Opinions de The Spare Room Los Angeles
We went here when exploring the Hollywood area on a whim and looking for a comfortable lounge bar to end our evening with. Came across this one when searching for recommended lounges, and after passing 2 that weren’t the evening vibes we were hoping for, we were very happy to take a chance on this one. The Spare Room is on the mezzanine floor of the Roosevelt hotel, but doesn’t require you to be a guest or have reservations (at least we didn’t need to when we came on a Monday evening in January). Walking into the lounge, there’s a bar followed by a series of couches on the left, great for a date night or drinks after work with friends. Next to the couches are pool tables, they aren’t too full when we came in but I wouldn’t be surprised if they are popular on busier nights. The bartender was wonderful, easy to have conversations with and she was very accommodating when I asked if she could use less syrup and more coffee in the espresso martini, which was one of the best I’ve had in a while. Definitely overall has an atmosphere of authentic vibes, welcoming staff, and options to chill, chat, or play some games with friends old or new. There wasn’t live music when we came, but the bartender said there often is depending on the night, and we will look forward to coming again soon!
This is by far one of my favorite new bars. My bartender was Yael and she was amazing. The drinks she made were really tasty and she is very creative. She made us a bowl for our party with rum and passionfruit and was delicious and loaded. Highly recommended and ask for this famous bartender, she will hook you up!!! We will be back soon for more yummy drinks and good mix of old school hip hop and classics.
One of my new favorite spots in LA, especially in the area. HIGHLY recommend getting a reservation for a bowling lane if/when you go. There are only two lanes and we were lucky that there was a no-show when we went, so we were able to snag the open lane for the remaining 45 mins of the missed reservation. The lanes have an attendant and scorekeeper that manually keeps track on the chalkboard too, which is a unique twist to keep the old school vibes
Awesome place to get specialty drinks and bowl late night. We found it easily in the Roosevelt Hotel and had a great server that helped us get drinks and set up bowling. There are a lot of board games to play as well there, so paying the $100 to bowl for an hour isn't necessary. They had live music the first time I went here, and it was fantastic.
I went to the Spare Room in the Roosevelt Hotel on OSCAR Night, for an After OSCAR Awards Party, for the very First time in my life. I wondered Why, the Spare Room was called the Spare room. When I think of spare rooms in a house, I think of a room that is hardly used, and is often used for a catch all place to put things out of the way. I can Tell everyone, and many of You I'm sure knew it long before I figured it out. A Spare is also a Bowling term. Therefore, in the case of the Roosevelt Hotel, The Spare Room is a Bowling lane. On OSCAR Night, it was a good Meet and Greet Place, along with a mature Party atmosphere. Kind of reminded me of the 1970's, which very few places and events can remind me of. Why, did I go to this particular party, on OSCAR night, and why did I like this Venue, right across from where the OSCARS Were held? The Number One (1) Reason I went to this, and no other After OSCAR event celebration, was to meet established professionals in the Entertainment Industry. Did I accomplish my goal of networking? If so, in what way? I arrived at the Spare Room early, and located only One (1) of Two (2) booth tables that were not reserved. As the night went on, more and more people came in some of which shared my table with me. As a result, I got to meet several people, some I got to know, a few provided me with thier Bussiness card. Additionally, I danced like I have not done since I was in High School, when I was in the 9th, and 10th grades. Like I said, it was kind of like being in the 1970's. The ladies there that night were friendly, while being classy. Noone turned me down for a dance. At times it was groups of strangers dancing together.
Has a great vintage feel! The ambiance is warm and inviting. To the left of the alley they have booths to sit and play games. Great for birthdays. They have a bar as well.
What an awesome experience. Don’t go out in Hollywood often and was looking Dr something after the Hollywood Bowl. Great vibe. I’ll bowl next time!
Love this Hollywood location. The architecture was awesome. The people were festive and jovel. Had a great time just chilling in the lounge area.

Just had an amazing 40th birthday celebration here and can't recommend it highly enough. We priced out a ton of venues, particularly in Los Feliz/Silver Lake where we live, and Spare Room was hands down the best option and worth the 'schlep' from our side of town. Great cocktails, stellar pre-order food options (you can order there but for bigger groups it's worth pre-ordering), the bowling was a super fun activity to keep people entertained, and all of the servers were very attentive and friendly. Whether you're looking to host a party or just a fun night out with friends, Spare Room should be on your short list for sure. Also the hidden photo-booth! Always a sucker for fun details like that.
Coolest bar in the area. Big speakeasy vibes with low light, wood tones throughout. Bar is smaller with about 5 stools but there is wait staff that attends to the tables. Most of all there's the bowling alley, a draw on its own. 100% worth even just a drink at.
The red headed hostess made my night! I'm coming back.
Great spot for nice cocktails and/or bowling. Loved having a personal bowling attendant to keep score and help us maintain a flow regardless of running order

Now this is the kind of place where it’s a blend of rocking and silent evening. Superb place. Superb staff. Every staff was humble and really knowledgeable. Liked the way the place has a old touch yet modern vibes. Will visit again. If you are in LA then it’s a must visit. Only FEEDBACK or my dissatisfaction would be the website does not have any SSL and the booking through the website redirects to emails. While booking there goes a lot of email exchange back and forth and then I have to share my card number on email. Which I think is not safe. Such a great place should have a good website and you can block reservations through card using the website and should show the slots available.
One of The Best Craft Cocktail Joints in LA. Somewhat hidden in the historic Roosevelt Hotel is a brilliant bar that has a vintage bowling alley. The mixologists there are excellent and the leggy wait staff are gorgeous. It's best to get there early. 1) So you can get a decent seat. 2) Before they turn up the music to an obnoxious level. Having said that, you'll be hard pressed to get a better drink in the city of the angels.
This Place was a great little gem. It's a vintage bowling alley with only 2 lanes, so cute. It was nicely lit. Very dim. Decent bar, but they need more small food items on the menu. They practically have no food on their menu.

Been to this place twice now. First time was on a speakeasy/bar-hopping trip with my boyfriend, this was our third stop. It was quiet for a Thursday, which was loved. The bartender was struggling to get the drinks handled, my only minor complaint. They have bowling lanes here with old fashioned chalk boards to keep score that are so cute! Their booths are super cozy leather with bookcases to your left and a plethora of board games available. Their drink selection is superb. They even have a secret photobooth towards the front that we discovered when I came the second time for a friend's birthday. Overall, it has a fun fabulous vibe. I would recommend making reservations if you're going to go on a Friday or Saturday because it does get busy. I also think getting a table is totally worth it!
The cocktails here are delicious and are carefully crafted by the bartenders! The menu is quite diverse with unique ingredients that you won't find at other cocktail bars in the city. Each time I come I try to order different drinks, and I am never disappointed. If you like cocktails, this is definitely the place for you!
Great find drinks were good but I should have ordered a different one.

BIG NOTE: You cannot just use the bowling alley in here, you have to reserve it ahead of time AND it is 21 and over only. The wait staff are fantastic, 9/10. The music they play is okay, but not only is it loud, it is BLASTING. They turned it up at one point, so it got even worse. I'd asked them to lower it, because my friend was visiting from very far away, and we wanted to hang out, drink, and chat. They did not lower it. We had to scream at each other while sitting directly beside one another. If you get lost, let me guide you, because it can be hard to find. The easiest way to get there from the valet area, is to go under the stairs with water near it (pictured here). Go straight down the hallway about 15 feet, until you see elevators on your left. Take the elevator up to the "M" floor. Turn right as you exit the elevators, and it is immediately on your right up a couple of tiny stairs.

Got four drinks here and they automatically added a 20% tip. I hate tips being added automatically. Defeats the whole purpose of tipping. I’m sure this is nothing for most people but it really rubbed me the wrong way. Won’t ever go here again.
Nice place, service not bad, but paid $50 for two drinks — a gin martini and a fruity cocktail — and both were bad. The gin in the martini tasted cheap/off, and the other cocktail wasn’t good either. We both had awful lingering headaches the entire next day, which shouldn’t happen after two drinks. The music was also way too loud for conversation, and there was very limited seating at the bar. Overall, not a great experience, especially for the price.
