I made reservations kind of last minute not sure what to expect. Staff and management went above and beyond. They set their largest table aside. The non alcoholic cocktails were so delicious. The food was fast, fresh and amazing. The overall experience was more than we could ask for.
Great food but parking was not free. Seems to be an LA thing that plaza parking is closed by security and you need to pay. Parked on the road for 2 dollars half a block away.
Decided to finally try this place. I have to say it didn’t disappoint. All the employees were great and always checking on you. They offered suggestions on the menu and answered all questions that we had. The employees all did a great job. We just happened to go on taco Tuesday without realizing it. They had great deals for taco Tuesday. We each had 3 tacos and shared a nachos between the two of us and we were full. Both the tacos and nachos were a great quality and the flavors are very tasty. The decor and atmosphere suited the place and lots to look at. The bathrooms were clean and had great pictures of Danny from his iconic roles he has had. All in all I will definitely eat here again.
We had an awesome time here! Great tap list for the beers: We had the Trejo's Cerveza (chosen by us, you have to have the house beer!), Pizza Port Sharkbite and Stone Fear DIPA (selected for us by our server Tyler to help round out pur flight) and each brew was fantastic and complemented the other. We came in during happy hour and got all three flavors of street taco (chicken tinga, beef barbacoa, and mushroom asada). All were delicious! We also had an order of the nachos (no add-ons), which were very tasty and well-made (crisp, not soggy, but still with plenty of cheese, veggies, crema, etc.) Definitely a great lunch stop while we were here in LA, with immediate seating and a very short wait for food. Definitely give them a try when you can. Tyler and the rest of the wait staff were awesome, so happy they were part of our trip!
Not your typical tourist trap. The atmosphere is relaxed. The waiter and service was spot on. The food had excellent flavor. Portions were okay. I got the shrimp tacos and it was only 2 street sized tacos. For the 3 of us with drinks it came to about $100. Only way it could have been better was if Danny Trejo had randomly dropped in.
What a delightful find! I’m a big fan of Trejo’s Donuts, but Trejo’s Tacos absolutely lives up to the same high standards — delicious flavors and outstanding service. Our bartender, Tyler, was fantastic, and the margaritas had the perfect smoky kick. And the chips and salsa? To die for! The chips were fresh, warm, and finished with a hint of lime zest — simply incredible. Highly recommend! 🌮🍹✨
TLDR: Really good, quality food and drinks at a reasonable price and very good service. Had a great time here on a recent day trip to Hollywood. The restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating. We arrived around 2pm on Saturday and we were seated and waited on quickly. Meal came with free chips and salsa which is always great. Our waitress Erica was awesome and the food and drinks came out quickly. The menu was big with many food and drink options including a nice assortment of vegetarian taco options such as jackfruit, cauliflower and mushroom which my girlfriend enjoyed. I tried the fried chicken burrito - which sounded unusual but came highly recommended, and I have to say it was fantastic. The burrito was large and had nice fillings and sauce in addition to the meat. I also got it wet style with red sauce on top and it was excellent. For drinks we got an O.G. Margarita and a Strawberry Margarita and both were very tasty and refreshing. They were both on the stronger side which was nice and the strawberry one wasn’t as sweet as I was expecting which is also a plus. Tacos ranged from $4-$7 each but were large and pretty intricate. The burrito was about $15 but was large with lots of flavor. Drinks were on the pricey side at about $15 for a regular sized margarita and $19 for a large, but they were strong so I’d say worth it. All in all for the quality and speed I would say the food was very worth the cost. Really enjoyed my experience and would definitely come back.
Aww man! Great spot. Food was good. Had a bit of a traditional selection kinda like Rubios. Not necessarily like a traditional Mexican food you have grandma make you. I liked it. Left filled and satisfied. Think the only question we left wondering was....why no Mexican beer? Kinda weird. Cold Corona with a taco is a must for some. The service was awesome! They went out of there way to make us happy with what they had. A few items on the menu they didn't habe ingredients for. But if you're a fan of Trejos acting, has great memorabilia n merchandise there for you to get your hands on. The atmosphere was cool, and jus for the experience, I say stop by. The location is next to a dope record store and museums you might get a kick out of. Go get yourself some food at Trejo's Cantina!
I stopped here for lunch with my husband, and we will definitely be back. The service was fast and friendly. The food was fresh and delicious. The drinks were exceptional. I have zero complaints. We also bought a zero alcohol bottle of tequila to go. This is a really great place for awesome casual dining. Can't wait to go back.
I first was worried if I had just ended up picking this restaurant solely for the name, but from the first bite, I knew I was in good hands. I sampled 6 different tacos there, and while the carnitas & chicken tacos were delicious but familiar, you know which one really blew me away? The young jackfruit taco. Doesn't even make any sense to me when I say it out loud, but biting in, it faked me out, feeling like some of the most tender protein you could ask for. Also, the beers were good, but note the margarita in the second picture. I ended up finishing it, but seriously, a little more, the bartender would have had to hold my hand to escort me out. Speaking of the bartender, Jamie, man, that girl really held down the bar. I've done basic bartending before, and I would have been screaming if I had been in her shoes, just with how busy it was. But she kept pushing through, despite how busy it was. Awesome job from her, and awesome job from the chefs. Thanks, guys!
I had the pleasure of visiting Trejo's Mexican Restaurant, and I'm absolutely thrilled! The cuisine is simply incredible - each dish is prepared with attention to detail and is authentically Mexican. The flavors are simply stunning and truly made my taste buds dance. In addition to the fantastic food, the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the various dishes on the menu. The atmosphere in the restaurant is inviting and cozy, and I immediately felt at ease. Whether alone, with friends, or family, Trejo's offers an experience that one must simply experience.I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning to enjoy more of their delicious dishes! Thank you, Trejo's, for an unforgettable culinary experience!
Good food. Good service put it in the rotation. Nothing amazing but a good go to weekly place.

We love Trejo so we had to eat here, food is great, Margaritas were fantastic, service was great, overall a really good experience. Short walk to Hollywood Blvd and the walk of fame.
This place is just so cool. We stayed in a hotel round the corner and had to pop in. The steak nachos are the best damn nachos i’ve ever had. So good! Can’t wait to go back.

Everything is solid. Food good especially the carnitas taco with pineapple...the fried chicken taco was a bit tough and stringy, meat wise. Got the two taco combo with rice and beans, the beans were whole black beans and the rice was fluffy, but it seemed like half portions as they were served in a smallish container and yet the price was $17.00...tacos were $6 per...that's two for $12, meaning the beans and rice were $5?? It was visually underwhelming even though I was satisfied and full after polishing off all the food on my plate. Still it would have been nicer to have more rice and beans, just sayin'....the cafelike atmosphere is nice and artfully decorated...the place has an open spacious lowkey vibe, clean and midern... one area to the left is open to the parking lot and has an outdoors al fresco vibe but on a windy nite, we gravitated to the main dining area...nice bar area with lots of seating around the curving bar ....ive passed by many times on the way to the nearby Theatre of Note and wanted to try this place...now not likely to return since my curiosity is sated... If I lived closer, I would stop in again.
First time, won’t be the last time when I’m in the area. Chill atmosphere. Definitely a spot to come to for drinks. Like with most Mexican food restaurants the tacos are unfortunately overpriced for what you could get at trucks. My bf enjoyed them but I would pass on them. Instead get something different and you won’t be disappointed 😁 I can’t wait to try so of the other food items✌🏾💖
Pretty good tacos $17 for 2 tacos and beans and rice is kinda crazy tho. At least the saving grace was the flavor of the tacos which wasnt bad. Soda is $4. Service wasnt bad. 7/10. Not the best tacos and not the worst. The fried chicken one was better than the asada but asada still had good flavor. The lime was dry. Could've taken like 3 more.
Trejo’s Cantina in Hollywood is a must-visit for anyone craving flavorful Mexican food in a lively, welcoming setting. The menu is packed with standout options, from the steak asada and carnitas tacos to vegan-friendly jackfruit and cauliflower tacos. The nachos are frequently called some of the best in LA, and the margaritas—especially the flights—are a hit with regulars and newcomers alike. The vibe is casual and fun, with friendly staff who are happy to make recommendations. The décor features cool artwork, and there’s a great selection of branded merch if you’re a Danny Trejo fan. Service is generally quick, though it can get busy and occasionally understaffed during peak hours. The patio is dog-friendly, making it a great spot for groups and families.
Great service & atmosphere. Tacos were good I ordered 7. Just needs a little more of mexican style street Tacos. Like double corn tortillas, lots of cilantro, & white onions. Carnitas need a little more spicy. Jamaica was great tasting. Salsa was different but delicious. $10 parking was ok. I drove 3 1/2 hours to try after visiting my friends at Wildcard Boxing Gym. Went and ordered tortilla soup, and I thought it was delicious. The Date horchata was also very good. Only downside was the wait time food took to get to us.

Been here a few times with family and friends and the food is great and the atmosphere fun. Danny also stops by from time to time and sat and talked with us. What a cool dude!
It was my first time visiting Terjos. I had seen the restaurant featured many times on social media, so I went in with very high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several ways. The food arrived cold and lacked any real flavor, which made the dishes far less enjoyable than I had hoped. The meat, in particular, was extremely dry, and that was especially disappointing given how highly the place is promoted online. Overall, it was not the experience I was expecting, and I left feeling quite let down. I might go again , not for the good but to get a Tshirt

HORRIBLE SERVICE I've enjoyed having breakfast at Trejo's for many years but unfortunately I made the mistake of coming to this location. First they charge you $10 to park in the shopping center parking lot, which is ridiculous. But the reason that I had a horrible experience was that when I ordered the my food, Erica (waiter) had a nasty attitude, seemed to be bothered( place was empty BTW) and then comes over to my table to charge me for the food that I hadn't even gotten or eaten yet. And when I asked her why was she charging me already, she never apologized and just assumed that I wanted to pay, didn't ask me if I would like anything else, just HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I 💘 Trejo." Disappointed "Was B-day came all the way from Abuquerque NM. There was gentlemen with the ponytail that was doing everything. We had to wait to be seated. He was also server and I guess he was in the back where the food was made too. Toke a long time to get drinks & then didn't have mix drink or beer so we ask what do you have then? 🍹 didn't taste good at all. I order sweet tea but no sugar ask for Sugar. Food was another 40 minutes. Once the food got there . The food tasted like it was reheated again the cheese was stuck on the nachos, the quesadillas were just dry and the carne asada was so dark they look like the black beans . The gentleman with the ponytail which was our seater / server / cook was taking shots & drinking with two other people on bar so he was more helpful to them bring food & talking . Still no sugar for my tea . It was a "disappointing" meal we wont regular so I guess we weren't getting the same amount of service is the others. 😥It was not worse $218.20
