I’ve ever tried, with service that was equally dismal—a huge disappointment overall. With so many great offerings at Grand Central Market, Ramen Hood is unfortunately not one of them. From the start, the service was unwelcoming, with the staff taking my order showing a bad attitude and rudeness. After placing our order, we looked for seating, and about 15 minutes later, we were handed our meal with complete indifference. We had the spicy ramen, and it was disappointing in every aspect. The broth was overly salty, and the noodles were overcooked, resembling pasta more than authentic ramen noodles. It was an underwhelming meal served in a takeaway bowl. Although we were intrigued by the vegan ramen at Ramen Hood, the whole experience left us greatly disappointed.
